Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Collector with me, Sarah.

Speaker 2

And Sarah was going to have a brain fart there. I'm not even looking at her, just from the sound of her voice.

Speaker 1

Kind of like you know it's, it's the sugar. We did it again. We had some, some snacks, chips and salsa, but then some cookies, oh yes, cookies, good old chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip, nice, nice, nice the good stuff yes, stuff that can't, that sar Sarah can eat. Yeah, one of the rare treats, right right. Well, it's specifically designed for me to be able to eat it, so that's good.

Speaker 2

Oh, you can eat macaroons right, Because they're made out of almond flour? Yes, yeah, I can, so those are good too, when they're made correctly.

Speaker 1

You know, yeah, not everybody can make macaroons. Well, yeah, not everybody can make all of it though. Yeah, because you can make everything without gluten, but it doesn't all taste good, no, and of course the good ones a lot of money oh yeah okay.

Speaker 2

So I just noticed something. What, ooh, okay, no, okay. So we have promised a fandom that we are going to talk about the latest album of one of our favorite as well. So I just want to say, earth, are you ready? We're going to talk about Orbit's new album. It's just some kanji and I think it's Ran right.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I think so, because it's a kanji that I'm not well known about or don't know, but I could be wrong. Miss Sarah is going to check on her phone what is the translation for Orbit's newest album, because when I was looking here on their ex Twitter, they don't have it translated. They just have the actual kanji According to Google Translate.

Speaker 1

We all know how good that is. It's orchid, orchid. Okay, that could be wrong, but no matter how many times I take it away and put it back, that's what it says.

Speaker 2

Orchid. All right, we're going by Google Translate. I do like that name, orchid. Where did I saw that said ran, because I'll bet I did. I don't know.

Speaker 1

Well, you know, I mean. Yeah. Well, that's what I was just going to say. The actual name of the kanji could be Ran. It translates to orchid, so that's where I saw the Ran. Yeah, it's the.

Speaker 2

I guess the pronunciation it's Ran, but it's orchid.

Speaker 1

Ran, yeah, okay, so that's the translation. Translation.

Speaker 2

Earth, please let us know.

Speaker 1

Because you know we have a tendency to mispronounce.

Speaker 2

Of course we do it's, it's like our thing and not. Well, you know, like I said, I I'm I'll stop learning japanese, and it's been a while so yeah, I'm still only at the picking out certain words and phrases stage. Oh, geez, yeah, no, I'm like really out there, but I can count to a certain number though, All right, so anyways. So yeah, Earth, we're going to be talking about Orbit's latest album, Orchid. Orbit, Orchid Run.

Speaker 2

Run In Japanese hopefully that's how it's pronounced and we already chatted on two songs. Bullseyes first, because that came out, wow, months ago. Yeah, like geez. It's that. We were like so excited, like, yay, new album, when, when, and it was just like okay, so bullseye's out, when are they gonna? You know, like, when are they gonna come out with a new album?

Speaker 2

because the last album it was, uh, alter ego and that was from like 2021 yeah and then the boys, uh, that the korean members had to do their military service, so that took, uh, you know the two years. So bullseye came out on january 31st.

Speaker 1

Wow, yeah, wow right, you know, actually, because we were, we spent so much time being like when's the album, when's the album? They kept teasing everything and the teasing started happening.

Speaker 2

I'm like, come on, cut the shit with that, I'm done with it. No, why wait so many teasers? Why wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You know like, drop the album, drop the album. Then they came out with, uh, money bag seven, uh, which it was. All the members had, you know, a rap line in it and we were like so happy about that, and that one came out during the summer. If I believe, uh, that was on april no, it's not even summer.

Speaker 1

Okay, april 20th yeah I was like I was thinking may okay, april, yeah, I'm 420.

Speaker 2

On that day I went to see bad bunny.

Speaker 2

Hey, anyways yeah and then on your lip was then released and we're like, yay, the album. Then they started talking about the album and we were like, so excited, it's just gonna happen next month. No, the uh on your lip came out on august 12th. And then they're like, oh yeah, it's gonna come out. And blah, blah, blah. We're like, what september? No, I was like, why is you know? I was just being impatient because it's been so long and they have dropped an album. It's finally here, finally, finally, finally. So on september 17th they have dropped the album. Patience was the second song that actually they did a single for and we can't wait to talk about it. But of course we're gonna also talk about upper side and in the stars which I'm looking here on the Spotify.

Speaker 2

Again, thank you, spotify, for having us on the podcast. Let's see. Do you want to go by? We can go by. Do you want to do random generation? Or we can go from the last stream to the most stream, we can do that, okay. Stream to the most stream, we can do that, okay. So the less stream from those three songs that I mentioned is in the stars currently, right now, on september 28th, 9682. So let's start with that one, which is track number four from their latest album. Here we go. From their latest album. Here we go.

Speaker 1

Oh, sweet voice, I was going to say, yeah, a little dreamy.

Speaker 2

Oh, this is a ballad. Yeah, this is oh, but it's picking up though.

Speaker 1

Well, I have been sort of listening to this album. I love this song. I'll tell you that straight out. It's just, it's very pretty, it's beautiful. This, the pickup, the romantic in me, yeah, enjoys this.

Speaker 2

I'm not a hundred percent, sure, but I sort of have a feeling it's about like we're written in the stars. It starts with that somber um guitar, oh, here we go, oh and listen to the harmony.

Speaker 1

I know, but like, how beautiful is this? Yeah, their vocals are amazing and it's their vocal doing all the work. Yeah, the music's sort of secondary right. It's the way they're singing, that particular like line you may dream. So if you're a romantic, check out this song, because it is. It just sort of draws you right into this whole dreamy state of mind. I don't know I love him.

Speaker 2

He's so cute.

Speaker 1

He is yeah. Well, we've always said, though, these guys like their vocals are just so powerful and strong, yeah, and I think that this song showcases that. Yeah. And again, I'm a sucker for a good romantic tune. You wouldn't know it when I'm usually like yeah but we love music, you know but he has did that in the stars.

Speaker 2

Oh, it is a very sweet song, right? Oh, the vocals are just please like, like they they are. They're just trying to sweep you off your feet and romance you and it's yeah, I could be totally wrong, but that's what it sounds like it's just, it's beautiful, uh, you know all of them, definitely when they take their turn, you know, with their vocals, oh yeah, it grabs your heart.

Speaker 1

It's so beautiful that part leading up to the chorus is just so swirling romantic. You are in the stars. You know what I mean. It's just, it's gorgeous, and their voices for that like I said they, they carry it with their voices. You sort of lose track of the music because you're just listening to that transition. It's just beautiful and they're great at that I net.

Speaker 2

You know we don't see their shows or anything like that but. I can definitely picture just them out there. No crazy dance move. Oh yeah, it's just, you know, trying to get your attention to just I will be just mesmerized just looking at them while they're singing the song like wow, I mean it's because it's so beautiful. Their voices are very. They attract you, especially with this range, just everybody's vocals and the bland bad pun.

Speaker 1

It's crazy a bad pun. They bring you into their orbit well, that's why they're called orbit exactly. No, that's exactly what I say, that they do they draw you in, they attract you and you're just sort of pulled in.

Speaker 2

Well, in the stars, are we the stars? We're orbiting around them. You know, yep, oh, but it's so beautiful and, of course, I can hear my yugo and I'm like he's so sweet, love him. His voice, oh, my god, it's just this boy's look and his voice, it's oh, you can tell, because it's like it's yugo's vlog in hokkaido oh I was like I'm going out with my son, we're going to hokkaido, going to eat, treating mama out, it was so sweet.

Speaker 1

I'm like, oh my kid, he's so well, he's what he's 24 I know yeah, yeah, well, yeah, no, I know still your kid, but it's not like he's a little, you know I just come on, I just see him, but he's so. He is so sweet. He must hate that I know he must everybody's always like you're so cute, you're so sweet, you're so little you know, he's all let's probably. Maybe he loves it, who knows, maybe he does, that's you know.

Speaker 2

Okay, so I keep myself cute. Yeah, oh, the lady's gonna love me because I'm cute. They're gonna give me all their money. Let me tell you, if I was in japan, I'll be giving him all my money. I'll buy you anything, boy.

Speaker 1

Well then, oh my god and then the opposite of that. You got tomo, who's like I'm gonna smolder at you and you hand over your money because you're in a trance like, oh my god, take it all you, yo some of these pictures that he throws out. I'm like I'm starting to. I'm starting to, you know, appreciate others too, though.

Speaker 2

June he's beautiful, Yo Beautiful. Some of the pictures for this comeback. I'm like, wow, where have you been, I know right. Well, I'm not being preoccupied with the cuteness that you go, you know, throws out, but yeah, like one of these pictures that it, that I'm like he's.

Speaker 1

I was just like wow, well, yeah, I mean, I think you know, because when you pick out your favorite, you know when you zone in on someone, you sort of zone in on them. So I think that with this comeback that uh I'm, I'm starting to look at everybody right, you know the whole unit. So because definitely, uh he cho and uh yundong are both yundong I actually have found very handsome lately also. So so everybody, everybody has their appeal. That's what's good. Shunya, I like him with the dark hair. Now.

Speaker 2

Shunya, I like shunya, he's just the joker. Oh yeah, no, sassy, he's like the comic relief most of the time.

Speaker 1

But even he, he's got a look about him, yes, especially now that he's put his hair back to dark. I was like you're a completely different person, mm-hmm, and yeah, no, I always liked him because he was just a character. No matter what, you couldn't help but like him. But he's sort of like a chameleon almost yeah. Yes, changing how he presents himself to everybody. All the guys, all of them are awesome.

Speaker 2

Yes, they are, but oh my God, I'm trying to remember the name of who was it. I was like, wow, like he just popped for me just the pictures that they're using. Um, oh god for the.

Speaker 1

He has the um a lip ring on the comeback in their uh, there's in the seven sins, so yeah stuff. So hechu or hechu? Yeah, I I'm not sure how. Like we said, we're not always the best at pronouncing everything. Young whom, young whom?

Speaker 2

he's the one that, oh, that comeback picture. I was like whoa, whoa, whoa, like I was, I could it. Just I was mesmerized, like wow, where are you, where did you came from? Is I don't know if it was just the hair, because he also had hair extensions on him that I was like wow. So I wonder if it was dad. And then they put like this fake scar on his face, which I don't know if that also.

Speaker 1

yes, yeah, yeah young, I yeah Young. We have Yoon Dong and Young Hyun. Yeah.

Speaker 2

Young Hyun is the one that the combat picture just completely yeah, yeah, I was like blown away, like whoa Do you see what I'm saying about Yoon Dong too. Though he's a very handsome young man, he is and I think you know, and I think it was this, and June, very handsome young man he is, but and I think you know, and I think it was this, and june too, yeah, well, I was gonna say yeah, this concept photos, this concept for the album.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that made me notice, june. I was like wait a minute where were you?

Speaker 2

for him, for you was june. For me was uh, um, young, uh, young. Whom? It was Jun? For me it was Younghoon. It was the one that yeah.

Speaker 1

We're both like Keep the names straight, are they? All Kim, I'll bet they are yes. Oh wait, no, kim Young and Jung Younghoon Younghoon, kim Yoondong Young. Again, we're probably saying this wrong.

Speaker 2

I'm going to say Young, because if I go Young, who they're just it's gonna be? But we have yundong.

Speaker 1

Oh, but that he, he show, is, um, also a kim. Okay, well see, but you know, I got my my kim thing, I got my kim thing. And tomo, yeah, well, he's a given for me, yeah, yeah, no, this was a great concept. Yes, the seven, seven sins. Very well done you go. So cutesy though with the like gummy bears stuck to his I know.

Speaker 2

So my boy yugo is gonna turn 24 this year.

Speaker 1

He's not 24 yet.

Speaker 2

No, December 13. He will be 24. My baby, he's my baby, he's my son, he's my cutie boo. I mean my cutie boo, okay, anyways let's go back to music.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, he and Tomo are like around the same time because tomo's the 19th. He'll be 28 finally look at you, 28.

Speaker 2

Finally, what still a child? Wait, so yugo's the baby.

Speaker 1

He is the baby.

Speaker 2

I told you he was the baby. He's a baby, yeah, super baby Okay.

Speaker 1

All right, we should get back to the music.

Speaker 2

Yes, so let's go with the upper side.

Speaker 1

We're like blah, blah blah.

Speaker 2

So we're going to talk about Orbit's upper side and we'll start that right now.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah this is the fun tune yeah, the like this is the sing along with everybody. Yeah, have a few drinks and do some karaoke.

Speaker 2

Yes, and do this one because it's hyper right, this one where you're waving your light stick your light stick like frantically. This one should have chance it may, we don't know we haven't seen it.

Speaker 1

You know the fans always start inserting their own stuff into it it's interesting they've got like strings in the background right, so it's like orchestrated fun why do I feel like this should be in an anime?

Speaker 2

right, totally, here we go the chant.

Speaker 1

Yep, hey, hey hey, yeah, so they got that like the background chant going on. Have you seen the concept stuff for this for?

Speaker 2

this song. Yeah, is this the one for school? Huh, this is the one.

Speaker 1

They're in a school oh, I don't know about in a school they've been doing little clips, I guess, on instagram and stuff.

Speaker 2

Right, they're like in a schoolyard, they're in a school.

Speaker 1

Okay, I've only seen them out in a field, like they're on a soccer field or something. Yeah, but everybody's wearing the like long jean shorts. Yeah, but there's also pictures of them in classrooms. Oh really, I haven't seen those.

Speaker 2

That's why I'm like the one in the school. Those I guess that's why I'm like the one in the school must be being picky. No, I know which ones you're gonna you pick.

Speaker 1

It's the ones from tomo being all smoldered. No, actually, most of what I saw was june, which is when I I noticed him then I guess I'm the one only seeing the tomo ones.

Speaker 2

It's been coming up. He's wearing this crop jeans thing.

Speaker 1

Now I'm going to be going on Instagram. I've only seen a couple of things of him, but not anything like. It's been Shunya and Jun that I've seen, and maybe I think Yoon Dong is who else I've seen.

Speaker 2

Yeah, this is totally a school thing. This is totally a school song. Rom-com High school yeah.

Speaker 1

Well, it's just so fun yeah.

Speaker 2

Up the side. Hey, I don't have a light stick, but I'm waving my hand.

Speaker 1

Janai, isn't that? It's like saying, aren't we?

Speaker 2

I don't know, I think I said it right. Hey, hey, hey, hey, what soda sore oh okay, well, very energetic.

Speaker 1

Yes, definitely like pep rally.

Speaker 2

Yes, school spirit that's why we've been seeing them looking like they're in, like some kind of school thing.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they're not wearing uniforms. But it's right, very peppy yeah, well, it sort of gave me more. Just sort of like the bunch of guys hanging out having a good time kicking around the fields, whatever, doing some light sport okay I got it, yeah, yeah, but I'm not sure. Uh, we should, we should try and find the lyrics for this, because I'm like, well, you know when we think upper side.

Speaker 2

We're thinking like you know, I know uptown manhattan, so I went, like you know, to usual places to get for lyrics and I can't find them oh really the funny thing is that remember that I kept yelling. We need lyrics, I want lyrics and whatever. And they came out with these shorts on instagram of like lyrics in english for the song patience, oh and that was it and I was like well, well, thank you very much uh to uh the company uh, but it's not gonna help me, like hello, where I need lyrics, where I can find lyrics.

Speaker 1

Uh, fans, please, I need lyrics jeez, the only thing I can think of to do here. Let me see so dream passport.

Speaker 2

We need lyrics for this album. I'm sure the lyrics are gonna be in in the album which we can't find. Girlfriend, what are you doing to me? I was trying to see You're going to strike us out.

Speaker 1

They won't hear it. They won't hear it. No, I was trying to see if they had them attached to the song.

Speaker 2

No, that's what I'm saying there's no lyrics on Spotify. The only thing I'm thinking in the CD are lyrics. We ain't got the CD. There's nowhere around here that we got the CD. Help me out here, Dream Passport. You know our international peeps cannot really get the CD right away.

Speaker 1

But yeah, they don't even have anything on Lyric Genius or any of those no, I even checked there too nothing. What about on youtube? Was there any? Is it subtitled their video?

Speaker 1

I haven't watched it so maybe japanese, yeah, but we could use the bad google translate to watch it and have it. Oh man, yeah, because I'm just trying to think, like, what would Upper Side be about? Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, what the heck? So yeah, there's just no sign of lyrics anywhere, no lyrics that we can find. There is no video. I was mistaken, it was only youtube music, not an actual video right, it's just like, so we can't even look at subtitles and no, no, we have no idea what it's about.

Speaker 2

Someone is listening because they did a lyric video for patients, but only just for that little the. You know the chorus which is very spicy you know.

Speaker 2

So that's why I'm like so I was so excited when I saw that on instagram because I'm like oh, maybe it's already out, nothing. I'm like that's it. Come on Dream passport. Hello, you know, I know you're listening, because why would you do that? Or somebody is listening, maybe one of the boys is listening. Hi, is it you girl? Hi, you know like, yeah, I know, I know. Okay, so Earth help.

Speaker 1

What is Upper Side? Yeah, we just want to because it just sounds so fun it is in the the little shorts and tiktoks, and whatever they've been doing, they just look like they're kicking around having a good time. Yeah, so we're. You know exactly? How does it connect to the song? That's all we right, that's all we're looking for.

Speaker 2

Exactly, we're loving the concepts. Oh my God, yeah, some of the pictures I'm like whoa blown away by everybody Well you know what?

Speaker 1

And it was funny because you were saying you know, you heard Yume and you're like oh dream. Yeah, Shunya has that, like you know, written on his cheek in the pictures for that. So maybe they're like chasing their dreams going for the upper side.

Speaker 2

The cool thing is like it looks like it was like uh, a band-aid. Yeah, usually when boys who are always mischievous like wear bandages, because they're always up to no good and they're screaming they always seem to yeah, get a cut on their cheek doing something you know, yep and he's one of them because he's like the one that likes to be mischievous.

Fangirl Comedians React to Music

Speaker 2

Uh, you know, just the prankster, let's say the rascal, the rascal. Yes, we love our rascal, we do. Shunya is one of the troublemakers you can tell. You know the way he acts and talks.

Speaker 2

That time that he got all like that, he was all tired, he was like he's all whiny like too funny, but uh, but even when they did, when I went out the video shorts that they show of them, some of the shows that they do but they don't really like show them act, you know they just show the whatever they're doing. Junya was dressed in like, I guess, a fangirl and he was interviewing the group. He was funny.

Speaker 1

He was funny.

Speaker 2

I'm like what Are you supposed to imitate? A fangirl? Oh, probably Shunya. Come on, come in proper, you're looking too funny there. It was like a polka dot dress. It was yeah, I don't know. I was like, okay, I don't know what to say about that. Well, we won't even get into the whole, but I think a lot of earth know what I'm talking about and those who have actually were are able to see them their shows in japan probably know what I'm talking about anyways, so we're gonna talk. Last but not least, yeah right.

Speaker 2

We already have been listening to the song. It is oh my God.

Speaker 1

Well, like I said, because this did come out last week, I don't even know 17. Yeah, so about a week ago, a little over a week ago. So we were sort of listening, but we weren't doing the old, old fashioned way.

Speaker 2

So we're this one. What did we do with old fashioned way we weren't doing a deep dive, Deep dive Because this is a new, new way of doing things.

Speaker 2

But we sort of cheated because we did listen to it a little bit over the past week Old fashioned way, it's just way of doing things, but we sort of cheated because we did listen to it a little bit over the past week. Huh what? You'll hear my voice in the recording. I know, I know what are you talking about Old-fashioned. When you say old-fashioned, all I can think is those old-fashioned donuts that they sell in New England, which are very delicious.

Speaker 1

I'm picturing Victorian-era people dressing in the old-fashioned way when we used to record on wax tubes and play it back on the ground. What the hell, Girl, you really went up. Come on, Addison, and the gramophone come on yeah but really went up, Really went up.

Speaker 2

Oh, my goodness. I do want to say those who are new to the podcast Sarah has a major in history so she knows a lot of all that stuff because college random, random stuff that's not exactly really helpful on the day-to-day basis right. So she has a lot of good, you know, insights for history, because of our random facts college background. I just want to point that out. She's not that old. This is knowledge from college. Yeah, I wasn't there. That's why. That's why I'm pointing this out. This is knowledge from college all right From college.

Speaker 2

All right, the good thing it's a study heart.

Speaker 1

Oh my God.

Speaker 2

Fighting, oh my God. Anyways, that's why I laugh at her.

Speaker 1

She's like old-fashioned, I'm like what are you talking about?

Speaker 2

old-fashioned? Stop it, stop it.

Speaker 1

Well, considering the podcast is only four years old, it's going to be four years old.

Speaker 2

It's still a toddler with three, but it is In December.

Speaker 1

It's going to be four, so it's not even like the old way we used to do things. How's that? The previous way we used to do things isn't even that old.

Speaker 2

Oh my gosh, All right.

Speaker 1

See, this is why though we're so much fun. Yes, because you never know what's going to happen, I know, and we're not just spewing out like random political stuff at you or sports. You know we're just having a good time. This is just a conversation.

Speaker 2

It's like going all over the place, just random things. I'll mr sarah will say something. I'll pick at it and we run with it. The same thing with her. I'll say something she'll like.

Speaker 1

What well, she'll run with it you know, it just triggers something in your brain and you're like, oh yeah, and I, every once in a while I stop and I go. You know, I realize like there's times where we don't even finish a thought because we're already moved on to something else. It reminded us. I was like people must get so confused because we just suddenly we know where we were going with it, so we don't finish the thought and we start the new thought. Yeah, and it must. I was like god, everybody listening to this just must be like what just happened. Did I black out for a?

Speaker 2

minute. We are fangirl comedians. Some of some people sees us as reviewers, which I'm fine with it, you believe, if we are awesome. Thank you very much for giving us that title. Um, and that's cool. We're just reacting to this music because, you know, wow, you know, some of these songs were like oh my god. You know, you know we're reacting to what we hear from the past experience or from listening to music since we were kids and playing music.

Speaker 2

We both did band things oh yeah, and singers we've been in bands so you know it's like and just, we have a lot to draw on.

Musical Influence and Appreciation

Speaker 1

It's amazing. I was just thinking about it's like just the other day, for some reason, I was, randomly, I was like I need a reset. So I was listening to some classical music and I was just like, oh, it sort of gives your brain a fresh start on all this pop music and stuff that we've been listening. Yes, music and stuff that we've been listening.

Speaker 1

yes, I was like it really sort of takes you out of yes, out of the sort of not a rut really but like you're just so into this whole, flown with the k-pop and the j-pop and the p-pop and the you know, it's like now that you said that on some beethoven and you're like sometimes like at work.

Speaker 2

I will put in like classic, like 90s. Uh, what is it? 90s retro dance. I'm like whoa and remember this.

Speaker 1

I'm like uh, you know no, I was talking like beethoven.

Speaker 2

I know you may go sorry once in a while we'll put in the classical station, which I am really mad at them.

Speaker 1

Uh-oh.

Speaker 2

Because they have taken out my Sunday Baroque. Oh really, sunday morning Baroque is gone. I am so mad. I'm so mad Because every okay. So Sunday morning is the usual chore heavy day Mornings, just the usual chore-heavy day. And Sunday Baroque it's just like my place. You know, when I have to cruise in the morning to go somewhere, there's no more Sunday Baroque. I am mad. I am to make, I'm going to say it in Spanish aquerella, in the station You're going to put in a complaint. I want to put a complaint. Okay, what did you do with my Sunday Baroque? What did you get rid of it? The station you're gonna put in a complaint. I want to put a complaint. Okay, what did? What did you do with my sunday borough? What did you get rid of it?

Speaker 1

it's been there for years well, and that's what sunday's for actually.

Speaker 2

You know, that's kind of the day you need that music, yeah I mean I'll be like okay, seeing that from orbit to like sunday borough, what the hell? Okay, so last but not least again, repeating myself we are going to talk about, or this patience. Be patient with us. Why is that so fitting? I hope the boys are listening to this and just laughing at us and just like you know.

Speaker 2

if they do, they probably do here understand who are we talking. It's like oh, there's that lady again talking about yugo and this lady, oh, we hear tomo and oh my, I want them to hear most butchering Hedgehog and Yongdong, and then Yonghoon.

Speaker 1

Yonghoon. See, I'm already mixing it up. You can't have people with similar names in the same Yongdong and Yonghoon. Yes.

Speaker 2

That's how I'm thinking, and then Hetcho. I'm thinking it's Hetcho.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that could be, but it's too.

Speaker 2

I don't know. See, you need to have more Yugos and more Tomos and more Juns. You know, Yugo, tomo Shunya, we can say that.

Speaker 1

Well, we could just call them joon kim and kim. Those. We can say oh my god, yes, we're awful we don't mean to be, it's just no, it's our language.

Speaker 2

I'm trying. Korean is harder than Japanese. Come on, people, be patient with me, be nice to me, okay, but I love you guys. I love you guys.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, you're all awesome, oh, all right, and who knows, we could be saying everybody's names wrong, the ones we think we know we might be saying wrong.

Speaker 2

So let's co-listen to Patience. I'm starting it right now. That off piano, woo Woo. That piano throws you off, because when that beat drops and that raspy voice comes in, yeah, now that piano soothing, oh voice, here we go. I feel like, ah, that distorted bass, thordid base.

Speaker 1

That's kind of a a dooming phrase. Seven sins are gonna come and take us all the sinner life.

Speaker 2

The breathy voice, please the breathy voice, oh yeah, bye, bye. The breathy voice, please the breathy voice, oh yeah, I mean that I know If we have a subwoofer in your car that's going to go, the whole thing will rattle.

Speaker 1

Yep.

Speaker 2

Oh.

Speaker 1

I love this part.

Speaker 2

Alan is a little patient. Did he say naughty, naughty?

Speaker 1

I thought he said not a not again oh.

Speaker 2

I thought it okay. See, that's why I need lyrics.

Speaker 1

Beware, because the seven sins will make you fall. Call me a liar Desire, because my desire. Desire.

Speaker 2

Sinner, sinner, sinner.

Speaker 1

Sinner sinner yeah.

Speaker 2

Sinner, sinner, sinner, sinner. That's what happens. You know you leave the boys, they become sinners. Know you leave the boys, they become sinners.

Speaker 1

So you keep the boys with you because then you know they're just gonna go cray, cray well you know if, if they came up to me as the seven sinners, I would definitely fall. The seven sinners mean the seven sins. Well, they are each a sin, so they're sinners. They're the sinners. Sorry, I was in some sort of trance there. That's something.

Speaker 2

I will say You're supposed to be with the proper English.

Speaker 1

What it's? Because they got me all flustered, all flustered, omg. Well, you know what's funny too, yes, as most people know, if you're new to orbit you may not know they're part korean, part japanese band. Right, it's a mixed group. It's funny that there's sort of you can sort of feel where there's more of a k-pop influence on some of the songs and more of a j-pop influence on some of the songs. It's it's very interesting. So this album, you're like, oh, this is like, yeah, classic K-pop. And then you're like oh this is classic J-pop.

Speaker 1

And then there's like the sort of in-between where you're like it's really kind of cool how they have their influences come in, but then they mix their influences and then sometimes they're their own complete genre.

Speaker 2

You're like I don't know what this is, but I love it.

Genre Influence in Orbit's Album

Speaker 1

But it was very interesting. When I listened to the album I was just like, oh, this is sort of like lean and more K-pop-y. And then this is more J-pop-y, like what you traditionally think of j-pop and k-pop, right, because?

Speaker 2

upper side to me sounds in more like a j-pop genre. Right, it has that. That vibe uh, patience is very k-pop well that's what right, that's what I was thinking.

Speaker 1

So, and then in the stars is sort of a mix it is a between between it is a between, but that's that's why I brought up, because I was thinking specifically. I was like the that patience was very k-pop influenced, right, whereas upper side was more j-pop. And again I'm I mean specifically j-pop poppy songs from japan, because there's definitely all kinds of music.

Speaker 2

Okay, so let's listen to on your lip, even though we talked about it. Oh yeah, let's see what's the vibe that's giving us, because I know the vibe for me, for, uh, bullseye was more k-pop. Do you want to re-listen to that one?

Speaker 1

remember to remember it well, I'm I'm sort of remembering, but like it's hard to, because now I'm thinking of it in terms of Right Now, my brain is stuck.

Speaker 2

So now that you said that, let's go revisit On your Lip, okay, because I love this so much, it's so cool.

Speaker 1

Well, this one's so playful. Okay, that's K-pop, right there. I was going to say that's K-pop. Okay, that's k-pop, right? Yeah, I was gonna say that's k-pop, but the overall feel idea of the song to me seems more j-poppy I don't know.

Speaker 2

I think this is more geared to. This is one song that it just like you're really gonna take it in.

Speaker 1

No, this is very k-pop, yeah sort of yeah, the whole like production feel to it.

Speaker 2

But see, this is more j poppy the little on your lap ah, love that this is so high fashion for me, for you know, yugo so cute I love the little voices in the back.

Speaker 2

Yes, I think I know why you're saying more j-popping, because, no, this for me is very k-pop. But there's some aspect from a company that we follow that lately they've been taking some of that sound because they're trying to boost their artists. So they're like you can, because I cannot go by that company because they're completely revamping it oh yeah, no, no, but they already know what's the sound, so they've been using what is really working.

Speaker 1

I did say at the beginning yes, it is, but there's certain parts, yeah, where it's a little more J-pop. So this is one of those ones. It's sort of an in-between. It's a's sort of a an in-between, it's a transitional sort of drawing from both. It's so, so fun loving so because there's parts of it that are just a little too like, almost fast it's, there's a certain tone to things yeah and it's a little heavier on the k-pop side than it is on j-pop.

Speaker 1

That's what I mean. Okay, yeah, it's. It's hard to put into words because it's really sort of more, yeah, how you feel with the music, how the music sort of triggers in your brain whatever little sensors that it sets off, so that one, I think, is sort of a transitional one. I I think they're learning from each other k-pop and j-pop oh, yeah, like yeah, you know, borrow a little here, borrow a little there oh yeah make this sound and it's all good you know it's written by june was written in there.

Speaker 2

That's why I hear a lot of the k-pop. Yeah, he does he does a lot.

Speaker 1

He does a lot. His name shows up several places. Oh yeah, he's getting paid. Put my name out there.

Speaker 2

Work it, work it oh yeah, we love it when they do that.

Speaker 1

Definitely so awesome another album that is well-rounded because there's a song for everybody you know, and yeah, just a lot of different sounds yes, it's yes, worth taking a listen to just to to sort of experience all of those sounds and emotions, yes, that in in the stars. So romantic, so romantic, yes, yes that's that's my romance song you know.

Speaker 2

Then you have your happy-go-lucky upper side also. Bullseye seems to be like up you know happy-go-lucky type of you know song as well oh yeah, yeah, that one's.

Speaker 1

It's almost like it's a tongue-in-cheek, kind of like that. There's maybe some sort of double entendre going on within, yeah.

Speaker 2

You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, yeah, I can see that. And then we have our like oh songs. We got Patient and On your Lip, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. Those are my yes, those are two of my favorite songs On your Lip and Patient. Oh man, when Patient patient came out, I'm like what?

Speaker 1

I know, yeah, no, me too what? When I first heard that, I was like oh boy, geez dangerous.

Speaker 2

I was I was just making my sound and I'm like what, what, oh my god, what like it's just gibberish family were like huh, something saucy over there, because they know me oh my god, when I start talking like that and I'm like what, what, what is sassy, what, what, what's good, what's good? I'm like, this is good.

Speaker 1

They're like oh yeah see, I'm usually alone when I'm listening to it, so nobody sees my reaction. You don't show it to your sister oh no, she's got her own, like she'll listen to if she's in the car with me like if we're going to a show or something and she's in my car yeah, she's everybody's subjected to me a music. Oh yeah, I'm in charge although I have to tell you a funny story.

Speaker 1

I got, uh into a friend's car the one that called us the cult oh and uh, my phone was almost dead, so I was like, can I charge it? Well, of course, when you plug it in, ah, it takes over the sound system yeah it's like oh, you're connected now. I subjected that, but she was like. I was was like oh, I'm sorry, this is just some Japanese pop, I'll switch it you know, what do you want to hear?

Speaker 1

And she was like, actually, I don't mind this. I was like, really, oh, what were you listening? Well, I don't want to say, because we're talking about. Orbit, and it was unfortunately not Orbit.

Speaker 2

But it was another one of our j-pop groups and I think I know which one you're talking about.

Speaker 1

Yeah, she loves that she was like this I can listen to see.

Speaker 2

Really wow, yeah, because she's heavily into bass, she's also one that likes the bass.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well, I did that tour years ago too with monster x. I'll say that one because it's not the most recent, but, like we're talking, when Juano was still with the group. Yeah, so it's, the same thing had happened. I plugged my phone in and it was Monsta X, and I think it was a rodeo Might have been. She liked that one. She's like this is good.

Speaker 2

All right, don't knock down on the k-pop, because there's some songs in there.

Speaker 1

you're like so every once in a while, she, she understands where the cult is coming from. She's like, oh okay, this is good exactly. I hadn't thought to play her orbit, but I was because I had been listening to something else. It was just picked up where I left off. Anyway, more random stuff.

Speaker 2

I know.

Speaker 1

That's how it is.

Speaker 2

Can't stay focused on anything I know Earth. We're so glad that we listened to this album. We're so happy for the boys that they're finally come out with not so many albums. We're hoping that we listened to this album. We're so happy for the boys that they're finally come out with and it's a mini album, you know. We're hoping that more is to come for the guys now that they're all together.

Speaker 2

Yes, and um. I can tell from their social medias they're doing so many activities. They're doing vlogs, they're doing all the things they go they got their tv, they got their reels. Oh my god everything they're putting themselves out there, getting themselves pop you know now that they're all back together?

Speaker 1

yes, they're like all right.

Speaker 2

You know force but I want them to also take a break because I see all this stuff, activities that they're doing, that I'm like I hope they don't get burned down. I know they're back together and you know I know I'll be pushing them. I'm like I want mine, but come on, I don't want them to burn out either.

Speaker 1

Well, we were talking a few weeks ago about, like shunya, we were like he looks so tired, the poor guy, and it's because they are that they've they're trying to promote now that they're all there, they need to get themselves out there. So it's as much as we want them to rest. I do understand what they're doing. They're like let's just get ourselves rolling now as a whole unit. Finally, and we promise we will work on pronouncing everybody's names correctly because, like tom it tomoaki maybe I don't know how you, I'm not sure how you pronounce you or ando tomoaki, you could be right. Like I don't know if you blend the. I want to break it into two things tomoaki, right, it's just not correct.

Japan Travel Dreams

Speaker 1

But right, so I'll find him somewhere in here, so that's why I just call him tomo all the time, because you know june is june uehara tomo tomo aki ando ando tomo, so he'll have to forgive me, though. I'm just gonna call him tomo.

Speaker 2

I think everybody's in fact, because he's younger than me I can call all you can't argue with me, they're all cool yeah, then we have shunya osawa, and then my yugo is not only yugo, is yugo miyajima, or should I say miyajima? There's different.

Speaker 1

I've been saying a last thing incorrectly is not nakajima, is nakajima well, yeah, because, like in english, we have long a and short a. So we're starting we're starting to sort of catch on to how these things you know words are pronounced. But we're starting to sort of catch on to how these things you know words are pronounced, but we're still sort of completely lost with Korean. This is how we would say it. We're probably all wrong, of course. So the poor, poor guys, the Korean part of the band, we're sorry, we have completely butchered your name.

Speaker 2

Completely mispronounced your name.

Speaker 1

We're not trying to, we don't mean to yeah.

Speaker 2

We love your singing. You guys are awesome, Everybody's Well everything, everybody's.

Speaker 1

Their performances are all awesome.

Speaker 2

Yes, they are yes, yes, yes, anyways, I'm going to leave it like that. Yeah, okay, oh what? Yes, yes, yes, anyways, I'm gonna leave it like that. Yeah, okay, oh what? I have a thank you from an earth panic son. Thank you very much, oh my god, even in spanish, even in korean, uh, playing Patience by Orbit, you're welcome. De nada, no, okay, I'm not going to even say it In Japanese, I forgot how it is. But, oh my God, that's so cool. Thank you, I don't know if I want to say their name, it's Yoner. Oh, thank you, yoner, she's so cool.

Speaker 1

Will she be okay with you saying her name? Yeah, she knows.

Speaker 2

Okay, it's not her real name, but yeah, well, no, it's her handle.

Speaker 1

I know that but still Not everybody's like me. With the like it's, you know practically just my name. She likes it.

Speaker 2

She's cool. It's been a while since I have gotten any message from her. Maybe she has been so crazy over here on my social medias. Thank you everybody for listening and you know, and sharing the social medias for okay, asia and also music elixir. I appreciate you a lot, thank you, thank you, thank you. It's amazing. I know our major listeners are out there in japan.

Speaker 2

We appreciate you a lot yes, we do it's like everybody's going to japan except for us I just found out from a youtuber that I follow that for years that now he is going to japan to some cooking show and I'm like everybody's going to Japan with me. Why do you need to go over there? Your channel's not even a mile. I was just Exactly.

Speaker 1

You were salty. Exactly Like I said. Everybody's going to Japan, it's set for me, please.

Speaker 2

My mom's cousin went to Japan. My mom's cousin to. Japan, my mom's cousin and she's 75. And she went to Japan and she can't wait to go back.

Speaker 1

Oh really.

Speaker 2

Yeah, she's like I love it so much and she does not know the language. So I'm like, hmm, and she's like she's showing me her phone, Look at all the pictures, and I'm I know that person.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I know that one too, and I'm like, okay, well I keep trying to convince my dad to go back and just every time I almost have him convinced that he wants to go back, he's like, but it won't be the same. I'm like, oh my god. Of course not dad, but jesus. Just he wants it to be what it was when he was a kid.

Speaker 1

Oh, come on, dad, I'm like yeah I'm like dad, he's like, well, I had this favorite you know soba shop that I would hang out at, and I know it won't be there. I was like, oh my you don't know that, dad.

Speaker 2

What about if I'd gone, you know, from generation to?

Speaker 1

generation right.

Speaker 2

Because this happens a lot, especially in Japanese culture. You know it's a generational business. You don't know that Exactly. Oh, my dad, do you remember the name of the place? Do you remember where it was? Maybe I can just Google it and see if it's still there. Look dad, it's still there, let's go. Let's go have some soba.

Speaker 1

Look dad, it's still there, let's go, let's go, let's go. Five thousand dollars later, yeah, up that, oh, my god you know, because I thought it would be nice for him, nice little thing for him to go back, but he's flip-floppy. I'm like, well, I'm, I'm going to go someday.

Speaker 2

You know what you should find out the name of the soba place, and look it up, Go to Japan and be like look, dad, I'm having the sobas that you used to eat when you were down here. Delicious, you're missing out. Yeah, I told you to come over, old man.

Speaker 1

But I don't know if you want to have. I call him old man all the time Because you have told me I know you have told me I refer to him as old man.

Speaker 2

See, I know you oh man. Oh my God, See. No, I sometimes think it's better not, because he will probably tell you that's not the way you eat them. It has to give you a cultural lesson, and then you guys will be bickering all day I know right, yeah, because that doesn't happen all the time anyway so you know what? Yeah, don't go. Just ask him the name of the place and see if he's there.

Speaker 1

Go there myself. I'll take a selfie, send it to him send it to him.

Speaker 2

Okay, alright, we're done thank you everybody for listening and for sharing and just loving. You know music elixir. Please rate review in share, share, share. Please give us five stars because we love our constellations. You can tell we love orbit and that's part of the universe it's part.

Speaker 1

Yes, constellations have to do with orbit, I found out earth.

Speaker 2

Let me know, if I'm wrong, that the stone, the jewel, the stone for the group is lazuria lazurite lazuria. I think it is the gemstone.

Speaker 1

Yeah, is it for the group yes like dark blue it's I don't know how, but it's.

Speaker 2

But I'm like, oh man, I gotta find that find that I thought it was Lazarite.

Speaker 1

I mean it might just depend on how you say it.

Speaker 2

I guess yeah. Anyways, I was like, ooh, not gonna get me one.

Speaker 1

Okay, oh yeah, it is. It's Lazarite. I looked it up, their official fandom. Oh well, that's the color which is blue.

Speaker 2

But it is a stone.

Speaker 1

It is a stone I believe it's a stone. It is a stone. The egyptians used it a lot.

Speaker 2

Another random fact again, this is from college people. Sarah, indeed, is not that old, come on, it's just from college. Back in my Egyptian days when I was Okay. I'm going to make a confession. Sarah is a vampire.

Speaker 1

Yeah, here, wait, I looked it up. So lazari is a blue mineral which is the main component of lapis lazuli, which is the blue stone which is prominent in egyptian jewelry so yes okay, there we go, here we go. It's a beautiful. It is beautiful stone it is.

Speaker 2

I've got earrings that are lazarite nice, start wearing them, I'll have to.

Speaker 1

I need to get to prove my orbit fangirl status, exactly wear all the time. That's really funny. I've had their earrings. I've had for years, so, yeah, awesome. It's like I knew I probably got them the year all these guys were born omg well, they span a few years, so somewhere in there just remember, yugo was born in 2000.

Speaker 2

He's gonna be, 24 this year.

Speaker 1

Yeah okay, all right, so we lost track, but how about.

Speaker 2

Please become a subscriber so we can maintain this podcast. Hopefully somebody will be very, very generous and send us to Japan and um, you know, it's all expenses paid. I don't know when I say that out loud.

Speaker 1

I'm afraid we want to win the lottery, oh yes, and then we can go as all the style we can get those. All the style we can get those sleeper pod flights, you know, with the little personal space.

Speaker 2

Oh, yes, yeah, that would be nice if we win the lottery. Yes, we can do that, and then we can live in Japan for a little bit.

Speaker 1

Yes, we could buy one of those houses that nobody's hanging out in at the moment. Fix it up. Oh yeah that nobody's hanging out in at the moment. Fix it up, oh yeah, for like 10 grand. Yeah, yeah, fix it up live in it and then sell it when we're you know exactly, listen to us big players, I know well, we gotta manifest it right if we don't talk about it and put it out those our plans exactly the universe only gives to those who ask nicely.

Speaker 2

You're saying that stuff. I'm already picturing it in my head, which is good. You know, I got my third eye working on that. Go for it. Look at me humming oh my god people are like okay, they're on the deep end.

Speaker 1

They knew that already, and if you're new to the podcast, get used to this. This is how we are.

Speaker 2

Oh, my goodness, especially when it comes to our favorite, and we do. We dearly love this group. Huh, okay, so until next time. Bye, bye, johnny.
