Have you ever been slapped by the reality of work just as you're sipping the last drop of your vacation mojito? That's exactly how Panic felt returning from the sunny shores of Puerto Rico, only to be greeted by a software update that wreaked havoc on the first day back.

Imagine teaching your dad to use a smartphone, but it's not a phone—it's his new Subaru Crosstrek. Sarah recounts the parents' reactions to their new rides, you can't help but chuckle at the universal dance of older generations with new tech.

Now, we don't always keep it light; sometimes we steer into the important crossroads of life. Discussing the legal shields raised against online defamation targeting figures like Kwon Ji-yong (G-Dragon), we underline the no-nonsense approach to protecting one's good name in the digital age. Yet, in the same breath, we can't resist celebrating YouTube milestones and discussing Japan's latest 'handsome rankings' in ViVi's magazine. Whether it's the gravity of legal battles or the giddiness of hearing an old favorite song, this episode promises a kaleidoscope of stories that reflect the many hues of our everyday existence.

Speaker 1:

Hello, this is Panic and this is.

Speaker 2:

Sarah and you are listening to Music Elixir a podcast between two friends discussing their favorite Asian artists and music. Welcome everybody to another Music Elixir. This is Sarah, and with me is Did you panic?

Speaker 1:

Yay, sarah has no energy. She had a really rough, rough week.

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, did I ever? I'm just being lazy.

Speaker 1:

I'm still on vacation, but I'm telling you on the first. Oh, by the way, this is a ransom rambling everybody that's a free-for-all. Yeah, at the station, back from my mini hiatus.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, how'd it go?

Speaker 1:

I was, so I forgot to hit record. Oh no, so my intro on the first song was not recorded, but I catched it on, so I recorded the rest of the For the rebroadcast. Oh, that's not too bad. For those who will re-listen to the program on Monday are gonna be like. That doesn't sound the same. Now you know why. But anyways so yeah you were talking about audacity before.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So that's why I'm like, ah, audacity. Audacity is a program that we use, deep mixing program that we use.

Speaker 2:

Yes, audio mixing program. Look at us Recording and editing. Yeah, yeah, so I recently updated it, changed it. So I'm like, oh yeah, sure I'll do the update, and now I can't figure out anything. I've spent like 10 minutes trying to set myself up to record. And then same thing with editing. I'm like where's the thing I used to use and what? Oh my God.

Speaker 1:

So, of course, that happened to me and I'm like, well, this is easy, I can just redo the intro. I went to do that and I'm like, well, that doesn't look the same. And I'm like, oh my goodness, do I need to watch a video on this? Oh my God. So of course, instead of, you know, leaving the station at my usual time, it took me about an hour. Oh my God, really yes, because then, in the middle of me re-recording my intro, I started coughing.

Speaker 2:

And I needed water and I'm like oh, not another thing.

Speaker 1:

So you know my throat was dry and you know it's winter, so the studio in there is like so dry.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And I was just not prepared. I was not prepared. I was like man, I'm still on vacation mode, Like I'm like lazy, forgetting things.

Speaker 2:

Well, like I said, they've rearranged everything. So, instead of looking it up and seeing like what's new, how do you use the news? I just kept pushing buttons and clicking things until I found the right stuff. So, because it's actually, it's been new for like a month and a half, two months now.

Speaker 1:

And now I re-update and I'm like why?

Speaker 2:

is there an update already?

Speaker 1:

It's ridiculous, I don't know Somebody complain. I don't know that could be. That's probably what happened. They probably heard me what the hell. Probably, oh my God. So, yes, we were to took some vacay from each other. You know one it was Thanksgiving, which we talked about, yes. And then well, the other one is because I needed to go to Puerto Rico to attend to my family, to my mom. That was a very hot trip. We're taking two showers today. I got, you know, attacked by mosquitoes daily. It was itchy all the time.

Speaker 2:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

God, it was awful.

Speaker 2:

It was awful, and you know, and this is actually technically the cooler time of year, exactly Supposedly, you know, but you're still that much closer to the equator than Massachusetts. My mom was comfortable.

Speaker 1:

My mom was conscious. I go it's nice you brought in like the fresh air. I'm like, what fresh air. I'm like I'm only here, like sweating constantly. It's ridiculous. I feel like being naked all the time. I'm like I couldn't stand that. I'm like I don't want this clothing on me, it's just awful. Oh my God, yeah, it was bad. But my best friend from childhood oh my God, we know each other since I was four.

Speaker 1:

So it's yeah, we at a time people thought that we were sisters because they were like we were so close to each other, you know, so close, like I said, they people thought that we were sisters. Anyways, she's like I'm rescuing you Friday and I'm like thank you.

Speaker 1:

Thank you Because I did a lot with my mom and you know there was some things that you know happened and you take care of that. So she took me from one point of the island all the way down to Old San Juan. Oh wow, she took me to two different beaches. Yeah, I saw one of the pictures.

Speaker 2:

So you shared that with the group? I think yes.

Speaker 1:

And then we went to a few places to eat. It was one place we went, we. So we went to one place just for the appetizer which, by the way, she ate half of mine because she thought she was having crab instead of meat. So we went to eat a capurrias, which is a fritter made with yucca and as a root vegetable, and then you fried, you can, you can fry it with an inside, you can put in either beef, also seafood, which is crab meat. She likes crab meat. I don't, I never did and I'm like I just prefer, you know, the beef. So they both look the same.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, it's a fritter.

Speaker 1:

You know, unless you tell the lady you know. So the lady you know was presenting them and they were like so which one is the crab? And she's like, oh, it's the right. So my friend grabs her right hand and buys, and then I take the other one. My friend was so hungry I haven't even bit into mine, guess I want to take pictures. And whatever she did like, for she had eaten half. When she got halfway to it she's like this is the meat I ate, half of yours. I started cracking up.

Speaker 1:

I'm like here she's like no, no, no, no, it's okay, it's fine, Don't worry about it, I feel so bad. So that's a joke, you know. It's like tell everybody what happened to my a caporia.

Speaker 2:

Well, I would think all fried up the crab would still be okay.

Speaker 1:

You know, like in the middle of all those, Since I was a kid never liked the crab one, because they just the crabs. In Puerto Rico, the shell is relatively very thin, so people on clean, when they clean them, they're too rough and they still have, like you know, the shell in it.

Speaker 2:

So, always put me off, oh yeah, that would do it, so that's why I'm like Frenchie crab New.

Speaker 1:

That's why I never, never, had the crab one, even though people will be sure no, no, you're cleaning, you don't find any shell. Yes, I always find the shell. I'm like no, I don't know, no, I want beef. If you have chicken, beef or chicken, you know you can't go wrong with that one?

Speaker 2:

No exactly.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, that's my dilemma with the caputias made out of joyous. I don't like joyous, that's what they call them Puerto Rico for the crab. And then we went to the town of Loiza, where she took me to this place called La Comay for lunch. Oh my God, yo, that was so good.

Speaker 2:

Well, I saw all, all of your food pictures Amazing, oh my God.

Speaker 1:

That was so good. I'm like girl, she's like I know, I told you I was serving them for last. I'm like, yes, and then then she took me to Olsan Juan for dessert and yeah, no, it's like what? It's like a little you know, food tour, so that was cool, so kudos to her, awesome. So she's like next time you get, you know, a longer trip, that you don't tell your family you're here so we can really hang out. You know, I'm like I know, so we're planning on that.

Speaker 2:

Yes, well, this wasn't really a vacation. This was new a necessity. So yes a little different next time. You can go down and work at your leisure.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

So I was going to say update. We had talked previously about how my dad was going to buy a new car.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, yes.

Speaker 2:

The car thing. Well, he wound up buying a brand new Subaru Outback. Oh, he got the Outback I mean not the Outback, the Cross Trek. You could get a Cross Trek, the blue one that I had wanted but couldn't get because they didn't have any available. Oh, I love that color.

Speaker 2:

I know right. So my dad got that and then my mom wound up buying an Impreza. She got the Impreza, yes. So my parents both went and just bought new cars. So I was like, and what's funny is the Impreza is the one that my sister wants, oh cool. So my parents basically bought our cars.

Speaker 1:

Did she got like the regular or she got the hatchback? The hatchback, yay.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it is nice.

Speaker 1:

It is lower to the ground, but it's nice.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but my mom's short Okay got it. She can't climb. She likes my car because it is comfortable, but she has trouble getting in and out because it's so tall. But she went with the hatchback because I had said to her you know, they're easier for loading stuff when you go grocery shopping and stuff and there's more room because you've got that space of the window hatchback area. Yeah, and she's always been like I don't care about cars, Like as long as it drives me from one place to the other, that's all I need.

Speaker 2:

Right After her first trip shopping, after getting the new car, she called me to say the hatchback is so handy. I love it.

Speaker 1:

I was like yeah, I told you, I told you. Anyways, yeah, Wait till she's probably start fiddling around with it, and you know, be like oh, I found this till we're here and like this over. That is like cool, Awesome.

Speaker 2:

Yep, but my dad's freaked out because the newer ones, they have this recognition of your hand. So when you reach like after a week of driving it once you start reaching for the door handle, it unlocks the car.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, remember you were using the loaner and you're like this thing already knows I'm coming over. This thing helps everything I do. Yeah, that's what I was telling him.

Speaker 2:

It was the weirdest thing because I had the loaner. Unfortunately, I had to have it for like a month, oh yeah, and after the first week I'd get near the car and I would hear it unlock. I was like what? And yeah, because it recognizes. So that sort of freaks him out. Because you know, yeah, any new technology freaks my dad.

Speaker 1:

He's like is somebody around here? Is somebody around me? You know what's going on.

Speaker 2:

And he's like and it's so quiet I'm never sure if I've turned it off or not. Oh, wow, he's left it running. One day he did. He's like I couldn't. I couldn't lock the car and he couldn't figure out why, and it's because it was still running. I'm like at least you didn't walk away and leave it. You know he's. Yeah, he's very persistent and adamant about locking the car and making sure it's locked.

Speaker 2:

So, he's like I was standing there for like 10 minutes I couldn't get it to lock, I couldn't figure out why. I got in the car and he's like and I sort of heard the humming, oh my God, too funny. Omg, so my project when I go home for Christmas. He's like you'll have to show me how to use the car. Oh, no, he's like I was like just read the manual. Look at like play with stuff. He's like no, no, you can show me.

Speaker 1:

No, you can show me.

Speaker 2:

He's like the big TV thing. You know, the only problem is right, I already told you, I don't like this thing. I don't want that. Well, he's like at night driving it's so bright and I was like well, you can turn it down. He's like you can Like. Yeah, dad, you can turn like your computer. You can change the brightness level. Exactly You'll have to show me I'm like, oh, my God, all right.

Speaker 1:

You have to show them. Yep, you are going over for Christmas, you know so what are you? Gonna be doing and bring the manual with you. You'll be like okay dad put little like post it notes and be like and put it on top. You know this page is for this. You know, going to that page, this page is for that.

Speaker 2:

Oh my.

Speaker 1:

God.

Speaker 2:

That's funny.

Speaker 1:

Well you know, but that's good yeah that's good. Well, I'm glad your mom likes like likes the impressive hatchback Yay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Now she's. She's actually falling in love with her car for the first time ever. She's like what color she got? She got white.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

I guess mostly because that was the only color they had, and she's like I don't care about the color of the car, you know right. She's like that's not important to me. I'm like I don't like white cars Like they're just. Yeah, I never either. Yeah me neither. It's apparently like the most popular color.

Speaker 1:

Um no, not to be insulting, but um, along the mom and dad's age.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's just weird. You do see a lot of white cars out there, hmm, so I don't know why. I mean, I guess, people because it looks new if you keep it clean. But yeah, you know, I go to the car wash like once every five years so, and I do not wash my car in my driveway.

Speaker 1:

Unfortunately, my car's paint job is fading. Well, yeah, it's a no seven. So no, no, no, no, no, please stay with me forever.

Speaker 2:

Well, mine was when I finally got rid of mine, mine was a 97.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, my car was 23,. Almost 24 years old before I got rid of it. Wow, and same thing. It was the same color as yours. Actually, that that reddish and it does it fades incredibly.

Speaker 1:

So it's like, well, you had to get rid of it because your mechanics said I cannot fix this anymore. Yeah, you have to get rid of it. I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

I mean he gave you the all tomato.

Speaker 1:

Like you have to. This is no more repairs for this. Yeah, it's unreparable.

Speaker 2:

Well, it was. He was like at this point it's, it's not worth it Because it's just, you know this is going to go and then you're going to have to fix something else and something he's like. It's just going to be a vicious cycle of fixing everything in a roundabout. Yeah, by a time you're done with all the stuff that needs to get done, you're back to the original thing that needed to get done.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, so that's the situation that I have with mine, and I'm looking into that too. Yeah, I don't want to make car payments.

Speaker 2:

I know right.

Speaker 1:

I would love to have a new car. Definitely is the car payments. Yeah, you know those, I can live without, if it could be like buying a pair of jeans. You know, like, oh yeah, I got money for that. I wish I could do that, you know. Oh yeah, buy a new car, you know. You know, here's my money I don't have to do all that stuff.

Speaker 2:

Well, I got mine during the pandemic, and so I wasn't spending money on anything else, because there was nothing else.

Speaker 1:

There was no concerts. No, no, no merch to buy Exactly.

Speaker 2:

So you can't go anywhere.

Speaker 1:

Save all that money on gas Exactly. So, you weren't going to the K-flavory every month.

Speaker 2:

I know, yeah, it was like.

Speaker 1:

I noticed that families like how are the capes? That she's at the cape, yep, it's like her parents are there. She goes there like every month. It's like, yeah, almost there's always events at the cape.

Speaker 2:

Well, all our birthdays are spread out, so every you know a couple of months it's somebody's birthday. Yeah, the birthdays, the holidays, holidays, yep, mother's day, father's day, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yep, oh, easter. Yeah, you go there for Easter.

Speaker 2:

Arbor Day? No, I'm kidding.

Speaker 1:

Beatrice did you guys don't go over there. No, no, no. I want Memorial, no Memorial.

Speaker 2:

They are the Cape. No, we stay away from.

Speaker 1:

That's like the peak of like everybody goes to the Cape.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, it's awful that. And Labor Day, forget it, whoa Damn. And even trying to go down during the summer is awful because it's just constantly people, you know even just day trippers go into the beach Pain in the butt During the summer. There's no good time to go down there.

Speaker 1:

I was born and raised here. What are you guys doing here? Get out of my house. Get out of my house. Yeah, my little Puerto Rico. Well, it's getting better, but I don't know. It's just crazy, you know but actually it's funny.

Speaker 2:

I was thinking about I think it was like earlier today even how you and I are both island people. Yes, we are. It's very strange because I mean, you know, the Cape is a manmade island, but it's an island nonetheless, Right Separated from everything else by a channel of water, but, like in you, of course, from Puerto Rico. And then all of my family came from either UK and Ireland or the little island chain out in the Atlantic, the Azores. Yeah, so, like, my family is just island people. Yeah, that's why I love Hawaii, that's why I want to go to Japan, me too. That's why I want it Exactly. I always want to be on island, so I don't know why we're stuck out here.

Speaker 1:

I will love to retire in Hawaii. I already told family listen. Hawaii, I mean there were three states that was saying Florida, but Florida's getting way too cray-cray, so no way. I never lived in the West Coast. I was thinking Oregon. I know there's winters there. And then Hawaii, hawaii, hawaii, hawaii.

Speaker 2:

Hawaii, Hawaii. So we'll see.

Speaker 1:

My other one with Japan, but I don't think that's going to happen. Let something happen. Hello universe I never right. Where's my boat? To Japan, anyways. So I found a few pieces of news.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, we're not going to just talk about it.

Speaker 1:

No, we can talk about ourselves. Why Me you know, me, me, me. Oh your secret Santa, oh my God, did you get the?

Speaker 2:

certificate. No, what I did was bought like fancy specialized holiday tea cookies and a little jar of honey, like local pure honey, to go with tea. Okay, so yeah, that's what I'm doing At my office.

Speaker 1:

we're doing what is called a Yankee Swap.

Speaker 1:

For those who do not know what a Yankee Swap is, that somebody will so we have a price range will bring a gift or something for that amount of money and it's wrapped. So, no, you can't see what it is unless only the person who brings it in. So let's say there's, you know, 10 people there. Each person will grab from a hand a number. So the first person who picked gets number one, will go in. Whoever gets number one goes, grabs the first bag, opens it and that will be their present until person number two grabs a bag. If they like what they, what they grab, they keep it.

Speaker 1:

If they like what number one has, they can take it and swap it, that's where the swapping thing happens, and so on and so forth, because the only person that it has the number 10 or the last, you know, the last number, is the only one that can. It's the with the best gift because it has open, everybody has open all the gifts and they can see oh, this is what I want.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly. So if they don't like theirs, they can take anybody else's. Exactly, yeah, those are evil.

Speaker 1:

They're evil I know, but, they're so much fun. We did that old job when we were in the swarmer building. We did a Yankee Swap. I was doing good until somebody I'll open because I'm saying I'll beat me, but you know, I'll did me. And they gave me this little wallet. I'm like, oh man, no money in here. I can you give me a? What? What a wallet with no money in it?

Speaker 2:

Oh, my god, I wound up with an iron once. Iron Iron, yeah, like to iron your clothes, oh my god.

Speaker 2:

I was like seriously, because there was one person who didn't realize she didn't realize it was supposed to be like serious gifts. Oh, and she came up and apologized to me at the end of the evening because what happened is, everybody swapped. I was like number five so I was shit out of luck and so everybody swapped until finally I wound up with the iron. So the girl who had brought it came up to me at the end of the night. She's like I am so sorry. She's like mostly Yankee Swaps I've done have been like with gag gifts. Because yeah, it's just you know. She's like, so I just thought that it was funny, that it's you know. And I was like, well, don't worry about it, it's fine, because I actually needed an iron. Mine had died. It's like it's, it'll actually be useful for me, it's fine. But it was just like OMG. I was like seriously, you know right.

Speaker 1:

I think we made that clear that it needed to be a brand new gift.

Speaker 2:

Well, it was brand new. It was just she thought again that it was supposed to just be funny things, you know like non, non, serious gifts, silly things. And so she's like an iron. It was, it was brand new, it was not used or something.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, I thought it was like a, like a riggedy old, brand new in the box.

Speaker 2:

You know everything.

Speaker 1:

Okay, but hey, put it on eBay, get some money over there. I don't know Too funny. Anyways, so many, many, many moons ago, yg we talked about this new girl group, baby Monster. Oh, yeah, yeah. Finally, yg has now debuted at this girl group and on December 15, yg announced that Baby Monster's music video for their debut single, better Up, has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube.

Speaker 2:

Wow, didn't one of the members already left? They're now a six-member group. Yeah, they were debuting and within a week, one of them had dropped out completely.

Speaker 1:

Six-member group right now. So congratulations to the ladies.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

I mean so on this report. The report says the music video for Better Up was first released on November 27. It took just 18 days to reach the milestone. Better Up is now the fastest K-pop group debut music video over to hit the 100 million mark, smashing the previous record of approximately one month and 21 days by Espa's song Black Mamba. So Espa's was, and then they took the crown. Woohoo, they took the crown away.

Speaker 2:

Congratulations, I know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've been seeing the teasers for the girls for this group and I was like, oh, I'm very, you know, I want to see this. The girls have amazing vocals and things are happening and, yeah, like groups and members doing things and then they're too young and this and that, and I'm like, here we go, drama already starting and they have not debuted it yet. But congratulations to Baby Monster.

Speaker 1:

Yay, now still with the YG members but these members are no longer with the company they song from. Big Bang will be making his highly anticipated comeback as a solo artist. He has an amazing voice, oh, and he sings also in Japanese. I don't know if he will be doing any songs in Japanese, but will be nice if he does so. On December 11th, a teaser image was released for his upcoming single, flow, which will be released on Flow.

Speaker 2:

She had a whole hand movement going on, and so if you're wondering why I'm laughing, it's not because of the flow, because of him in his song. It's DJ Panic over here being like I'll swav and flow.

Speaker 1:

And he is girl. He is swav too. Yes, he is swav. So the song will be released on December 18th and he says Flow is a remake of a song from 2012 that was originally released by Lee and Chul. They song plans to introduce a song that suits the holiday vibes with lyrics that comfort the past days. Lee Sun signed an exclusive contract with R&D Company in April of this year and formed and formed to dedicate team D label. Oh, he formed the team D label.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I was like informed, I know Be formed.

Speaker 1:

Can I tell?

Speaker 2:

No, I can't read.

Speaker 1:

As then they son has been greeting fans by appearing as a judge, which we cannot see. Any of these shows on NBN's track competition show, king of Veteran Singers, as well as a brief appearance on how do you play. So he's been busy. Excellent, he'd be doing some, some MC work and whatnot. I would like to see that show King of Veteran Singers. I bet you can find clips on, I'm sure, youtube, youtube which, by the way, so, while I was in Puerto Rico, my mom, my mom, my mom got me hooked on the show.

Speaker 1:

Oh, no so exactly at 6pm, we have to be in front of the TV to watch this show. What is it that is called Puerto Rico, ghana? Put me in. Puerto Rico wins is a contest show, it, it, it. It felt it was like the Puerto Rico, puerto Rican version of the prices. Right, oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

But you're not, you know. So it's a game show, not a like talent show or something and a talent show.

Speaker 1:

Oh, oh yeah. Oh yeah, it has. Yeah, it's a game show and talent show too. Oh gosh.

Speaker 2:

That's like wasn't there the gong show like a million years ago, with sort of like that? Okay, people came on and did talent, but it was a game show. It was shown, I think, in prime time or something like Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy.

Speaker 1:

So my mom is like you need to watch him. His name is, his name is Alex DJ instead of DJ, alex Alex DJ. And in in Chibu's telling me he reminds me so much of your work that that's why I fell in love with. I'm like mom, he's not playing Asian artists Like she's like it's not that, it's just the way he is, and so caring and and I'm like, oh, thank you, mom, so this is a great it's. I like you know I fell in love with him too because you know some contest shows, you know like the prices, right, if you lose, you lose. Yeah, he will try to hit answers. So people to win, to win, like stuff.

Speaker 2:

Oh, really yeah.

Speaker 1:

I was like man, I want to be in there because he wants you to. That's the name of the title Puerto Rico wins. So no matter what you're doing, some you will come out with something. So there was there's one that you need to push a shopping cart to a certain you know spot, but he wouldn't care If you missed it. He will be like you know what, we'll give you half of the, you know half of the cart, or we'll give you the cart, depending on what it was. There was actually this mom and son who wanted to win the cart to give it to their classmate which their mom was going through chemotherapy.

Speaker 2:

So she wasn't working and whatever.

Speaker 1:

So they wanted to win it for them. Of course. Unfortunately they didn't. And he's like no matter what, we'll give you the cart plus $200 more for them. Wow. And they were like wow, because it was that's how much the cart was was $200.

Speaker 1:

So, they went with $400 to give to the family. Oh my God, that's amazing. There was this lady who turned 65 and she was so happy because she was there, because it was her birthday, and of course she couldn't push the cart. And he's like, don't worry, donia, gloria, we'll give you the cart. She started crying. She's like, oh my God, this is my birthday and I love you. I was like, damn, that lady made out even better because because she, she, she's like you told me that you're a very you're a fan of mine. You know I gave you a price. You know I gave you the the cart, but you're also going to have dinner with me. Oh my God, they set up a dinner table for them. At the end of the show the lady had a grilled salmon for her birthday with mash oh my God, look, mashed potatoes and whatever. I'm like, damn, that's a little good A cake. And everybody's singing happy birthday to her.

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, that's way better than the game show here.

Speaker 1:

I'm like, I want to go there. I love that show. They also have schools will come in there, you know to. They have a a like schools. Schools compete with each other high schools and then they'll, you know they'll, they'll win something for the school. Yeah, so they'll have you know questions for math. You know science, and then they have art. Of course, I ace all the art questions and hardly someone in kids didn't know. I'm like, what, how can you flunk art? It's so easy.

Speaker 2:

Not easy for everybody.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, some of them is paintings and I'm like you know, one of them was like Dali. So the one of them, what? The one of the paintings was Dali and it was, you know, multiple choice. So, like they'll have your name, but they'll have Dali the name. How old were the kids? They were high schoolers. Oh, wow, they were not.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, high schoolers, and Dali is very recognizable.

Speaker 1:

So they show that right away when they show the painting number like Sabado Dali, like real quick, and it was multiple choice, so they had Sabado a, sabado Dali B, leonardo Da Vinci, c, then go, you know them kids never got Dali. Oh my god, three schools, three schools. I'm like what, what? I was yelling at the TV, I was going out with the art section and I wanted to teach art.

Speaker 2:

I know. Yeah, that is weird Girl, and even though I mean Dalí gets used so much in popular culture things. Yeah, you would think that it would be the easiest one to get. Yeah, you might not get a van Gogh.

Speaker 1:

They didn't pull up Picasso in there, which is another one that is very unique, as in art, yeah, even Van Gogh has his own, you know it's.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he does definitely have a style, but I would see more not quite knowing a van Gogh as opposed to Dalí. Like I said, his stuff is like another level. Yeah, you know melting clocks, you know weird random stuff, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he's flying fish. Yeah, yeah, especially the melting clocks, yeah.

Speaker 2:

That is so classic of him, the most popular, most well known Girl.

Speaker 1:

No, I was. I was yelling at the TV. Oh my God, it's culture, art Anyway but, yeah, that's an awesome show. I love it, so I can find it on YouTube now. Awesome, it reruns. Yay, yes.

Speaker 2:

We so just veered, off course, I know.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, no, my mom's like I'm gonna miss me, know, my companion to watch Puerto Rico and I'm like I'm, I don't be me that, but next time I'm here we'll watch it. But she, but he is cool, I like him very much, dj Alex, which he also was, alex DJ Alex.

Speaker 2:

DJ.

Speaker 1:

Alex DJ, which he was. He. He ran. I think it was this weekend the Make a Wish Foundation, make a wish Mara 5k. They were making fun of him because he's skinny legs, anyways, but it's a cool show, so going around with more of the YG people Remember while ago, maybe episode or two, we were talking about G Dragon. So, following negative drug tests resulting, big banji dragons has announced strong legal action against malicious pose. This is going to happen. They took hair clippings, oh yeah. Nail and toe clippings, wow.

Speaker 2:

And the urine sample Blood test. I mean what else?

Speaker 1:

That's. I'm surprised, because in here does not say blood, they had everything everything.

Speaker 2:

Well, because you know with the hair, like it grows out with your hair, right? Just so everybody knows.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

If you're going to get drug tested, shave your body, but shave your whole body.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, your whole body, girl. So on November 21st, the National Institute of Forensic Science recently notified the Ikewan police agency drug crime investigation unit that a detailed analysis of G Dragon's fingernails toenails tested negative for drugs. Well, I told you.

Speaker 2:

they were going on the word of one person like no other evidence. Just someone was like I know G Dragon was doing drugs and they were like okay, we're bringing.

Speaker 1:

So you know, and this is supposedly like the second round with the toenails and whatnot, oh yeah, because the first one was going on. For ages?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I think isn't this like the second time in his career? Yeah, even that he's been brought in, because a few years ago they did this to him also.

Speaker 1:

So on November 22nd, g Dragon's legal representative released a statement announcing that they are preparing legal action against various oh so it's not just like one person various malicious posts and comments.

Speaker 2:

Well, because after the one person said something and he got brought in, people were all over the place being like, oh yeah, he went to the party with. So you know what I mean. So, yeah, no, they're not playing.

Speaker 1:

So his lawyer quotes. This is lawyer Kim Soo Young, juan Yu Young, aka G Dragon's legal representative. We are currently taking legal action against those who posted malicious posts, including defamation, insults, sexual harassment, spread of false information and malicious slander against Juan Yu Young. Wow, oh yeah, we're going really deep on that.

Speaker 1:

We are preparing to submit multiple complaints, to invest investigate agencies by collecting evidence of acts that violate Juan Yu Young's rights and interests, such as insults and defamation, through self monitoring and reports from fans, and we plan to respond with a no tolerance policy. We will continue to hold the suspect accountable and take strong action, without any settlement or leniency.

Speaker 2:

So anybody out there who posted things in response to articles or just other people, like say, someone tweeted something about it. If you responded and you said anything against G Dragon you are in for it, oh yeah. Watch your back. See, we've always been supportive. We're like whatever.

Speaker 1:

Didn't we say they were saying, marion American, come over here, we welcome you, GD. Come over here, come on. You know, come over here, man the Canadian, or whatever.

Speaker 2:

Well and I mean, how hard is it though? Also, we've talked about this multiple times Like if you don't agree with what they're doing, fine, don't agree. Talk about it with your friends and other people who don't agree, but don't go on social media and anonymously blast people, because they're going to find you. Yeah, they can find you and they're going to take action, you know.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes these are people who just out there for a cloud and just want to get. They just want to be, you know, internet famous, Just slandering and just making lies.

Speaker 2:

Well, also, though, even like the tabloids who, again, they're doing it to get you know, money, publication, whatnot. But, like, check your sources and don't don't conjecture and just say stuff without fact based information. You know, yeah, like one person, random persons, like, yeah, I saw him doing drugs and you ran with it. That's a bad idea, exactly.

Speaker 1:

Very bad idea, exactly so. Yeah, girl.

Speaker 2:

So I'm happy for him, you know, and you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all, exactly, although then on the flip side you've got that. Somebody famous once said if you don't have anything nice to say, sit next to me, okay.

Speaker 1:

But I think she still kept it to herself.

Speaker 2:

She just liked gossip.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, so we need to do another. Congratulations. And this one will be for one of our main ladies that we live, wasa. On December 14, the music video for Wasa's Maria, or Maria, hit the 300 million mark on YouTube, so this will be making her first solo like achievement of like the most view. Wasa's original release was for Maria was on June 29 of 2020. This is like during pandemic Wow. Yeah, it might have took the song like three years, but come on.

Speaker 2:

Well, it's obviously getting steady views. Yeah, you know what I mean. It's still in the rotation of what people watch, no, okay.

Speaker 1:

It's wasn't, yeah, yeah, our girl. The people wanted to like also, whatever.

Speaker 2:

It's art, people, it's art.

Speaker 1:

She wasn't stripping like other people, and burlesque is art Okay.

Speaker 2:

Am I going to have to use that clip?

Speaker 1:

again. You should. We still going to be happy? Burlesque is art. It's not stripping.

Speaker 2:

Oh my God, that's never going to go away. I think maybe I'll make that our new outro. Oh my goodness. I'll throw it in the middle of stuff.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my goodness. So anyways, we're kind of familiar with Japanese magazines. Do you know about the magazine VV?

Speaker 2:

No, okay, so the magazine VV, I mean, I've probably seen it on the shelves. We probably have seen it of the stores we go to in New York and stuff.

Speaker 1:

So VV's national treasure class handsome rankings, it's out.

Speaker 2:

So everybody has one of them.

Speaker 1:

So VV's highly anticipated Japan's national treasure class, handsome rankings for the second half of 2023 have been unveiled, showcasing I'm not going to say the names because I want to check Top rankings for the personalities. I don't know about these rankings. This is weird. Now, next and adult category I don't know, as in adult entertainment.

Speaker 2:

I don't know no, I don't know what they mean about adult grown up, older maybe there's a certain age, okay.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, this could be. I Know, when I saw that, I'm like, okay, that's gotta be some like mistranslation.

Speaker 1:

Yeah something now the resource that I'm reading this from there. They know how to translate to Japanese. So the adult? I don't know what they mean about adult. I'm like because the names are there and I'm like, well, they are adults, but I don't know what you mean about adult category. Huh, you know, okay. So the top five in the now category? That'll be nice if they can explain what you know. Each means secure positions for the now category, Rising from the second spot from previous rankings.

Speaker 2:

Maybe some people will know about the rankings on the, they were saying this is the second Round. So yeah, earlier this year they had a top five and now it's changed.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay. So I guess, yeah, instead of just doing like a yearly thing, they do it like maybe like every six months. So the top five for the now category are number one, jose yagi from fantastic's, just an ex-all tribe. Then we have a number two, shun skee Michiera, which is nani, was yeah. Number three, fumia Takahashi, and believe he's an actor. On number four, kaito Takahashi, king and prince yeah. And a number five, rookie, she right walk from J oh one.

Speaker 2:

Hmm, what do they all have in common For the now?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and they're all different ages, so maybe just like for looks, because it's the handsome right.

Speaker 2:

Well, I guess. But like from now, maybe because they're all All actively doing something right now. You know, I don't know, because what's next?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, if it's the handsome ranking, I mean like now, handsome, you know this, I'm thinking. But then we have the next category. So the top five in the next category is See in. Next her glory, blah, blah, blah. Okay, on number one, we have takuya Nishimura from little kensai. Number two, kazunari Mamehara from J oh one. Number three, Ruiya Miyase, I believe he's an actor. And number four, jean Mazzura from I and I, and a number five, koki Yamashita, another actor. So so the next handsome, I don't know, yeah, I don't know. Now the one that is very intriguing the adult category. Why do you mean about the adult category? Now I'm gonna read this to you backwards from five to one, okay, because I know who number one is. The top five for Vivi's the adult category, a number five. We have Takanori Iwata From Jaycell Brothers. I love him, I love that boy. Hey, boy is a man. Now, on number four, riosuke Yamada. Really yes.

Speaker 2:

Only four.

Speaker 1:

Wait a minute.

Speaker 2:

All right, I guess I'll reserve my indignation. This is the adult category.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what they're talking about adult category, but he's number four. Okay, but he's too cute, I told you.

Speaker 2:

Well, but he has when they like, do him up and he's doing something dramatic and whatnot. Yeah, he's incredibly handsome, of course, and sometimes looks a little dangerous, so maybe that's what they mean, like you know, appeals to adults.

Speaker 1:

I don't know, I don't really know what this is like. Okay, I don't know that now and the next, I don't even know what that is the adult Okay number three, you're on three. Okay, number three we have Kouhei Matsushita. He's a singer. On number two. We have sky high, wow, drumroll please for number one. We love this boy. I'm trying to think what they all have in common as far as adult category.

Speaker 2:

I Really don't know, girl, yeah, that's strange, but yay, awesome, I know what the knobby right and but yeah, I'm making it on the list. Hey, it's guy. Hi, yeah, I'm trying to think what they all have in common.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what the knobby is. I don't know what the knobby is.

Speaker 2:

And for yami, I'm making it on the list.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and sky high. Yeah, Wow, it's got hi. I know.

Speaker 2:

I'm like Well, and he's been busy. Oh my god, sky hard. Yeah, he's like yeah, all over the place in the news. He's doing shows and doing festivals and doing More shows.

Speaker 1:

So I would like to know, like what, what is this category thing that they have there? Because it's like, yeah, I'm like what are they talking about? Like adult new night next, I don't know idea. But yeah, that, that, that was. But I said congratulations, you know are they all over 30? I'm trying well, no, because we have our boy from anyone.

Speaker 2:

He's not 30. Oh, he's on the. He's on the adult list. No, no, no, no no no, that's what I mean about the adult list.

Speaker 1:

Oh, oh.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it's shut the water. No, I don't think he's 30. No, he's not 30 yet. Hmm.

Speaker 1:

Hmm, you're your boy. Mm-hmm, no man, he is just turned 30 this year. Yeah, I'm in turn 30 this year.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that's why I was thinking maybe, like now, they're adults, cuz 30 seems to be sort of the magic age where, like you, start becoming too old for.

Speaker 1:

No, I'm thinking now what I go check if this is the what's on average on 30. I don't think so. No, I thought it. Oh my god, I didn't have to like type that much and it just popped.

Speaker 2:

It's cuz our computers are always listening to us, they are listening. They know what you want.

Speaker 1:

We, we like our boys what he's 31.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, really, yeah, oh, that's so. Maybe I thought dice game was the oldest, guess not. I Thought that too. Why did I think that? I don't know. So alright, well, there, over 30 is daddy.

Speaker 1:

Maybe you knew, you know you hit it there.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I think that that could be it because, like I said, there's this weird mystical thing about turning 30, where you're no longer considered, like you know, idol. Will that make the same way like teeny bop or idol magazine?

Speaker 1:

Well, it makes sense when they were saying the handsome ranking. So I guess for over 30, these are the most handsome.

Speaker 2:

All right, there you go.

Speaker 1:

But why an adult instead of just saying?

Speaker 2:

Well, you don't want to say the over 30. So makes it.

Speaker 1:

But it's weird because then now handsome, and then they showed, and then the next handsome, they're just in. Then the adult handsome yeah, ok, I don't know, I don't know. Ok, and apparently the anticipated ranking, because it's said right, they've had anticipated ranking from baby. I'm like, ok, the next handsome is Somebody explain, he's just true, everybody can't wait to get that, and you know a volume of the magazine because you can't wait. Huh, that's awesome. Adult, adult, ok.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm reached adulthood.

Speaker 1:

All right, he's so tiny and cute, you're so pretty. Yes, I'm jealous, yeah, I'm got them. Looks OK, let's see. Da, da, da, da, da. Oh, black black butler boarding school arc to air in April next year. Yay, woohoo.

Speaker 2:

I love that anime based on a manga. Yes, just for those who don't know, us in our craziness Like what black I got? Like what?

Speaker 1:

What is that what?

Speaker 2:

Manga, anime. So there you go.

Speaker 1:

Miyazaki movie that came out. Oh yeah Is right now in theaters. I probably will be missing it or something, because it's only a limited, limited time Limited viewing. Yeah, not like Miss Tete. Miss Tete has been still on theaters, oh really, yeah, yeah, ranking money, she is making bogey money. Let's see Kinky Kits and King and Prince collaborate on Cinderella Christmas, a musical special premiering on December 15, which I guess I did yesterday. Yeah, that's good.

Speaker 2:

That already happened.

Speaker 1:

OK, all right. So there's dad. I played chili beans also on the show, and that's it so far that I have for J-pop. Anything that you know, no, so on the show I played Bazuri night, oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

That's all right. Yeah, that's all right.

Speaker 1:

I love that song, Did you do? And then I'm thinking why didn't Don and me to actually just play this song around December? Because we have Ono, which we just, you know, celebrated birthday? On November, then we have Iba, which is coming up right now, in December and then show oh yes, In January. It was like just like the perfect song to play in December because you're honoring all our boys that are you know, kind of close together with their birthdays.

Speaker 1:

So I reached out to them like oh my God, that was a great idea. Oh my God, brie was a liberation. So they were like enjoying it with me. I made my own dance, but from the video from the concert, you know some of the hand movement. I was doing those, except for the crazy one. I can't do that. I will break my back. That's kid does it very well, have you? Yeah, you seem that, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Oh my.

Speaker 1:

God, I'm like, yes, a tackle boy. We love you. God, he goes so crazy, he's so extra.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that was awesome that little clip of him. Yeah, he was, I was like hyper boy, wow.

Speaker 1:

And people love him. He's like hey, hey, hey, I'm like I don't keep up with him. How, how you can keep up with him? No, he's a little firecracker. Oh, he's amazing. He is amazing. I haven't seen any more cat videos of him. I want to like to. Oh, look at daddy. So anything that you want to talk about?

Speaker 2:

now. Now we can save it for another time, OK, anyways. So that was our super ranty rambly. We were all over the place.

Speaker 1:

Look at what Like right in the middle. Start talking about that show in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 2:

Well it's, it's like that quote I have my ducks in a row, only their squirrels, and they're running.

Speaker 1:

I never heard of that one.

Speaker 2:

What.

Speaker 1:

You never heard that.

Speaker 2:

No, it's so funny, it is.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's us.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

A, d, d category. Everything is here. Why what it's right there?

Speaker 2:

Organized chaos.

Speaker 1:

That's that's us.

Speaker 2:

Although sometimes it's not no just chaos. Yes exactly In this pile we have this In this pile we have that.

Speaker 1:

I'll find it.

Speaker 2:

Oh my God.

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you everybody for joining us. Thank you for listening to this Crazy yes ransom rambling. So what Not for God? The ending, please? Great review, sure, sure, selling you. I'm still in the invocation mode. I could play. I'm like, oh no, what do we say? I'm like. I'm like, oh no, complete, I guess what, I don't know. Give us five stars because we love constellations.

Speaker 2:

Oh, my God, Until next time. Thank you. Bye, bye.

Speaker 1:

Janet, I'm telling you I'm lost.
