Ever wish you could traverse the globe in a single podcast episode? Well, buckle up as we take you on a whirlwind tour of the latest Asian music releases. We kick off in Thailand with 4EVE, a female group who has turned heads with their catchy yet controversial track, 'I Like Boys.' We dissect the song's infectious energy and how its sexually charged lyrics are causing quite a stir.

Next, we jet over to China to spotlight the boundary-pushing music of LE'V. With his unique blend of R&B and EDM in 'AI Bae', we uncover how he's revolutionizing the music scene. Seamlessly blending Eastern and Western influences, his narrative of a quest for the perfect partner is as captivating as his sound. From there, our journey takes us to Japan with Chanmina's Latin jazz-infused 'Death Anniversary'. And we get into the groove with Vicke Blanka's retro-infused track 'Snake.' We unpack the dance anthem's potent beats, and cheeky English phrases, and speculate on its potential meaning.

As we end our global escapade in South Korea, we slow dance to the comforting rhythm of The Rose's 'You're Beautiful.' We explore how this tender track could be a balm to listeners worldwide. By the end of this episode, you'll have a newfound appreciation for Asian music. So, what are you waiting for? Get ready for a musical adventure like no other!

Speaker 2:

Hello, this is Tanik and this is Sarah and you are listening to Music Elixir a podcast between two friends discussing their favorite Asian artists in music. Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir. I'm Sarah, and with me is I'm Panic. Just that, simple huh, I'm Panic. Well, today we're going to be talking about some more newer releases new-ish releases.

Speaker 1:

We're finally getting together to talk about all the five songs that I didn't make no time because I was too busy at work. So, finally, finally, we're doing this episode.

Speaker 2:

You know, yeah, we were supposed to record it last time, but it just wasn't in the stars.

Speaker 1:

No, it was too busy at work. Yeah let's say there was a shit show going on and they needed my attention 100%. Of course I'm at work, right, I can't do too much. I mean, I listened to the song while doing that week in the car, but it was not enough because the car stereo is so different than headphones.

Speaker 2:

Right, I was going to say it's completely different. It's not enough to hear it in the car. I mean, I played it in the car the whole time too, but without the headphones. It was.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're missing out some little details that we like to listen and point out. Exactly. Yeah, so we have a female group, a female solo artist. Also a male solo artist too. Oh, there are two. Wait a minute. Yeah, Did I miss one?

Speaker 2:

out. Did you miss a song all together?

Speaker 1:

No, no, no. Okay, I know why because I consider the solo one a group, not a solo artist. But if he is a solo artist, oh, okay, I get what you're saying.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, two male solo artists and then one Korean group yes, Okay, all right, right, and we've got sort of a mixed bag going on here. We've got Thai, chinese, korean and then two Japanese. Yes, so we've got a good variety happening.

Speaker 1:

I try to mix in, get us different areas. Well, I suggested a couple of these songs. Yes, you have Especially one of the female artists, because she's good and she's not well represented, you know, and she's very good, she's a very good artist.

Speaker 2:

She is definitely Okay, can't wait.

Speaker 1:

Are we going to go in order? I was thinking the female group first, then the solo Chinese artist, then the female solo Japanese, then the solo group slash group Japanese artist.

Speaker 2:

And with okay.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because you know I already have. We have been hinting about that group and how much we love the vocals, so I want to leave that one.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know what, and what's funny is, this sort of this reminded me of the last set of singles we did, because I'm like oh, we got the girl upbeat band, we got a slow just going to let her by. Now One of these is slower, like we did with with V and then some sort of in between stuff. So it's yes, only this time we have two sets of female artists.

Speaker 1:

So that's good. Yes, represent we have to. You know they're not well represented out there, as we know very much, and we always talk about that. Yes, we do, and you know female talent is not well represented and always get the shaft and or the push over, and that's not fair. Nope, you know absolutely not. So anyways. So let's start with this group from Thailand. It's a girl group. This is for Eve, with the single. I like boys when you start this one, okay, I was going to say this one.

Speaker 2:

It starts out sounding sort of like a cheer pep rally going on and then throughout the song it also has sort of like a drum and bugle core kind of feel to it. There's a lot of very steady marching cadence kind of beats, edm synth. This is super danceable. At one point it even sort of switches over to like a. It made me think of trance disco.

Speaker 1:

I was like I can do that. I can hear that, yes.

Speaker 2:

That which also surprisingly reminded me of the Charlie's Angels theme, like way back the seventies. One Remember yeah.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, yeah, I can see it, I can hear it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was just like the briefest of moments where I was like am I here at Charlie's Angels? But it's still, it's awesome. So this one, it's danceable in different ways throughout the song. It definitely switches up. But attitude, this is like. This is a confidence song. Yes, this is. I feel strong about myself. Parts of it I'm like you know, I started to have feelings. Some men wrote this.

Speaker 1:

Of course.

Speaker 2:

Like, just because of the way things are said and phrased, it's almost all in. Is it all in English? It is. Now that I'm looking, I'm like wait a minute.

Speaker 1:

It is all in English. It is. This is one thing that I was like wow.

Speaker 2:

I was like, wait, did they throw in any other? But they didn't. It was all all in English. So there's, you know, just some sort of like always on top boy, you make me crazy till I drop. That was like okay. And this is like yeah, tell all your friends I like boys. So that's what made me think like I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I think some men wrote this for these ladies to be exactly, but it's still it is you got to be confident and strong to sing this. So you know I won't hide from it anymore. Okay, it's basically telling you exactly what you need to know about the song. I like boys, and so sprinkled all throughout it are little innuendos and little hints at why they like boys, Right, Exactly. But it's still. It's a fun song. It's just got a really great overall sound to it. So that was sort of my take on it.

Speaker 1:

It is a fun song. I do like the dance beat. You know the composition of the whole dance danceable thing, the lyrics. I'm a little bit mixed bag on this mix. You know mixed feelings about it, especially when you you know when you said that you know, tell everybody I like boys and it's like okay. So it's like you sound strong but you also sound kind of loose.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's. That's why I said I think it's written by men. Okay.

Speaker 1:

So, okay, no-transcript, Cheerleading, cool. I was kind of blah about that, you know. I'm like uh, ok, I hope there's more to it, because to me it was blah. It's that beginning was blah. Well, because it was well too much, said, ok, it's just too much, like that let's say that's what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 1:

There's too, much like that. Wait, from other groups. You mean, there's plenty of groups that are kind of like that. So I'm like I would like this beginning to be different. Hope, you know. But you know, this is there. They didn't compose this, they're just saying the ladies just saying they're just here, they're just the vocals. Ok, it's all in English, which is great because they want to give that international friendliness so they can be played more. You know, outside from Thailand. The ladies vocals I love their vocals because do we have some fierce vocals plus some seductive vocals? Ok, for the I like boys. It's a strong comeback from past songs that they have made, because they have a lot of ballady, kind of like slowish songs. Poppy, yes, and of course, in their language. I was just hoping this is again another thing that when they do female artists to make a breakthrough, they always have to sexualize them, and this is my problem with the song.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's, that's what I was getting at. Because why I said I think it was written by men?

Speaker 1:

because it is so overtly like, it's like they're like around, they're like thirsty for men Right. Tell all your friends, that's the only thing.

Speaker 2:

So into them. That was my issue with it too, Right. I was like, but it is strong and like you were saying their vocals, they've got the nice sweet ones, the seductive, the rapping sort of you know, strong. I just would have preferred slightly different lyrics Right In places.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because it just makes them sound losey loosey on the on the prowl, lucy goosey. So yeah, that's. You know they didn't write this song. This is not their lyrics. The girls were just singing it, which they did. Amazing. Love their vocals, the choice of the lyrics, the song. Whoever chose this song for the girls, I just want to say I'm pulling that person and it's gotta be a man, but the girls did amazing. I applaud them. That's what I give them, you know, a 10 for vocals. Lyrics. I'm giving it a three. I'm really ranking this badly because it just I want to. So great talent, do not like the lyrics? Right Well, the composition is amazing.

Speaker 2:

Right, exactly, musically it's great. It goes sort of in and out of different genres, so it's strong in that sense. But I felt the same way. I was like you know, I don't know that I'd run around singing this, right, because people be like, oh really lady, okay, right, so, yeah. So that was my only sort of drawback to it. I was like it's fun to listen to, right, I don't want people to hear me listening to it, because they'll be like, excuse me, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Remember, going back to other I think it was our last episode when we were talking about artists, that they're singing it the way it is. What about a little girl in Thailand singing this lyrics? Right, not knowing?

Speaker 2:

what exactly?

Speaker 1:

I mean, these are, you know, adult women, you know they're in their 20 ish. I want to say, and you have a five year old singing I like boys Because I mean, is that catchy?

Speaker 2:

Right. But in the same vein we've had songs from Western artists like look at some of Britney Spears stuff. Oh yeah, no, it's like oops, I did it again oh, baby, baby.

Speaker 1:

And then I'm like oh geez, and people always talk about that.

Speaker 2:

And we sort of brought it up. You know, when you think about songs you listen to as a kid, yeah, and you're belting out these lyrics that are totally inappropriate, yeah, my favorite song I think I was too young, for sure was I want you to want me by cheap trick. Okay, this is not a song that a little kid should be singing. So there you go. Yeah, yeah, but it's an awesome song. It is an awesome song.

Speaker 1:

It is an awesome song, you know. That's just, you know. Led to the parents criteria to like show these songs to their kids. But again, no, it's a strong comeback. I applaud them. They did an amazing job as vocalist, and yeah, that's all I'm going to say.

Speaker 2:

Well, I was going to say it'll. It'll work fine for clubs, yes, and dancing around clubbing yes. For, yeah, the general populace may not, right, you know? And it's something like. I had to listen to it a few times before I was really like, yeah, I don't know about these lyrics, yeah, it's just not something I'm going to run around singing out loud myself. Tell all your friends so into them, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I like, I like them boys, all I saw me. Yeah, yeah yeah, okay, all right, I mean, there are other ways to say this. I would prefer more attitude, more vampiness, more sass than I don't know I was just like I said, it's good club song, you know.

Speaker 2:

Definitely check it out. It's worth listening to. It's very interesting musically, Right. So there we go. Okay, I already forgot what we were going to do next.

Speaker 1:

We're going to be talking about the Chinese artists now, oh okay, lovey levy, levy, levy, levy, levy.

Speaker 2:

But there's an apostrophe, shouldn't it?

Speaker 1:

be, Levy. He did a live and I got to hear it. He pronounced his name. That's why I'm saying calling himself levy. Levy, okay, yes, so yes, levy is a Chinese singer who currently is living in South Korea. He's famous from participating in the competition show Boys Planet, and the song that we're going to talk about is AI Bay. Yes, ai Bay, ai Bay. I like that.

Speaker 2:

AI, ai, ai Bay.

Speaker 1:

It was released on August 18th. For me, this is an R&B because of his voice, edm, because it's like, it's like heavy and I'm like, ooh, another club song. Definitely another club song. Excellent. This is an excellent introduction for him because it's the only solo, the only song he has right now, and he has not only sings in Chinese but also in Korean, so you can hear this one in Korean as well. I love his vocals, the change and the character the song changes with the mood. I mean every time that the song arrangement changes, his voice also changes to capture that mood. Love it. His voice can get like raspy at times. When there's that heavy, big beat I'm like, wow, definitely great melodic voice as well. He knows how to capture the R&B mood. It's just a fantastic song to showcase his abilities as a singer.

Speaker 2:

I do see the R&B, which is to me, though it's at points yes, it's not the whole thing, because I heard a lot. To me it was more industrial techno, because it's so like na na, na, na na. He's got that bass that rattles your chest. I was listening to it kind of loud in the car and I was like, oh, I can feel this through my whole body Like boom, boom, boom. Definitely EDM beats, yes.

Speaker 2:

So it starts out with this driving and then, not quite a minute in, it slows down and it's very tonal with the underlying synth and it's almost like, oh, it's this weird drum. Definitely you have to hear it with headphones. It's such a unique sound. But then it snaps right back into that grind. You're like boonah boonah. There's a few English words thrown in here and there. Girl, we got to go hit the road.

Speaker 2:

Love will fix the error. Love and technology. You're my AI bay. You know like, oh, you and I go beyond the galaxy, couldn't find another like you in the world. I mean it's oh, your love is my power. Your love is all I need. So he's got some things that are very, you know, aimed at you. It seems like. It seems sort of like he's slightly jaded with the world and women. Maybe he's looking for our men, we can't determine. But he does say girl, you're all I need. So but like my sort of overall idea of what was going on in this song, is he's so jaded with all these things? He's like I'm going to go with an artificial intelligence girlfriend, I'm going to find something, because they're going to be everything I need them to be.

Speaker 1:

They're going to react to the way he wants you, he wants to build his own bay.

Speaker 2:

Right, so that love will fix the error of what goes on in the outside world, and so there'll be no complications here it is, I'll have exactly what I'm looking for. We won't argue, we won't have complaints, we'll be perfectly content together. Which is like, ok, you know, interesting sort of concept, right, right, everybody wants that perfect ideal, you know, partner, significant other, but like, is that really going to fix the problems? You know what I mean? So I just I found it very interesting and that's where that, like you know, my AI, ai, it's very electronic, it's very this grind, it's just this grind in that base. And you're like, that's where the fed up, I'm just going to get me an artificial girlfriend.

Speaker 1:

Now that you said that they should use this song and revamp the movie Weird Science oh, that's an.

Speaker 2:

AI Bay. Yeah Well, there's also oh my God, there's a manga I can't remember. It's like my, my boyfriend's a robot, or whatever. This girl accidentally gets a robot boyfriend. Oh my God, ai Bay, exactly. It was like delivered to her by accident and she can't get rid of him because they love whoever powers them up, kind of thing. Oh no, so when she opens the box and he sees her, he's like I love you and she's like no, go away. It's very cute, and they made a movie about it with oh Moko Michi. Anyway, he's a beautiful, beautiful man.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, oh my God Like, oh my God Like, oh I got.

Speaker 2:

So, that's what it made me think of. I was like, oh, the robot boyfriend, and there's been a couple of us.

Speaker 1:

But yeah, weird Science too, we're science and all of them, there's just two geeks building the perfect woman, perfect man, perfect girlfriend.

Speaker 2:

So he's, like you, call in Levy.

Speaker 1:

The key Building his girlfriend. Yeah, building his girlfriend, geek Wait nerd.

Speaker 2:

Maybe nerd nerd.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, there is. Well, I'll have the discussion of the nerd geek and what's the other one, this nerd geek and jerk? Yeah, there's this comedian. He made this little. Yeah, I got to find it. Then I can explain, you know, for each term because I'm like, oh my God, yeah, oh, he makes sense. All right Now, I know, but this is more into the geeky side. You know they're too timid, but they're into so much on something that you know anyways. But, yeah, you're my AI Bay, or maybe hopefully we're hoping that he found somebody that is with the specs of his AI Bay.

Speaker 1:

Because I'm like, but no, a great, great song to showcase him, as you know, as a solo artist. Awesome, awesome beats, definitely Yay.

Speaker 2:

I applaud him, yeah, when he, when he sings that sort of slowed down R&B, more styled stuff, his voice is beautiful, oh yeah, beautiful. So and then when he gets back into the AI, ai AI Bay, I loved this song. This was one of my Were you dancing in the car All the time I was dancing everywhere, why not?

Speaker 1:

You have to. It's one of those Definitely.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

I was dancing too. So next song yeah, we're going to go with Miss Chanmina. Yeah, woo Woo. I have mentioned her a couple of times. About Chanmina, we're like we need to do at least a song for Miss Chanmina because she is an amazing singer, songwriter, I mean she. But her I love. Her raps are just fierce. Her raps are so fierce and the song that we are going to chat about is death anniversary. She is so sassy and in your face, her music, oh my God, she, she, oh, love, love, just love. But this song, the Latin jazz, salsa fusion, well, of course, with her fierce vocals. Her vocals sometimes come as telling this person you are in a home and I'm telling you why to. I don't give an F about you. This is my feels on this one. Just a powerful rap segment around 247. Oh, that I'm like. Yes, chanmina, yes, yes, she's so good about this. Just to go for the kill for this in the song. It's just an awesome editing song, just awesome. Oh, anyways, yes, you go All right.

Speaker 2:

Well, I was going to say definitely dance Latin beats, a lot of brass jazz piano. Like that's not in, but like Latin jazz piano, yeah, Cause it's very oh my God, another one with great bass. And like her voice is so intense. And what I love is when she's singing this particular song. She's kind of like you said, sassy, but there's also this sort of oddly disinterested tone to her voice, Like she's like giving you attitude, but sort of like you know, I don't even care. So it's just, yeah, she's done with the bullshit. And she's like telling you all about it in this song.

Speaker 2:

I was thinking like this could be some sort of dystopian thriller, like post apocalyptic this is what's happening after the world has mostly come to an end. And she's like does anything matter? No, I don't think so, Because there were a couple of things like she talks about the ride or die, shut up, it's my life. So this is someone who's like I'm just, I'm done with the BS seriously. And what am I? Why am I here? What am I doing? You know, give, give me a reason to even care about you or me. It's very. She delivers that really, really well. I mean, she has got such strong vocals.

Speaker 2:

That's why, I love her. I love her. Yeah, I just. This is a great tune to just listen to anywhere. I was, like I said, in the car, I was at the office, I was at home and I was, like you know, I just really it gave me this oddly satisfied, like I'm entitled to be pissy right now, I can be angry about something, annoyed by something, and this song allows me to feel good about it, so that was my take on it.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, when I when this song came out, I'm like Sarah's going to love this song. Sarah's going to love this song. This is something that's just going to be a vibing.

Speaker 2:

Well, remember when we were we were talking about we should put together another list and I said, ah, chan Mina came out with something, but I couldn't remember the title Right and I heard it once. This was the song I was talking about. So when you were like I put Chan Mina on the list, I was like there it is. That was it, cause I just you know I had it running through with a bunch of other new stuff that had come out. So I was like what was?

Speaker 1:

the name of it. This was it.

Speaker 2:

So I definitely love it.

Speaker 1:

So this anniversary, so this is, I'm assuming, a breakup song on the anniversary day. So it's like this, is it? You think I'm just a pretty face or something? Something did happen in this. There's there's a relationship problem here and she just had it, and you know, we're done and this is why I'm telling you off.

Speaker 2:

Right. Well, there's something about birthday too, cause she says birthday in English somewhere the little chorus.

Speaker 1:

So I wonder if he has missed her birthday and she's always been there for his birthday, like he's, she's always there for him, but he's not there for her type of thing. Cause there is one point I was like um, kira, kire, kire me, she's pretty. She says the name because pretty and something you know. Oh, because I'm pretty, you, you know, you think you know you can treat me this way, type of thing. But I mean, just her delivery is just like yeah, I had it, I had it and this is why I had it. Bob, bob, bob, don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exact.

Speaker 1:

Type of thing which, uh, amazing. And the video have you seen the video? Yeah, I did that was awesome.

Speaker 2:

I saw it. So I saw it after I had my like. Oh, this is like a post-apocalyptic you know theme song, cause I was like yeah, it's sort of more mafia based, which is you know also why. You'd be like yeah, an attitude.

Speaker 1:

You know she's like he's. He's dealing with the mom, mom girlfriend or mom wife, I don't know. It's just like I'm going to have them kill you. No, she's amazing. Love her. Chambina, yay, that's a great, great comeback and put this song for her Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing.

Speaker 2:

So next song this is the other solo slash group.

Speaker 1:

Every time I thought that it was. I always saw just him and then I'm like I thought that was just the name of the band. But it's just his stage name. We're going to talk about Vickie Blanca. His actual name is Yamaike Junia and song is Snake. This is a funky groove, heavy beats. It transports me into like an 80s and 90s club vibes. You know the the. It has those like beats that are very typical for the clubs in those, you know, I'm going to say late 80s, early 90s vibes, full of synth, drum machines, electric guitars, the fat bass, the fat bass, yes, no fair, no fair, I have it.

Speaker 2:

It's even capitalized Fat bass.

Speaker 1:

You know that's my favorite word is fat bass. You know that very well. It's so infectious I dance to this one. Every time I hear it, I sing along some of the few phrases. He's one of those Japanese artists that they're just, they're just phenomenal. I mean, they're a great. I know the singer's songwriter. You know I put them in the same category as, like Fujii Kase. They're just like that, that good. They're just that good, huh.

Speaker 2:

Give me your view, well, my view. I like the. The weird little boop boop, boop, boop leading into it, sort of that. That countdown to the start of the disco funk. It's definitely a funky beat to this. The fat bass, awesome guitar riff just driving through the whole thing. I mean it is just awesome. And at two minutes when he like that extreme bass, I mean it hits you like a friggin wall. You're like bam. So that's awesome.

Speaker 2:

This is just for me it's sort of definitely a club like disco anthem. This is every but universally. This would be accepted because it is such a great sound. And yeah, you do. You sort of wiggle your shoulders back and forth. You can't help but dance to it, move to it. It's just, it's so cool and I love the. You know he sprinkles in just a few English words moonlight, good times. But there's somebody in the background going that's bullshit. So I'm like okay, so you're talking about good times, I guess, hanging out in the moonlight, doing whatever, but somebody somewhere maybe the back of your mind, you're like but it's bullshit. I'm not really enjoying myself. So it's hard to say, because it's such a fun song and so energetic, right.

Speaker 1:

But Snake, you know like are you with somebody who are just deceiving you, right or?

Speaker 2:

is, you know is this are you the deceiver, you know right.

Speaker 2:

Well, I had sort of a like is this reality or fantasy? Mm, hmm, sort of feeling about it because of the duality of the lyrics. You know, good times, bullshit, you know. I mean, I'm like wait a minute. And one of the English lines he has is Mama, she said my dear boy, don't go underground.

Speaker 2:

So, like, is he hiding from something? Mm-hmm, as a snake, mm-hmm, does he need to hide what's going on? Mm-hmm, you know. And then, of course, the, at the end, the all I want to do is play, all I want to do is game, all I want to do is play. So that was where I came up with the okay, is this real versus fantasy? Because he's obviously, you know, he must. Be sitting on his mom's couch Playing video games and she's like don't do this, don't disappear from life. And you know, live in this fantasy, go out and do something. Yeah. And he's like, but I must, I just want to be a snake, hide, hide out, do my thing hard to say, because it's so energetic and fun. Yeah, like, could it be that dark?

Speaker 1:

Who knows it could be. I mean, he's that phenomenal, mm-hmm, you know it could be that meaning, right, but it's, it's an awesome song. It is, it is love it. Yeah, it starts so weird and then just fool, just just get so full.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that bono plan up on a yeah, and then the guitar comes in dee-dee-dee-dee-dee. You're like whoop, where'd that come from? Yeah, funky.

Speaker 1:

Oh great, he is great.

Speaker 2:

He, oh god yeah, some years ago on some Tokyo Countdown he's he was there. Yeah, he's so good live. I'd love to see him live. Oh yeah the whole well, him and his group.

Speaker 1:

Live. I would like to see him also. Yonezu oh my god, he's another one. He's a Pisces. Oh, yonezu is amazing. We should do a dive on him.

Speaker 2:

I, one of our friends, love him too. I can't think of which friend loves we met this person.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, so that person really loves him. I'm like, oh my god.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yes, it's me amazing.

Speaker 1:

She's like yes, so yes, and family too. Family love him too. Anyways, so, last but not least, oh my god.

Speaker 2:

Well, and we've actually talked about this group before we have. We saw them live a couple of times we have, once through curtains for me, and then the second time actually. Well, no, we were at the soundcheck oh yes that's true.

Speaker 1:

So we we wasn't through curtains, we were out there soundcheck, which I'm like, yay for their set on the stage. Oh yeah, I think everybody's for their set, even included me, because I lost my spot to take proper pictures. But you were there, like curtains Many episodes ago. We talked about this event many, many, many episodes ago. Oh, my goodness, you know, in December it's gonna be three years for this podcast. Yes, can you believe that I know three years? It's insane, isn't that crazy?

Speaker 2:

I can't believe it my favorite word insane. It's insane, oh my god, no, it is crazy right Whoa three years girl oh. Okay anyways.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, this group, oh my god, we love them so much. We got to see them in boston, finally, you know, they have gone through some turmoil with their company. They have now left their company and now they're on their own. Yay, and after military service getting back together and regrouping themselves, they're back.

Speaker 1:

Yes so beautifully and we're talking about the rose. You're beautiful. Oh, love, okay, I okay. So my sarin arrived, arrived. I was playing the song towards you because I just One thing that I was not prepared the last time is because this was the song that I just wanted to hear. I didn't want to hear anybody else. This was just the only song I just wanted to hear that week Because I was just having. Well, I told you I was so busy at the office and I'm like I just need something to, like, heal me, and this song was like my healing power, like a healing, that's a healing power. Then I'm like, yeah, this is what I need to hear right now. You know it's just ballad. This has a gospel feel Trans new wave. I mean, oh, it feels so good song. I don't cry it. To my surprise, this is not only saying bite one, but two members. Oh, really, it's a duet. So the voices blended so well that I thought it was just One member, which is usually woosung.

Speaker 2:

But do John also say I was gonna say it would have to be do.

Speaker 1:

John, oh da June, oh my god.

Speaker 2:

I really yeah. I'm bad with Korean names me too, but I was gonna say I think it's him, but yes.

Speaker 1:

so I want to say all right, let's go with, do John, but do Jun Jun.

Speaker 2:

Jun.

Speaker 1:

They take turns, but they're so in sync with vocals that it just blend. Did you just blend perfectly? The build up for this song is so sweet. It's just a love song for fans, you know, just just as a reminder that they're just beautiful the way they are, that they've repeated, like that I mean, oh, I'll cry, I'm crying.

Speaker 2:

Well, I was gonna say, yeah, this, it has a very gentle opening, nice light keyboard, just a rim tap, no actual drum beats happening, very Subtle guitar, and then the music sort of slowly starts to intensify and then it's it's sort of like to Accentuate how elated the artists, the singers, feel as they're talking about, you know, their object, their subject, not object subject, as they're talking about their subject, the person, the person Right. Well, I didn't, I didn't want to just say, you know, girl Boy person, the person, the fans.

Speaker 1:

This is so it's for the fans and they have fans everywhere. So this is just.

Speaker 2:

So, again, gently build up, so that you know there's this intense moment of just telling, telling you Beauty's just a state of mind, you're beautiful the way you are. And then it slows down again and they start back over, so just describing all the things that are great about you and how wonderful you are, until it builds up again, and then, right at the very end, they're sort of just holding that tone. It's just this long, drawn out keyboard tone and the, the voice is just so I don't know, ethereal, celestial, like heavenly. It's just beautiful, it's so beautiful.

Speaker 2:

So everything about this song Is just gorgeous and love. And, like I said, like one of my favorite lines is when they say beauty's just a state of mind, yep and he's, you know, they just talk about love the way you're designed, love the way we intertwine. So you know just that connection and it's just, it's beautiful and it, it does it. It sort of just builds you up, let you down, gently, build you up again and then that that whole ending just sort of draws out how wonderful they think you are.

Speaker 2:

You know what I mean. It's just, it's gorgeous and well, when we saw them live, yes, you could see that they do switch off singing. So I'm not surprised their their voices are blended very well in this, because I really thought it was just who song, saying yeah, I didn't watch the video or anything, so but yeah, no, gorgeous, just everything about it. It's subtle but it's very poignant. Like you, you just feel the love wrapping its arms around you and comforting you and it's it is. It's such a comfort song Because I did the same thing. There were a couple of days when I was like everything stinks and I just don't even want to deal and I listened to this and it just sort of brought my blood pressure down, made me feel good and made me feel good about myself. Yeah, you know what I mean. Like yeah, okay, you know he's not saying directly to me, but the idea that, oh, yeah, just saying this to the world?

Speaker 1:

yeah, definitely, to imagine that they are only singing to you and then, yes, you, we have gone. You know, like I was going through a very hectic time at work and it was very stressing and I just did not want to hear just anything else, but something that could heal me like deeply like in my soul, and this song did that. And If you just lay, just sit down, lay and be something comfortable, put headphones on and just play this song on repeat, oh my god, it's just like rejuvenating right because you feel that good.

Speaker 2:

Well, and I was going to say too, in contrast to like think about the tour we saw for heal, a lot of those songs were sort of talking about overcoming struggle and the fight and the sort of tension going on leading towards healing. This song is actually the heel they've healed here. Yeah, because this, there's nothing negative about it. On the other stuff, you know, there's still sort of turmoil and right anxiety and tension to some of the songs. This one is all about positivity and just everything about it is soothing and healing and gorgeous and beautiful, from the instruments and the music and the way they work it to the voices just being so calm and so soothing. And he, he does, who song especially, has a very distinct voice, very distinct sound. It's just amazing, amazing. You know you could listen to him. He's another one.

Speaker 1:

he could read the directions to pancake mix, and I'd be right. He can sing it to any tone and I'll be like what, what? A couple of, what, two eggs and what you know like.

Speaker 2:

You know, and that's well, think he's done a couple of collaborations recently, yes, with other artists and one of them is with sugar, with the song.

Speaker 1:

I wasn't gonna say with the song, but yes, which is perfect. Oh my God, when he voice breaks, I'm like, oh my God, yes, watch, I'm sorry, but no, exactly, but it's true. I mean he sings and it's just like what is just what? You just get a walk. That's why I feel what? Yeah Well, because it's his voice is so warm.

Speaker 2:

Yes, the timber of his voice, that tone he gets is just it's warm. You just feel it. Yeah, go around you and you're like I feel safe, and happy, exactly yeah, so he's, it's great. It's great you know which?

Speaker 1:

song I will love to sing to him Three Leavens Amber. Who? Three Leavens Amber?

Speaker 2:

Oh OK.

Speaker 1:

Amber is the color of your energy. That's what his energy is. Yes, it's this amber, this warmth, golden glow. Yes, well, I'm gonna be singing that song and think of Wuzang, because that's how, that's what he meant. He just immense, he just vibes this warmth, like you said, and just amber is the color of your energy.

Speaker 2:

Whoa that they came to Wuzang.

Speaker 1:

Actually the rose, because they're also sweet.

Speaker 2:

Right, yes, no, absolutely.

Speaker 1:

They're so cute and they're not coming to Boston. I'm mad about that, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Not trying to single him out, because actually Do Jun? We're saying his name all wrong. I know we are. He's, like everybody does, amazing because obviously you know the music that I'm talking about in the background is the the rest of the band also contributing, but it's a lot of times with a song like this, because it's slower and gentler, your focus is on the voice Right. So between the two of them, they definitely, yeah, lulled me into a beautiful place.

Speaker 1:

They both blend so well that you just think it's just one, and when I found out it was both of them, I'm like whoa, that is just crazy, yeah, and I love it still.

Speaker 2:

So now I'm going to have to listen to it more because I'm like how did I not? I just thought it was him sort of changing his tone Right.

Speaker 1:

Me too, because we know very well that you know. So they both got the voice.

Speaker 2:

Yes, lulls you, and oh my God encompasses you and holds you, but it is beautiful, gorgeous song. So if you need something to just kick back with a glass of wine and reflect on your day, pick this one, because it'll. It'll just calm you down. Yes, it'll make you feel better about everything, because, I mean, I don't even know how many times they tell you you're beautiful.

Speaker 1:

Yes, exactly.

Speaker 2:

And there's a lot of reasons why yeah.

Speaker 1:

Definitely you'll feel good about it, you just mind.

Speaker 2:

I love the way that you're designed.

Speaker 1:

Yes, oh my God, that's right. I'm like, oh my God.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like I said, if a guy said that to me I'd be like OK, let's go, I'm good. When do we get married? All right, come on.

Speaker 1:

Gee, that's all you need.

Speaker 2:

Well, they'd have to say it with his voice.

Speaker 1:

Oh no, that's your only one. There's only one more song. Oh, let's keep thinking it. Really imitate that. Well now you all know Guys out there, they want to charm. Or again, I want to get Sarah to marry you. Oh my God, all right.

Speaker 2:

Well anyway, so definitely, we highly recommend all of these songs. Oh yeah, you know we had our reservations about the four EVE, but it's still good to listen to.

Speaker 1:

It's still interesting, it's a great club song Expose yourself to music. I'm just a little poo poo'd about the lyrics, right, but the ladies did amazingly. This is what I want to say the ladies, the talent, amazing lyrics, poo poo. So, whoever wrote the lyrics. I'm poo pooing you, I'm not poo pooing the girls. The girls are amazing. Right, it's just the lyrics.

Speaker 2:

Well, they could have said the things they wanted to be saying without saying them the way they did Exactly.

Speaker 1:

You can definitely, but can you phrase it differently?

Speaker 2:

No, you know, try and be a little more subtle about it.

Speaker 1:

Even if there's guys, they're just singing about girls, like that. We're like I don't know it's a turn off, right, it's like you're trying to be cute poo. No, that's just so desperate. You know you sound like you know, so no, it's no. And some people do like this kind of songs, like yeah, there you go, enjoy yourself, but for me I don't like the lyrics.

Speaker 2:

You know I would feel uncomfortable singing out in public. You know, if you're in the club and you're just dancing, you can sort of.

Speaker 1:

You know I can see this girls night out, everybody at karaoke drunk out of their minds. Then you can sing this. So there you go, good karaoke song. I like boys Tell my friends, yeah, this will.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know what? And also that comes back to though the whole idea of the double standard cause. Like men can sing about it and we may not necessarily like it, but you know, it's again one of the things. The lyrics are there and you sing them and sometimes you stop and think about them and go wait a minute.

Speaker 2:

Okay, right, cause I definitely there are plenty of inappropriate songs that I do like, but I keep it secret cause I'm like I don't want people thinking like I'm running around going yeah, so that's why I said I think some man wrote this and was just like I'm glad you see it's true because sort of like some of the costumes. I'm like some guy said, yeah, dress up like Sailor Moon, cause you know I love that. So this is, this is like a guy who this is what he wants to hear.

Speaker 1:

So anyway, you know what? Let me see if I can find the credits of this song.

Speaker 2:

They're wrong that it was written by a man. I'll be so.

Speaker 1:

Written by prong prison. P r o n g p r a I s o n. I don't know who that is. Produced by Ben Bezzie. Listen to this all the producer name Daddy K. Well, there you go. Nino Nino, not Irish Nino. It's just some guy named, or person named Nino, not our Nino. And then, oh, my god, what, just me imagining craziness. And then, so what is the other? I guess I don't know. Sawat is the other producer for this song.

Speaker 2:

But anyway. So definitely check them all out. They're all great songs and they all satisfy a different part of. For me anyways, like sometimes I want that AI Bay and sometimes I want the gentle beauties, just a state of mind. So if you're like me, like us, you just want music, you want music, and so there's a mood for all of these for sure. So I guess we're all set. Going to wrap it up, oh no, what it's a female prom.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I'm like. Let me double check this. Oh man, Well she wrote it, or she's a producer Hold on, I'm just not over here like oh, ok, ok, performed by four Eve, written by wrong, praise on. Well, there goes our theory.

Speaker 2:

I know.

Speaker 1:

So it's not written by a man, is written by a female she. Let me look her up. According to this, she is at 411 Music Group, lived in Los Angeles, born in Thailand. Signature writer, composer and producer Kind of the world, united States. Her music has been placed in one of the big shows like Orange is the New Black L Club, life Below Zero. She has several other prestigious film and film festival. Prom is capable to of creating various types of music, both songs and underscore music, in styles such as pop, edm, dramatic, emotional and in the instrument music. While battling through the struggles of being a female composer, prong continues building her substantial musical skillset.

Speaker 2:

OK, well, I still can't be on board with her lyric writing. How's that for this particular song?

Speaker 1:

OK.

Speaker 2:

I guess now we're done. Thank you everybody for joining us today.

Speaker 1:

Please rate, review and share share, share. I'm like, so like, oh my God, I'm over here, Pooh the lyrics and it's written by a female. We thought it was a male because it just sounded like it was just not something I would expect. No, I wasn't either OK.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, everybody.

Speaker 1:

Bye, bye.
