Yeah, one of the rare treats, right right. Well, it's specifically designed for me to be able to eat it, so that's good.
Speaker 2Oh, you can eat macaroons right, Because they're made out of almond flour? Yes, yeah, I can, so those are good too, when they're made correctly.
Speaker 1You know, yeah, not everybody can make macaroons. Well, yeah, not everybody can make all of it though. Yeah, because you can make everything without gluten, but it doesn't all taste good, no, and of course the good ones a lot of money oh yeah okay.
Speaker 2So I just noticed something. What, ooh, okay, no, okay. So we have promised a fandom that we are going to talk about the latest album of one of our favorite as well. So I just want to say, earth, are you ready? We're going to talk about Orbit's new album. It's just some kanji and I think it's Ran right.
Speaker 2Yeah, I think so, because it's a kanji that I'm not well known about or don't know, but I could be wrong. Miss Sarah is going to check on her phone what is the translation for Orbit's newest album, because when I was looking here on their ex Twitter, they don't have it translated. They just have the actual kanji According to Google Translate.
Speaker 1We all know how good that is. It's orchid, orchid. Okay, that could be wrong, but no matter how many times I take it away and put it back, that's what it says.
Speaker 2Orchid. All right, we're going by Google Translate. I do like that name, orchid. Where did I saw that said ran, because I'll bet I did. I don't know.
Speaker 1Well, you know, I mean. Yeah. Well, that's what I was just going to say. The actual name of the kanji could be Ran. It translates to orchid, so that's where I saw the Ran. Yeah, it's the.

Oh, geez, yeah, no, I'm like really out there, but I can count to a certain number though, All right, so anyways. So yeah, Earth, we're going to be talking about Orbit's latest album, Orchid. Orbit, Orchid Run.
Speaker 2Run In Japanese hopefully that's how it's pronounced and we already chatted on two songs. Bullseyes first, because that came out, wow, months ago. Yeah, like geez. It's that. We were like so excited, like, yay, new album, when, when, and it was just like okay, so bullseye's out, when are they gonna? You know, like, when are they gonna come out with a new album?
Speaker 2because the last album it was, uh, alter ego and that was from like 2021 yeah and then the boys, uh, that the korean members had to do their military service, so that took, uh, you know the two years. So bullseye came out on january 31st.
Speaker 1Wow, yeah, wow right, you know, actually, because we were, we spent so much time being like when's the album, when's the album? They kept teasing everything and the teasing started happening.
Speaker 2I'm like, come on, cut the shit with that, I'm done with it. No, why wait so many teasers? Why wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You know like, drop the album, drop the album. Then they came out with, uh, money bag seven, uh, which it was. All the members had, you know, a rap line in it and we were like so happy about that, and that one came out during the summer. If I believe, uh, that was on april no, it's not even summer.
Speaker 1Okay, april 20th yeah I was like I was thinking may okay, april, yeah, I'm 420.
Speaker 2On that day I went to see bad bunny.
Speaker 2Hey, anyways yeah and then on your lip was then released and we're like, yay, the album. Then they started talking about the album and we were like, so excited, it's just gonna happen next month. No, the uh on your lip came out on august 12th. And then they're like, oh yeah, it's gonna come out. And blah, blah, blah. We're like, what september? No, I was like, why is you know? I was just being impatient because it's been so long and they have dropped an album. It's finally here, finally, finally, finally. So on september 17th they have dropped the album. Patience was the second song that actually they did a single for and we can't wait to talk about it. But of course we're gonna also talk about upper side and in the stars which I'm looking here on the Spotify.

Speaker 2Oh, this is a ballad. Yeah, this is oh, but it's picking up though.
Speaker 1Well, I have been sort of listening to this album. I love this song. I'll tell you that straight out. It's just, it's very pretty, it's beautiful. This, the pickup, the romantic in me, yeah, enjoys this.
Speaker 2I'm not a hundred percent, sure, but I sort of have a feeling it's about like we're written in the stars. It starts with that somber um guitar, oh, here we go, oh and listen to the harmony.
Speaker 1I know, but like, how beautiful is this? Yeah, their vocals are amazing and it's their vocal doing all the work. Yeah, the music's sort of secondary right. It's the way they're singing, that particular like line you may dream. So if you're a romantic, check out this song, because it is. It just sort of draws you right into this whole dreamy state of mind. I don't know I love him.
Speaker 2He's so cute.
Speaker 1He is yeah. Well, we've always said, though, these guys like their vocals are just so powerful and strong, yeah, and I think that this song showcases that. Yeah. And again, I'm a sucker for a good romantic tune. You wouldn't know it when I'm usually like yeah but we love music, you know but he has did that in the stars.
Speaker 2Oh, it is a very sweet song, right? Oh, the vocals are just please like, like they they are. They're just trying to sweep you off your feet and romance you and it's yeah, I could be totally wrong, but that's what it sounds like it's just, it's beautiful, uh, you know all of them, definitely when they take their turn, you know, with their vocals, oh yeah, it grabs your heart.
Speaker 1It's so beautiful that part leading up to the chorus is just so swirling romantic. You are in the stars. You know what I mean. It's just, it's gorgeous, and their voices for that like I said they, they carry it with their voices. You sort of lose track of the music because you're just listening to that transition. It's just beautiful and they're great at that I net.
Speaker 2You know we don't see their shows or anything like that but. I can definitely picture just them out there. No crazy dance move. Oh yeah, it's just, you know, trying to get your attention to just I will be just mesmerized just looking at them while they're singing the song like wow, I mean it's because it's so beautiful. Their voices are very. They attract you, especially with this range, just everybody's vocals and the bland bad pun.
Speaker 1It's crazy a bad pun. They bring you into their orbit well, that's why they're called orbit exactly. No, that's exactly what I say, that they do they draw you in, they attract you and you're just sort of pulled in.
Speaker 2Well, in the stars, are we the stars? We're orbiting around them. You know, yep, oh, but it's so beautiful and, of course, I can hear my yugo and I'm like he's so sweet, love him. His voice, oh, my god, it's just this boy's look and his voice, it's oh, you can tell, because it's like it's yugo's vlog in hokkaido oh I was like I'm going out with my son, we're going to hokkaido, going to eat, treating mama out, it was so sweet.
Speaker 1I'm like, oh my kid, he's so well, he's what he's 24 I know yeah, yeah, well, yeah, no, I know still your kid, but it's not like he's a little, you know I just come on, I just see him, but he's so. He is so sweet. He must hate that I know he must everybody's always like you're so cute, you're so sweet, you're so little you know, he's all let's probably. Maybe he loves it, who knows, maybe he does, that's you know.

So I think that with this comeback that uh I'm, I'm starting to look at everybody right, you know the whole unit. So because definitely, uh he cho and uh yundong are both yundong I actually have found very handsome lately also. So so everybody, everybody has their appeal. That's what's good. Shunya, I like him with the dark hair. Now.

I do want to say those who are new to the podcast Sarah has a major in history so she knows a lot of all that stuff because college random, random stuff that's not exactly really helpful on the day-to-day basis right. So she has a lot of good, you know, insights for history, because of our random facts college background. I just want to point that out. She's not that old. This is knowledge from college. Yeah, I wasn't there. That's why. That's why I'm pointing this out. This is knowledge from college all right From college.

Speaker 1What well, she'll run with it you know, it just triggers something in your brain and you're like, oh yeah, and I, every once in a while I stop and I go. You know, I realize like there's times where we don't even finish a thought because we're already moved on to something else. It reminded us. I was like people must get so confused because we just suddenly we know where we were going with it, so we don't finish the thought and we start the new thought. Yeah, and it must. I was like god, everybody listening to this just must be like what just happened. Did I black out for a?
Speaker 2minute. We are fangirl comedians. Some of some people sees us as reviewers, which I'm fine with it, you believe, if we are awesome. Thank you very much for giving us that title. Um, and that's cool. We're just reacting to this music because, you know, wow, you know, some of these songs were like oh my god. You know, you know we're reacting to what we hear from the past experience or from listening to music since we were kids and playing music.
Speaker 2We both did band things oh yeah, and singers we've been in bands so you know it's like and just, we have a lot to draw on.
Musical Influence and Appreciation
Speaker 1It's amazing. I was just thinking about it's like just the other day, for some reason, I was, randomly, I was like I need a reset. So I was listening to some classical music and I was just like, oh, it sort of gives your brain a fresh start on all this pop music and stuff that we've been listening. Yes, music and stuff that we've been listening.
Speaker 1yes, I was like it really sort of takes you out of yes, out of the sort of not a rut really but like you're just so into this whole, flown with the k-pop and the j-pop and the p-pop and the you know, it's like now that you said that on some beethoven and you're like sometimes like at work.
Speaker 2I will put in like classic, like 90s. Uh, what is it? 90s retro dance. I'm like whoa and remember this.
Speaker 1I'm like uh, you know no, I was talking like beethoven.

Well, you know what's funny too, yes, as most people know, if you're new to orbit you may not know they're part korean, part japanese band. Right, it's a mixed group. It's funny that there's sort of you can sort of feel where there's more of a k-pop influence on some of the songs and more of a j-pop influence on some of the songs. It's it's very interesting. So this album, you're like, oh, this is like, yeah, classic K-pop. And then you're like oh this is classic J-pop.
Speaker 1And then there's like the sort of in-between where you're like it's really kind of cool how they have their influences come in, but then they mix their influences and then sometimes they're their own complete genre.
Speaker 2You're like I don't know what this is, but I love it.
Genre Influence in Orbit's Album
Speaker 1But it was very interesting. When I listened to the album I was just like, oh, this is sort of like lean and more K-pop-y. And then this is more J-pop-y, like what you traditionally think of j-pop and k-pop, right, because?
Speaker 2upper side to me sounds in more like a j-pop genre. Right, it has that. That vibe uh, patience is very k-pop well that's what right, that's what I was thinking.
Speaker 1So, and then in the stars is sort of a mix it is a between between it is a between, but that's that's why I brought up, because I was thinking specifically. I was like the that patience was very k-pop influenced, right, whereas upper side was more j-pop. And again I'm I mean specifically j-pop poppy songs from japan, because there's definitely all kinds of music.
Speaker 2Okay, so let's listen to on your lip, even though we talked about it. Oh yeah, let's see what's the vibe that's giving us, because I know the vibe for me, for, uh, bullseye was more k-pop. Do you want to re-listen to that one?

Speaker 2I think this is more geared to. This is one song that it just like you're really gonna take it in.
Speaker 1No, this is very k-pop, yeah sort of yeah, the whole like production feel to it.
Speaker 2But see, this is more j poppy the little on your lap ah, love that this is so high fashion for me, for you know, yugo so cute I love the little voices in the back.
Speaker 2Yes, I think I know why you're saying more j-popping, because, no, this for me is very k-pop. But there's some aspect from a company that we follow that lately they've been taking some of that sound because they're trying to boost their artists. So they're like you can, because I cannot go by that company because they're completely revamping it oh yeah, no, no, but they already know what's the sound, so they've been using what is really working.
Speaker 1I did say at the beginning yes, it is, but there's certain parts, yeah, where it's a little more J-pop. So this is one of those ones. It's sort of an in-between. It's a's sort of a an in-between, it's a transitional sort of drawing from both. It's so, so fun loving so because there's parts of it that are just a little too like, almost fast it's, there's a certain tone to things yeah and it's a little heavier on the k-pop side than it is on j-pop.
Speaker 1That's what I mean. Okay, yeah, it's. It's hard to put into words because it's really sort of more, yeah, how you feel with the music, how the music sort of triggers in your brain whatever little sensors that it sets off, so that one, I think, is sort of a transitional one. I I think they're learning from each other k-pop and j-pop oh, yeah, like yeah, you know, borrow a little here, borrow a little there oh yeah make this sound and it's all good you know it's written by june was written in there.
Speaker 2That's why I hear a lot of the k-pop. Yeah, he does he does a lot.
Speaker 1He does a lot. His name shows up several places. Oh yeah, he's getting paid. Put my name out there.

Speaker 1Definitely so awesome another album that is well-rounded because there's a song for everybody you know, and yeah, just a lot of different sounds yes, it's yes, worth taking a listen to just to to sort of experience all of those sounds and emotions, yes, that in in the stars. Speaker 2Then you have your happy-go-lucky upper side also. Bullseye seems to be like up you know happy-go-lucky type of you know song as well oh yeah, yeah, that one's.
Speaker 1It's almost like it's a tongue-in-cheek, kind of like that. There's maybe some sort of double entendre going on within, yeah.
Speaker 2You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, yeah, I can see that. And then we have our like oh songs. We got Patient and On your Lip, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. Those are my yes, those are two of my favorite songs On your Lip and Patient. Oh man, when Patient patient came out, I'm like what?
Speaker 1I know, yeah, no, me too what? When I first heard that, I was like oh boy, geez dangerous.
Speaker 2I was I was just making my sound and I'm like what, what, oh my god, what like it's just gibberish family were like huh, something saucy over there, because they know me oh my god, when I start talking like that and I'm like what, what, what is sassy, what, what, what's good, what's good? I'm like, this is good.
Speaker 1They're like oh yeah see, I'm usually alone when I'm listening to it, so nobody sees my reaction. You don't show it to your sister oh no, she's got her own, like she'll listen to if she's in the car with me like if we're going to a show or something and she's in my car yeah, she's everybody's subjected to me a music. Oh yeah, I'm in charge although I have to tell you a funny story.
Speaker 1I got, uh into a friend's car the one that called us the cult oh and uh, my phone was almost dead, so I was like, can I charge it? Well, of course, when you plug it in, ah, it takes over the sound system yeah it's like oh, you're connected now. I subjected that, but she was like. I was was like oh, I'm sorry, this is just some Japanese pop, I'll switch it you know, what do you want to hear?
Speaker 1And she was like, actually, I don't mind this. I was like, really, oh, what were you listening? Well, I don't want to say, because we're talking about. Orbit, and it was unfortunately not Orbit.
Speaker 2But it was another one of our j-pop groups and I think I know which one you're talking about.

Yeah, so it's, the same thing had happened. I plugged my phone in and it was Monsta X, and I think it was a rodeo Might have been. She liked that one. She's like this is good.
