Step into a musical adventure celebrating the innovative sounds of female K-pop and J-pop artists who are breaking boundaries and defying expectations. Sarah and Panic take you on a journey through unexpected genre combinations and production techniques that showcase why these groups deserve your undivided attention.

Our exploration begins with MADEIN's "SATURN," where sweet harmonies float over grinding bass in a fascinating juxtaposition that left us wondering, "How can they blend acoustic guitars, futuristic synths, and R&B influences so seamlessly?" This genre-defying approach sets the tone for our entire listening session.

We then discover f5ve (formerly SG5) and their sparkly synth-pop "Magic Clock," before diving into UNIS's "Curious" – a track that boldly fuses heavy rock guitar with pop vocals and dance beats. But the true revelation comes with LE SSERAFIM's latest EP "Hot," where we explore three distinctly different tracks that showcase incredible versatility: from 70s funk basslines with 50s-style vocal production in "Hot," to the psychedelic rock and Motown influences of "Come Over," culminating in the hypnotic, trance-inducing "Ash" that completely captivated us.

What makes these selections so compelling is how these artists reinterpret nostalgic sounds while creating something thoroughly modern. The B-sides particularly impressed us, often containing the most artistic experimentation and vocal showcases. If you really want to do justice to your artist, you need to introduce this type of music.

Whether you're already a fan of these groups or completely new to them, this episode will transform how you think about girl group music. Give these boundary-pushing artists a chance – their unexpected sound combinations might just create your next musical obsession.

Introduction to Women's Month Special

Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir with me, sarah, and.

Speaker 2

Miss Panic yeah.

Speaker 1

So today we're gonna do some music.

Speaker 2

It is Women's Month, so these are gonna be all female artists.

Speaker 1

Sarah's like Well, you weren't coming through because you're too far, you're not, you're not using your yakuza my yakuza stance.

Speaker 2

This is this. You know I can't really do this for too long. My, my posture is more like office chair. Yeah you know, I don't have the yakuza stand yeah, we had to.

Speaker 1

We've had to readjust our um recording setup, so we're both, yeah, in a very uh uncomfortable positions for long-term talking, but we're going to power through it. We are, we're going to do this, we are doing this, but panic wasn't leaning over far enough.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I was not.

Speaker 1

I can't see you.

Speaker 2

You can't see me or you hear me.

Speaker 1

Well, I can hear you, but I can't see you recording?

Speaker 2

Okay, I got it Okay.

Speaker 1

Remember, I have a visual on our voices.

Speaker 2

Ah, yes, Jeez, but yes, it's Women's Month, so we are going to be talking about female artists today. Actually, last year, we dedicated the whole month to female artists today. Actually, last year we dedicated the whole month to female artists. We did we also interviewed a few, a band, and well, not the whole group, but one of the members of a group, and that was pretty cool. Yes, it was, and yeah, this year we were a little too occupied so to aim for, you know, to get somebody to have an interview with Someone to talk to us, yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I'm revamping a lot of things that are going on, ok Asia, so they're taking my time plus my new task at my job. They're taking my time plus my new task at my job. You know, um, I've been getting more tasks so I had don't have that much of a free time and my hours have changed, so, of course, working more yeah, working more exactly.

Speaker 1

See, I've sort of I've got more work, but they're not letting me work more. Get what I'm saying? What? So I don't have more hours, I just have more stuff to get done. Well, because we're in a rush to get that data fixed, yeah, and everybody who has not been doing their job for the past however many years, oh no, is suddenly unloading all their stuff onto me. I'm like, yeah, this should have been taken care of three years ago, four years ago, five years ago, when we used to be a fully staffed organization oh, no, yeah.

Speaker 1

So I'm like damn, and it's just me.

Speaker 2

Again, you know there was no human resource in. You know Enough of that. But anyways yeah, let's go with music. Enough of our woes, we know very much that I'm surprised that company's still around Half of the company went under. I don't know how the other side of the company's still making it private funding anyways. So um so, yes, like I was saying, we're gonna talk about some, uh, girl groups, mainly girl groups. Yes, we don't have a soloist on this one.

Speaker 2

No, okay okay, they're all girl groups, so of course, japan and from korea. Uh, we're gonna start right now with a new girl group that actually well introduced to me. They're new to us but they're fairly new. The name of the group is maiden, so that song will be Saturn, which will be the first song on Made In Forever, which I don't know if I should call it an EP.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I don't know, it's like two songs and then remix and whatnot.

Speaker 2

So the girl group is fairly new, right.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they debuted in September of 2024. They debuted in September of 2024. Just so, everybody knows six-member girl group from Korea, but they're actually like half Korean and half Japanese members. I think they were one of those reality show. You know you know audition thing.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, you know singing, dancing, we get picked or you get picked picked or the audience will pick you we're just, we're gonna find talent from wherever we can. Yep, put you together yeah, all right, we're gonna talk about this song, saturn it's got a nice little acoustic opening the guitars reminds me of like the smiths. Now we got lovely voice, whoo, all right. I don't know where that fat bass came from, but it was gonna be acoustic and it's like, uh, it's like a grinding like gear.

Speaker 1

that's, yeah, it's a very strong sound, it's like got a futuristic. It's weird.

Speaker 2

It starts with this like and now it's back to the guitar. Yeah, the acoustic guitar You're like, oh, it's going to be a sweet song, and then the bass what I was picking up.

Speaker 1

They've got a good mix of voices, yeah.

Speaker 2

Got an alto there but some soprano right, somebody doing the high notes worst part in your life.

Speaker 1

Yeah, and then and then, let me be your saturn that is crazy this is a very unique song yeah, it's interesting blend of sounds. Yeah, along with their vocals. Wow, that is such a weird bass sound to go with those sweet vocals.

Speaker 2

Yeah, happening at the same time and now the composition changes to this like lo-fi tempo, and now r&b keyboard piano going on yeah. Who's producing this? This is crazy oh.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's the synth. There was ethereal too, wow.

Speaker 2

And then it ends like that with this poo poo, poo, poo, poo, poo poo, what that's so strange Wow, but I liked it. It's definitely unique.

Speaker 1

Eclectic sounds going on.

Speaker 2

It's like from everywhere A mixture of genres in one song, which we've been experiencing. This since last year. A lot of groups have been mixing genres in one song. It's insane. Yeah, so this one was insane because it starts with acoustic guitar, then this like big, just bound bass and it gets kind of futuristic like you said, and then for some reason gets a little r&b and then gets a little bit of like a little temp lo-fi sound and that's like what yeah, are you doing?

Speaker 1

and they switch from the acoustic guitar to the like synth, very like space sounding like saturn you know very, that was so one thing, such a strange experience to hear.

Speaker 2

As a vocalist, this is crazy because you have to go with that composition and the girls were doing it like when the bass was wound.

Speaker 1

They were like, yeah, wow that's, that's what I was saying. Like they're, they're sweet harmonizing over this exactly like wow the diet. You know they were like sighing over that buzzsaw sound. It was where it was, but I liked it. It's a sit, sit down and just sort of experience it. This is something exactly dissect, analyze and like really get into? Because, yeah, it's not. It's not like a dance tune, it's not like just an r&b or it's.

Speaker 1

It's just this experience, yes, yes, that leaves you sort of wondering, and it's in english and korean. So, right, there were some words that we were picking up and it was very yeah the worst part of your life. The worst part of your life, I'll be your saturn, or I am your saturn, but I was like I don't know what this is about.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, but it was. It was very interesting, though I liked it. It is wow, it's very unique. It's one of the like uh, experimental music I don't, yeah, that's, that's crazy see how many sounds we can put together right how we can use our voices and incorporate them into the music right that was, that was really something yeah definitely I liked it, so check it out. Yeah, it's only two songs and then like remix instrumentals and stuff. But right, and they're both. It's we. We did give a little sneak peek.

Speaker 2

Listen to the the other song can tell you they're very different from each other yeah, well, you can tell you know, like the who likes the poppy and who likes the more obscure sound, you know. And yes, it doesn't have much listens, at least on Spotify. There's not many streaming, as the other one Love Afraid, but but people are listening, which is awesome.

Speaker 2

Meaning like wow, this is like good. There's people who are appreciating it, you know, definitely so well, I'm away from the microphone and talking and while Sarah looks at me like you need to get close to your mic, we're going to then talk about the girl group five. That's spelled F, number five, v-e. They have a new song called magic clock. It's been I think it's been a while since I have seen anything. Of course, when it comes to girl groups, they're not, as they don't drop as much as the male groups, as we always say yeah, they seem to get under promoted, oh my goodness, you know.

Speaker 2

And then you, you know, we follow girl groups and then, when we don't hear from them for a while, we're like you know, something's going on. You know something's going on, you know, well, are they gonna be, you know, saying oh, two members are leaving, or like nobody's gonna come back well, one of the groups we really liked.

Speaker 1

It was like I think there were five or six members and like everybody but one, we were like, yes, so it's not really the group secret number that we're like, what is?

Speaker 2

like one member's thing.

Speaker 1

Yeah, how can you say it's still secret number? Then, if it's like the majority of the group is new, yes to me that that should be like a new group with former member of secret number. Oh my goodness.

5E (Formerly SG-5): Magic Clock Analysis

Speaker 2

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was them it was secret number that we were like they were so awesome they were I mean vocally, they were awesome and also come you know whoever was doing the music. Yeah, was also as well. I mean, they knew how to work their vocals. And then all of a sudden it's like oh, and I'm like yeah, because you never gave them work yeah, I don't know, I don't yeah, okay, all right you can keep griping about that all the time anyways, so all right.

Speaker 2

So let's check out five with the song magic luck.

Speaker 1

Some spacey synthesizer with the pitter-pattering behind it. Synth pop, yeah, oh, I like the keyboard there.

Speaker 2

Yep.

Speaker 1

Sort of a almost video game-ish sound. Yeah.

Speaker 2

I hear like an kind of like an 8-bit but not really I like that.

Speaker 1

Their voices aren't well right. Okay, they switch to a little higher, but they're not like sort of the sing-songy, right, they're a little deeper sounding. That's like an alarm Talking about a magic clock, and that's like when you program your clock to have different sounds.

Speaker 2

Kira-kira, everything different sounds. Kira kira, everything's bright.

Speaker 1

Good use of bass, a laser say cuckoo Like a cuckoo clock yeah yeah, like cuckoo. I was going to ask you are you hearing cuckoo yeah. So yeah, it's like the magic hour.

Speaker 2

Cuckoo, like letting you know, cuckoo, it's the magic hour, and then you get the little, like a little Casio tone. Yeah, yeah, so cute. This song is cute, oh little floating around in space.

Speaker 1

sound at the end there, the magic clock.

Speaker 2

So, is it the magic clock? Is it, like you know, the magic time with you and me? Or like just in general, you know.

Speaker 1

I don't know, because they say magic hour a couple of times first, and then they say my magic clock.

Speaker 2

So I don't know like the magic hour to be with you and you know it's something, the time together, because the word kira kira, yeah, it's, it's like sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. So, yeah, magical time. Magical time, is it right? Is it a magical time with you? So everything's sparkly and shiny, yeah, or is it just themselves of like, oh, it's magic hour for me.

Speaker 1

I feel, yeah, I feel sparkly.

Speaker 2

It's bubbly, it's sparkly, definitely with all the sounds.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's another one with a strange mixture of sounds that somehow work.

Speaker 2

Right.

Speaker 1

Again, not necessarily a dance tune, but it's definitely pop. It's definitely poppy, right? Yeah, I don't know. It just sort of made me feel good, it made me smile, it's a feel-good song, yeah definitely, definitely a feel-good song, very bright. A good one too.

Speaker 2

Let's skip around.

Speaker 1

Yeah, walking around like so, um yeah, this is a japanese group girl group co-managed by 360 and ldh japan. Okay, interesting. I'm looking at some quick little information about them. It's pronounced as 5E, really.

Speaker 2

No 5?.

Speaker 1

Yeah, here it's saying F-I dot, v-e-e, like so 5E, 5e. Okay 5E, but they were oh, this is why I like them Formerly known as SG-5, short for Sailor Guardians 5. Oh, so Okay, sailor Moon reference. Okay, I love Sailor Moon. Yeah, oh, they could totally be the Sailor Moon girls too, right? Yes, that's awesome. Okay, very interesting. Yes, just, you know, know a little tidbit about the girls. All right, so cool. I'd be interested to hear what else they got going on they got more stuff definitely but this is like their most recent song and uh yeah, no they're.

Speaker 2

They're a good classic song um classic girl group classic song, classic girl group yes, okay, but, again without that not that typical like high pitch.

Speaker 1

They're a little a little more mellow, a little more toned down right there's a couple of parts where they go, yeah, into the high stuff. But not.

Speaker 2

Yeah, this is not like a girl group, which is different.

Speaker 1

These, these girls have already have molder talent and their voice yeah, I was gonna say they've been around for a few years. So yes, yes, yes yes cool, but I like that. So far these have been two very sort of not your ordinary pop song, not your ordinary sound, that's I like it, definitely I like it.

Speaker 2

All right. So next we're gonna go with unis. Or unis want to say can you sarah's? Gonna find out to see how to pronounce their name.

Speaker 1

I'm not sure I've been saying it, unnies, they don't. They don't actually say how you should pronounce it okay it just says like unnies.

Speaker 2

And then the korean name all right, so this song came out a while ago. It's just that I have, um, okay, asia followers have been asking to play this song, uh, by some time, so we have not actually reviewed any of these uh songs for this group, so let's start with this one, because this one's, for some reason, the most popular. Okay, wait, I did.

Speaker 1

I did find something. I don't know if this will help us with the pronunciation Pronunciation. It's an acronym for the phrase you and I story. So if you were going to take you and I story, it would be you nice, you nice maybe. But it means the group and the fans are continuing to write their story together. That started during universe ticket, which I guess is the um. This is another group that was a survival show, okay, audition, okay, um formation. So so you and I story, you and not you nice, you're nice, okay, maybe fans you could let us know.

Speaker 2

Let us know if it's annies or you and I nice you and I you nice yeah, okay, that seems seems about right the name of their song is curiousious, which is quite popular. Oh cool.

UNIS: Exploring Curiousious's Rock-Pop Blend

Speaker 1

Here we go, got some heavy rock guitar going on.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, what we're doing the guitar is like letting it rip.

Speaker 1

Yeah, definitely Listen to that beat.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It's definitely a cadence, like they're keeping that beat going and you can hear that guitar still shredding in the background.

Speaker 1

The background they got some good vocals going on over all of this pop rock. Yeah, that I was just gonna say this is sort of a weird combination of club dance and rock. Yeah, like you can see everybody on the dance floor pumping up and down, but you could also see sort of a mosh pit happening, right, definitely, oh, I like whoever in the background. Well, they were talking about new chapter too. Yeah, this is a good showcasing of vocals there I like the clapping.

Speaker 2

Like everybody, clap your hands wow a guitar, everybody dance did they say, okay, yeah, this is wow keeps moving.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, I want to know what she's trying, what she's saying there. I was just wondering that too yeah we're number one oh, I like this.

Speaker 2

It's like once one, but then the bat, it's like one singing or just chopping it in the background. The. The girls are also like with her. The blend to whoever after. Wow.

Speaker 1

That was another one, an unexpected sound, right? Because well, what's funny is there's a group picture of them and they've sort of got this balance of like leather bustiers and, you know, finger gloves with frilly, tutu skirts and platform shoes and their hair is like prettily done, like they're such a visually unique look, cute but dangerous Right, and so is the song.

Speaker 2

So is the music. Yeah, that's crazy, especially with that guitar. That guitar was awesome, it was awesome I liked too.

Speaker 1

There was uh towards the end. There there was a sound that, yes, reminded me of planet earth okay, around all right way, way back. Okay, so it's definitely synth generated. Oh yeah, craziness, but wow yeah, this.

Speaker 1

The only instrument that I can think of was an instrument was the guitar, everything else was just like you know synth and you know drum, you know drum machines yeah, it was definitely a drum machine, but, uh, the bass though they had a bass too. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, I know, but is it real bass or is it just like you know? That could be auto generated too.

Speaker 2

Yeah, because I think the uh, the main driver here was the guitar oh yeah, guitar was just like wow awesome yeah, like pop rock, I was calling it you know, yeah, it's a very, because the girls are not like the rocking. You know they were just like that pop melody. You know the synchronicity that they had also with the vocals and the blending, that was really nice, it was that was really good production with the girls.

Speaker 2

They really worked their vocals right there, wow. That's why it's so popular and people are like yeah yeah, no, that was just.

Speaker 1

That was a wild ride. That was so cool. We were both here like popping around.

Speaker 2

It was definitely yeah, the head pop there yeah, don't drive on this one, you'll be speeding yeah, definitely oh god and swerving because you're gonna be like moving.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I mean it definitely has that like right driving beat.

Speaker 2

Wow, so that was cool, all right. So, last but not least, uh, lesser of him have actually dropped a new song. Um, let me bring it up. Of course, I'm gonna be away from the mic for a moment oh, that's all right.

Speaker 1

Yep, well, that'll you know. Give me time to, for people who don't know, sarah femme, south korean girl group. They've been around for a few years.

Speaker 2

Three, four they're under hype and source music yep the big bad hype oh my god, everybody I know people are not liking that company lately well, not lately, it's been a few years anyways.

Speaker 2

So, yes, let's let up him. Have actually dropped a single called hot, but now that I'm looking at it, it's an ep called hot. Oh okay, but that ep has a song called hot, all right, and of course we're gonna be talking about hot. You can always you know listen to the other ones there's. Uh well, listen to the titles. The first one, the first song, is called born fire, then is hot. The third song is come over. The fourth song is named ash, oh, uh-huh. And the last song is so cynical badum or something like that.

Speaker 2

Oh geez okay, so cynical, but um I know like as in, but I know what is that it probably actually means something and we just don't know. Is Brienne? That we don't know, probably.

Speaker 1

Yeah, born fire, hot come over. Ash so cynical.

LE SSERAFIM: Hot EP Review

Speaker 2

Wow, a lot of emotions here. Yeah, definitely A lot of emotions. So we're going to talk about hot. We can give a a little listen to the rest. Well, later we'll go, yeah this is the most streamed right yes, because it just came out, they just used that one as their single. Okay, all right, so we're gonna listen to less at a fin, hot, very haunting beginning.

Speaker 1

Yes to like that bring you into the pop. Yeah, the whispery vocal. It's got a really good bass line.

Speaker 2

Yeah, whoever's playing bass is awesome yes that warm organ in the background. I like the subduing the background. Yeah, yeah, and then bring it back in. It's definitely a pop song. I like the little pop.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's like little mini bubbles popping, yeah, explosion.

Speaker 2

It definitely has that classic pop sound with the vocals.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's a very like old school girl group singing style, right, except for this part.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they're sort of rap right, but this part is the poppy with the background you know, yeah, the girl group harmonizing yeah along with like an organ sound right, this is so 70, though that sprinkle of bonnie and clyde, I know, yeah, no running from me, from it. Okay, the way that they have, like the production of the vocals also very 50s.

Speaker 1

This is very 70s though. Oh, that's a sort of strange synth intro to that. That was very interesting as well. Yes, these have all been really sort of like a blending of so many different styles and sounds all at once. I liked the way their vocals worked with the music in this as well.

Speaker 2

Yes, the production. Yeah, that production was good the direction they have given the girls as well, on how to project the lyrics and the blending of their sound. You know their sound, or their vocals, right, and the sprinkle of the bang you know it's, it's good, yeah, it is.

Speaker 1

I like that a lot. I was looking at the credits because I know that in the past they've worked with nile rogers, who's an amazing funk right artist. So I was like, did he work with them? Because whoever was using that bass, like that, was such a nile rogers and chic kind of sound, so maybe they, maybe he left them with a few, you know, tips and hints.

Speaker 2

Here's what you should do, who knows, maybe he has a fan out there that likes the way he plays, and just you know, hey, I'm going to study his style and just use it, you know.

Speaker 1

Yeah, because that definitely had elements of, like you said, the sort of 50s girl group, 60s girl groups.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

But it also had that 80s sound but that 70s sort of a little bit of funk going on there. So I mean this was like it all worked together yeah, it was awesome.

Speaker 2

I liked that um, there's the, the song come over, which is like the second heaviest stream you want to tack on another song with them to that one see, because it starts with a, with a, there's the song Calm Over, which is like the second heaviest stream you want to tack on another song with them.

Speaker 1

I want to listen to that one and see, because it starts with a drum. Oh, it does. Yeah, all right. Oh is that what we started to hear? Yeah, oh, okay, yeah, we can do that. We're going to give you a twofer on La Sera Femme.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the song it will be come over and is, uh, the third song of the ep hot see, this is this opening.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's sort of surf like surf rock from the 60s yeah, it's giving that vibe beach party. Yeah, but very sultry vocal yeah oh, oh, oh, springfield.

Speaker 2

What's her first name?

Speaker 1

last name is dusty springfield yes, yes, she reminded me of her. Okay, yeah, I can I hear.

Speaker 2

Because I was like wait a minute. This is the blend of the 60s and 70s.

Speaker 1

Yeah. So it's sort of they're still sort of channeling that 60s girl group.

Speaker 2

Right.

Speaker 1

Like.

Speaker 2

But this, the production, the composition of this song, the organ, yeah, psychedelic. Yeah, there's a girl in the background going ooh.

Speaker 1

And that wailing guitar out of nowhere.

Speaker 2

Now you have two in the background going ooh. Wow, Now you have more vocals in the background.

Speaker 1

It's like ascending yeah, starts out deep and goes up to an ah and the like little woo-woos in the background yes, wow, but this beat. Yeah, I like this this is so nostalgic.

Speaker 2

This song is so nostalgic for me with all those sounds yeah, well there's.

Speaker 1

The beginning was like surf rock, but there's like now motown, yeah, and like you got psychedelic rock in there too, yeah and like uh, I don't know things that sound sort of like the bgs and I even hear the doors, girl and like that ending like bongos, and then the, the, uh, drum, the yeah.

Speaker 2

Like a snare drum, like what in the world Snap, snap.

Speaker 1

Wow, that's crazy. That's like all over the place and they're like come over, come over, come over. That's like so Wow, so much going on. We were here. Like hearing so many different sounds. That was crazy. Yes, and all work together. And sometimes I was like is that a guitar or a voice? Because they were doing crazy things with their vocals.

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

Yes, wow, wow.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the whole.

Speaker 1

thing had like a very retro crackly sound to it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, their voices didn't sound very clear, they just sounded like they were on a, you know on a record. They were a little bit like those yeah, the really old studio recording sounds.

Speaker 1

Everything sounded like it was in a tin can it's, but not that it was tinny, but it had that sort of weird reverb to it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it has a yeah, it has a little bit of that crackly sound. Wow, I really like that, that's really good. That is really good. Again. You know when they throw an EP like that, they have a single, but then you start listening to the whole thing and you find gems like this yeah, exactly. Like how come this is not put out there, which is fine? But it's the second most stream what I've been seeing here and uh. And why not? Because the third most stream is ash, wow I do see that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they've all got those three have over a million. Yeah, yeah, wow, because it only came out yesterday. Yeah, hey, so that's pretty good, oh, yeah.

Speaker 2

No, like I said, they just dropped that song and I'm like yeah, yeah, but I mean like literally just dropped.

Speaker 1

I didn't look at the date.

Speaker 2

I didn't look before. They couldn't wait they just couldn't wait they just couldn't wait. Wow right, so wow you want.

Speaker 1

I really dug those. What you want to do, ash too you want to do ash?

Speaker 2

sure, let's see. Let's see if this is another different sounding, because so far we've been hearing some nostalgic sounds. You know nothing with the quote-unquote new sound, so all right, let's uh check ash.

Speaker 1

So now it's gonna be a threefer on the seraphim all right, let's go it's a weird distorted kind of synth opening here it was giving me like trans vibes I like the richness beat is lower, deeper and, of course, starts more slower.

Speaker 2

Subdued voices are amazing, though. Oh this one with the high notes, yeah, and the beat.

Speaker 1

And yeah, this is like another one, a cross between, like 90s club and disco. Yes, 70s super disco. Listen to the range of vocal singing right there.

Speaker 2

Harmonizing, that's the blend of their song incredible vocals. It's awesome. I cannot say no more than awesome, because it's just awesome, you know yeah, it's like my word for this is awesome. Oh my god, wow yeah, you have one of the girls and another girl and this is her own voice like digitized. Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.

Speaker 1

That blend was nice and the, the beat and the way the different sounds in the background, like all the instruments, are the percussion they've got going in the back. Yeah, it's crazy. I love it wow, and even though it's more upbeat, it's still very trancy yes it does because of their vocals yes, like this could be a blackout song. Yeah, it could. I think I sort of did for a second there.

Speaker 2

I was like right, I was staring off into space definitely oh, and then we got our our guitar person that is just like oh my god, he is epic rock guitar. I got paid, that's for sure, because, oh my goodness, oh, this silence is like spooky.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, oh then it gets you just like a quick two beats of silence yeah, and then it's like wow, wow. I am so impressed with these songs that they just these three songs are amazing yes, and they're also different from each other. Yeah, definitely like there's hints of similarities between them, but they are very different. Yes, and what I love is this is like not your typical sound for south korean girl groups exactly well, not your typical, for, like any girl group, yeah, that's true you know, like you know, I mean it happens, trends and whatnot and things sort of sound similar.

Speaker 1

Yeah, like not this.

Speaker 2

No, no at least on the three songs, have you noticed? There was no rap lines.

Speaker 1

It was right there was sort of a quasi sort of yeah, more like they were just speaking right, but not like that aggressive rap, hip-hop, like lines that you hear.

Speaker 2

Uh, of course some girl groups will have. You know the rap, you know the rapper of the group. Oh, but on these three songs that we just heard, I didn't hear that. It was just more like the labia, you know, like talking to you sweetly or assertive, but not like in your face, you know. Wow, that was so dreamy, definitely a blackout song?

Speaker 1

Yeah, I would say it is Sweet.

Speaker 2

That was amazing, that was really awesome. The girls voices were beautiful, well, and so awesome.

Speaker 1

It was, to me, anyways, just very different sounding from a lot of the things we've been hearing. Right, you know, like wow, and all of the groups actually had very unique sounds going on. Yes, so the the groups that we've just talked about have all been, but I mean, la seraphim here is established and this is just right, blew me away because I've I know we've heard them before and listened to them before, but but this like caught my attention. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2

Yeah, these are songs that of course they're not put out there more or stream more you know, these are the songs that actually be showcased more because of the ability that the girls have in their vocals and their directions. They have been taking on these songs and I know that everybody's a most of the fans aim are more for the charting the girls. Chart the girls because this is a song that is the single. But I mean, if you really want to make justice to your artist, you need to introduce this type of music yeah, you know you need to say hey, listen to this girl group.

Speaker 2

And if people listen to it and don't tell them the name and be like, oh they, they could, I will, you know, have the person listen and get their opinion on it and then be like, oh, it's this girl group and I'm like what? Yeah, get their reaction on it and you know what I'm going to be playing more of the B-side, you know, because these are the ones that are so awesome.

Speaker 1

So frequently I actually do enjoy B-sides more. Yeah, and for my whole life, not just listening to. You know the Asian artists that we listen to, starting way back, even with my faves from forever ago. Often I was like, oh, what's this song on the b-side? That's way right.

Speaker 2

We always have said that.

Speaker 1

We have always said that yes you always find something you know, not always but, often you can find a hidden gem. That's where people sort of experiment, yeah, with sound, and what I like about all of these songs is like this was going out on a limb and sort of switching it up musically.

Speaker 2

So I like it a lot, so congratulations to the girls. This is amazing. Yes, it is love, just love.

Speaker 1

I think this could be our first female group blackout song. Huh, I want to say yes, because other ones we've been like. You know you definitely get in the zone with it in the groove, but like this one I was. I was literally like spacing right.

Speaker 2

I was just staring at nothing, like wow listen to that, like I'm paying attention to this and like, whoa, you got my brain. Awesome, wow, ash.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's. I would say that would be my number one pick actually.

Speaker 2

From the three songs that we just heard.

Speaker 1

Yeah, Because it wow, it was just so, I don't know enticing and like drew you in and it just held you the whole time. The other ones, like you could move freely and you could think about something else and still feel the beat, and that one was like no, we, we're taking you over, you're hypnotized, you will go nowhere until the song is over.

Speaker 2

Exactly, yeah, that one definitely catches you.

Speaker 1

Awesome.

Speaker 2

Awesome, want to listen to the other two. No, no, no, that's all right. That's all right. We can listen to those on our Arnisha time. So you know, awesome, but yeah anyway. So please check these girl groups out. You know, give them a chance if you never heard of them and also if they have an EP, just like Lesser FM here, check for the B-sides. Maybe there's a song in there that you'll be like oh my God, I like this one more.

Speaker 1

Yeah.
