OK ASIA
Hello, this is Tenec and this is Sarah and you are listening to Music Elixir a podcast between two friends discussing their favorite Asian artists in music.
Speaker 1:Hey there, how's it going? Hello everybody, welcome to Music Elixir. Yeah, you need to start it like that from now on. What? Hello everybody, welcome to Music Elixir. Well, I figured we'd trade off, okay, but then we're gonna forget next week, I know, unless we keep tabs. Whatever, it's a free-for-all, as always, of course it is Well, even though our talks are free-for-all, today we have an actual talking about songs. It's not a Rance and Rambling, but it kind of sounds sometimes like a Rance and Rambling.
Speaker 2:Even when we do singles and songs, we end up with Rance and Ramblings because we get sidetracked.
Speaker 1:So yeah, so there were some songs that came out that we were like bops that we cannot get out of our heads, and other ones that it only came out as video, but we're like whoa, so of course we'll talk about those when you know just keep listening.
Speaker 2:When we get to them Exactly, you'll know Keep listening, you'll know.
Speaker 1:So let me start us off, because I have a little bit of history on this one, okay, okay, a little bit of history on this one, which is true. Anyways, we're gonna discuss the song New Emotions by Infinite. Now, infinite is like second-generation K-pop. You know, they actually were together since 2010. Then they took a four-year hiatus I know that word but, hey, the group came back as a six-member group, though they were seven-member group, but now they're under their own company, which is amazing. They're no longer under Wulin, which it was their company. So now they have a seventh album, begin. So amazing. And from that album yeah, we're gonna discuss New Emotions, because I'm telling you it's a song was definitely New Emotions for me, for Infinite, just because of wow, 13 years, then the hiatus, if you don't want to count the hiatus you know we are saying now the hiatus is just a very long vacation, yeah, Unless.
Speaker 1:Otherwise they say we're done. But you know it's just taking a long vacation, which is amazing. They took a four-year hiatus. Now they're back. This song is so groovy, funky, that bass and the vocals, which goes from a sultry to playful attitude. The background vocals are breathy, accentuating the words that you really want to hear to get your attention.
Speaker 1:I'm like oh my God. And also there is a phrase when they say you got me lose my mind, girl, my fangirl, emotions go wild. I even getting goosebumps right now Just thinking about it, because I'm like, yes, yes, this is so classic of Infinite. Oh, look at me. I'm like, I'm electrified.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm so happy she's showing the chills happening right now.
Speaker 1:I'm so happy with them. I'm just like when this came out, I'm like no way I'm so happy. I think I don't. The only thing I don't like about this song is that she's short. Yes exactly.
Speaker 2:It's too short. It's like two minutes and 47 seconds or something. Yeah, it's too short, much too short.
Speaker 1:Oh, I'm over here like I want more. But I guess that's great though, because you get to hear the whole album, because now they have an album.
Speaker 2:It's awesome. Yeah, yes, no, I love the disco sound. It's like I found my shoulders moving, sort of doing a little bop with my hands. I really love that electronic voice going boom, boom, boom, boom. It's got a nice smooth, easy start and then they slowly add sounds in the sort of sandpaper block sound and the what is it? The cylinder with the beads, sort of shaky shake, cabasa or something. I think it's called a cabasa, yeah, or a maracas.
Speaker 1:Because when I cut, the shake.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's the inside.
Speaker 1:Like a guido.
Speaker 2:It's got like those beads around the outside and you sort of just shake it like twist your wrist and it shakes.
Speaker 1:I used to know the name of that, but yeah, I don't?
Speaker 2:I think it's called a cabasa.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:If I'm remembering my percussion instruments, I'm not sure. But then that that bass drop. Man, like 45 seconds in that bass just comes in and you're like, oh yeah, this is a groove for sure. It's like so super groove and just they keep adding the layers of sound and the voices, like you said, moving in and out. It's awesome. I love that. You know, give me a sign, you make me lose my mind.
Speaker 1:I love that one, that one, just because of the falsetto I'm like yes, yes, emotion, oh, oh, my God, yeah no, this was, I could just see the.
Speaker 2:I think the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the nd, the dislike the line of the, the, the line of the, the, the, the, and I did like I can just see them like standing on a stage, sort of doing that shimmy back and forth with the, shake the shoulders and pop the hip to the side, you know. If they decide to tour the US, I hope they come to Boston. Probably not New York would be the closest, Of course New York.
Speaker 1:We always get Boston and always get shafted. Oh geez, please. We need shows over here, oh man, but yeah love this song.
Speaker 2:It's just beautifully constructed. Yes, you can't help but move. Like I said, I roll my shoulders and I'm like, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 1:It's in my head, it's completely in my head. It's just amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, absolutely. So check out also the performance video.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I didn't look at the video.
Speaker 1:We can look at it maybe, but it's very nice, awesome. Move on to the next song.
Speaker 2:Sure, you want to start that one, I can Go ahead. I mean, it's pretty. We're going to be talking about new jeans. Excuse me, what happened? I had a little trouble saying it. New jeans Okay, I'm super shy, and this one it's very sweet.
Speaker 2:I like that. When you first hear the music come in, the sounds are very sort of timid and shy as well, so it gives you that feeling. It's sort of the tingling sound that gives you that little fluttery. When you see your crush feeling you know you're like ooh, ooh. It just sort of gives you that rush of emotions when you're like, oh, I want to talk to you, but I'm super shy, and even the way they sing it is a little on the soft side. Like you can just see a bunch of girls in the cafeteria like looking across at the boy that one of them likes and they're like sort of giggling and like, oh, I want to talk to you, but I'm super shy. So it's definitely, it's a bop for sure. On the sort of like cuter side as opposed to like new emotions is like oh yeah, you know this is more like sweet and just innocent and playful.
Speaker 2:I really love it. It's very cute. What do you think?
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's definitely bubble pink, Just so cute, definitely. You know you have the new emotions from Infinite. You know the like. Oh, the guy who was like, yeah, I really like want you. You know my emotions. Every time I see you it's like, ah, but then the girls are like I don't know you know like.
Speaker 1:I really want to. You know, I want you to like me. You know, come to me and oh, you know, yeah, it's very cute. But the cool thing is that the EP is a collaboration with Powerpuff Girls, which you can hear in the song with the drum beats and the techno feel the song projects. Do you remember the Powerpuff Girls?
Speaker 2:Well, they've actually got them on the. If you're on Spotify, the little icon for the song shows them as Powerpuff Girls.
Speaker 1:Yep, that's the collaboration. So the hook, the uber catchy and can get off of my head. No, the super shy, super shy noise always in my head. In fact, when I feel bored or like down, I will start to sing the hook and I quickly make me happy. It also One thing I don't like about this song again is too damn short, short, right, it's too damn short.
Speaker 1:Actually, all the songs in the EP are too damn short, but they're like, really catchy, really good. But I also feel so happy when I heard this song without looking at the picture, I'm like, why does it beat, sound familiar? And then when I saw the cover of the EP and I'm like, oh, no wonder it's Powerpuff Girls. It's the beat that they use in actual the show. So I'm like, oh my god, this is amazing. But then I get the feel. Of course this is a song that everybody can understand, even just by the way the girls are projecting, even though it has more English than actual Korean. There's a few words in Korean and that's it. But yes, it's just.
Speaker 1:You know, when you're a teenager I feel like I was like back in my teens. I'm like, oh my god, I really like that boy. You know I like it. And I was like, oh, what should I do, you know? So it's awesome, it's kind of cool. It's like the two songs, like, let's say, you have boys on one side or the room, like I am the girl and the other girls are like yeah, I like it, I want you, you know, but you don't know my name. You know, but, like you know, I like you too. Like this is like a school dance. The guys are like you won't find mine and like I want to kick close and dance with you. And the girls was like but I'm so super shy I don't want to be with you, but you don't know my name, you know. So it's cool, I like this.
Speaker 2:I like the dichotomy between the two sounds.
Speaker 1:This is amazing.
Speaker 2:Well, and I was going to say too, is the fact that the girls' voices are higher, Like I think they're singing a little higher than they normally do, and that's that. The higher voice is more appealing and more of a I guess turn on for guys. They like girls with little cutesy voices. You know what I mean.
Speaker 1:Right, like you're so precious, I need to protect you. Like I need a strong man.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so it's. It's got the that tingly little synth in the background and then they're going. But I'm super shy, super shy.
Speaker 1:You know exactly who knows what happened to super shy. Go away, that's just the front. Watch out.
Speaker 2:Well, I think that's what's going to lead into our next song.
Speaker 1:Oh girl yeah.
Speaker 2:Yes, after you're super shy, this is what's going to happen.
Speaker 1:This is what happens when it actually something happens. Well, the song that Sarah is hinting about is Dala's new song, dami Lo. War Girl was released on July 28th. This has the Latin vibes, with the guitar and the reggaeton beats. Yes, all the ladies are singing. What I like about this they're singing in Spanish, malay and English, which you know they are. They're very well known, being very multicultural in their songs, which is amazing. The vocals, girl, superb, superb. As always. With this song, they are reaching out. I think they're reaching out more for international fans, which is amazing. I just, and I love that. I just love that because they're listening to their fans. Yeah, dami Lo. And some of the lyrics in Spanish is like girl, you ready? Oh, yeah, they're. They're singing about it in the Dami Lo meaning give it to me.
Speaker 1:But in the dance floor though, yeah, and you went those there, but here we go. So you know they like the whole high school thing they were saying in the dance. Then they, they pair up and she's like, hey, Dami Lo, Dami Lo, Dami Lo.
Speaker 2:Oh my God, they got runchy.
Speaker 1:Well, that's what that's what I mean.
Speaker 2:I was like, after you're super shy and you get to know him and he's telling you about his new emotions, you would be like Dami Lo, oh yeah, no, this is, this is a hip shaker. Mm. Hmm, this is got hypnotic beats. You're like, mm. Hmm, it's definitely a woodwind. It sounds like a saxophone and it is like saxophones. What I love about them. They can sound so dirty that we used to call it sax appeal back when I was playing in band. But yeah, this, I just love this song. I I would like to skip everything just to listen to it, because it is so sultry and so, mm, hmm, I don't know, it just gives you this feeling like you, it makes you feel sexy, oh yeah, you know, even if you're hanging out in your pajamas, start listening to this and you're going to be like, oh yeah, I'm feeling it and it makes it's, it's empowering, it feels really just strong and so, I don't know, energetic.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:I just I love it. It was definitely I could not sit still listening to this song Sitting at my desk. Yeah, because, like I said that that saxophone is just sort of it's raunchy, but I love it. Oh, yeah, it's awesome.
Speaker 1:I also like there's a part we have to build up. Yes. It's just like very smooth and in the song and in the arrangement is kind of low, but then it just they bring the hook down, below, down, below, down below and then the sax, exactly. Yeah, it's like driving it into you.
Speaker 2:Oh my god, but yeah no this is definitely get you moving kind of song.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:Party song. If this were played in a club, everybody would be like you'd be doing your best hip thrust things.
Speaker 1:This should be played in Miami, beach, somewhere, somewhere Latinos are at you have to play that. People are going to love it, absolutely Love it.
Speaker 2:You know, right around midnight 1am Actually 1am, when, yeah, when things are winding down, exactly Back up again, yeah exactly.
Speaker 1:That's when it's like OK, I'm going to pair up with who. Hey, oh, we need to. We need to go to the club girl. We talked about that for all this episode. It's like we have not gone to an actual decent club, just just or just just.
Speaker 2:I don't know it's yeah, no, it's what I was going to say. Did we just talk about that? We need to go clubbing. This is perfect song. Yes. Oh yes, so absolutely.
Speaker 1:Next song. Should I lead on to this one?
Speaker 2:Sure.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so it's just songs that we are going to be, we're going to discuss are only on YouTube For us anyway, unless you buy the CDs, right, but they're not released yet. So they're only on YouTube for right now. And, of course, who's only on YouTube right now? John groups.
Speaker 1:OK, so OK. So this one will be for Stones Creek that actually just dropped this. This is actually they're going to be using this theme song for a hope. I got a drama that was going to be in, but, like the meaning of the word Creek, the sound of this track has like harsh and high pitch sound. The rocking guitars and the vocals. It gives that delivery. And then there's like many genres in it, like I heard, rock, techno, classical. It's like this is like beautifully orchestrated chaos. The guys vocals are like challenge in this song and the delivery, wow. So I do highly recommend listening to this song, but with headphones, because you will meet. You will miss the complexity and the compositions of the vocals and, if not, at least you don't have some high quality speakers or something, because just just listening to it, yeah, a lot is missed. You definitely need to have like headphones because there's so much going on in there. I guess it's like like an orchestra beautifully orchestrated chaos.
Speaker 2:To me, Right, yes, yes, yes. Well, I was going to say it's got very dramatic opening, accentuated with some synthesizer. It's got sort of a sinister, suspenseful feel about it, right, but then it turns into this like fast paced adrenaline rush. You're like, oh my god, and people are going to hate me. But I gotta say it, actually the very beginning reminded me of Truth from Arashi. Just a hint, it was there for like a second and then it was like so is this drama? Is he like a psycho?
Speaker 1:No, it's a detective. This is with Daigo. It's the one that he's the one with Daigo, oh, the detective one? Okay, yeah, so knocking door or something like that. So that's the whole creek thing. Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2:So it's a detective drama. So that's sort of where the suspense feeling comes from, because, like I said, it was sort of suspense sinister, so I wasn't sure which direction it was going in. But, like you said, there's so much in the background, like if you just watched the YouTube video and listened to it, you don't hear everything that's happening. Exactly, you definitely have to have headphones on, yes, or, like you said, surround sound, super mega good speakers, yeah, because things just sort of come out of nowhere at you. Yes, but it's, it's really. I liked the video too. I really loved the way they handled it, like everything went together.
Speaker 1:The whole CGI thing yeah.
Speaker 2:And it does have that sort of mystery element to it, you know.
Speaker 1:So it's very so it's a the is for the mystery drama knocking on lock door, and it's starring Hoku Toma Matsumura and then our cutie little bit to the from Naniwa Danchi Daigo. Nishi Hata.
Speaker 2:Love that boy.
Speaker 1:He is so cute Ever since he said you know, you know his favorite, and then they know being a brat with him.
Speaker 2:But anyways, now we're the diversing from that, but I was gonna say it's knocking on locked doors, because that's sort of a weird connection. Oh no, from our. She did the locked door mysteries and he also. Truth was his, it was the theme to his sinister movie which it was kind of which awful truth has that?
Speaker 1:Yeah, that vibe.
Speaker 2:That's very. That's what I would say. I was like for just the briefest second. I was like this sounds like truth and that was like 15 years ago.
Speaker 1:So you know they might have sort of yeah, regenerated some of the sound things, things that we love back in the 80s and 90s, are rehashing it right now, which I'm like. Well, I remember that. Also, in that song, there is a break that reminds me of a Kpop group, which I'm not going to be naming, which I'm like. Oh, that reminds me of. And then also I mentioned, it to the music part.
Speaker 2:There's a dance, there's a break the break dance.
Speaker 1:They're like done, done, done, done, done, done, done, done, done, but which is also has another 90s vibe into it. Yeah, okay, but I'm not saying the name of the Kpop group. That's fine. Well, I love them, but anyway, well, that could be multiple yeah girl, what am I talking about? But I love them. How many from the hundreds of the list I?
Speaker 2:have hundreds. Well, that's what I mean. Like you say I love them, I'm like, well, don't we say that about everyone we talk about?
Speaker 1:Yeah, so you know what else? But yeah, it very unique. Not for everybody though.
Speaker 2:This is not for everybody.
Speaker 1:This is not for everybody, but it's very complex. It's complex. I'm still going to be calling it the beautifully orchestrated chaos, because there's so much and there's insane.
Speaker 2:Well, I think everybody should give it a listen.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 1:Because it could be your taste, you know, you know phones please, mm, hmm, with headphones, because that's I, in my opinion, that's the way you can actually appreciate this song. Yes, definitely, and of course, the YouTube video is the video. You know, the YouTube version. So you're not, we're not going, we're listening, not really listening to the whole song, right, which is that's one thing that I I'm very poo poo about Johnny's doing, you know. Then you hear the, because of course, they want you to buy the CD, but then they're like encouraging you to like streaming right now on YouTube, like, yeah, but it's not the reaction song.
Speaker 2:You give me just just a little bit, because I'll taste of it a part of it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know, I'll bet the song is four minutes, not three Possibly.
Speaker 2:yet maybe even longer, Exactly Because they tend Johnny's music tends to go four and a half five minutes.
Speaker 1:Exactly, so we're missing more, because I'll bet somebody's line got caught off on this one, because not everybody's singing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was trying to watch who was doing what.
Speaker 1:Not everybody's singing, you know. So there's been parts of the bar caught off which I do not appreciate. Can I say anymore?
Speaker 2:No just give us the whole song Exactly.
Speaker 1:Girl. I hope, I hope this would change. I hope that BS of just only YouTube changes, that it just stops, okay, anyways, another song that we really like a lot and you can only find it on YouTube. It's not salty, just mad, I'm just like it's so frustrating.
Speaker 2:You're bitter, not salty. You're bitter, no, no.
Speaker 1:I'm mad, like, if you know, I'm more of a group manager because if somebody pulls that on me or my, my group, the company's like snipping stuff that are good for the group. I'm gonna be like, no, this is not on my contract. You put the full version for everybody. What the hell are you doing? Okay, anyone, that should have been a rant at the end of this thing.
Speaker 1:That's right, but the other song that we, oh my God, from the song to the video, we discussed a little bit of pre, pre, pre recording very little. I know, because we want to keep it to the end. It's snowman's danger, holic yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Oh my God. Well, this one video They've been well.
Speaker 2:they've been putting out little snippets on TikTok, because that's one thing they are allowed to do, and just seeing those little clips like what 15 seconds is like? Oh my God, this is going to be so amazing. So I don't. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to steal the baton.
Speaker 1:Well, go ahead, because I did my rant on stones. You can go ahead with this Well.
Speaker 2:I love this the dirty guitar, the tambourine organ and all that brass happening at the beginning. Jazz-y piano. It is like it's another one of those that the piano is very simple but it's fierce and aggressive. It's like somebody is just banging that out. Yeah, the brass is so full and it just accentuates the feel of the song, like it really hypes you up, it gets you energized. This was another one. I could not sit still. From beginning to end I was just like yeah, yeah, love it. And of course, my little dice cake opens it up. I'm not really sure what the song's about, but I heard honey trap, which is a sort of an espionage term for using sex to get information and to trick people. But I do love the part where dice cake says don't lie to your heart, come join us. I'm like, oh, I'll join you anytime, little boy, look at you, little boy, you really love that boy.
Speaker 2:He's 30. He's a man.
Speaker 1:He is a man girl.
Speaker 2:But oh my God, yeah, no, this. It is so addicting, this song, like I must have listened to it and watched the video 20 times in a row. I was just like, oh, but this was another one. Actually, the video had a moment that was almost identical to an Irishie thing way back in 2002, like 20 years ago.
Speaker 1:This is a classic Johnny sound.
Speaker 2:Well, it was. It was more what was happening in the video. It's an office scene. It's funny how everybody's working but they're not working and they're pouting and angry about stuff and throwing the papers. It was like, exactly like nice. No, co-co-co-ro-key, I think, is the song. Okay, so it was. I was just like, oh my God, I know.
Speaker 1:I think every Johnny song that comes out for you is like I know my shot.
Speaker 2:Well, no, no, no, I mean the video part. The song is pretty, pretty unique sounding. You know what I mean it's? Yeah, there's hints here and there, but this one's I don't know. It was the video, it was the actual visuals to it.
Speaker 1:I like what you're saying, but wait till I'm done here, because then we'll talk about more of the other. She's aspect of all both of those songs.
Speaker 2:Well, like us. Yeah, there's definitely parts of this and same thing with Creek. That are our classic Johnny sounds, and I'm sure our she's sounds were somebody else's too. I just wasn't listening and for you, johnny started.
Speaker 1:Yeah, forget V six. Forget Tokyo, forget everybody.
Speaker 2:Exactly. No, actually I do like all those bands, but some map Forget man who's that oh my. God. So yes, anyways, just, I loved this song. It was just so addicting, so addicting, mm. Hmm, that's my little rant about it, you go ahead.
Speaker 1:So the theme is another theme song, of course, for the TV drama Trillion Game, which snowman's member Ren Meguro, mr handsome, of course he is, he is. And, but wait a minute, the good thing about this is that this is going to be showed on Netflix worldwide. Girl, that's right, Worldwide. I'm like yes, and bring it on. Finally, finally, something else that we can see, you know from from a Johnny member, worldwide. So of course, I guess I'm saying you can see on YouTube, whatever. But the song, yeah, they had the Big Bang Field, the Rockabilly, the Risen and Blue Sounds, which that was what I was here mainly from the piano, I think we're saying Jassy, because of the very upbeat, but sometimes it gave that bluesy on it, so I was thinking more rhythm and blues. But yeah, this is another one that you just want to get up and dance. Because is that in fact? You know, it's just fun, so much fun. Of course, the guys vocals are fantastic.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes.
Speaker 1:Talk about harmonies Superb, just superb harmonies.
Speaker 2:That it's just well, and with nine guys, right with nine people exactly to get? I mean you would get a huge sound, but for it to actually work and sound good and the good, thing that I love about snowman is that you can distinguish each member's vocals.
Speaker 1:Sometimes you hear like the blend of vocals. I'm thinking of Ono and Nino.
Speaker 1:That's sometimes you get confused not with snowman, you can hear them and they're all so unique and amazing blend very well the harmonies, like I said, they do like it's like it's a great puzzle that. The picture is just amazing. It just blows your mind. Love their vocals. This is a group that I love, love, love a lot from their dancing to their vocals. There's another one that I'm peoed that why is not put out there more internationally? Because for me this is like the best that Johnny has right now.
Speaker 1:I know it's fighting words, right now I was going to say, yeah, some, johnny know what fans are going to be out there. Like what? What are you talking about? What? What? For me, right now, stones is like the best out of Johnny. You said snowman, snowman, sorry, snowman, not stones. We did talk about stone, sorry, snowman. Now stone snowman came out at the same time though. Yes, debuted together, so that's, that's a cool thing. But snowman definitely. There's been all the groups in there that I'm like. I'm so man of well as well, amazing vocals, but they were not. I don't know what happened, but just like fell through the cracks. Someone dropped ball. You know, one of them that I'm thinking about is news.
Speaker 2:They have amazing vocals and they've been around so long.
Speaker 1:Yes, that there's no reason why they shouldn't be right now they're kind of like gaining momentum but I'm like but they've been around for how long? 15 years or more.
Speaker 2:Well, no, it's where they were around 2000. No, they were around 2006, I think. Maybe they were. I think closer to when Cattoon debuted, okay, I think I don't remember, but they've been around long enough, you know, I mean they were. They were all Johnny's juniors, with Rishi and Cattoon and can Johnny eight, right, but news, they just did a new album, right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they're promoting something going right now. Of course, you can only listen. Maybe I don't even know if you can listen to it on YouTube. Yeah, they do, I think they do have some stuff. I mean, I have a YouTube channel but again, there's not not much promoted for them.
Speaker 2:They're just like. Because they're on the older side, who cares? The vocals are there. I know, I know that does not make sense. There was some sort of unwritten rule about once you hit 30, they're not so interested in you. I don't know, but you know what.
Speaker 1:That's stupid, because I mean, these guys do not even look 30. Okay, no, I know, look at that game, I know.
Speaker 2:They don't look. They don't look it. I know it wasn't. I said it was like this unwritten rule the fact that ono made it to 40 and still being promoted. Look at him, he doesn't look 40. I know he's a cute impotuity. Follow him to the end of time. Oh my god. But, yeah, it is. It's some weird, you know, like they feel, once these guys hit 30, that they've peaked, they've maxed out and there's. You know, it's like the emphasis becomes more on the younger crowd. So I don't know.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I guess, because, if you know, if they see the younger crowds start looking at these men, I was like, well, they're too you to all. For me I'm looking for something, somebody who was more my age, I get that, but I mean there's people our age and our age that love them and they're never heard of them. Hello, yeah.
Speaker 2:Push on that. Well, the thing is, I don't know, but I mean it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2:I mean, I don't care. Yeah, we've probably rambled about this before somewhere, but, like, when I'm a fan of music and an artist, I don't stop Like I still listen to the music I was listening to when I was younger Not all the time, but you know, I have my little throw it on shuffle and I hear things from when I was five right through now, because I don't stop liking the music and the artist just because they're getting older and I'm getting older. You know what I mean. Like the music is timeless, yes, and it brings you back to a certain time and it brings back memories and it's important to hold on to that so you can keep adding new people. It's okay, you don't have to. There's no shame in liking more than one band.
Speaker 1:Well, now that you say that if I was to play, or if anybody is to play, like Danger Holic in a senior citizen like home, they're gonna be like yeah, this is, you know, because it has those nostalgic sounds that they grew up with, you know the big band, especially the rock ability and the rhythm and blues, I'll bet they're gonna be like yeah, this is who is this. This is good, they start jitterbugging Exactly.
Speaker 1:Exactly so. It's, yeah, timeless, like you said, like some people, sometimes, like they, you know, if they hear a song they're like what is this? Oh no, that's for young people. And I'm like what do you mean young people? It's music, yeah.
Speaker 2:What do you mean?
Speaker 1:young people, Exactly, you know since when there's there's age for music. Okay, maybe the like baby shark song is for you know even I will be like baby shark Makes me happy If you, if you feel down on the press, you can sing the baby shark hey all right, see there you go. There you go. I will listen to baby shark. I like sharks, so baby sharks, okay. Well, you live in the Cape, isn't that like shark sound Over there? There you go, right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, parts of it. So there you go. You should like baby shark.
Speaker 1:What are my next time you go to the Cape visiting your parents and their shark, you go baby shark, Just sing that one, so people won't be. That's freaked out. Oh, there's shark coming. Oh, baby shark, Baby shark.
Speaker 2:It's funny when you talk about that. I follow the sharks I know you do, that's why. I said that and I just got three pings this morning that sharks, known sharks, tagged ones with names, have been spotted along the coast, do you? Remember the names, oh gosh. Well, some of them are simple, like James. James was off the coast of Wellfleet, you know. But people will be like what? But then they've got like moon, moon, uh, moonshiner, or something you know. So I think it just depends on who's naming them at the time, you know.
Speaker 1:Okay, moonshiner or somebody was probably hitting the bottle or something when they're tagging them.
Speaker 2:They might have thought the shark looked drunk. I don't know.
Speaker 1:But what kind of moonshiner are you drinking? I don't know. Well, moonshine is nice.
Speaker 2:But been some shark activity this morning early. Wow, that's it. Well, they're most active early morning and in early evening, yeah. Like when it's sort of murky, the sky and the water sort of look the same color, does they?
Speaker 1:have to do also with temperature, since to be the shores to be a bit cooler. Even though for me the shores here are just freaking frigid ice.
Speaker 2:I don't know. Yeah Well, they don't. They prefer sort of more temperate. They don't like cold, cold water. That's why the not too many up, like in Maine, because talk about frigid water, but yeah they like it sort of on the mid range, warmer like the Pacific's, warmer than the Atlantic. So the West Coast has a lot as well. But you know, with rising water temperatures and stuff, they're bolder and moving farther north all the time. Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:See, we do always rant and ramble because here we are totally off time, we're talking about snowman and then suddenly we're talking about sharks.
Speaker 1:You never know what you're going to get with us. Exactly, exactly.
Speaker 2:Anyway, but this is also Danger Holic is another one. It's the YouTube version, so you know we're missing. Oh yeah, so much we are.
Speaker 1:We are, even though we can hear actually the members here that they have their lines and whatnot not, like with stones, that unfortunately, for some reason, I can tell us there's some of the members don't have as much vocals in there.
Speaker 2:You know they're taking away from them which is weird, because I did end up watching like another one of their videos and I was like which one was it? I can't remember now. But I was like, wow, this is actually a really good division of all the vocals. I think it was the single before Creek, maybe. But it felt like it was more evenly distributed Right.
Speaker 1:Everybody just sort of took turns and sometimes when is a theme for one of the members, sometimes the member has more lines. Actually, for this one, for Danger Holic, Randy didn't have that many lines. It just it was pretty much equal. As per with Creek Hoku They'd have a bit more lines, you know, because of course for his drama right. But with that song being so complex, I'll bet that just there's a lot, a lot of the members who were just cut off.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that could be. It's not everybody has, Unfortunately. You know, sometimes there's a weak link.
Speaker 1:Yeah, girl, don't go there.
Speaker 2:I'm not naming names, oh, and I didn't even say them them specifically. But there's just certain sounds and certain songs that not everybody in a band can do. Oh yeah, so, depending on the music, we've seen it happen with all groups. Oh yeah, someone gets shafted because they cannot do the falsetto or they can't do the deep bass, you know. So yeah, it happens. They don't know how to rap, so they don't get to sing.
Speaker 1:You, know, but you know those are the. That's something that should have been discussed when given the lines and the arrangement for the song, you know, and I know which group you're talking about, but it's not the ones that we're discussing. No, no, that. Well, one of them is just like wow, anyways, that is missing steps, not singing on key, and we're talking live yeah, and not just only once, but multiple times that I'm like oh, boo with you, but why so sorry for you? Your band members really love you and that's the thing you know. They have a brotherhood. This group has a brotherhood, you know, and they have gone through so much and a lot of hate.
Speaker 2:Well, and also if, if you're stronger in a different talent zone, that they also want to be showcasing you, you're going to sort of they want to keep you because, like you can dance like a maniac, you know, but your voice may not be so good, so they just sort of work you in, you know.
Speaker 1:so there's dynamics and there's yeah there's ways to work with that member right to showcase their, their strength.
Speaker 2:And so for Dangerholic too, because we talked a little about Stone's video, yeah, and I really liked that. The whole concept was really cool. But this Dangerholic is so much fun, yes, and you can tell they had such a good time doing it. And can I tell you, yes, I love Miyadate with the blonde hair Girl, oh my.
Speaker 1:God, this blonde actually is actually. You remember that was another blonde that he was on there. I'm like, no, this time it's like, oh, they found the right shade. Yes, they found the right shade, but I'm so sorry that he's like. You know, they got a bright fry his hair, but it looks nice, but it looked so good.
Speaker 2:I was like he looks like a completely different person. Yes, like you know it's him, but you're like, wow, it totally changed how he looked. It was awesome. I love it. But the the costumes, mm hmm, so 70s. So love the costume.
Speaker 1:So out of the discotheque. Awesome, now that you brought up that. The costumes lately yes, they're not got it. They're like perfect Mm. Hmm, somebody's listening. Yes, somebody's listening. No, no, the Goddy costumes.
Speaker 2:Like they're. Well, these are colorful, yes, they're bright and cheerful, but they, yeah, there's. There's no feathers, there's no sequence.
Speaker 1:It's. You can see some like see through, cut you know, whatever some lace, but it looks very tasteful, mm. Hmm, oh, love it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, love it. This is so that scene where they're in the business suits in the office, yeah, everybody looks so sharp, oh, they're just so amazing. It's great and I love these guys are so expressive, yes, like they're all just sitting at desks but everybody, the facial actions going on, yes, are just so awesome. They're so good. They're so good, like, at everything. They dance great, they sing great. They obviously can act yes, so it's just. I love this video and like when they're doing the, the video game kind of thing they're all going up against the lion head.
Speaker 2:They're so over the top, I know it's awesome.
Speaker 1:I love it Because you know they're acting, you know.
Speaker 2:Yes, amazing.
Speaker 1:I like that Also. Koji's hair is really nice. It's more like a caramel.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, oh, he looks amazing. He's wearing the green suit.
Speaker 1:Yes, mm. Hmm, oh, he looks so good. He looks so good, he's so cute. Yeah, yeah, he was another one.
Speaker 2:They they picked a good hair color for him this time around. You know, actually he usually has just the natural sort of maybe a little hanged. Yeah.
Speaker 1:No, they look.
Speaker 2:So he looks that, and of course they stay with his pink hair.
Speaker 1:Oh, it's awesome. And then, mr Model, oh my God, geez, those suits that pink one the shark skin?
Speaker 2:Yeah, shark skin suit, of course. The way he's got his hair pulled back, yeah, I love that.
Speaker 1:Always love it Boy always looked amazing on everything.
Speaker 2:I made my sister watch the video and she was like that's Raul, yeah. I was like yeah, I was like he's grown up, rach. You know it's been a few years now he's he's matured, she's like, but I love his hair.
Speaker 1:You are in your sister with the hair, because even I have the hair, rachel's like oh look at the hair. That's right. I'm like, okay, this is a sister thing.
Speaker 2:Yes, absolutely, this is a sister thing. Yeah, no, I know I is. That's like. The first thing I noticed about people is the hair, yes and so, so my opinion can change later if you improve your.
Speaker 1:Wow, well, hello, oh no, what, what? What was the first thing you're like? I like this one. I can see your hair.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was like he's the one with the short blonde hair. My cousin was like I knew it, I knew it. The hair.
Speaker 1:Yep, I can see that the hair. But yeah, that, oh yay. So, yes, no man, amazing, amazing video, just NAMIC.
Speaker 2:Check it out.
Speaker 1:Harmonization Awesome, it's just amazing. Of course, mr Daisuke, you didn't talk much about Daisuke on this one.
Speaker 2:Sure I did. I was like he opens it. Yeah, he's the one who sings the part about don't lie to your heart, Come join us. And I was like, absolutely, I'll be there in a heartbeat.
Speaker 1:I was saying on my blog that I wonder if Daisuke was like in the cat theme. Oh, probably, especially with the little things like oh, I got a little kitty Because he's now a cat, daddy Cats.
Speaker 2:His kitties are so cute.
Speaker 1:You saw them Right. Oh my God, he's so proud he loves these cats Like please to death. It's insane. I've seen clips of him just being like oh geez.
Speaker 2:Please Like inhaling it. Yes.
Speaker 1:He's so crazy, so I wonder if he liked the whole cat theme. He's like yes, kitties.
Speaker 2:Probably his idea.
Speaker 1:So he probably did like the most because of the cat theme.
Speaker 2:Yes, anyways, are we done? I think so.
Speaker 1:Okay, but check out the songs, yeah. So streaming services, we have infinite. Of course, new jeans and Dala about the girls, yes. And of course, on YouTube you'll find stones and snowman.
Speaker 2:You can stream it? Yeah, check them out for sure.
Speaker 1:And if you have Netflix, go for trillion games. Go watch Mr Ren. Yes, I can't wait. I can't wait. I'm so happy. I will love if they do the same thing for Hokuto and Daigo's mystery drama. Yeah, that would be nice.
Speaker 2:That would be nice if they do that. I'm not sure if it's some, but I don't think so. It sort of depends on what kind of detective show it is, because I know there have been series where it's like cute detective and maybe they don't think that that would appeal as much to international audience.
Speaker 1:It's a mystery drama, but I mean is well, they call everything drama, it's still be cute and like well, I guess I don't know and we'll see, but at least for Meguro Chang he's at least we got something, but Mr Meme.
