DJ Panic Blog:
OK ASIA

Speaker 2:

Hello, this is Panic and this is Sarah and you are listening to Music Elixir a podcast between two friends discussing their favorite Asian artists in music.

Speaker 1:

Hello everybody, I'm DJ Panic and this is Sarah. Welcome to.

Speaker 2:

Music Elixir.

Speaker 1:

As you can tell, I started the program to show the episode the podcast. I've been on, I've been on hiatus. If you know me from OK Asia, if you're new to the podcast, I usually introduce shows, but I have been taking a break because it's Thanksgiving week. We're recording on November 26, 2023.

Speaker 2:

Happy birthday. Oh no, oh, my God, that's so true.

Speaker 1:

Happy birthday to Lita.

Speaker 2:

Yep, I went ahead and posted, even though it was a day early for us, because I was like you know people, they're expecting it. Of course, it's still his birthday in Japan. It's over now actually. Yeah, it's over in Japan, but still his birthday here.

Speaker 1:

So, of course, and for those who follow OK Asia, because I took this week off to celebrate Thanksgiving, it's been with family and friends. I actually played the archive where you and I celebrated his 40th birthday on November 28th. Oh, was that. Wow yeah 2020 of 2020. You know it was a, it was a belated birthday, but we wanted to do it together because, of course, it was Thanksgiving, because his birthday actually landed on Thanksgiving that year?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that year.

Speaker 1:

And we had our families and whatnot, and and that's what's going to be a very special birthday because of being the 40. Mm, hmm, and you know we were decorated. You, you brought a lot of decorations for his birthday. There was a cake.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we did up the whole studio, yes, and that was a good time. That was a good time. That was a good time.

Speaker 1:

And you know what that was through the pandemic.

Speaker 2:

I know it was.

Speaker 1:

We were wearing masks.

Speaker 2:

We were wearing the cake.

Speaker 1:

Of course, but we were distanced, you know, like we have plenty of room, that we didn't have to be on top of each other. Yes, and I know the studio was even like COVID regulated, remember that plexiglass, yeah, the big plexiglass, and the, the disinfecting wipes everywhere everywhere, everywhere. I think that during pandemic is the most clean that we have. I mean, we still have some other wipes, but but now it's not as often as you know, people, not a lot of people being using it, just like you know, during that time, but we keep.

Speaker 1:

now it's clean not super clean like it was back then. But hey, that was, we still have some time, we have some. It was great, yeah, so some, some people who just started listening to OK Asia. They didn't know about that archive, so some operations were like, oh my God, did he start listening to the? But this was so amazing and you're there with it.

Speaker 1:

This is so cool. I can read some of the tweets that I got from Lauren with the aeration she was like, oh my God, I wish I could have. I could have you know, known you from back then. I didn't know that you guys were fans for so long.

Speaker 2:

Oh, really, you know, yeah, wow.

Speaker 1:

So I'm like that's awesome. Though I'm glad that you know, I was like you know what it's going to be owner's weekend, I'm like let me bring back that episode because it was fun. It was. It was a fun episode and there were some awesome song played on that weekend too, and of course I still that was just still the time where I have the Johnny's hour.

Speaker 2:

Oh yes, that's right, your unofficial Johnny's hour, my unofficial Johnny's hour. I still have that, so it was, like you know, reminiscing of the Johnny hour in well, it was an awesome episode because you played all of O'noe's solos oh my God I love. And that was the year I dyed my hair blue. Yes, I did the bad boy blue. Yes, I was in honor of his bad boy song. Yes, oh my God, that was so good, that was so much fun, it was so much fun.

Speaker 1:

We, we, yeah, we. We ate that out of snacks. Took some pictures. We still have that picture somewhere around, right.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I'm sure. Well, I definitely. I saved all the photos from it.

Speaker 1:

So Of course, so wouldn't I. So there will be another repeat of that show again on Monday, november 27th, so after his birthday.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm going to repeat this all the way We'll have already. This episode won't come out in time for that either.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But you know, we're telling you about it anyways, because so you know, of course that it's out there.

Speaker 1:

It's out there. It will be a an archive. Another archive on it. This is cool because we did not have archive then, right?

Speaker 2:

A Valley for you.

Speaker 1:

So that's going to be archived for a few weeks. So that's cool. So this oration said I don't know if I should say orations name, but anyways the ex Twitter, you know message says I enjoyed the three hour archive. I had not come across, okay, Asia at the time and this was my first time listening to the broadcast. I enjoyed the chatting with you and Sarah, as always, and it was nice to know that you guys love Rishi musics instead.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah, oh, since before then.

Speaker 1:

Sarah's been an oration Wow, longer, long time. I just went into the rabbit hole hole of Rishi.

Speaker 2:

Thanks to Sarah.

Speaker 1:

So I'm more of a new East. I still consider myself a new we, though, and then uh, so the tweet goes still going uh, you said even then that I was your favorite. It is still this birthday coming up soon, in December, I know, and uh, and then finish it off saying thank you for the wonderful time time trip to 2020 and thanks for congratulating Satoshi with love, and then a lot of you know, the purple and the red and and all the hearts for each member of Rishi.

Speaker 1:

So thank you to the oration for the wonderful.

Speaker 2:

I'm glad you know I'm enjoying going a time travel to then especially with a member that we haven't really gotten here much from since the hiatus happened.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, no, he he. I told you, he took that yeah.

Speaker 2:

No, he ran with that, it's like.

Speaker 1:

I'm gone.

Speaker 2:

You will not hear, you see me, but I'm I'm glad that the uh name, yet to be announced company is still acknowledging him. Yeah, that's awesome. They did their little birthday tweets for him. Yes, along with the actual Rishi Twitter X, whatever it is now. Oh my God.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so another oration said DJ Panixxan, thank you for remembering Satoshi's birthday, even though you are on vacation. I appreciate your thoughtfulness in this, the 2020 archive. If so, I may not have heard this broadcast. I'm very much looking forward to it. So these are all tweets and whatnot See.

Speaker 2:

These are newer or iterations or iterations, not new or iterations for people who just yeah, people who just discovered your show recent years, yes, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So that's cool. Thank you for those who left lovely messages. Thank you, thank you, thank you and of course, you know Botanjo Biometodo, you, mr.

Speaker 2:

Mono Satoshi, my boy. I miss him.

Speaker 1:

So lately Ms Sarah is really feeling it. You really miss him. You're actually vocalizing it. Yes, you know. Well, you know.

Speaker 2:

I could cry about it. If I talk about him too much, I get sad. I miss him, I do. I adore him. We got to go to Japan so I could tell him.

Speaker 1:

By the way, we had a little sake, or is that some old sake, and maybe that's why Sarah is not like oh, I miss you.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know we have been threatening to do a drinking episode, so this is it, I guess.

Speaker 1:

Well, we're not going to keep drinking. We just had one.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we just we had a little bit. Well, we had a few minutes to wait around before we started recording. So we decided you know, hey, now's the perfect time. Have a little drink, relax, yes, yes because it was some craziness.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so before we start talking about more about our favorite artist or news that we have come across, how was your dance keeping? Well, let's have a little personal talk, since this is a Rance and Rambling.

Speaker 2:

Well, family came out. Yeah, my parents came out to see me and my sister, which, you know. We love our parents dearly, we really do. But my dad and I are like oil and water sometimes, and so of course there were a few moments of tension, I guess you could say but no, for the most part it was. It was really good, it was nice to hang out with them for a few days. But you know, you know how it is when you're all hanging in a tight space and trying to, you know, get in each other's way. So but it was good. Otherwise, we had a nice dinner, drank three bottles of wine.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's where the tensions got released. The tension.

Speaker 2:

No, no, that actually helped remove the really that alleviate the tension.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes.

Speaker 2:

No, we can fight about. You know, a napkin falling on the floor in my family.

Speaker 1:

OMG, omg.

Speaker 2:

Like not, you know, not horrible, but like just you snap at each other Because you're like what are you doing? What are you doing? I don't know what are you doing.

Speaker 1:

You know you pick at each other and, knowing you, you're probably giving sass to your dad.

Speaker 2:

All the time. Well, he's, his car is, I guess, on the way out, it's making some horrible noise in the front, and it's this old car, so he wants to get a new one. Okay, and he kept insisting that I get on my computer and look up new cars for him. I'm like how about I just hand you my computer and you look up stuff? But he's he's not real tech savvy, right? So, anyway, he's pretty much determined that he's going to buy the car I have, the Subaru. Okay. And he's like now it's not even a matter of like attempting to fix his car or anything. He's like nope, nope, I'm just going to go buy a new Subaru. I was like okay, okay, wow, all right, dad, he's like well, I like your car. When you're driving us around, it's really comfortable. And I was like okay, so Okay.

Speaker 1:

What did? What kind of car he has now?

Speaker 2:

He has a Hyundai, like a bigger one, the Santa Fe or something Right, and he's like it's too big for me, you know, but he still wants to have space to.

Speaker 1:

To log stuff around. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

He's. He's sort of like a pack rat. He goes out, he finds a chair he likes, he just grabs it and, you know, throws it in the back of the car. So, okay, he likes to go to yard sales and stuff. Yeah, that's what he does.

Speaker 1:

So your dad is we'll be good with a hatchback. Yeah Well, that's what mine is the cross track is like a.

Speaker 2:

it is qualifies as an SUV, but it's not Right. Really big actually.

Speaker 1:

So, speaking of Subaru's, I was looking into an Impressa hatchback.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I like Impressa's too.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God. I found one that I was like oh my God, I love it. And then I'm like, no, I can't afford it.

Speaker 2:

And I'm like you know, you know well, I think Impressa's like the low end. Yeah, cost wise it's a bit lower.

Speaker 1:

So that's what I think. Maybe your dad will like an Impressa better. And the hatchback is not too bad. It has pretty, it's pretty roomy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but they're lower to the ground, okay. My dad's never, even when he was a young man in the Air Force, was not flexible, was?

Speaker 1:

not a limber person, oh so he needs, it will be easier for him to get out.

Speaker 2:

The height is what he needs for getting in and out.

Speaker 1:

I did like that, impressa the hatchback, but yeah, I was kind of low so I was. So I have the CRV, which is taller, right now. And yes, it's easy to get in and out. Girl, when I bought that car and I was trying to get in it, I almost fell over because I used to drive the. You remember the Integra I had. No, I used to have girl, I used to drive an Acura Integra, oh wow.

Speaker 2:

One of these.

Speaker 1:

Zoomy cars. Yeah, I was gonna say, hello, this is like pre-family. So you know, I'm around like yeah, look at me with this sporty car and I'm like zooming around like, yeah, speed of course. So of course I had to trade it in for the soccer mom car and you know, going again with the same. You know, family, you know, went with the Honda CRV. Yeah, because of the room on the back, exactly, yeah, and I love my car, but of course it's an old, seven Major repairs, oh yeah, and I do want to keep the CRV. Now, the CRVs don't look the same. What I love about my CRV is it doesn't have the middle console, it just has that little table. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Now it has big thing with the.

Speaker 1:

In the middle. Yeah For holders in the charging stations and all that yeah. So I'm like like I really want to trade it in because I do like them.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's a funny thing. Is my dad's like? I just I don't want that TV because you know how mine has. Oh, the screen. I was like Dad, every new car has those now. Yeah, you're not going to get away from having that. No, I was like, but you don't have to use it. You know, you can set it to just be on your radio station and all you'll ever see is the radio on there. It's just I plug my phone in.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I can, you know, find my music and if someone calls, I can answer the phone. You know stuff like that. But he doesn't need all that. He doesn't even have a fancy enough phone for it.

Speaker 1:

So In other words, when it's time for him to get a car, you'll probably have to go with him.

Speaker 2:

Well, he's going tomorrow. He already made an appointment. Oh yeah, After we checked a couple of different cars and I was trying to tell him. You know, like, when I was searching for my car, I was like these are certain. I had certain criteria. I've always loved Subaru's. My first car was a Subaru. I traded in my old, ancient Subaru to get the new Subaru. So I've always had Subaru's. I just like them and I was like, well, they've actually got the highest safety rating. I like my car because it's taller underneath.

Speaker 1:

So here, with our horrible winters, oh yeah, for a winter garbage roads yeah.

Speaker 2:

I won't be scraping the bottom of the car Right. You know, things like that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And I did tell him you know there's other makes that have similar style cars like like Hyundai has the Kona, which is very similar, right size wise and stuff, but it's shorter underneath. And he's like no, no, I like your car and like that's the thing is, my dad's reached a point where he's he gets something in his head and, yeah, there is no changing his mind about it. So the minute he sort of decided like I threw a couple of important things at him. It's taller underneath, yeah, because they get pretty bad weather where they are.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, I'll look, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So, you know, I was like it's taller, it's got high safety rating, it's all wheel drive, which I think is a good thing to have. He was just like, nope, that's what I want. I was like, well, you know, the forester is bigger, the outback is bigger. If you need more room, no, no, no, no, I want the cross. So there's no changing his mind now, that's what he's going to get.

Speaker 1:

But another cool thing I do I like about the Subaru that if is to have getting to an accident, the motor drops. There's a special feature that that front end drops and it will not then collide into with the passengers. Oh okay, yeah, they never told you that.

Speaker 2:

No, oh, then now you know it must be a newer thing, because it's just they've always been. The body of them is just reinforced better than a lot of other cars.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, when I was looking into it. One of the sales girls, I love her.

Speaker 2:

If she's still there.

Speaker 1:

I want to go get you know if I will get a Subaru from her, because she was, she was very knowledgeable, she was telling me about the things and I was like, yeah, I'm kind of like looking into either a hatchback, impressa or maybe you know, like yours. And then when I said Impressa, she loves the Impressas, she likes the Zooming, oh, I do too.

Speaker 2:

I do, I love them. She was like, but I was like they're low to the ground.

Speaker 1:

Then she was telling me there, was like one model of the Impressas that were not longer going to be selling or discontinued the sporty, one, oh, okay. She was telling us we had one here.

Speaker 1:

They brought it in, and then the owner which I'm not going to say because he's not sponsoring us, said to the crew it's like go give a test ride to this. This is the last model, is not going to come back, you know, so that you can get the feel of it and then so you can help sell it. She said nobody wanted to drive it but her. Really.

Speaker 1:

And she was like she was telling the guys and they're all guys, because she's the only female in the group and it's like guys, this is the last model of the Impressas. Blah, blah, blah, she has this. And that family was like, oh my God, you drove it. You guys have one, I love that one. And I'm like so they were going off, they were like really chitchatting that way and I'm like I do like Impressas, but I don't know all that stuff that you're giving. So they, I just let them talk shop, let's say, and you know, she was very, she's very knowledgeable of Subaru. She's like this is the company that I've worked with before. I know all the in and outs. So I was like, yeah, she's still there. I will definitely buy one from her because she was great.

Speaker 2:

Well, it's funny because my sister needs a new car and she's been.

Speaker 1:

Really, I am the impressive oh my god, I hope she's still there, and that's been a gore year. And I was looking so, oh my god, if I find the name, I'll let you know. Okay, cool, but she was cheese amazing. She either still lives in Northampton or not, but uh, but yeah, she loves Northampton and she likes to live here, anyways.

Speaker 2:

So anyways, yes, it was good, good family time.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we spend it with friends and family, friends in Connecticut. We were in Connecticut, good times, of course, great meal, great company, that's it.

Speaker 2:

Well, I was gonna say you had a different dynamic. Mm-hmm, you don't have to argue with Right. Well, you don't get on each other's nerves. Quite the same way.

Speaker 1:

No, no, it's, we were just chilling, that's what we did. But Friday we went to Boston. Ah, yes, we saw a family posted some photos, oh yeah, I went to Boston for a have it versus UMass hockey game.

Speaker 2:

What, what? That must have been a tough one to decide. Who are you gonna root for? I was. I went with my UMass boys. I was gonna say the home team, right.

Speaker 1:

I went with the UMass boys, so family was divided because one family one was going to UMass. Family too is all about how that lately. And they were wearing their Harvard you know sweat things. They even went to the coop which they have, the All the merch for the, for the college.

Speaker 1:

Yeah went over and bought some gloves as a Harvard and I'm like, oh, you need out the pom-poms and everything else, but they were not selling. No, like, how about they had? You know what it's like. Didn't want to master a hair, so they didn't get the heart they have but it would have wore the hat, of course you know, but oh my god, what a game. Oh, wow, you mass awesome. Like I said, go home team we were walking towards the, the awesome arena, awesome hockey right ring.

Speaker 2:

Was it a goddess, or do they have no one to Boston? No, I know a goddess is in Boston, though.

Speaker 1:

No, no, that's the BU, the.

Speaker 2:

Harvard has its own.

Speaker 1:

Yes, girl, oh oh, girl is being.

Speaker 2:

this is like I forgot the year very old, since I only walk through their campus and you know.

Speaker 1:

Well, you know how, is very old, so the ring was even old because they even kept the wood Ceiling. Oh, wow, yeah, so they kept some of the originality of the of the hockey rings. Yeah, it's very small, doesn't? It's not for some, you know, but it's very quaint, but it was so much fun. Let's say, yeah, it's very different vibe than going to like the ball and center.

Speaker 2:

Yeah Well, ours, because ours is brand new, yes, and it's not anymore. It's not brand new anymore, but it is huge, it's, it's much newer than anything at Harvard would be well, I just wasn't sure, because, I mean, harvard is such an old school, I wasn't sure if they had updated enough to have their own the the university is here and the their Olympic.

Speaker 1:

You also have a track, then they have the baseball and they have all the Olympic or whatever Sports thing on the other side of the other river.

Speaker 2:

Oh oh yeah, and it's right there, so it's not part of the campus, see, that's why I probably I'm not familiar with it.

Speaker 1:

all you have to cross the river for that. So the bridge and it's right there, so really cool. So anyways, after we parked and we were heading over to the rink, a few people just wearing like UMass stuff, and I'm like.

Speaker 1:

Well, this is good, this is good. It was a couple in front of us. The lady got her her UMass pom-pom. The guys were in his UMass jersey, you know. And then and we're going and I'm like, see, I said to family, you know, and that's, I think there's gonna be a lot of UMass people here. You, the Harvard one, you might be a number. They're like no, I think there's gonna be a lot of Harvard. I'm like, okay, let's see when we get there. So I'm like, of course, being the uh, the past Pisces riled up, I see the people in front of me and I'm like go UMass. They'll look behind like, and I'm like see, all the people over there, they're all UMass just walking into. So I'm like there's already like six people, like counted, going in. They were UMass fans.

Speaker 2:

I'm like cool, Well, it's close enough. You know what I mean, oh what the couple that you don't? You don't have to travel far to See the competing teams in mass tucis, so the couple in front of us.

Speaker 1:

They're like so where are you coming? We're like ever. They're like oh, shoots, very like. So they drove, you know. So I'm like awesome. So the guy was all into it, started and this and this and all, and they started taking his name favorite. I guess he's a very fan of umass hockey or he's an alumni Sorry naming names In which kids he's actually following, you know. And this guy is like Maybe in his like early 60s oh really, yeah, this like mom and mom and pops.

Speaker 2:

You know I was gonna say, yeah, they might have. Well, they'd be a little old for a kid in UMass right but maybe they had. You know a lot of alumni Whose kids played, or they played right, still go to all these games and they still follow. Yeah, you know so.

Speaker 1:

So it's like so that got me thinking. You know that we like our young groups, and then there's this Older couple following these young guys because they're like in their early 20s playing hockey, and I'm like, see, that's no different when you follow your favorite team and then you're following your favorite like boy band or, you know, girl group, you know there's no difference Exactly anybody comes on, I'm like, listen, I met some guy and he was like close to his 70s.

Speaker 1:

He's following college hockey and naming me the guys that he's, he follows, that he likes and they're like could be their grandkids. Come on, yeah, exactly I do the same thing with my kids. You know they're my kids, lombie, you know there's nothing weird. Shuh anyways. But let me tell you that rink was full of UMass followers, really, of course you get UMass followers there. What's gonna happen? Go UMass. They keep hearing. I'm like, yeah, this is gonna be a UMass game. It was a UMass game.

Speaker 2:

It was awesome, awesome it was awesome.

Speaker 1:

We had three, three guys in front of my dad, son and, I guess, the son's friend, and Of course dad is a Harvard alumni. I mean, he was loud, he was like OMG. And of course families like, see, we can we read? I'm like mm-hmm, whatever. And then I see the, his kids. They're like are you mad? I'm like, yes, they were having their own thing.

Speaker 2:

I was gonna say, that must have made for a good ride home, right, dad?

Speaker 1:

was loud and then dad is like anybody wants a beer? And I'm like and then when he came back he was louder, louder, oh god, yeah, and if you wanted alcohol you needed to be an all-mind up to be have a beer. And they have their own lounge, oh really, oh yeah, because family try to get into get a beer. It's like no alumni only. Yeah, pardon me, okay, and I'm like well, honey, you didn't go to Harvard, you get no alcohol.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my god, exactly. I was looking into the lounge. I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna punch people in there. Well, it is Harvard and it's Harvard, but we have so much fun. We found an awesome Thai restaurant. Oh cool. Yes, so for our outing, if you go out there in Cambridge it's like in a basement Good food, good price. Wow, even better. Exactly Because sometimes it's like good price, oh food, you know. You know what I mean. Oh yeah, definitely.

Speaker 2:

Anyways, alrighty, so we want to talk about news. Well, sure, well, I was gonna say in the in the theme of Thanksgiving celebration yes, there's always the, the big parade down in New York City. Oh, yes, macy's Day Parade, and we had an hyphen, yes, performed with the baby shark float. That was interesting.

Speaker 1:

Uh yeah, that's what I thought too. I'm like, why the baby?

Speaker 2:

shark. Well, their song was about the ocean. Yeah you know, not about baby shark, but I mean, I guess that was sort of how they themed it together.

Speaker 1:

Did? Was it something also for, uh, climate change or something? Do you know?

Speaker 2:

Well, it could be, I don't know. Is some sort of well, isn't there a baby shark movie coming out to? I mean, I don't know. Oh okay, I think, yeah, it was all sort of combined promotion. They just sort of did all that. I wasn't Up on all the the reasoning behind it.

Speaker 1:

But right, I know family was very happy that they performed and they gave them a whole.

Speaker 2:

They sang the whole song. Yeah, they got to do we. Yeah, you saw the whole performance, yes, which usually, yeah, they just do a short snippet from it or whatever, but they got their whole song in. That was cool. But then, ha ha ha ha, I am the news of they were showing up on a tv show. Just say it girl Say it Good morning America. What a debacle that was, wow. I didn't see it, but I've been Hearing like all the aftermath on x.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you can find the snippets of it on oh yeah, oh, I'm sure, I'm sure it's on youtube everything Mm-hmm. So they, uh, apparently were not very well informed About the group or their music. Of course, like always the members, anything they pronounced the name wrong twice, not once twice. Oh my god, I thought just once Wow.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, the lady said, which I don't even want to say her name, and we have in the in the studio I pen, I know. And then I guess somebody in her ear said it's not like that, it's not like that so so she went to say it again, and she still said it when she went to introduce because of course they performed Mm-hmm, Of course great Um and pen.

Speaker 2:

And then she from I pen to and from I pen to m pen.

Speaker 1:

You know, I got an eye, I got a pen. Uh, I pen, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I read a plenty of tweets somebody was like the high is hiding in the corner crying to itself oh my god, yeah, but like you know, because sometimes we mispronounce names but we don't, we don't hear them Right. If we were to interview them, we would be talking to people finding out how do you say this that this was apparently. Nobody did any research whatsoever. They were just trying to, I guess, get the Props for having the boys on their show right.

Speaker 2:

But I guess also, you know, a couple of the members are fluent in English and, like the host hostess I'm not sure which one was like complimenting them on how well they speak.

Speaker 1:

English. Oh my god, when they do that you know?

Speaker 2:

why do you even need to like? Why do you say that they're speaking? You know your English is better than my Korean. You know, like lady or dude, I don't know who said it.

Speaker 1:

It was the lady, because what I saw was just the lady just chit-chatting and. I'm like oh, my god.

Speaker 2:

It was a couple, it was a guy and I don't know what, a woman, and she was the one like making the major, like errors. Oh, that's awful. Well, you know, I mean, I guess people aren't immune, but like you know, at least with JK, like you've heard his name everywhere, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

And somebody pronounced his name wrong too. So I mean, it happens and I guess you know, in the heat of the moment you're like but if you're a fan and you're excited to be interviewing them, I would think you would say it correctly, or make sure you know what it is and say it correctly. But yeah, no that, wow, just like I said, I didn't see any of it. I've just been reading all this stuff and people are like yeah they're tearing the one up, they're tearing them up, and you know what?

Speaker 1:

Yes, because that's what happens you know, with a lot of these. You know American TV shows that introduce groups like that and you really don't look into it. Like Monster X, they keep calling them monster and it's not monster, it's monster. Even Johanna is like it's monster, monster, monster X. And you know Johanna is not going to like I don't care where you from.

Speaker 2:

You need to say this correctly, well, I would think I am to be like because he's the one who speaks English more than the rest of the stuff, you think he'd be the first one to be like?

Speaker 1:

excuse me, Exactly no, johanna, I think Johanna.

Speaker 2:

Well, I mean well, because no matter what language you speak, when you hear your name wrong you know you're going to speak up about it, but oh my God, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, of course, but, but there was more of a shit show going on outside the studio. Oh, really, yes, the Sansei fans, the crazy fans, the little ones, oh, yeah. They had a barricade that it got so crazy. They took down the barricade not once, but twice. Oh wow, they had to rush the boys in and out of the building a few times, Wow.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, that's, that's because somebody underestimated their popularity.

Speaker 1:

Of course that's what people are saying. Where was the security? There was no security. If they were, they were just standing there doing nothing. And you know so that was another thing. The security for the boys was not well prepared for that.

Speaker 1:

Well, you know, yeah, and you wonder why these kids are like I'm taking a hiatus for mental health. You know right, you know not just only from they got the crazy schedule, the crazy work. You know working nonstop. And then you have the crazy fans that it's like they're. Yeah, you get mentally drained just from all that.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely, you know protect the boys, protect all these idols. You know, and I hope that out of they still remember a lot of the good things which you know. During the little flu, you know, the fans are around waving at them and whatever, and they remember that goodness of all, the fans are just being there supporting them and just loving what they do. Oh my God.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, girl, yeah, so that was some of the oh wait, there was other big news, because it dropped right after we had recorded a previous episode the last four members of BTS started their enlistment process.

Speaker 1:

I'm not sure not be crying. I'm glad.

Speaker 2:

I'm glad.

Speaker 1:

This was. Everybody was waiting for it. They did drag it a little bit. I'm trying to get a lot, but I'm glad that they're all going.

Speaker 2:

Well, we had talked about I don't know if we did during our episode, but just when we get together and talk about stuff we had been saying, you know, if they're planning to reunite in 2025 and start doing stuff again, the rest of them have to get the ball rolling. So, they have started the process, but our, our Jin, will be back in June. He gets out. So you know we'll only have a few months where there will be no activity from any of them, because we're just fine.

Speaker 1:

You know, I think Jin likes, like, is liking this. I'm just I'm thinking that he is liking this. Let me just go first Do my thing. He apparently he did really awesome in the military. Yes, like hello. I think he needed that. You know she's like what can I do for myself without them? I want to do something for myself.

Speaker 2:

Well, because he is, he is a leader. Even even though RM is the leader of BTS, right, as the oldest, he still had the responsibility of sort of paving. You know, not paving but setting the example in the group, and you know, everybody looked up to him. So I think, yeah, he was like I'm just, I'm going to go first, I'll take the plunge, I'm the oldest, I have to anyways, and but he's, he's showing his leadership skills there in the military and I think that'll serve him well. You know, when he's out, sort of maybe have a new perspective on you know, right, or? Or he'll be more comfortable going back into the. I don't want to be in charge, see, this is why I was not the leader of BTS, exactly, I'm going to go back to my I did what I needed to do.

Speaker 1:

Let me be now.

Speaker 2:

Exactly, which is great.

Speaker 1:

But will he'll take a break from the group and the military to do all the things?

Speaker 2:

Focus on his stuff. Maybe he'll go back to his wine making, right?

Speaker 1:

Jin won, you know, yeah, Made by. Oh my God.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, endless possibility.

Speaker 1:

It will definitely sell out. You know, he's what I have seen. He's likes to do the culinary thing.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

You know her, her, his brother has the, the, the restaurant you know, and, yeah, the wine making, maybe that, well, that's. You know, you cannot be an idol forever, so of course, you look for something that you're passionate about and, you know, make a living out of that Right Focus on that we're going to be in the food industry, you know, and culinary arts or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Go for it. So we wish him the best. Yes, definitely so. Speaking of BTS members, uh-huh, oh my God, girl, what the collab. The collab For me is like the collab JK and Mr Justin Tay.

Speaker 2:

Justin Timberlake yes.

Speaker 1:

Yes, with 3D Girl. Oh my God, oh my God. Of course that was like such a wonderful Thanksgiving week. So, yes, 3d remix oh my God, that's long. Drop on November 24. The two of them are my favorites and, of course, this is like my favorite remix.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was going to say it was really good when I was listening to it.

Speaker 1:

The vocals, the vocals, goose pumps. Oh, I like electrified. I enjoy this because, of course, jt, being in there, got that 2000, early 2000s vibes and they're both are so amazing together.

Speaker 2:

Yes, definitely. Oh, my God, of course you know that and it was such a surprise when they announced. I was like what? Yeah, there was no little like peep about that anywhere.

Speaker 1:

It's like you don't need it because hello JK and JT I know, right, that's all you need, and everybody just went off.

Speaker 2:

I went off, I was like oh my God.

Speaker 1:

I got to listen to this and I'm like, yeah, my repeat, this is my favorite 3D.

Speaker 2:

My favorite.

Speaker 1:

The original is good. I'm like yeah, the original, I like it, but now we got JT in there. Love it, love it, love it, love it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, it definitely was awesome.

Speaker 1:

Love it. I can't. I just can't have enough of it.

Speaker 2:

Because, oh, I love it, and I'm trying to think, oh, did you see? I came across it by accident. I didn't get to do a lot of looking at news and stuff because, with my family out, my dad's always yelling at me why are you on your phone, why are you on the computer?

Speaker 2:

So I didn't get to do a lot, but the funniest thing I saw because people were posting it everywhere at the JYP performance. Oh my God, I don't mean to laugh, but I was like just when they were showing the reaction of the audience to what was going on. I was like, wow, people really are like they're really not vibing it. They were horrifying, they were. There was one clip. They showed a guy like just put his hand over his eyes. I was like shaking it.

Speaker 1:

They were not into it at all. I was fine with it.

Speaker 2:

I know I was. I was like I was like stop, sweet dream. I was like cool, I know.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so let's talk a little bit about that, because I was seeing the snippets of him performing and I was like this is cool, I like this. But then they started showing people's reactions and I'm like what they're not into it. Am I the?

Speaker 2:

only one into it, I know, right, I mean it was a medley, right, it wasn't. Yeah, he started did. Yeah, this whole mix of things. Well, I guess it was. Everybody was like the makeup, the costume, the what I was like. How is it any different than some of the other performances, performances you see from other idols? Yeah, Like everybody has that one outrageous thing where you're like, oh my God, I mean I guess people just didn't like the purple lace jumpsuit.

Speaker 1:

He has worn before, worse before. Remember the clear the clear that you know that for some reason that year there was this clear jumpsuit that everybody wore that it was supposed to be like risque. Yeah, it is risque. I guess that the clear, whatever that was, that's risque. But what he was wearing you know what? I was looking at him and I'm like this is this is not bad.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

What is wrong with this?

Speaker 2:

Well, because it's not the trend right now possibly is the problem, but because people were saying this is worse than the time he wore blah, this is. And I'm like you know. I mean when he came out with that big white coat, yeah, that thing was fabulous, yes, I. And then they take it off him and the purple lace jumpsuit, I mean it's, it is outrageous, but he's a performer, but it was yeah, and he was doing a medley with at least two like 80s, you know songs. Yeah he was like a retro thing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and so I don't know. Yeah, they didn't. Yeah, I saw the people's reactions of like horrified of the performance.

Speaker 2:

Well, some people were sort of clapping along like they just didn't know what else to do. I mean, it was just crazy and of course, with something like that, the media is going to focus on whatever is going to go along with their trend of you know. People were horrified about it, so they were focusing only on reactions that were going to match that vibe. But I was like I don't, I don't know, I didn't think it was that out of you know, left field or anything.

Speaker 1:

It was, it wasn't.

Speaker 2:

I mean for us, no it wasn't no, so well, we have.

Speaker 1:

I guess we have different tastes, but you know it's not like other idols, because it was like EXO. Idols were there too SM, super Junior too, so C1 was there. There's other singers too, you know, and I'm like why are you looking like like he has gone to a deep end, like he doesn't know what else to do, like he's going cray, cray, like? They're looking at him like, like he needs to be institutionalized, right, exactly.

Speaker 2:

That's what he's doing. Why are they shocked by this? They know like this is what he does. It's a. This is team compared to all this stuff Right, but he's a performer and he always pushes the envelope.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

He's obviously I don't know marching to the beat of his own drummer and I guess nobody else liked the beat, but I thought it was pretty wild. It was crazy. I liked it, it was awesome.

Speaker 1:

I was cool, I was looking and I was like, oh wow, jyp. I'm like oh, wow. And then they did the clip of the people and I'm like, oh, why are they? Why are they looking like horrified? Is this from another thing? But no, it was. You know, like people like to sneak things right to make it feel like it's well.

Speaker 2:

That's what I mean about the media, you know, focusing on people in the audience who were like stunned. I'm sure there had to be somebody who was like, yeah, this is awesome, we should have been in there, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Well, they have some lady in a gold dress dancing with him, but she also looked cringy. She was like like okay, I will be like we should be there like doing the moves.

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, you know, but that was just.

Speaker 1:

I was like I, I really yeah, I don't see what was so bad about it, but yeah, I guess you know, I guess for South Korean TV that is just too much, and for us we're like whoa, yeah, what do you want me to go for it?

Speaker 2:

And I wasn't a hundred percent sure of what the event was. Yeah, so maybe it was inappropriate for, but I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Everybody was wearing like tuxes and whatever.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but everybody does for the Grammys and for the Oscars, and crazy stuff goes on at those. So you know, it's just like I said, we have a different we have a different look on it.

Speaker 1:

We don't see anything wrong with his performance. Apparently, his own country is questionable Yep.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know, of course, we're the ones saying the burlesque is an art show, and you know. So it's art, exactly. No, I'm saying art, obviously. If we feel that way about burlesque, his performance is just you know nothing, jyp.

Speaker 1:

I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to be an innovator, you know exactly in your own country. I will like to say that you will appreciate you that your performance to us here, at least two ladies in America, northampton, massachusetts, we founded Entertaining and then your homage to the 80s was really cool. Yes, absolutely, you know, because even the white thing that he was wearing it was giving me like Bowie vibes, right, right. And then the purple lace thing it was thinking of Prince.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, I was totally like this is exactly David Bowie performance artist. Yeah, you know, Prince also was a performance artist. Yeah, Prince sort of just send up to everything. Yeah, 80s, 90s, you know, but well, you know, not everybody is appreciated.

Speaker 1:

You are ahead of your time, jyp. You're so very ahead of your time. I'm sure, like, let's say, next year, somebody will be like, oh my God, we enjoy JYP. And I don't know why people were pooh-ing it. You know, the people in the audience, unfortunately, are not innovators.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say you know Fighting words. Yes, everybody made fun of Elvis in his gold lame suit and now that's one of the iconic looks. Yeah, when you think of Elvis is either the gold lame or those white jumpsuits.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you know, with the cape yes.

Speaker 2:

So you know, someday, exactly everybody's going to be like I want to pull a JYP. Exactly.

Speaker 1:

We'll see probably a younger generation that will probably pull that off too. A match to JYP when he did the 80s thing, you know and people are going to be like oh my God, yes, that was really good. And I'm like mm-hmm, where were you back in? I don't know how many years ago was that? We'll need to say congratulations to Blackpink on November 22nd. The ladies of Blackpink are now honorary members of the Order of the British Empire.

Speaker 2:

I saw Empire Prince Charles, yes, talking with them and yes, so they got their little pink ribbons Blackpink are in recognition of the role as official advocates for the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Speaker 1:

So in glass that's happening. In glass, glass glue go.

Speaker 2:

Glow, glass gal.

Speaker 1:

Thank you. You say Glasgow Okay. And I have a snippet here of during his speech. So during his speech at the banquet, king Charles briefly mentioned the idols by saying I applaud Jenny Jisoo Jisoo, lisa and Rose, better known collectively as Black Pink, for the role in bringing you the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience. I can only admire how they can prioritize these viral issues as well as being global superstars. Yay, I know they look so cute. Awesome outfits.

Speaker 2:

Yes, they did. They had some very classy looks going on.

Speaker 1:

I was going to say that classy looks so people won't be like. I don't know. They wore appropriate attire for that kind of event, Exactly the one that was a hole in a movie and the other one that it was stripping. They cleaned up nice right which both of those are performers.

Speaker 2:

Come on, you know it was good to see them getting some good press, some good recognition.

Speaker 1:

Yes. For once, Because you know exactly, and, of course, the contract with YG is still out there. They were supposed to say something in August. Nothing has been said. Yeah, I know that's so. They have been pushing that back.

Speaker 2:

I don't know what's going on all up in the air at the moment.

Speaker 1:

Any other news? We do an auto K-pop in my last time, but I'm like I don't see anything for K-pop.

Speaker 2:

And now that's all we have. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if there's, like I said, I didn't have much. Oh, matsumoto Jun's exhibition opened up. People are, you know, not criticizing him, so that's good. But I didn't, I haven't seen a whole lot about it. I just saw, you know, that it did in fact open up and we don't get to see it. So, of course, unless they do some sort of little behind the scenes thing to show us, speaking of exhibition or exhibit, exhibition, exhibit.

Speaker 1:

So my, my baby. So from sexy zones he did happy six exhibit he did actually did one for international fans, just like Ono did for his.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, yeah, he did want to.

Speaker 1:

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it. Oh, I was doing the show while he was presenting his art. I miss my boom. So at least you know I think it the his exhibit has concluded, has ended, so congratulations to him. You know, now we have Mr Jim doing his, which address a collection in there, because also a man, oh, oh Kara, oh Kara. Yes, a few of his pictures out there too. Oh yeah, oh my God. Okay, let's go to Japan. Let's just pack it up, let's go, and then we come back. Oh, oh my God, what 48 hours.

Speaker 2:

Flying. Yeah, no. Well, actually, you know, if we're willing to spend a bomb, we can take a like direct flight over the North Pole. Oh, it takes like 15 hours still, but you know, omg, yeah, long flight, we'll be dead still.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we'll call to exhibit, we'll watch it. Can't take pictures, of course. We'll back to the airport and then come back when we're like huh, what, strap caffeine IV on me? Yeah, no kidding, go, but we'll love to be there. Also, my boy speaking of sexy sound still and I can't wait for that song, for the name to be changed. I don't know when this is going to happen. My boy, ken T, and my other boy, koji of snowman, are in the same drama. Oh nice, the name of the drama is it's a drama.

Speaker 1:

It's a drama Leaving no much. Sugasa Kenti's in there. His hair is now caramel color and of course Koji is supposed to be a bartender, but he has the long hair. I don't know if it's that is the wig that he is wearing, but he looking fine, so different.

Speaker 2:

I didn't know. I don't know why I didn't see that news.

Speaker 1:

So my Koji and Kento are going to be acting in the same drama and I want to see this. Can somebody actually put this for everybody?

Speaker 2:

You know, lately this been happening yeah you've been seeing more people.

Speaker 1:

You know, like I told you, red Meguro with the Trillion Games, what it just finished and I just saw that and that was cool. Also, one of the members of IO group with the drama of oh my God, host club. It's supposed to be host club. Now I forgot the name of it. Okay, I'm going to look this up because I'm being.

Speaker 2:

I'm momentarily enjoying all the pictures of Ono online, everybody wishing him a happy birthday, okay.

Speaker 1:

I found it. You can go to OK Asia to see this article, because I went to see it, because I got. I made the article for this for your blog. Yes, so Tai Se Fukumoto from IO group starts on Saitama host club. Okay, here we go. So he is a shy country boy, was then recruited by this lady to get in, you know, to help the host club, because when she went to the host club she's like we're missing something, we're missing the that, that that guy that it just brings the girls. You know that brings, you know, the the. So he was the one. We need the. His boyish, you know, you know kind of timid, you know looks, but really nice to the ladies was was bringing the ladies into the yard, you know, but this is so cute. The thing is that he is so shy. He can look at the people's eyes but he will talk to you like this, but really sweetly, you know be like oh my God.

Speaker 1:

I'm like yeah, we'll go for him to you know. So it was really nice. But of course there's more into the drama, because the lady who's actually helping the host club to get popular is been looking for somebody.

Speaker 2:

Oh, okay, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Which happens with the rival host club. Okay, that's all. I'm gonna leave it, because right there there's more drama.

Speaker 2:

But I have to check it out. Yes, saitama host club.

Speaker 1:

Okay, it's a dramedy is no, yeah, dramedy. Okay, there's comedy and whatever. It's funny. I like all the characters. They're amazing. I should read about the other ones in there, but yes, that's another one you can find on Netflix. That's where I saw it. Same thing with Trillion games and also they just so also to be named. Yep Also posted that one of June's older dramas is now on Vicky.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah, the chocolate tier one.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't remember what it translates, what it what it is in Japanese, but I know it has to do with the, the chocolate here.

Speaker 1:

Right. So I hope that this one that Kenty and Kodia are in, that they will actually put that in Netflix, hopefully.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Or Vicky. Whatever one of those two. I will love to see this. You know I see my candy on that movie that he did. You know the Sakura pedals come like the Sakura pedals. I was crying. I'm like I love my boy and that's why I watched it. But I don't like these movies. I don't like this movie that I'm constantly crying. No, because I come out, people will look at me. I'm like what happened to you, what happened to your eyes?

Speaker 2:

What's wrong?

Speaker 1:

with you, it's everything okay. And I'm like, no, can't he let me cry. Oh, my God, you know it's. I get so involved.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And his character. I was so involved with him. I mean, I you know, I already, I already love my boy and just seeing my boy suffer it made me more. That's why I was like, oh you know, so I even suffer more. So can't you know? He's like I remember an article, not an interview, that he did. He's like it's not a sad story and I'm like okay, he says it's not a sad story. I'll go watch it and all I do was cry and I'm like, can't you lie, I was crying all the time.

Speaker 2:

He's obviously got a different idea of what is sad and what is not Right.

Speaker 1:

Oh, can't he know I was crying, my eyes were all puffy and red, but I was old. Yeah, I was, I was bad. I'm like I'm not saying that again. I can't. I'm a suffering, but anyways, yes, any other news?

Speaker 2:

I don't think so Not. Like I said, I didn't get to do a whole lot of news searching.

Speaker 1:

But we've been busy with our fans giving this family and celebrations and whatnot, so anyways. Oh what he don't meet you, he's not with to be. Did we talked about that last time? Yes, we did, we did. Oh my God, I love that song. We should do what we should put in our singles yeah, we can.

Speaker 2:

We can add it to singles, okay, and I can't put together a list.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I can't wait for they drop the number one single, you know, but anyways, all right, let's end it there. Yeah, all right.
