Each song creates a distinct atmosphere—from romantic cherry blossom picnics to high-energy arena parties—while showcasing the incredible vocal talents and production that make STARTO artists stand out.

What makes this episode particularly special is how these five tracks form a perfect playlist progression, starting gentle, building in intensity, adding an anthemic energy, cruising along, and ending with an all-out celebration. Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir coming to you from Northampton Mass, with me Sarah and Miss DJ.

Speaker 2

Panic Giving it all. Bring it all out there, miss DJ Panic. Okay. And I'm just Sarah, so you know that's always the same I started sassy because when sarah and I started the episodes we kind of have a little chat and we, if we talk about some topics and it I get sassy yeah, or it's like I don't know.

Speaker 2

I kind of bring the attitude over here too, but we're you know why I'm so sassy? Because I'm so happy about these that I'm going to be going to talk about, oh, yeah, yeah, because it has been a while since we have actually dedicated an episode to start to talent. Yes, that's true, and we are going to talk about five of them today. We usually do four, maybe one we'll get too enamored with and we're like let's listen to another one and let's listen to you know from us we have done that in the past, but now today's going to be five.

Speaker 1

Startle talents, yeah, we usually throw one in here and there. Yeah, because we've been trying to, you know, expand there. Yeah, because we've been trying to, you know, expand, expand the horizon of artists. Just, you know, the starto is really where we started with, because, oh yeah, all of our first episodes really were sort of focused on on start talents because yeah, that's what we had access to first ever episode was arashi.

Speaker 2

Yes, so where it all started for me well, we still wait for arashi to come back from their hiatus. We're just talking, well we'll, we'll chat about the songs of their talents that you know start to have currently, now new talents that actually have debuted in, yeah, and some of these have actually changed names and yeah, they have right, so two just one of them no two of them, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, two of the groups that we're going to talk about.

Speaker 2

They have changed their name and one of them their whole lineup, Right, but the rest you know. One of them we have actually talked since their debut at Time, before they even debuted in America. So and it's just. We have talked about other episodes. I completely just about them. Yeah, we can't wait. But one of them which I think we're kind of happy to talk, talk about. I don't think we ever did an episode on this group, so I'm happy that we're going to talk about one of their songs. Did we?

Speaker 1

I don't even remember yeah, we did the um the party yeah, but not a little.

Speaker 2

Yeah, we didn't do uh it wasn't like one other actual albums or like an ep right it was.

Speaker 1

And yeah, we didn't do it the same way we did the other groups, like we introduced all of them, right, and we talked about a whole album. That's how we used to do things. Yeah, we've been sort of switching it up. So which somebody?

Travis Japan's Sweet Ballad "Say I Do"

Speaker 2

already mentioned in one of our you know know, commented Right, right. I would like if you guys can bring that back. That's how I learn about other groups, because you did episodes like those where we only dedicated to those you know, one artist or the whole group, right, so we got to think of bringing that back.

Speaker 1

Well, I was thinking about the other day too, because I was like geez. It's been a while since we introduced each member and talked about their zodiac signs and where they're from.

Speaker 2

Giving our deep, deep dive. This is when we did like deep, deep dives on an artist that will be like we'll need like a whole long weekend for that.

Speaker 1

Oh, no, definitely Because of work. We have to research and we have to listen to the album. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And because of our work and the way things have you know, we had to switch it up.

Speaker 2

Our new- careers have you know have limited us to right. You know we come from work like oh, oh, drama and work, work anyways.

Speaker 2

But yeah, so we can, we can get back to sort of doing that yeah but for now yeah, I know we're being uh, encrypted of which start the talents we're going to talk about today, but, uh, because we want to introduce them as we go. So we are going to talk about that debut group that we dedicated a whole episode. Not just only dedicated the episode, but the members actually gave us a thank you for talking about their music and also have given us two songs that never been heard outside of japan. So this will be travis japan. Yes and I like sarah just say she's like I'm like I did all that talking

Speaker 1

I wanted you to like say it no, that was my way of saying it. I'm I'm not the type who goes travis japan. Oh, come on, I'm like travis japan. That's what. That's how I do it. I've got a different level of like excitement and stuff from you.

Speaker 2

It's, it's there, it's just of course as always, I'm being sassy with sarah, that's how we, that's how we are with each other.

Speaker 1

That's our dynamic. I was going to say too, though, we've done two episodes for them, because we did the concert experience as well. Yes, so we have our debut episode and then the concert experience episode. If you have not, checked that episode, Sarah.

Speaker 2

We'll put a link in the show notes, right, so they can go back to that episode. We can do both. Yeah, I'll do both. If this is your first time of us talking about Travis Japan. We have done two extended episodes on the group and the first episode it was like the most listened, and it's still being listened by some fans yeah, it is that's amazing, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2

You know, still the number one episode and it was just the boys saying thank you, thank you. It was like so cute. Plus the two songs. That's amazing, you know, anyways, and of course, the concert experience, that in New York City, yeah, all right. So this one it was just the song that we are going to talk about Actually just not just came out, but is their latest track and is for Say I Do so, here we go sounds very sweet I was gonna say it's sweet and it's very uplifting opening the piano.

Speaker 2

Very sweet, yeah. Did you hear like a, like a flashlight, like somebody taking a picture?

Speaker 1

oh, yeah, like a camera flash. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's very sweet, very sweet intro.

Speaker 2

We're both, I know, because their voices are so sweet, even the song, the composition. I like that their voices are just, you know, soothing too I don't.

Speaker 1

The delivery is just so sweet and cute at the same time like it's a very positive feeling song, right, talking about their heart fluttering. Yeah, oh, baby, say I do. It's after they ask do you want to be my, my lady or my baby? Aww, yeah.

Speaker 2

Was one of the lyrics describing this person like a flower or a garden.

Speaker 1

Well, they did say something about a garden Right, A maze garden.

Speaker 2

Illumination.

Speaker 1

Aww, I love you, I love you yeah. Aww they can't imagine life without you by their side. That's so sweet aww, their heart, your heart. Kokoro, it's a little English and a little Japanese, so we're picking up here and there.

Speaker 2

I'm glad there's a lot more English words in this song. I give it to you. Oh, my goodness, their kokoro. I'm glad there's a lot more English words in this song I give it to you.

Speaker 1

Oh, my goodness, they're kokoro.

Speaker 2

I think so I hope, so Come with me.

Speaker 1

Oh, I love that.

Speaker 2

My heart flutters Thinking about you.

Speaker 1

Okay, it's. Do you want to be my lady? Oh.

Speaker 2

I couldn't tell if it was baby or lady. Baby say I do, but then baby say I do Okay. I like this part. It goes a little bit faster. It's like your heart fluttering. Yeah, your baby say.

Speaker 1

I do. Amping up the emotions, getting all mixed up, oh that's so sweet.

Speaker 2

Baby, you know, I love you. Oh, my God, the ending is so cute, adorbs.

SixTONES' Intense Track "Barrier"

Speaker 1

The whole thing was, that was just such a feel-good song, sweet, such a good sweet song. Word of the day. It's a proposal song Come on. It's just proposal song, very sweet oh, is it though, like an actual proposal, or just let's give this a try, let's see where we go, I mean for us in america, when you propose, you know, just like baby say I do you know?

Speaker 2

or when? Wedding day?

Speaker 1

yeah, exactly I do, I do, I do, but it's definitely like a budding relationship and see where it goes, because you're my, everything, you make my heart.

Speaker 2

You know they are in love with you. Please say I do Exactly so sweet. It is lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely. You know, when it comes to StarTale groups, they can change from like the sweetness to the, you know, the explosive. And then this one is a very sweet one from Traverse, japan.

Speaker 1

Yes, it is Definitely I like it very much. Should we mention too, it's apparently the theme song for a drama that's going to star Shaka, my boy.

Speaker 2

Your boy Shaka. He was so cool. When we met him, he was cute.

Speaker 1

He was so diplomatic, he was awesome, so definitely check that out. If you're in the mood for something just nice and light and happy and feel good, definitely say I do by travis japan perfect exactly.

Speaker 2

If you want something, oh, right now, because it's like sakura, you know season yeah oh my goodness, just walking around, have your headphones on and you get that and you know just walking around under the tree blossoms, ah, lovey fluttering down.

Speaker 1

Yeah, oh my gosh, that's perfect, exactly maybe under you know one of on.

Speaker 2

You know, having one of those picnics have all this little like heart-shaped you know food it's just like baby, sad you okay now I'm getting sappy now but I mean it's just perfect, it is, it is, it's like the perfect song, it's like you know. Put it on your playlist when you're sweetheart, you know well, if you're not, if you're not ready to marry this person, they think you're gonna marry me. What? Okay, don't put it unless you wanna, like, propose under a sakura tree, maybe say I do.

Speaker 1

Okay, all right, I'm getting ahead of me giving ideas out there, but it made us so happy. We're giddy. Yeah, it was just so so nice, yeah, and they sound great. Uh, it's just like I said that uplifting tempo and, yeah, the joy and happiness behind the lyrics just special on a great day like new england, today in northampton, massachusetts, is great today very all I can think of the mamas and the papa song, but anyways, but now, so you know, we're thinking of this travis japan say.

Speaker 2

I do so now. We're gonna transition now to the next group that we have not talking a while. Talking about, about their was released was in february. We talked about that it was coming out, because I want to say that jesse yeah, this actually is also a thing song. Okay, that jesse was in a movie, a movie adaptation for the hit manga, a girl and her guard dog okay.

Speaker 1

So yeah, I think, yeah, I remember yeah that was an episode.

Speaker 2

It was uh on a ranch and rambling yeah, yeah, because, um, there was some in news that that starter had let me know. Hey, jesse's gonna be. You know this is a theme song for Jessie appearing, so the song, like I was saying, is for Barrier. If you are a Stones fan, you already probably have the CD you can find. I believe there's a video for this, I think Hold on.

Speaker 2

let me double check, probably yeah, yes, there's a video for this. You can check out Island Stone's YouTube channel you can find the version there and check out their outfits. They're all like Wearing black and it's in leather, you know, because this song Is gonna be Completely different sounding Than the thing I do especially with barrier Like that doesn't sound like love, right?

Speaker 1

there A barrier.

Speaker 2

So we're going to be talking about again Stone's Barrier it started very abrupt.

Speaker 1

I was going to say it's a little aggressive Right. A lot of drum. There's a lot of brass too. Yeah, it has that funkiness yeah, I was gonna say a little funk there and they like those trumpets.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah I did her like a dj scratch, like going backwards. These voices are like. These voices are like hungry right.

Speaker 1

They're very gruff and growly. Yeah, you know, you are my girl. Exactly All day I give you my love. Why?

Speaker 2

are you angry, though I?

Speaker 1

know right, I sound so aggressive.

Speaker 2

All day I give you my love. It's a little, a little possessive. Maybe it sounds like little possessive. Maybe it sounds like this girl is like dude, you got to chill, so they're like I'll give you my love all day.

Speaker 1

And I'm like you need to find a hobby, then I need some space. They want you to be sure. Won't make you cry anymore. What? Why are you making me? Cry Wait, I'm going to forward this a little bit, because I was like what, yeah, won't make you cry anymore, I'll give you what you want. Won't make you cry anymore. Eh, why, that's what I said. I was like wait, why were you making me cry?

Speaker 2

Why were you crying before Yo?

Speaker 1

Well, you listen to them. Yeah, they're like angry saying you are my girl.

Speaker 2

How about this slow part, like probably calm down, because it was like sorry, I came too harsh on you, honey.

Speaker 1

Well, he's a guard dog, right.

Speaker 2

That's true, he would be aggressive, yeah, got it.

Speaker 1

I'm putting it together now.

Speaker 2

But I mean Barrier is the name of the song where they always have this stern barrier.

Speaker 1

Like put up a wall. And they're going to take it down, so that you know they love you. How's that?

Speaker 2

Yeah, because that's what it sounds like Right. But this is really dance song.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's got the super funk, Like we were saying there's brass it you know you want my girl.

Speaker 2

This is yakuza talking to you. Yakuza, it sounds like it, but they got the waka waka guitar.

Speaker 1

Yeah the funky bass, oh yeah the trumpets, and it's very full band.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yes is full band.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yes is wow, wow. That's like in your face, rightez, will you come?

Speaker 2

harsh stones are like I'm here for you. Hello stones, a stone, you gotta be that hard like a stone, like really you.

Speaker 1

You are living up to your name, I guess yeah, definitely, but but no, that was, it was really cool, but that again so angsty and aggressive about it. Yeah, in terms of what the drama is about it sort of makes sense. Right, right.

Speaker 2

But wow, they're intense about this love. You know they're going to tell you.

Speaker 1

I love you honey.

Speaker 2

You know I love you. You're mine. I won't make you cry, no more. Well, if you like, chill boo. If you talk normally, then you will not make me cry.

Speaker 1

I don't know if you're loving me, or you're about to punch me with that, oh my gosh. Well, it's just like they're angry about love.

Speaker 2

Yes, or angst.

Speaker 1

Well, you know, it's probably one of those machismo guys.

Speaker 2

They're like I can't feel tenderness because I'm a man and I cannot show you my feelings, but I love you.

Speaker 1

So I'll be gruff about it and I'll try to be better. I won't make you cry anymore.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Oh my God, but no, I liked it though their voices. They, yeah, oh my god, but no that I liked it, though, their voices. They did a lot of varying uh vocalizations throughout.

Speaker 2

That again, you know stones is another group, you know, start to tell them gotta be very versatile when it comes to like music and you know the tone of voice and this is one of them that they're just like out there and I like when they take this approach. I like their voices for this. This is like, for me, classic stones when they have like that edginess and like roughness.

Speaker 1

I do like that even with their na na na na. I know I they were a little like Right.

Speaker 2

I do like that edge for Stones. Yeah, every time they come with songs like this, that kind of composition, it just fits their persona, it fits the group. Yeah, definitely, I do just like that when they do like the party anthems oh, love, love, love, love.

Timeless' Anthem "Rock This Party"

Speaker 1

We talked about some of those. It's like whoa, yeah, Love it. That was the one I was thinking of. I was like I bet she's thinking of Rum.

Speaker 2

Pompom. Oh yeah, it's everybody. Hey, I can't remember the songs right now, but of course Rum Pompom is one of that. When it came out I was like damn wow, I don't think any groups from that agency ever done that. Um, I think, um, you know, even fuma have mentioned it. Let's say I like when you guys do that part, it's like we never did that on sexy songs. This is like an interview that he did with, like oh, another interview talk that he did with uh, it was him and yuri talking about things about.

Speaker 2

What do they like about?

Speaker 1

what each other's stones.

Speaker 2

And then yuri will say but he likes about sexy songs when it was sexy song, when they were now that I said that, now that I said that I think people will know what I'm going to do right now, because we're going to move into the next song. Move into the next song, of course, my new children, timeless. Oh my goodness, from three now we have eight, yeah, members of Timeless after they were done with the audition and the project. You know, timeless, uh, audition project uh which ended in February.

Speaker 2

No January, but in February, I think they made the announcement the debut the announcement. Yeah, uh, the show Sakura was there. Oh, okay, did you see the episode?

Speaker 1

No, I did not oh.

Speaker 2

I'll have to okay, did you?

Speaker 1

see the episode? No, I did not. After we talked about it, you're like I gotta go see it. I know, I know life gets in the way.

Speaker 2

Sometimes you need to binge binge watch this. You can see the whole thing from the beginning to I know it's all out there now. Oh man, there's some episodes that I'm like I'm bawling with everybody, and then the ending episode. It was like, yeah, spoilers everybody, but it shouldn't be, you know if you have not watched it like they are. You know sorry but not sorry. You saw Netflix and I'm sure YouTube you can find people that have actually bootlegged it somewhere.

Speaker 1

So until somebody catches on and takes it down.

Speaker 2

But yeah, right. So, but you, I'm sure everybody knows what song I'm going, that we are going to talk about, and it will be Tim Rock, this party.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, this is definitely an anthem style boom, clap Boom boom, clap, you're ready.

Speaker 2

Now Rock this party.

Speaker 1

What are you waiting for?

Speaker 2

do you need an escort? I do. It's gonna take me ah the soft.

Speaker 1

You know what's up they're ready, I'm ready too yeah, tonight's gonna be amazing.

Speaker 2

I want a timeless party yeah, I want a timeless party too.

Speaker 1

It, I want a timeless party too. It's cute. That was something about, isn't it?

Speaker 2

So, there I like the wo-o-o's Right, we go from na-na's to wo-o-o's. Oh my, I love his voice. He's so cute. There's a lot of transition going on throughout this.

Speaker 1

They start out that strong anthem, boom, boom, clap. Right Now we've got some sweet vocals, had a little oomph, that synth that goes like what Like that?

Speaker 2

Just bring you in.

Speaker 1

Now it's like the group chant kind of yeah, that's come on, come on Rallying you up. Uh-oh, you can't help but sing along.

Speaker 2

Right, it's so catchy, this song is so catchy.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, here's the bringing it home.

Speaker 2

Yeah, with that electric guitar in the back and that just driving it into you.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we're gonna party. We're gonna party. Hit it for my, then they chill, slow it down a little not like they bring you up then, like now you're gonna bring it back in, I'll bring it back up. Amp it up again yep, wow, hey, I need a light stick to be like right waving it around come on, come on, come on. I can't I can't stop. I know you just have to sing with the guys. You just have to. I know it's infectious. Oh my God Love.

Speaker 2

Wow, yay, my children Time verse.

Speaker 1

Yeah, the whole new group of children.

Speaker 2

Wow, I'm an octomom now.

Speaker 1

Oh, my goodness, Wow, the energy to that. They bring you up and then they let you cool down a little, and then they boom, boom, boom you up again. I'm so happy for my new kids.

Speaker 2

It is totally a rock, this party, oh wow you know, this song on spotify have already over 5 million streams. Wow, yes, congratulations guys yeah, that's awesome wow, wow, wow, wow, and also for monthly listeners. They have 1.3 million monthly listeners. Wow, wow, it's just like.

Speaker 1

It's like the world already knew about these boys and couldn't wait for them to be streaming and be like oh my God, we can share these everywhere. Yeah, definitely, you know it'd be like you know.

Speaker 2

you know us fans, we talk about our group, we love our groups and when it comes to Star Trek Talents, a lot of them are not on streaming service, so you have to go get cds. So what end up happening? If any of these fans are kind of like us, was this like, hey, I got the cd for so and so and then we kind of share it? Yeah, but you know, and all the friends are like, who is this? You know, because we like to play it in the car and we have people in the car.

Speaker 2

We kind of. That's when we really introduce other people to our kind of music and they're like what can I get this? You cannot get it anywhere. I'm like a sounds like a drug dealer. It has to come through me if you want a piece of this. You know, you know. So now that it's readily available, fans are just like yeah, they're right here on Spotify. Here's a link. Go follow them, go listen. Oh, I'm so happy.

Speaker 1

I know, with the ones we can, that's what we do.

Speaker 2

Exactly here. Here's a Spotify link. Here's a link for it. Go check it out, listen to it. And I look at that. Oh my God, god, that's awesome, that's amazing. A million monthly listeners, that's awesome. Girl, I'm so happy. I'm so happy for you guys. Boo, my babies, my babies. Oh my goodness, fuma is like what 30? Did fuma turn 30 this year or he's 31?

Speaker 1

oh, wait a minute.

Speaker 2

No, I think just 30 did he turn 30 this year, right? Oh, my god, I'm a bad mama.

Speaker 1

Yes you are like. We know his birthday was earlier this month. I know, we know his birthday, I think he did?

Speaker 2

yeah, I think he did, because Kenty turned 30 last year and Fuma, I think, is the second person that needed to turn 30, I think, oh man, I'm really bad. Anyways, I'm really happy about my children. This is amazing. I can't wait for more music to come out for them. I know right, I know they're doing their tours out in Japan, of course.

Speaker 2

But hopefully more music to come out for them. I know, right, I know they're doing their, their tours out in japan, of course, but hopefully, oh, and the show that we can't see because it's in japan on sundays oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, remember that hour, the 25, 25, japan.

Speaker 1

We were like we don't, we can't even tell you the time because somebody made a typo right, we're like what, what is this?

Speaker 1

Yes, they're Timeless man Variety show, cool. But yeah, no, that's a feel-good song also. It just sort of I don't know gives you this sense of belonging to something. I felt like I was part of something. That was, I don't know, a very weird sensation to get from a song when you're just the two of us, but it did. It felt like we were part of this big party. It was awesome. I like. I like that. I'm looking forward to more from them too, see how they evolve now that they've now they're eight members now, yeah, wow, wow, speaking of eight numbers, brings us to our next group next group from starto, which, uh, of course, now they are on streaming services.

Hey! Say! JUMP's "Super Cruisin'"

Speaker 2

So heisei jump, also known as jump. Yes, I've actually dropped a single on march 26th and uh, it's for um.

Speaker 1

We're still waiting for Yamada to release another one but no, we thought a single was coming out, but now we have this new single.

Speaker 2

We're gonna be listening and talking about Heisei Jump's Super Cruisin' good opening guitar riff here.

Speaker 1

What is that sound?

Speaker 2

at first I thought it was gonna be like a rock song, but then it is, but it's, it's pop it's too. Yeah, poppy, I thought it was more rock. Oh, you thought more like like a super rock yeah, I don't know with the samples in the bag, though yeah, like there's like a mix of genres here yeah, there definitely is hello, super crew, super crew.

Speaker 1

Yeah, super cruising cruising and this yeah, like that's like, yeah, like the little samples, yeah get this little wrap over there yeah, this wrap section, just a little. Just a little. Do you hear that sort of demented keyboard in the background? That's my Whenever something's like a little eerie like Funhaus sounding. That's my description, I think more, like you know, muted.

Speaker 2

It sounded more like a muted salsa or mambo.

Speaker 1

No, it was weird, it was sort of eerie it was muted, and for her and Sarah, everything's eerie for her. Well, people decide how they hear that sound. It sounded muted, and for her and Sarah, everything's eerie for her. Well, let people decide how they hear that sound. It sounded muted? Well, no, it did. But that was why it was sort of creepy, because it's like. I mean, it's a feel-good song, for sure.

Speaker 2

But I think they're just experimenting with some sounds the slow down, it's beating up quick Experimenting with some sounds, the slow down, it picks up.

Speaker 1

The organ going.

Speaker 2

I like the hip hop beats.

Speaker 1

This has elements of a lot of different things going on.

Speaker 2

That was awesome.

Speaker 1

I love that song I really love this song. That's a. That's a super cruising song. Yeah, listen to you while you're driving and be like, yeah, I'm super, because there was something about wind in there, so maybe they're talking about the wind going through your hair and driving around, just being cool, letting everybody know who you are. Here I am that's pretty good.

Speaker 2

That's a good song I like that.

Speaker 1

It's upbeat keeps you moving yeah, definitely another one with the catchy, you know line you know, catchy another, catchy one Love love, love, love. I like that little one. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, exactly Eight members here, everybody taking their turn.

Speaker 2

Exactly Eight members here. I like us. I think I believe four of the members did the rap rap lines. Yep, that was cool. I was like yeah, I like this. You know some took melodies, some took more of the. You know the hip hop lines, the edgy and the smooth.

Speaker 1

It was a really good mix. I liked that.

Speaker 2

I liked that too.

Speaker 1

Super catchy.

Speaker 2

I don't know if it has a full video yet. I would like to see the video. Also, would like to see them perform that live.

Speaker 1

I know right what kind of choreo they'd have going with it. I think there is a video. I see something youtube.

Speaker 2

Hey, say jump super cruising, so it might be there yeah, the one that I just seen right now is only the teaser, which is like 14 seconds. Okay, but they gotta have already the video. If they already have the song on streaming service, you would think so right, because, yes, heisei jump is also on streaming yes, there is a video and is, uh, two minutes and 56 seconds.

Speaker 2

Now the thumbnail. It just has like a blue sky and then a yellow sign with like red letter lettering saying super cruising, hazy job. Should I click on it, if you want? I want to see if they're dancing and stuff.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah yeah, yeah, good point here. We'll checked it out to see. There doesn't seem to be the full video yet, but we got the teaser. We saw that the just the feet walk in and then you saw a few of them.

Speaker 2

Looked like they were in bleachers, right like hanging out in a stadium, of course, like four of them were like by some, I think they were more like stairs yeah to somewhere. Oh, that could be yeah and then they were, but they were like on a street.

Speaker 1

I was looking quick yeah, and then the the back view of them all with their white shirts and black suspenders. So, yeah, huh, if that's sort of what's going on with the video, it looks like it could be cool. Yeah, and it looks a little like they're like yeah, we're cruising around town, the gang of eight of us they're not driving, they're just walking, they're walking.

Speaker 1

That's what I mean. We're just, but you could be cruising while you're walking. We're just a large group of people moving around, but cruising is when you walk, you can get in a car. There you go. But no, I liked the look of things because they had sort of just regular street clothes and they had sort of like a matching set of not quite dress clothes. So I'm looking forward to that too.

Speaker 2

Cool. Why don't you tell people about Sheenan looking?

Speaker 1

forward to that too cool. Why don't you tell people about sheenan? Well, when they they showed this back shot of all of them. You can pick him out immediately because I love the boy dearly. But he is short, he the line goes across you love your shorties.

Speaker 2

you love your shorties. Come, come on From Snowman, you're like oh, I like that, I know right.

Speaker 1

Well, even with Aria she owns the shortest. Yes, I love your shorties.

Speaker 2

Sarah loves her shorties.

Speaker 1

I do Yam Yam's short too, but no she.

Speaker 2

No, she wins hands down.

Speaker 1

It was the minute I saw that lineup I was like, oh, there's Sheenan that was the first person you picked.

Speaker 2

You didn't pick your mother.

Speaker 1

You're like oh, Sheenan, Just so everybody knows we're not making. I love him dearly. Oh my God, you can pick him out in the lineup Exactly.

Speaker 2

We're not picking on him.

Speaker 1

No, come on, he's just so adorable.

Speaker 2

He's probably like I hate this. People are calling me adorable. I'm a man. Come on people, I'm a man.

Speaker 1

Oh God, Come on, you're so cute. Well, it's like in their concert when he was doing the tough guy image, I was like he's too cute for that.

Speaker 2

He is. I know you see him. You're like, oh he's so cute. Listen, lady, I'm a man. Come on, is he also in his 30s? Like yeah?

Speaker 1

maybe, I think he's probably, yeah, at least 30. Yeah, yeah, he's a man, he's so cute.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah he's a man, I know like we have some co-workers who are shorties too. We're like oh, you're so cute. It's like I'm your age, respect me. We're actually older than you, respect me. And I'm like oh, you're so cute, I think. Uh. One co-worker said yeah, keep calling me cute, I'm closer to your kneecaps, I can bring you down.

Speaker 1

I was like oh man wow, yeah you, you're being sweet and they gotta bring the violence. Wow, but no awesome song. Lots of fun, high energy another catchy one yes another. Yeah, we were just singing along, because it's only been out a couple of days and I I had heard it before because it came out on the, the whole new release thing, but with the headphones it's a whole different thing. It's a whole different thing. Great song, but we were. We were both super, super super cruising.

WEST's Explosive "West Side Soul"

Speaker 2

Yes, we were. Excuse me, that would be laughing so much I'm like we just say we see them out in a lineup. We love our yam yam, we always talk about yam yam, how beautiful he is, but. But when you see them all together, you said shinen, like that's the first person you will like shinen. And then you say, oh yamada, but it's like he brings joy, he does, he does, he's just so, he brings joy.

Speaker 1

So energy, well, that's you know, that's why I like these guys, though they've got the energy, yeah, the impact, you know. Oh my god, okay, too funny, but good song. Check it out on streaming. Yes, it'll be in the show notes.

Speaker 2

So yes, you'll be able to click on it. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Now, speaking of funny, now we're going to talk about a funny group coming out of kans. I think people already know, like when I say Kansai, kansai groups are just funny and joyful and I don't know, you see them singing, you see them, and they just want to bring you. Every time they are on stage they just bring you in with them.

Speaker 1

So they got the positive energy and the exactly high energy too.

Speaker 2

They're always a raucous crowd, yes so we went from two groups with eight members. This one has seven. All right, we're gonna be talking about west. Yes, so west just released a song only on youtube, and uh, it's well, it just came out only on youtube, okay I actually did play it on.

Speaker 2

okay, asia, one of the one of the fans were kind of worried you don't have the cd, don't play it. I'm like, well, actually sarto have actually offered to, you know, asked me that I wanted the song so they can play it on the show, and I was like, yay, that's awesome. So, um, but only on the radio show. Only on the radio show, of course, and that's awesome because they're like we. It came out, actually, the video on tuesday, march 25th. This will be actually west of 24th single. I want to say Hold on, let me get my notes, because, yes, it's going to be West's 24th single track. It's named West Side Soul Wow, 24th. 24th, 24th single Wow, that's insane. 24th single Wow, that's insane. So, yeah, of course, this is going to be full of West energy. You know how they are, so like bringing the party, you know bringing you with them in the party you know, like every concert that they do, they're so explosive.

Speaker 2

So Sarah and I want to be singing, no singing, yeah, and I want to be singing, no singing yeah, we're gonna be singing.

Speaker 1

Well, we probably will be singing.

Speaker 2

Yes, yeah, it's gonna be I'll bet it's gonna be as catchy and we're gonna be singing um on this. Uh, west love soul. I gotta find the song. Hold on, what's it again? I want to make a correction. It's West Side Soul, but I'm sure it's going to be soulful. That's why I was saying West Love Soul. But you know we love this group Anyway.

Speaker 1

so love is going to be in there. That's why you said love, because you love them.

Speaker 2

Of course, love my bros. All right, here we go. I like that already starting funky. Definitely put your hands up.

Speaker 1

As you know, wes love to involve their fans in all their songs. Listen to that guitar riff yeah. That's got a little bit of funk there, a little bit of soul.

Speaker 2

The bass. There's always a party with Wes. I like the little growl in the voice. There's a wah-wah, ow, wow, wow. I like that synth.

Speaker 1

And then it's all like I don't know is there like Casey and the Sunshine Band, sly and the Family Stone. Yeah, that synth is crazy. Clap your hands up.

Speaker 2

It's a party with Wes. You gotta join somebody.

Speaker 1

That synth is sort of like a voice almost. Yeah, it's like playing against the actual voices.

Speaker 2

That's cool playing against the actual voices.

Speaker 1

That's cool, it's so much their personality, oh yeah, the arrangement is so their personality someone in the background I don't know what he said, but it's very colorful sounding like that's how west is there's just a a rainbow, yeah, rainbow party yeah.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, you know without just listening to the music they are, like you said, just bring color to their song.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 2

So colorful, Like you said, just just just the music. We're not even looking at a video, I know we could be looking at the video.

Speaker 1

I know, wow and that that was an amazing like intense crescendo their music.

Speaker 2

It's changed a little their unison, their voices and their unison, love, just love.

Speaker 1

They just have like like manpower I don't know, but like everybody's in the background doing that, whoa right, someone's singing over it. It's so cool, it's. Uh sorry, I'm getting distracted by this like what the heck is that?

Speaker 2

I remember listening to this. I'm like what is that? It's gonna be part of the video.

Speaker 1

I think they're enjoying the melody. Maybe, I guess, or a great melody, wow, I know.

Speaker 2

And it's just abrupt. Get your hands up. That's Wes for you, wow.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that was another. Like just party. Hey, have a good time. Everybody I don't know. I see confetti, I see streamers, I see glitter, fireworks, people just dancing and having a good time, fireworks, yeah.

Speaker 2

Just a blast, complete blast, explosive, just like the boys. The guys are just explosive, they are.

Speaker 1

I love Explosive, just like the boys, the guys are just explosive, they are. I love that was awesome.

Speaker 2

So the name of the song West Side Soul Definitely Kansai is soulful. You know, they're just. We're nothing like Tokyo, we are our own, we're just. I don't know party town, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 2

It's a different mindset, yes, which you know, you and I were like we, if we ever go to osaka, we're gonna have so much fun because I don't we feel their vibe, we we've. It's like our, our type of life. You know, absolutely not like we're not gonna like tokyo. We will kind of love tokyo, but I don't know. Listening to music, people that come from kansai, we're like, yeah, we're kind of, they're kind of have a little bit of massachusetts, right yes, definitely like it could be.

Speaker 2

You know the boston side of like you know japan.

Speaker 2

You know it has that yeah, raw, that nobody really understands us, but right, we have a good time and that's what matters exactly when you, to understand people from massachusetts, especially from boston, you have to leave, live here and experience it and then you understand. You know, the greediness of ron is that it is our state and that you know, yeah, definitely, but also kansas has. We has that feeling like from us, from living over here. That's why, when I hear you know west, it's like why do I tend to be like you're so familiar to us? It feels like home. Yeah, you know, it feels music from home. I don't know, it's just I, that's how I can describe it. But the composition so funny, of course, slapstick, just like they are fun, funny, comedic. The boys, the guys don't boys, the guys are just. You know, it's a party over here.

Speaker 1

Let's have some fun. Yeah, well, you can tell they're just having a good time with it, just having fun. Wow, that was just so energetic and uplifting and happy making. Like I said, I was like this is a full-on party happening in my head listening to this, everybody just jumping around having a good time, and that's how we've always sort of envisioned west yeah they have their moments of the, you know, soulful, draw you in yeah, like smooth soul but, this is the like, funky soul.

Speaker 2

Yeah, this is yeah, this is them. They're puberonous. Love, love, love love awesome.

Speaker 1

Yes, people are definitely. You're gonna have a wild ride with all of these songs exactly. They're so different.

Speaker 2

We start you smooth with Travis Japan, I do oh yeah, they're sweet, cute. Then we kind of jump into some like abrupt, you know, like stones, barrier, mildly aggressive, yeah. But then we go to party with Timeless yes, you know.

Speaker 1

The anthem. What you expect to happen in an arena when you're partying, like when you're in a concert and you're like? Yeah the whole crowd getting into it.

Speaker 2

Yeah. And then we bring more of the party cruising with Jump, super, super cruising. Yeah, that was like nice, and you know.

Speaker 1

Yeah, grooving over here, we're all hanging out. Yeah, we cool. And we ended up explosively with west omg, I know right, the raging party.

Speaker 2

Oh, that could happen anywhere exactly, we have arrived and it's a blowout and everybody's just wow brah, they just yeah.

Speaker 1

They bring the party wherever they are. It's a party, it's a party.

Speaker 2

That's what that one is yeah, we arrived from the cruising awesome, oh excellent.

Speaker 1

Well, definitely check them all out. Awesome.

Speaker 2

Yes, music coming out to start though this is all start to talent. We have not done one like that in quite some time. No, it was so overdue. Now that you know, like I was mentioning before, some of these talents are already on streaming services yes they are also all on youtube, so um, youtube music as well. So you can, if you have that, go for it, make your own playlists and enjoy their songs and, you know, make your own like you know mood with them.

Speaker 1

Play with it, have some fun. It's awesome.

Speaker 2

Anything else, miss Sierra, I think we're good. Okay, we got it covered. Awesome, Awesome, awesome Awesome. We had so much fun.
