Hello everybody, this is Sarah and this is Panic, and we're welcoming you to another episode of Music Elixir, rance and Rambling. You know we love Durant and Rambling.
Speaker 1:Oh, yes, we do Even when it's not a Rance and Rambling Exactly, we managed to do it Well remember there was one Rance and Rambling that you said we don't know what we're going to talk about. And then I'm like, well, we don't even going to be saying that, because Rance and Rambling is just that, rance and Rambling Exactly. Well, just, our topics are random, but this topic is kind of that, you know, our not manifestations, but our witchy poo energies you know Our psychic ability, you know we did.
Speaker 1:You know we had. Sarah had that dream about the sequins gold dress and the sequins red dress and the choking and I don't know the whole situation. And then we did a dive on the dream that it was about. You know, love and a young man and yada, yada. And then for some reason, v's episode, not episode his video. His video loved me again Was exactly was Sarah dream in a lot of parts?
Speaker 2:Right, and the video came out like two weeks after we had that, that talk about the dream, and I was like, oh my God, like the minute I watched or no. It took me a couple of times watching it before. I was like, wait a minute, this is my dream. And then I was like panic, have you watched these video yet? Yeah, and you were like no, let me check it out. And immediately you noticed it faster than I do. Yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm like I stopped it. I was freaking out.
Speaker 2:I'm like, oh, my God, I know, and you only stopped after the gold.
Speaker 1:I was like no keep going, keep going I know, oh my God, I'm like what, what? That was insane it was. It was a manifestation. That's what I'm calling it.
Speaker 2:It was manifested, or it was a universal conjuring yes, maybe, oh yeah.
Speaker 1:Because you felt very intense about that dream.
Speaker 2:Yeah, oh, it was so vivid, it was so vivid.
Speaker 1:So there was a talk that we had after that. You mentioned about RM that you know, x Twitter was having a cow because of a song that he had posted on his Instagram story about Frank Ocean's bad religion. Bad religion, yeah, and, like I was telling you, I might have just seen something, that it was trending, but not to make myself mad and because a lot of these whatever is trending, some sometimes it's just like stupid, which I have said before I didn't pay attention and you're like, oh my God. So you did pay attention and you were telling me what was going on and I'm like, ah, so I gave my two cents on the situation and we released that episode on August 30th which, by the way, it was a blue moon, I know and we dropped that episode at 1am. What did end up happening on that Wednesday? Later on, rm did a live talking about the song and he wanted to address it. Did not want it to address it, but addressed it anyways. Well, he was not apologizing.
Speaker 2:Right. He was like, I'm not apologizing, I just obviously this has gotten blown out of proportion. You know people, you know me. That's not who I am, that's not what I'm about. I respect all religions and all you know backgrounds, cultures. Yeah, it's a song, it was a metaphor. It's using religion as a metaphor for something else. He's like, I'm not going to get into it, I just it is what it is. I wanted to share music and in our episode we talked about, right, other artists have also shared that song, like, shared that song before. So it's like what you know, like I don't remember the same reaction at the time that they did this Exactly as, as poor RM got Right, and it's funny, just the other day he posted that song, witchcraft, yeah, and panic immediately sent me a message.
Speaker 2:It was like, oh man, are people going to give him shit for you know being into the occult, and I said, or is it going to be another? He's bashing a religion because for some people, witchcraft is, you know. So not to laugh it, because, as we addressed in our previous talk, people are sensitive about, you know, spirituality, right, and. But there's, there's context and there's again using metaphors and unfortunately, I guess one of the words in the song does offend a religion, because they don't like anyone who's not of their religion saying their God's name Right. Again, I'm not going to say it because I don't want yeah, no, be part of any brouhaha myself, but so I do. I understand you know your sensitivity to it, but again, this is it's music, it's an expression, and that's what RM was trying to say. He's like it's just, it's just a song, people. It's expression of emotion and it's a metaphor for things. And and he, he wouldn't purposely say anything. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's. Yeah, it's much more thoughtful and sensible about things.
Speaker 2:So, but people will believe what they want to believe and they'll feel how they want to feel. So, did you have more you were going to add about that?
Speaker 1:It's because you said you were looking into something, so I'm just like I said, you know, bts is a very popular group and people are just going to find anything to blow it out of proportion. And this is what happened.
Speaker 2:They're under a microscope, being scrutinized Exactly and I mean you.
Speaker 1:When I saw him, you know speak his mind about the situation, you know he's so done. He even said I have been holding this for 10 years. I have been holding these feelings for 10 years and you know he's just done, you can tell so he's like. I'm not apologizing. So that's what I like, if you're, if if you don't like it, bye Babu.
Speaker 2:Well, the thing is, because for him he's not wrong. Well, how he presented it and what he did was not wrong, so he shouldn't apologize for that.
Speaker 1:No, he even said it's a song, guys, it's a song. It's a song, exactly.
Speaker 2:That's plainly. It's a song, so that's that's going to lead into. Did you hear the other brew? Ha ha.
Speaker 1:About poor Tay. Oh no, now's Tay Tay. What happened now?
Speaker 2:Well, I mean, you know he listens to lots of things, oh yes, and for some reason he's really been enjoying a particular song that's definitely. It's a, like a hip hop rap. I don't know the song, it's called. I believe up, they say some bad words and you know okay.
Speaker 2:Oh God, I can't remember. Now here, wait, give me one second. I think I did look it up just because I was like all right, let's see what this is. You could, but you could hear it in his live, hang on, all right. So I think I found the right one. It's Lil Vada and Donnie Solo up Now they say a not so nice word for female genitalia they use the N word, and so what happened was he was he had used this previously in a video of him working out, and then he had it, I guess, playing in the live. That he did, and people freaked out because there was this whole big debate about whether or not he sang along to the N word or if he stopped like stopped himself because he knew it's not really an appropriate word to be using, and so you know.
Speaker 2:And then, so there's, of course, same thing with RM. There's there's half the people who are like he didn't even say it or sing along to it, it's just in the song, and then another half who are like, oh, he definitely said it and he shouldn't have said it. So you know. And then of course, you had people of color who were saying I watched it, he didn't say it, and so it's just, it's another whole big thing, and I was like well, the haters.
Speaker 1:just, you know, pointing out, he did say it, he did say it you know right, and so I haven't really.
Speaker 2:I sort of saw the. It was while I was working, so I couldn't pay attention to what was going on, so I haven't really looked to see whether or not I thought he say it, but this was something and finally, thank God, one person did bring it up and in their, in their comments, they did state they were a person of color and they said it's a song, it's music. The artist knows that people are going to sing along to it. Yeah, and we talked about this in another episode where Korean artists were singing an old song that was actually insulting, the curry song, I think it was the curry song.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And we got talking about how, especially when you're younger, in your youth, you hear music. You hear songs that you like and you enjoy and you don't really you're not thinking about the words, you're just, you're not thinking about the meaning of what's going on, right, you're just singing it because you enjoy it, right? And so this person's point was she was like, or he was saying these artists, no people, are going to be singing, yeah, and they know that they have fans from all cultures, all races, all ethnicities, all sexes. So if they're just singing along, they know they're going to sing along to it, and so it was. But this is again this whole big debate of of is it right, is it wrong, like if I'm in my car, you know oh, my God.
Speaker 2:I sing along to you. You know what I mean. So it was just but so poor Tay got dragged, the same way that poor RM got dragged, and I think he's he's sort of handling it the same way.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:He's. He's just going to act like it didn't happen. I listened to music and I listen to all music.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know, I mean. Oh, I listen to everything. And these guys.
Speaker 2:They start. Bts started out doing hip hop and, oh yeah, you know three of the guys are rappers. So, like right, they did study all of this urban music and you know, I mean so again, the culture behind it.
Speaker 1:You know what words and whatnot, and right yeah.
Speaker 2:And so for the most part in polite society we don't use this word, right? But again, it's in music, it's part of a song and it's like people were saying he, it's almost like he started to and then realized I shouldn't say this word. So he, he knows he knows himself Right.
Speaker 2:But again, you know people who, who want to hate and want to drag, are going to say no, he said it, you know exactly. Anyways, that's poor Tay. Tay had to deal with that and then I don't know if you also heard oh my God, um, this has to do with poor JK. So this rancid ramblings is actually sort of like people giving shit to BTS.
Speaker 2:People hating on BTS for no apparent reason other than they're popular. Some producer for an older female group. Um, oh God, I wish I'd written this down. I probably did write it down and forgot to, you know, keep my mind on it. Anyways, he wanted to start a lawsuit claiming that JK song seven stole.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, yeah, did you see this? I saw a blur about that that I went out. If it, I don't want to check on that out.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was like nah, this was a girl group song from like 1990s.
Speaker 1:It was from the 90s. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:But anyways, he he claimed there was this segment that was taken directly from the song he wrote for this girl group. And if you listen to the two song, I was like, well, I went and found the girl song and I was like I don't even hear anything remotely, not even a chord progression remotely similar to JK seven, which was not even written by him. So there's that he. He didn't steal it, it would be whoever produced. But this was funny because suddenly everybody got on ex Twitter and was like you know, if anything, this guy's music, this song he wrote for this girl group, is identical to the spice girls. And when I listened to it I said I knew it sounded Because it was. So now it's turned into this whole big sort of turnaround. Right that this guy's better start back peddling, exactly Because now he's going to have a lawsuit on him for stealing the spice girl song. So anyway, but I was like which spice girl song you remember, oh, so I think it's the say you'll be there.
Speaker 1:And it sounds like.
Speaker 2:I think the other group is called Finn KL, I'm not. I'm not sure how you pronounce it all. Okay, it's like capital F I N, period K, capital K period, capital L, so anyways, they had a song, something about time I think, I don't remember, but anyway, so their song sounds exactly like spice girls. And there you go, and everybody I mean everybody, almost everybody was like that sounds like a good song, that sounds like spice. So I'm like good, which you know came out in the mid 90s, so in this girl group was like 1998, 99.
Speaker 2:So anyway yeah, but it was just funny, because that's what I do is. I look at you know, oh, someone saying it sounds like this or it sounds like that. I was like I can't even begin to find a part of this song that sounds like this girl group song.
Speaker 1:So anyway, again somebody out there trying to get you know, give some bad rap to BTS with not really backing up their accusations, right?
Speaker 2:Having no basis for it, and even if he did use like a two bar progression or whatever, it's nothing like. You know what's his name? Vanilla ice, ice, ice, baby. Oh my goodness, when he, when he got that was bad. Yeah, exactly. And then who? Who else? Oh, the verb pipe. They got in trouble, yeah. They're just the verb I think yeah, for bitter sweet symphony, yeah. I love that song Right, but it it unfortunately did sound a lot like the Rolling Stones.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:That's so, you know but, I, mean. So it's people do sample and do take parts and do have little. You know, music is so complex all the time and You're bound to hear some. We talk about it all time. We're like oh, it sounds a little bit like earth, wind and fire.
Speaker 2:It sounds a little, you know, because music is you, you do, you have influences and you take Into account when you're thinking about music and creating music. You know there's sounds that just work and you want to use and yeah, there's a lot of similar sounds, right, you know, and it could be my different tempo, you know, as long as you're not actually Ripping the song, right and then
Speaker 1:put it in your like a lot of the rap songs that use samples From back in the 80s that they were doing for samples. Fortunately, beastie Boys was one of them that used a lot of sampling from old jazz songs that they're like listen, this is my song. Why are you doing, you know, like they need to do, actually pay off those artists, right? Because they literally ripping off samples from old albums to use the samples for their song. That's something that definitely is like a no, but I mean when it's created and Sometimes the guys are maybe just doing lyrics, they're not really doing composition, right?
Speaker 2:I mean, if you're ripping somebody's lyrics, I can see a problem, right, you know. And or if again you're using an entire stanza of music, not right? Not just a bar, like I mean, chord progressions are chord progressions, exactly. You use it, it's gonna sound like everybody else. Exactly, there's certain things, there's certain sounds that that are not unique and Everybody can use them, and everybody does but there are other things. Yeah, definitely, yeah. Oh, oh, who? Mc Hammer? He was another one who got in trouble with the yeah. I was like.
Speaker 1:I always thought it was super free.
Speaker 2:And then I'd be like oh wait, no, it's hammer, time Is hammer time exactly so, you know. I mean it's, yeah, music being universal and there's certain things all music use and have, and Sometimes the beats similar, the same Right, but what's going on elsewhere is different. You know, I mean a drums drum.
Speaker 1:Yeah, drum beats are the same. You know there's the same patterns and whatever Right, you know when some cultures may use a different pattern than all the ones.
Speaker 2:You know, but it's still drumbeat right, so anyways, yeah, so that's poor JK getting old for his.

Okay, in the post the netizen writes how sigh is going around teasing. Wasas debuted with the company Wasas, comeback is just around the corner and her label, ceo sigh, is leaking spoilers to everyone. But that's what they do.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's called a teaser for a reason. Why is this? Why is this a problem? People do teaser videos all the time, showing you like little snippets of what's to come. Exactly that's what like a reel and a short are all about. So what is people's problem and why? Why should she look the same she did when she was with mama mu? So the ladies get crap for the slightest. They're supposed to be sexual, but cute and not sexual. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 1:The double standard is outrageous. Pick their costume, People will nitpick. The way they wear their hair, the way they wear the nails, the way they wear the makeup, the way they just dance on stage, the way they sing I'm like really.
Speaker 2:Really, yeah, that's no, it's, they can't win. No, it's either too much or it's not enough, or they're, you know, just doing it for attention. Or they're like, well, they're an artist, they're an idol, like, of course they're doing it for the attention, otherwise they're not going to be, they're not, not like, it's just.

Ok, so that was like June made a joke about that, so I don't know if that means he did see ono. I'm sure they all messaged each other at least. Yeah, but wow, he's finally 40.

I ended up his birthday celebration with that one.

So so we dropped that episode and so, from sexy songs, have posted on his reels something, and the song that he posted was Baby Shark, which I'm like, oh my God, he's listening, his listening to episode so crazy.
Speaker 1:Talk about another. Like you know, weird. Yeah, you know, we're saying synchronized the kind of thing with our boys. You know, that is weird and I'm like I wonder, if they do, maybe it can be does and then does translation for them? That could be.
