New Year's Day Jump Party Recap

Speaker 1

Hey everybody , welcome to another episode of Music Elixir with me , sarah Ann . Happy New Year . No fair , I was going to say we should just say that together . I should have started with it then . So , yes , happy New Year .

Speaker 2

I'm getting back at you something you did .

Speaker 1

We can talk about that later .

Speaker 2

I was going gonna confess to that anyways , um , the one here whining is miss panic hi everybody we'll discuss . Why am I whining on one of the episodes , I don't know which ?

Speaker 1

well , this one's gonna come up before the rants and rambling yeah , yeah , we'll be doing a rants and ramblings for sure , because so much has happened with the new year .

Speaker 2

Oh , my goodness , you know I was away for eight days and then we didn't see each other for a while . We have not had a chance to like really talk and yeah . But we got together on New Year's Day . We celebrated late . We didn't celebrate it with this group when it was live because we were at work .

Speaker 1

You know , gotta come first , but you know that's what pays the bills Exactly , you know , and that's the problem with being 12 to 14 hours behind .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I know some people probably saying you could have just had the day off . Unfortunately , I already took like eight days off from work , so , no , I don't think my boss would be very happy about that , unless it was an emergency . It was a good thing about this because there was an archive . Yay , yes , all right , so we are going to talk about .

Speaker 1

Hey Say Jumps , jump Party .

Speaker 2

Yes , which it was through the family club . We got a ticket . Internationally , everybody get a ticket . Everybody was able to see this , it was just not only Japan . This is everybody .

Speaker 1

No , if you can , you know , sign yourself up and get in , you can get yourself a ticket . How exciting is that . Someday I'll switch from a Japanese account to an English .

Speaker 2

To the international account . Well , they did that years after I'd already set something up so you and many and many , many fans are like oh man , okay now I can just have this now , but of course , um , I don't know if well , anyways , I don't know if if the fan club , the international and also the uh japanese fan club , had the same time of drop of , you know , like archive yeah , I think so yeah right , okay , so we saw the archive on new year's day , so we're kind of like you know , yeah , it was still good it was still celebrating .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , it's good .

Speaker 2

It's good . I think the archive is good until the seventh yeah , usually like seven days or so . But oh and gee . So sarah came over to my house . We were all excited I'm like , I'm getting it ready , I'm getting it ready and , of course , after some fumbling .

Speaker 1

And of course , what , what thing do I pick wires ?

Speaker 2

this is never easy to like . Just say bluetooth connect to tv . No , you gotta find this , and many anyways . I'm not spare the details of like connection . Yeah , I'm sure some people are like it's so easy and I'm like well , good for you I'm glad it's easy for you , but not for me .

Speaker 1

Well , because we didn't want to just watch it on the computer screen , we wanted to hook it up . Yeah , we wanted an experience .

Speaker 2

I have a nice big old TV , a flat screen that we can really see what's going on . Let me tell you , Yam .

Speaker 1

Yam was popping up , oh my .

Speaker 2

God yeah , this will be my first Heisei Jamp like concert Me too and it felt to me very intimate I don't know I always say that , but this one is even more intimate because the guys are wearing tuxedos yes , and like different forms so dapper I know they were somewhere very like for kind of formalish on some a bit casual like Mr Yam Yam .

Speaker 1

But it was still formal because it was a very nicely tailored .

Speaker 2

I love it . It's just like the boyfriend . You know , look . Well , that's I was going to say . You know , this is like you were .

Speaker 1

This was your date for .

Speaker 2

New .

Speaker 1

Year's . Yes , they were all dressed up for you . This was your date to go out and celebrate and have a good time , right . And they pulled it off . Oh my God , did they ? I ?

Speaker 2

was like what ? When I saw them coming out in the tux you know tux I was like , oh yay , no fur , no pull , no feathers From the get go , none of that . It's just like we're in texas , ladies , we're here for you , oh my god . Well , ladies , guys , whatever , we're here for you . I'm sure there were men in there somewhere , but all I saw were ladies . Exactly that's what I'm saying ladies , I'm not , I'm not , I'm not guys . I know you were somewhere in there too , but come on , uh , oh , oh my god . And of course , yamara , that cameraman . He , you know , I'm sure there was a camera person dedicated for yamara , because they knew because at certain points that you know songs that it was his cue to just say the sultriness or the sultry line put on his smolder .

Speaker 1

He just zooms into that camera and just says his line and everybody's like come on well , even just the the opening , when they were putting the spotlight on everybody and focusing just on them , he was immediately I was like , oh , pink hair . Yeah , I was like look at him . So I mean he could have neon green hair and still look amazing it was like a dusty , dusty rose .

Speaker 2

Yeah yeah very just delicate , like he . I mean , he's not delicate , but he's just like . You know , for us he's like a flower boy , he's just so like . Oh , my goodness , you're so precious , you know , he's so gorgeous , he is just so gorgeous , he is but every everybody else looked .

Speaker 1

You know it was . It was their introduction . Here's your date for the night , yeah . So here's shinen , here you go . She's so cute . Come on Well in Nakajima . I was like he looks like James Bond Nakajima .

Speaker 2

Yes , he's the tallest . He's the tallest of the group and of course it just oh , his poise was awesome . Now one that family actually pointed out Yuya , like the dark horse I'm like where have you been ? He was yeah he was really eye-catching . I was like oh my God , how come we never ? And family's . Like I told you , he's my favorite .

Speaker 2

Because yeah of course we're seeing it . Family was watching too , so family was pointing out some other points too , like Yuya came out and came out was like oh , there's yuya and sarah said something . It's like I'm not lying . Then you went oh , now I see you . Like , you like open your eyes , so you're yet to . Yeah , oh , yeah , definitely you're saying that , now I see it . But it's true , because we never encounter a Heisei Jump show . And just seeing that for each individual member , right when you see their character , how they interact with the fans , you know you get the cutesy , you get the stoic , you have the like oh , my goodness , goodness , I'm just gonna faint because they're so gorgeous and the funny and you know the the goofy and the playful , yeah , they've got such varied personalities and this was really , like you were saying , my first time seeing all of them performing and doing something .

Speaker 1

You know , I've seen clips of little videos they've done , snippets of whatever excursion they've gone on . Mostly , though , we've only ever really encountered yamada yeah , because of other projects he's done . So this was like so exciting to to really see them for the first time . You know , I felt like this was really my first time seeing Heisei Jump . Yeah , me too . You know , we've we loved a video from a few years ago that had come out . We were like , wow , look at how powerful this is . Yeah , but again , we don't have as much access to a lot of this stuff , right , that easily I should I should say , easily have access to it . So what we're seeing is just snippets and stuff on YouTube , and it's so different , right , yeah , so this live was just electric and exciting and I feel like I'm at a party with them , these guys , you know , whoever's focused on at the moment is my date for the night and we're just having a good time , exactly , and he's , or they are trying to make me feel comfortable and be part of the excitement .

Speaker 1

And it was it was so awesome because we were expecting costume changes at some point . We were like , oh , they're probably going to go put on whatever it didn't happen in this . No , they were your date the whole night .

Speaker 2

Yeah they were singing to you , they were catering to you , they were paying attention to you , right , you know ?

Speaker 1

flirting . Yes , and so there were . I should amend that right . There were a couple of times where they added something , but that made it more like you were at a masquerade party and they were sort of being playful . They added something , but that made it more like you were at a masquerade party and they were sort of being playful they were just being the playful .

Speaker 2

Okay , now it's time to like do funnies , you know but , um , from the first six songs , yeah , they played , which is they were all hey say jump , we knew a couple , I just knew a couple and you , you knew some .

Speaker 1

So I was like right From the one album I have from 10 years ago .

Speaker 2

So they started right with me but we're like , oh , this is nice , this is cool . And then you know , and just not much of it . They didn't do much dancing . They did some , but nothing like crazy , you know .

Speaker 1

Well , this was them bringing you into the venue , into the party . Let's just go get our groove on it and of course with that was white love of course they were like okay , yay , like so nice and sweet and whatnot .

Speaker 2

From from that they , uh , of course the chit chat , which of course we don't the mcs , yeah , get to understand much , you know . But apparently , um , according to family , because they understand a bit of more english , I mean more japanese , they were translating for us some parts . So apparently they were playing rock paper scissors to see who will get the the colors of the members on their hair , and who was it that not lost , but I guess I want to say win , because I was like , oh , look at his hair , it was Daiki .

Speaker 1

He had all the members colors , like little colors yeah , arioka , you know I'm probably using the wrong name , I'm being too personal about it . But yeah , he lost , I guess , and had to get all the member colors , because at first I just saw the red and yellow and I was like , oh look , he's got a little fancy . Like everybody must have done some fancy hair Because Inu had the glittery strands yeah , which apparently also he lost . Oh , that was part of the glittery strings according to family apparently he also lost that he has stuff in his hair .

Speaker 1

No , I guess so I was just like , oh look , that's so cute , he's got some color . But then he turned his head and you saw that it was all the members colors . Yeah , back to Daye , with all the members colors going down his hair and yeah , so your family was saying which it was cool , like he lost a bet .

Speaker 2

You will think you know I mean part of the costuming . You know they're not doing anything like . You know no changing of costumes . They're just like toxins . So that was just like .

Speaker 1

This is my flair for you for you , for the fans , for the fans , which you know what he .

Speaker 2

It's good that you lost , because you got more attention from the fans , because everybody wants to know oh , what did he do we ? So we were like , oh , what's that what ? I'm like , oh , that is so cool . Yeah , he was rocking it too he was he's like might as well own it . And he did . He did awesome , shenan is so cute .

Speaker 1

He had his little high , high water pants that was the with his white socks peeking out through it . The cash . He was a little more casual with his tuxedo , but it was . It was very cute , very cute indeed he was .

Speaker 2

But like every concert , you know you have the members . They project the members on the top with their names and everybody , of course , yeah , it goes crazy . And of course the last one that they post is Yamada , because everybody knows .

Speaker 1

Well , and he had those glasses on that he used so well . They're like bring down a little and look over the top of them at you and , oh my God , yeah , no , it's just you know that was his prop to get you .

Speaker 2

You know it's and it just of course , he just wears it very well , like everything else . He just wears everything very well , anyways so after they did the little you know talking . They started the songs that they were not theirs right , and the first one was by arashi , oh my god , we were like what well the music started and I was like , wait a minute this is sarah was like this sounds too familiar . This is not . Hey , sit jump . It was like oh my god , it's arashi it .

Speaker 1

It was so awesome . So , yeah , they were starting their medley section , to our surprise , to our surprise .

Speaker 2

So we're like maybe it's just going to be just one song of just Arashi , and then after Troublemaker they did another song that we also love , oh my God , when that came up , I'm like no way

Surprise Song Selections and Explosive Performances

Speaker 2

. V6 ?

Speaker 1

What , yeah , honey , beat love oh my god , when that came up , I'm like no way . V6 , what , yeah , honey beat ? Oh my god I'm like what ?

Speaker 2

this is so insane . I'm like , oh my god , they're doing so well and I'm like , are they doing a bunch ? This is so awesome ? You know like , oh my god , I feel it was so sweet , it was awesome and , of course , just delivery make it great . You know , you cannot , you know the senpais you need , you cannot let them down . Then it was kinky kids , which is a song that was familiar to me , but not much well , and that's the .

Speaker 1

The cool thing , too , is , even if you don't know it , now you're being introduced to all these things that you're like oh hey , even if I couldn't remember the name and know for sure I like the song , you know that it was catchy and I enjoyed it , so it's .

Speaker 2

I love that they do this , you know , to sort of introduce some songs that they're not theirs , that they came out many years ago , even before they debuted it well you know , and these are probably songs when they were little that they danced .

Speaker 2

You know did backups for that's true but even though we heard those three senpais , what song came out next ? It was Jem . Oh , that's right . Yes , because we were . I was like what , kenty ? I was like Kenty , but wait a minute , jem , this is Jem . This is not just Kento Nakajima's solo song , but I was like what ? No , I got to say his name Because I'm like , wait a minute , the other guy is not a star totalent . So I was surprised to hear that .

Speaker 1

Yeah , well , that made us wonder . You know , how did they decide on what they were going to sing , right , like what songs ? Did they pick them personally Because these were some of their favorites , or was it just a here's some songs to throw in ? I don't know , but yeah , that was that was wild .

Speaker 2

Yeah , that was . It was like a monkey wrench , like I like to call it Right and these were sort of also .

Speaker 1

They were doing some of them as the whole group and some of them as like little pairings and offshoots .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

So you know , I guess to give people a break , because that's what the MC is all about After all , that dancing and singing they need a few minutes to sort of cool down .

Speaker 2

I like to call it the intermission , you know . But oh yeah , the other guy's name with Jem is Tatsuya Kitani , so give him a shout out . Yes , because that I know of he is not part of Starto . So yeah , we were like jump up , like what ?

Speaker 1

well , because I was thinking , because they they did a couple of the older generation of groups right I was like expecting someone else . So when it came on , yeah , I was just , I was I don't know , I was expecting like Tokyo or Gatun it was a surprise , it was , it was .

Speaker 2

It took me by surprise . You know . I was like , wow , it is Kenty . Then we got to hear another Senpai , which was Tokyo . We were like , oh yay , I had no idea . I had no knowledge of Tokyo music at all . Oh really . So it was really cool to hear the song . You know , I was like like wow , this is really good you know , yeah , no , they definitely a very awesome group .

Speaker 1

Half of them are gone now , I mean gone , as in left the they're not tokyo . There's still some of the , the members active through starto , so but uh , yeah , I was like , oh my god , it was like a blast from the past for me , a lot of these , because I did list .

Speaker 2

I have a lot of tokyo see , I know nothing except for like . Later on , when I seen you know the kohai is going , I'm like , oh my god , senpai , blah , blah from tokyo . It has a nick , you know , and an ex twitter , or they Instagram ?

Speaker 2

They start promoting their senpais . They have open social media accounts . I'm like who are these men ? Because I'm looking at them , these are men and they're like senpai , senpai . And I'm like , oh , I'm like Sarah , who is this ? And you're like , oh , this is from Tokyo . I'm like never heard of this group .

Speaker 1

Okay , now .

Speaker 2

I know why . You know the guys are like oh , simprix , I know , nino , nino , oh my goodness . There was one of them who had a like a roof farm or rooftop garden and I believe Nino went to visit him and Nino was just , I don't know , he was a little bit weird because he also has salamanders , because he had to like in the pond because it's some eco .

Speaker 2

He was doing some cool eco like uh garden . You know the salamanders did something and whatever , and he picked it up like nothing and he's like here , nino , and nino's like no .

Speaker 1

Oh , I know who you're talking about coco bun yes coco bun taiichi . I was thinking like bun and I'm like gotta be something with bun I'm like I know it , wait , wait , wait , he is so cool .

Speaker 2

I love him , so that was cool . Hearing you know a song that I never heard of and , um , there were other songs in there too that we never wrecked , that we did not recognize , but they were like from dramas . I think I was like I remember saying to you this sounds very drama like yes , well , because it .

Speaker 1

It was because , remember family , I was like something my bad japanese and whatnot I was looking at I was like it's something amigo , and uh , they were like , oh yeah , a drama that had been um tomahisa , yamashita , and uh , they had done a drama together and their characters , I guess , sang this song . So that was one that was yamada , and uh nakajima did that one right , that was the first costume .

Speaker 2

Yeah , that was when some of the costume change that we said , oh , maybe the costume change is gonna start right now and they were very dashing with like uh love it .

Speaker 1

Yamada had , like the bolero jacket length but with a train on it . Yes , well , in their colors blue and red . And then the other one was more of just a long jacket with a shimmery skirt off of it , right . But oh they were . They were on fire , they were steamy . They were steamy together like singing this song they were sort of like that was when I was like james bond .

Speaker 2

Yes , he , yeah , yeah , yeah yeah , I should know more about him because I was like , I like that guy he was giving yam yam a run for his money as far as the oh yeah smolder , oh , yeah , looking dapper and dashing . He was like I need to do something , because you know yam , yam and you know everybody's like , yeah , it's like , let me do my look . It's like , oh , you got me boy .

Speaker 2

Yes , yes , yes , yeah , that duo was awesome . It was , that was . It was awesome . So this is like when I start the medleys with , like you know , this color , this call us up units , yeah , it's like you know , they start separating themselves and they're doing some costume change let's say , or just a little bit of , like you know , cosplay , role playing , kind of stuff , let's just get into a character for a minute .

Speaker 1

The masquerade part of our New Year's party .

Speaker 2

Yes , then after that it was Ubu Love , love . It was a naniwa danshi one , and that was with oh my goodness yamada , of course inu , listen to me , yamada .

Speaker 1

Of course you know kota yabu . Um , he's sort of the smiley one , the very smiley one , and um , y'all told me .

Speaker 2

So those were the , the four doing that one just having having some fun being cute yes of course , because ubu love is so cute because , naniwa danchi , they're just the adorable , so cute group .

Speaker 1

They're just , you're just gonna see . Just keep saying it so cute , they are cute , they're just adorable .

Speaker 2

Just keep saying it so cute , they are cute , they're just adorable . I have yet seen any . Well , I have seen , although . Anyways , no , not talking about Naniwa . But , this is their cute song and it was very cutesy , and the boys were cutesy . Now , after that , whoa , explosive performance , explosive performance . It was the Avarero , stone's Avarero . Oh , my goodness and Sheenan .

Speaker 1

We were excited about that , sheenan , I know , I know we're like who is that Family went ?

Speaker 2

that's Sheenan . I'm like what ? Look at that ghetto .

Speaker 1

Well , you know , you could tell too , though .

Speaker 2

It was a close-up . There wasn't anybody around him I just saw a close-up of him . He's wearing this like everybody's , wearing this leather jacket she didn't really want , with a hood and dumb glasses , like he looks like he was going like dirt bike riding or something and he was like he's just screaming out . I'm like , oh my god , look at this . And the music , of course .

Speaker 2

This song is so explosive by stones yeah they did like wow , yeah , well , that was explosive , or more . Let me tell you it was amazing and they just like giving their all well , and that was the one .

Speaker 1

um yu-yu was wearing that like sort of western inspired yes , like , oh , like , oh , yeah it was . That was crazy , though , because it was like Nakajima . He looked like a motorcycle club member . He had , like , the leather jacket you know Everybody had a different . They had sort of slightly different looks , but it all came together and it was perfect for the song . It was awesome . Arioko was in that too . He was part of the four people performing that , so that was amazing .

Speaker 2

They were just like on fire . They were on fire . That shinen just got me Because he was just like yeah , Like this fireball .

Speaker 1

He's like you know , like in your face , face well , he's trying to show us that he's not just cutesy he's like I can be mean no , I can be a baddie I'm a bad boy . Now feel my wrath ?

Speaker 2

no , it was amazing .

Speaker 1

It was well . And I wonder , you know , did they , did they decide who was doing which songs ? Did they play a game to see who you know , like the mayor did they ? Did they throw dice to see who got ? It was getting what you know , because he seemed so into it . It was like he loved it pick to do this like was was he saying I want to do this he was owning that song .

Speaker 2

He was owning it . You know , he'd probably be like you know what I'm gonna do way better than them , way better than stones . Then let me tell you he did . I mean , there were red hot fire oh yeah , the stage , the lighting was red , the fire going on .

Speaker 2

I was like , wow , yeah , that song came on . I'm like , yeah , and I'm like , I know the lyrics , I'm singing it . I'm like , yes , sing it , sing it , sing it . Oh wait , no , I loved it . And then after that , it was Snap . Remember , I was like you know , they didn't play SMAP . And then all of a sudden , oh my God , smap .

Speaker 1

Out of nowhere yeah .

Speaker 2

So that was cool , everybody was singing that one , everybody was singing that one , and that was Shake .

New Year's Jump Party Performances

Speaker 2

I'm not as familiar with the old SMAP music as , uh , I am with some of the other groups , so because they were , they were a little before my time , right of getting into the whole you know , starto groups right , of course , after that , you know they were taking the mc break , you know they were talking and you know probably talking about , you know their costumes and whatever , and probably I think they were making fun of sheenan yeah , yeah , they're like what's with that dude ? He did great , everybody was awesome and , of course , yamara giving you a look and talking really nice . Oh my god , when he talks , I just watch him talk .

Speaker 1

Well , you know what and it's funny we forgot to even talk about how the stage was set up . It was like they had a carousel and it was like you were out at an amusement park . Yeah , carnival , which New Year's celebration masquerades Carnival , it's all sort of mixed in . Usually you don't think of an actual rides carnival , but still it was just . It was so impressive . It was massive . Yes , it was a massive set up stage .

Speaker 1

So when that first came up , I was sort of expecting crazy costumes and wild stuff going on . So , bringing us back to our point of they stayed in those tuxedos , other than adding right the little embellishments here and there for the unit songs during their medley , they went right back to just having their tuxedos . Yeah , and so it just . I don't know , it was just such a beautiful all together . You know , experience you were . It wasn't what I was expecting , right , so it made it that much more exciting and vibrant . It was just , it was cool . So it was fun seeing all this stuff in the background but them still focusing on you and bringing this experience to you .

Speaker 1

It was awesome so yes but I thought we should mention that it wasn't just them hanging out in the middle of this gigantic dome . There was a little bit of backdrop for you to get the festive feel and the excitement of New Year's , you know this celebration .

Speaker 2

The start , though , you know entertainment . They got to have the big staging , they got to have something to go with it . Like you said , I also was thinking , maybe circus-like ?

Speaker 1

Yes , because there was so much going on too .

Speaker 2

You know , and in some of the um , talent movers , remember we're calling it people movers , the talent movers , yeah you know they , they was , it were clowns , they were you know clown going around , they were on top of clowns and the clown you know they're playing around . That was . That was cutesy you know , and uh , yeah , the carousel . I was like , oh , jump party , yeah , jump into like everything , everything , a little bit of everything , yeah it was crazy yeah I , just when sheenan was standing in front of the .

Speaker 1

Uh , you must be this high oh my goodness .

Speaker 2

Yes , we were like . What is that on purpose ?

Speaker 1

that cameraman was like oh , I see an opportunity . It was very cute , was that on ?

Speaker 2

purpose to put him there , just because he's still playing on his eye . Come on , he's so cute .

Speaker 1

He is .

Speaker 2

No , you're still too tiny . Is that what you said ? I'm like ? No , I think he's tall enough . How old is he ? Is he almost in his 30s ?

Speaker 1

Yeah , well , I think he's the same age as Yamada , maybe Same age as Yam Yam , I think . So he is shinnen 31 .

Speaker 2

He just turned 31 on november 30th . He's five three so adorable . He is like I said , he's so adorable . He's pocket size . No , no , he's so cute . He's like I man . I'm like .

Speaker 1

I know you are a man , so yeah , but that makes him the same age as Yamada , then yes , I do love him . I mean , like I said before , they've all got their little charms and their little . You know , you got the dramatically beautiful , and then you got the sort of goofy cutesy .

Speaker 2

You got the Well , well , this is the thing he might be 30 , but because of that and he keeps himself so well , I don't know what skin regimen he does , but he just does not look 31 . He still looked like he's in his early 20s and yeah , which is great , because he's also an actor and I know , uh , I was gonna say he can still make do like the college , you know , student even though he's 30 .

Speaker 1

They like to call it in theater the juvenile . There you go there you go he'll be playing the juvenile till he's 50 . He looks that good , he does .

Speaker 2

Right , because I'm like I'm looking at all of them . I'm like how these kids these are not kids , no , they're not . They're only like in their 30s and they still look so young .

Speaker 2

He and Yamada , I think , are the youngest oh my goodness , yeah , none of them look like their age . Oh , unless they're doing the same . You know , skin regimen as Yamada , and they're like he cannot be the only young one here . We got to look good , yamada . What are you doing ? Give us some of that skin treatment . We gotta , we gotta look good . We can't age , we gotta look the same , you know . So that was cool , and you know , after that the mc , you know they did more music more of their stuff .

Speaker 2

They're more yep , they did uh ump . That was cool . Then , dream come true , let's see john party again . I think they were uh doing some metlays there , um yeah , and then , after that , more of the you know , more of the senpais , more of their music . I know they play oh my god , they play another one in a drama which I don't remember , that one , but they played sexy zone run they sang sexy zone run , the one they did before that , that was , was a tacky and subasa .

Speaker 2

Oh , song oh old , that's why I'm like I don't know that one .

Speaker 1

Wow , yeah , it was tacky , and subasa .

Speaker 2

Wow , I'm sure you memories you're like oh , my god , I'm thinking you know , start to my just own the rights for all these songs ? Oh yeah , absolutely .

Speaker 1

You know , and if you're part of the start , your talent , you know you'll sing it well , because you know there's sort of you think about like , uh , there's just always old standby tunes that everybody does , you know so , and especially within their own company . Yeah , they own the rights so they can redo all of these songs and everybody does . I think everybody does sort of a medley during their . You see it just sort of to pay homage to , as you said , the senpais and your peers too . You know it's a celebration , let's just bring in everything we can , you know . But anyway , sorry , I didn't mean to interrupt you with the yes , sexy zone .

Speaker 2

No , that's good , because you knew about the song and I wanted you to talk about it . But then after that it was sexy zones run and I jump up and I was like yes , but then after that it was news no no , oh right . How did I miss that ? Oh girl , you bad .

Speaker 1

You forgot your group . Oh yeah , there it is . I know I , you know I was , I was like I'm like no , I'm looking yes , but no , before that yes , it was well . I just remember that they did do . They did what two rsh two ? Kinky kids to tokyo did they do two of anybody else ? I don't think so . Yeah , no , sorry , I I knew they did two rsg . I just missed it in my notes . Damn I was skipping . Damn I need new glasses rsg four years hiatus . Come on , okay let's not talk about that .

Speaker 1

Anyway , they did an rsg song that sarah completely forgot they did no well , no , like I said , I remembered that they did two of rshs , but I skipped it in my notes . I was getting ahead of myself . I see that well because you're like and you're like news . Well , no , I thought you were just pointing at me to to say what came next and I , in my rush to see what was next , I okay I missed it .

Speaker 2

Enough of making fun of you , that's all right everybody knows how I feel about them .

Speaker 1

Okay , so anyway . But because we were talking about you know , were they going to do all the other groups that ?

Speaker 2

yeah , they are familiar with , so that's why I was like they did do news yes , that was cool , and then it was tokyo again , again , yeah , ambitious japan . Ambitious japan , right , um , then it was kiss my , kiss my Foot with she , her , her . We have the ABC , she , I have the . She , I always like to do that With that ABC Five Stars Then .

Speaker 2

Travis , japan with Just Dance , just Dance , and they had so much fun with that Right and then with the tuxedos , because also Travis Japan did it with tuxedos . I was like , oh my God , that's so cool . That was like even a bigger homage .

Speaker 1

Yeah , definitely .

Speaker 2

Because that was cool . I'm like , yeah , we're like , yeah , oh yeah , that was cool . They did great , of course , because they're Heisei Jump . Then it was Katoon Keep the Faith . That was cool . It was an oldie one , because I don't remember that one much . Then it was oh my god , when that when this song started .

Speaker 1

We're like they are doing it , king and prince cinderella girl I'm like , oh , my god , they were so sweet and it's so funny because everybody does that one right , like if they're gonna do a king and prince . Everybody picks cinderella girl oh , but I love that song .

Speaker 2

I do actually it was so sweet , I got goosebumps . I'm like wow .

Speaker 1

Well they looked .

Speaker 2

They looked sort of dreamy while they were singing it right , they were so poised , they were like prince , prince and king . I was just like I don't know . They were so cute and uh , yeah , they did , oh , they performed that . So lovely they did yes , so lovely it , uh loved it . Then it was an explosive song by a group whoa a beginning which is like their debut song wow wow , wow , wow , wow .

Speaker 1

I was like yeah , boys , that you kicked , you did great .

Speaker 2

And then another senpai song , super great , but but there was an west , then another one by kinky kids , and then let's see , oh , snowman , snowman , it wasn't the it wasn't like , uh , the debut from snowman no it was a different one .

Speaker 2

It was like a b-side that uh , it's not oh my god , which oh , oh , oh brothers beat , which it was a snowman , that they did like a movie and whatever , and that was for that movie . That was cool , but it was cheerful , just like . That was like school . And then we're finishing it with their songs . We had dream my lover , oh . And if we finish it with what the countdown .

Speaker 1

What was it the countdown ? Oh no , no , the countdown happened before the end so that we could celebrate and then and then they did more music , wasn't it like ? Because they didn't they do their little mc leading up to the count , countdown , I think it was . They were sort of . They finished up a song , they started talking a little bit because we had the little counter . They had a minute that minute countdown till the new year and then that's when they started up with the whole second set of medley music .

Speaker 1

Yeah , yeah , so I think wasn't Dear my Lover , the last song they did yes . And then they did their little ending stuff .

Speaker 2

You know , Mm-hmm Thank you for being with us . Yeah , their summary . Oh my God .

Speaker 1

We love you . Love you to hear , yeah , just again , thank you for your support . And oh my

High-Energy New Year's Jump Party Review

Speaker 1

god . But it was just such a amazing thing to watch because every time we thought there was going to be some sort of switch up , it just they just smoothly moved into something else without having to to costume change , without having to run off and do anything , so they were with you the whole time . Yeah , and that was again like your date . You know , your escort was not leaving your side for this party . They were gonna be there the whole time .

Speaker 2

Just paying attention to you . 100 and it was .

Speaker 1

It was good , it was so good and they just they looked like they were having a lot of fun . They were just joking with each other , having a good time interacting with the audience , so we really felt like drawn into this .

Speaker 2

We were part of this exciting moment in time . You can tell it was not as stressful for them . It was not . You can tell it was not as stressful for them as per when they have to do the costume change they have to rush out there , make sure they have to towel them down .

Speaker 1

Make sure you know they look refreshed for the next segment of the music you know , because I mean , they were definitely dancing . They were definitely you could see them working hard , oh yeah , but they were . I think that they also sort of toned it down a little so that they could be more relaxed about it and stay in the moment with everybody without having to rush off , and you know the little subunit stuff .

Speaker 1

I think was their time to go drink some water and maybe dab a little bit of sweat off their brow , but it was really . It was high energy , but without being so frantic and all over the place . They were very focused and very smooth .

Speaker 2

There were no crazy acrobatics , nobody was flying around .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it was just , you know Well , because you wouldn't be doing that at your new . Well , maybe some New Year's parties .

Speaker 2

I've been to some pretty great ones .

Speaker 1

But this was just all about being with you and being in the moment and enjoying it and bringing in the New Year together . Bringing in the New Year together , yep , and it was beautiful . So , other than our , you know New Year's kiss that we couldn't get from Air kiss yeah .

Speaker 2

Air kiss . Yeah , air kiss . They all did . It was an air kiss . Okay , are you ready to get one ? You know , just pretend that the kiss was for you ?

Speaker 1

Well , because you know each of them had what ? 6,000 dates Plus the ones online . Do you know ? Yeah , exactly .

Speaker 2

So you know , whoever was in the camera , you got a kiss , you know . But yeah , definitely different , of course , because it was not . It was our first one , it was a different one , it wasn't extravagant , it was intimate , yeah because they have their , you know their moments of , but that's it . But it was great . And yeah , because they have their you know their moments of , but that's it , but it was great , it was relaxing it wasn't your typical kind of concert experience , because it wasn't just about like they didn't have it , just about them .

Speaker 1

They were making this a celebration of everything and everyone , and and not just for this year , but for previous years , you know they were really . I think that that's what these medleys were all about . It's just like bringing up all the memories you've had leading up to we're moving into a new year . Let's keep the old memories but let's start making new ones . I mean , oh josh , oh , it was just beautiful . No , it was great , it was electrifying , it really was .

Speaker 2

It was great . And and the surprises of each song that you didn't know what's going to come up . I just felt that every time there was a song I knew , I was just like , oh my god , I know this one , oh yeah , I know this one and I will sing with them . And , you know , did the art movements ?

Speaker 1

yeah , and the yeah , and the little dance , because the arshy one was that , like you know yes , so we're doing that yeah , we were crazy in your living room like , yeah , we were having fun .

Speaker 2

I am the fan that I will really jump up and like enjoy it . My song is there , I'm there .

Speaker 1

I give my heart my 110 every time my favorite song comes up well , the whole audience was , though , because they were see , now , everybody , do you remember the yara she's on whoa ? Yeah , like even the audience , you could tell they were excited about all these songs too . Yep , because even though you know hey say jump may be their favorite , you do know all a lot of these other groups and you do know the songs and you do recognize in it , and so everybody was just there in the moment together and it was amazing . It was amazing . So I would really really like to see just a concert from these guys . When they're just doing their stuff , it's just them . You know what I mean . I think that would .

Speaker 1

I'd like to see sort of the the difference in how they present themselves right with their own , just their own music and their own concept , right versus this , this party for the people . You know what I mean . Right , it would of wild .

Speaker 2

Yeah , because don't they also have solo songs ? Yes , Because I remember seeing one for Yamada that I'm like whoa .

Speaker 1

Well , he just came out with Switch . Have you seen the video ?

Speaker 2

Mm-hmm , omg .

Speaker 1

Yeah , it just came out before the new year , for Christmas it came out before the new year for christmas it came . Yes , he's like , let me grace , I give a gift to my friends of this solo song called the first digital single switch it's sultry dance tune . Oh , my like it's got . It's got . Oomph to it , yeah I don't .

Speaker 2

So I was like merry christmas to us absolutely came on december 25th 24th . 24th um , no , I have here 25th . Oh really , premier apple for the us , I guess . Yeah , we have the time difference .

Speaker 1

I'm looking at youtube , or maybe , maybe no .

Speaker 2

It probably came out the 25th in Japan , but it was the 24th still here let's see Ryusuke Yamada Switch release , yes , on the 24th , but premiere on the 25th . We'll go to YouTube . I'm reading YouTube YouTube says premiere on December 25th 2024 . But then down here it says maybe , I guess for Japan , release on the 12th 2024 . But then down here it says maybe I guess for Japan release under 12-24 .

Speaker 1

YouTube . By the way , it came out for Christmas . How's that it's on YouTube ? It was his present to us .

Speaker 2

Go check it out , it's under the Storm Label channel Storm Label's official channel YouTube with Ryosuke yamada switch and omg . Wow , wow , wow , wow yeah , no .

Speaker 2

When I first started hearing it I was like oh , I like it , oh yeah , oh yeah , and it has some yeah , okay , I took . There was a part here in Japanese that I Google translated and it says a dance tune full of Yamada Ryusuke's strong determination as he continues to challenge himself to become a new me . A must , a must listen . Song with an addictive melody , with exotic phrases that will become addictive and a delicate vocal work that has evolved . Ah , that's mr yam yam . Yes , this is yamara-san right here , because , omg , yes , please check it out . And , of course , if you are able and if you have the archive for their , you know , jump party , check , look at , watch it as many times as you can . Yeah , exactly , until it just goes bye-bye .

Speaker 1

Check it out , yeah .

Speaker 2

You know , because everybody is so awesome and great and just amazing , we have fun , we laugh , we . I cried at some of the songs . I got a little teary because I was like , oh my god , I love this song , you know I just got excited .

Speaker 1

I was like oh my god , they're doing this .

Speaker 2

Oh my god , there were some songs in there and I'm like , oh no , way , yes , way , yes . But I was just happy , cheers to happiness , because it was amazing and like whoever was on screen , it was my boyfriend . Oh , yeah , no for sure . Like we always talk about Mr Yam Yam , yam Yam , we love you , yamada , but , oh my goodness , shinan will come up . I'll be like , oh my God .

Speaker 1

It's okay , you , yamara , but it's . But , oh my goodness , shinen will come up .

Speaker 2

I'll be like oh my god , I love him . I'm like whoa yeah , the dark horse that I was like wow you , yeah , where have you been ? You cannot be hiding there just like yeah , explosive , you know as well with like just always smiling and just happiness being cutie cutie oh my god yes , I mean having him back , you know .

Speaker 1

So I mean , yeah , it was just did we , did we miss someone ? You eight members , kota , we miss kota . Yes , he's he . He's always smiling , he just smiles , yeah , all the time . I think we got everybody . We're sorry if we missed you , but , no , I think we got them all , but everybody . Just they had their charm and their personality and it was just so fun . We just had a good time In your living room . We had our own little party . This is what we've talked about too . These live streams , yeah , are so much fun because you , I think you do see a little more than you do when you're , you know there In the venue , because you don't have people jumping in front of you waving their arms in your face .

Speaker 1

You know you're like right and you have the benefit of the like solo fan cams , right where they're like , yeah , let's just watch Yamada right now exactly oh , let's just watch Nakajima right now . Exactly so , yeah , it was just , it was cool , it was fun and it's just exciting you get the archive . Relive it if you want to . Exactly yeah , maybe we'll go . Yes , we should , we should before it runs out on us .

Excitement for Hey Say Jump

Speaker 2

Yeah , I know that , oh , but yeah , that was , that was so cool , so amazing , and we , we brought the new year with them . You know , you know when they were , you know , happy new year , like yay , and they were counting , everybody was counting yeah , and the little explosions and the confetti , oh my god , that big explosion .

Speaker 1

Yeah , streamers and confetti . So yeah , oh , it must have been exciting to be there in person of course , for sure but I think that we had the best view .

Speaker 2

I think we did have the best , best , best view , Jeez , Especially with Yam Yam . Oh my goodness , Every time that close up you're like , oh it's done .

Speaker 1

Fire Jeez .

Speaker 2

Yam Yam , we love you he knows he probably . Please don't listen to this . He's gonna be like why are they calling me yam yam ? Why are they calling me yam yam ? Who's yam yam ? If nina listens , he's gonna be like yam be like nina will be laughing we gotta bring nino in because he's such a clown , but we love him anyways ah . So hey , that's you know , with this happening and also giving , uh , the you know fan family club , giving opportunity to international fans to look at this . Become a member .

Speaker 2

You know , it's just , it's worth it .

Speaker 1

It is Because this yeah , this isn't our first time doing this , and it's just they all put on such exceptional shows , so , yeah , you can check .

Speaker 2

You know it's difficult to go like we don't have the money to travel to japan . You know , to experience they , you know , start to show , with exception , of course , drive japan they were here , we were able to go see them . But you know , but like the big staging and the costuming and everything else , at least these streams gives you that , until you know that day that you have saved your money and can get there to go to japan and also get a ticket .

Speaker 1

At least this way you can . You can get a ticket as international fans .

Speaker 2

We're hoping because we've seen that the company's been doing so progressive changes of actually opening the doors to more international fans , to more fans besides japan to come experience a start to show you know their talent , and I'm hoping for 2025 that there will be a bit more a gap , more open for the fans in the international world Expansion .

Speaker 2

Yes , A little more push that . You know , if , if you are in Japan visiting and there is a show that you will like to see , that there is a way that you can go see them , that we're hoping for that and you know that'll be amazing , that would be amazing . Anyways , that's , those are my two cents . How about you miss sierra ?

Speaker 1

oh , I'm just I'm excited , I'm just happy we we got to check it out . The past few years there have been more opportunities for things like this and it's just I'm really glad because we enjoy hey say jump when you know they've been putting out a few things recently more accessibly so that we have heard them , we have seen them . So the opportunity to see this and the fact that there's going to be more opportunities , things opening up , it's just exciting and I was glad we got to see this . It's just it's exciting and I was glad we got to see this because , other than videos and the little snippets on YouTube and stuff I wasn't as familiar with hey Say Jump as a whole group doing things . You know what I mean . A video is not the same as watching them perform and see how they interact and work together . Exactly , it was awesome , exactly work together .

Speaker 2

So exactly it was awesome and exactly from you know some , you from some musician friends , I , you know , I that I have heard you can listen to an artist you know recording video , you can see the video and whatever , and you're like okay , awesome .

Speaker 2

But you to really appreciate the artists and to see if they really are 100% an and it's I'm quoting some other- artists , this is not my opinion that they prefer to see them live and make a judgment and be like , oh yeah , they're tight and they oh yeah , they got the show mention , oh yeah , they got this . And actually just listening from a recording or just watching a video and I get that and I , you know , I agree with that seeing them perform , being on stage doing this live , even if they , if they did maybe a mishap I didn't notice , right , you know well , sometimes that happens . If you see that and if they recover real quick , like oh , it happened , and go back to it , then you're like , oh yeah , yeah this , yeah , this kid , yeah , they have talent , but he's a jump , omg yeah well , it's just it is .

Speaker 1

It's different to see them live you know we weren't there in person , but still , seeing this performance versus just videos that we've had access to , it gives you an insight into them , like they were . Just they were having a good time , it was fun , they were interacting . You know what I mean ? I just I felt , I felt included in this . Yes , and that's what live performance is all about . So it's makes me more curious . I want to see more , I want to experience more with hey say , jump right .

Speaker 1

You know what I'm saying so yeah , that's where I'm at with it . That's what it left me with . I'm just happy that we got to see it yay , yay anyway so thank you everybody for listening to this special .

Speaker 2

Hey say jump , jump , party live new year 2025 . Yes , you know , if you like , if you are a start to fan or started to become a start to fan . I think this is like the year to become a start to follower , because in my heart I feel like , or got feeling , that there's gonna be more coming out yeah , for international fans and omg .

Speaker 2

So even even if you have , if you've seen like , oh , I've missed this all the groups no , you're good , you are good , this is your beginning . This is a new year . This is gonna be amazing . This is , this is gonna be a great start . Yeah , definitely . So you know , if you would like to follow them , go check out their family club .

Speaker 1

It will be worth it . Oh , yeah , definitely . All right , okay ,
