Summer nostalgia hits different when it comes with a side of hope for devoted J-pop fans. Sarah and Panic serve up a deliciously meandering conversation that begins with seasonal treats but evolves into something much more exciting for Arashi followers.

Remember those perfect Ben & Jerry's flavors that disappeared from freezers forever? We take a deep dive into the "Flavor Graveyard," mourning lost treasures like Rainforest Crunch, Cool Britannia, and Wavy Gravy. The passionate debate about these frozen delights reveals how certain foods become time capsules for specific moments in our lives - and why we're still grieving discontinued pints decades later.

But the temperature in the studio rises when we discuss recent appearances by Ninomiya on Japanese variety shows. During a dinner with members of Snowman, he dropped what might be the most tantalizing hints yet about an Arashi comeback. His coy response when directly asked about future concerts - "Well, I guess so. We probably should" - has us analyzing every word and facial expression. With Arashi's anniversary approaching in November, could this be the moment fans worldwide have been waiting for?

From ice cream memories to concert whispers, this episode captures the bittersweet feeling of longing - for discontinued treats, for travel adventures, and for the return of beloved performers.

What flavor memories transport you back in time? And are you ready for what might be the most anticipated comeback in J-pop history? Share your thoughts and subscribe to join our music-loving community!

Welcome and Post-Holiday Chat

Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Music Elixir with me, sarah Ann, ready, freddie.

Speaker 2

DJ Hag Wait I've got a new co-host.

Speaker 1

What, why not?

Speaker 2

Freddie. Why not Freddie, why not yeah?

Speaker 1

Oh man. So hopefully everybody's had a relaxing few days. Yes.

Speaker 2

And you're just kicking back now. By the time this episode comes out, it should be post-4th of July events.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you know, fourth of july events. Oh yeah, yeah, you know, I know we have been. I, I think uh, norhampton started their fireworks in june.

Speaker 1

well, and somebody else isn't doing them till october. What I was like october, yeah, my sister and I we were checking out schedules. A lot of places did them earlier, which is usually not the case, right? But one town was like the fireworks will be in October. Wow, exactly. I was like what kind of postponement is that?

Speaker 2

Jesus. I have a feeling that the United States is turning more Puerto Rican because when it comes to Christmas, we just celebrate the whole year.

Speaker 1

It doesn't matter, there's festivities every day If you watch Hallmark Channel or Lifetime Channel.

Speaker 2

Okay.

Speaker 1

They start Christmas in July. They start showing all the TV special Christmas shows in July.

Speaker 2

OMG. No, I know right no.

Speaker 1

But you know what.

Speaker 2

So it is July, okay, so when? Back to school stuff. Oh, probably going to start soon, yeah, end of the month.

Speaker 1

And then already in.

Speaker 2

September we're going to start seeing the candy for Halloween.

Speaker 1

Oh, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2

And then that ends like at the end of September and then we start getting stuff for like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Speaker 1

They'll start Christmas, because last I'm pretty sure last year Halloween hadn't even happened and they'd removed all the Halloween candy and had Christmas stuff up. I was like, wow, I don't want Christmas M&Ms right now, I want fall-themed Halloween.

Speaker 2

Wow.

Speaker 1

Thanksgiving. You know autumn Because, like it's not strictly Halloween Thanksgiving. You know autumn Because, like it's not strictly Halloween, it's just the autumn colors. You know orange, yellow, brown whatever.

Holiday Marketing and Seasonal Flavors

Speaker 2

When somebody starts dropping the pumpkin, spice, blah, blah you're like, omg, already it's too hot and humid out there. Why are you doing this to us? Stop it, because that is the thing. Pumpkin spice, pumpkin spice. I'm like pumpkin spice, I'm like but you know what's funny, all right.

Speaker 1

I mean I understand pumpkin spice for the season around halloween yeah, not before but they, you know what's weird I I don't particularly like. I like pumpkin pie, but I don't want my drink to taste like no, the weird combinations with pumpkin spice like it's some people's thing, it's not mine and I'm not. I don't mind it. You can have it you, do you?

Speaker 1

what I find strange is they get rid of it before thanksgiving even. Yeah, I'm like what. Why is pumpkin spice spice a Halloween thing, seeing as you serve pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas? Yep, to be honest, right, people still have it because it's a winter vegetable.

Speaker 2

Because then after that everything is like the peppermint thing, because that's the whole Halloween, christmas thing Christmas yeah. The peppermint, this peppermint, that chocolate, this blah, blah blah, marshmallow, blah blah, and then it's like okay, then it's the peppermint thing, peppermint, everything you know, refreshing peppermint, da da da. I was like, oh my God, no.

Speaker 1

Actually, I do drink peppermint mocha year round. I know, know, and so does one of our ex-co-workers. She and I one day discovered we both were like peppermint mocha. I was bummed out because I couldn't find any and someone had it in the fridge. I was like who has peppermint mocha? Oh my God. And she's like me. I was like please, let me borrow some. She's like oh yeah, totally.

Speaker 2

She was worried at first, like afraid I was going to be like outing me Is somebody outing me Christmas stuff.

Speaker 1

Oh, that's funny. So then, like she'd call up and be like I'm stopping at Starbucks, because apparently they do it year-round, she's like, oh, I'm stopping at starbucks. You know, this was years ago, we don't work together but she's like, they got the peppermint mocha, you want one?

Speaker 2

so it was pretty funny it's like yay, I got somebody that you know also likes it. I don't feel all by myself, yeah that was.

Speaker 1

I mean, it was years ago, almost five years, but it was before one of the companies started Peppermint Mocha year round. So it was like she was like, just randomly, for some reason, right, that coffee company was doing Peppermint Mocha in the middle of summer and she was so excited she's like you want me to stop and catch you.

Speaker 2

Wow that's cool, that's cool. Oh, by the way, everybody, this is a rants and rambling.

Ice Cream Favorites Discussion

Speaker 1

Yeah, in case you didn't know, although sometimes we rant and ramble before we talk about right certain songs in groups too, so you can never tell with us, yes.

Speaker 2

So hey, you just have to wait and see what you get rambling if you are a flavored coffee drinker or flavor tea drinker, because some people also like flavor teas. What is your favorite flavor? I like mocha, I like mocha. I'm not too good about the whole pumpkin, whatever.

Speaker 1

Pumpkin spice is not my thing yeah, I don't like that, only in the pie. Yeah, that's it, only in the pie.

Speaker 2

Eat pumpkin, not drink it exactly I do like chocolate, mint, chocolate chip, ice cream. It feels very refreshing.

Speaker 1

Yes, it does, I do like that. Actually, have you had peppermint stick ice cream? No, it's like, who makes it? It's oh good question. Who does make it? I'll have to check, okay, because my sister loves it. Loves it, peppermint stick and I do enjoy it. Okay so sister loves it, loves it peppermint, and I do enjoy it okay.

Speaker 2

So it's like having candy canes crushed up in your ice cream oh, I don't know, I have to be in a mood for that one, but I do like the mint chocolate, but it is, but it is good, it is good, I just have to.

Speaker 1

I'm always like I'm gonna bust my teeth on frozen that's the thing it's like with.

Speaker 2

Uh, when there's chocolate in the ice cream, I like it because kind of start getting melty. Yeah you know then, like toffee in it. Uh, ben and jerry's does a toffee something and the toffee can get really hard crunch, yeah, yeah, yeah so I'm like no, I'm not gonna you know. No, it's no not my thing but I, if I do want some type of crunch, the chocolate, maybe a walnut, you know something, nut or or almonds in my ice cream, it's okay, uh peanuts.

Speaker 1

Haagen-dazs makes an awesome. Um, it's a swiss chocolate almond, oh, so the almonds are coated in chocolate inside vanilla ice cream. I think it's good though.

Speaker 2

Oh, I love that one yum yes, so we're talking about ice cream from ben and jerry's I have. My favorites are Chunky Monkey, cherry Garcia.

Speaker 1

Love Cherry Garcia.

Speaker 2

And there was one that they discontinued. I think it was called something forest. It was only made in the 90s Forest Forest and it was like rainforest.

Speaker 1

Something rainforest, yes.

Speaker 2

It had all kinds of nuts Macadamia nuts, brazil nuts. Yeah, it was like rainforest, something rainforest. It had all kinds of nuts macadamia nuts, uh, brazil nuts it was like rainforest crunch or something. Yeah, that was so good discontinued. So those were like pistachio ice cream geez, see if I can find the name of it but like that was like my third favorite. So my two faves, which they still making still making Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey are like my favorites. Let's see Ben and Jerry's.

Speaker 1

Oh, are you looking it up? Yeah, I was going to look it up, but you can do it. I also really like Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia. Very interesting Rainforest.

Speaker 2

Crunch, very interesting rainforest crunch. It was, um, you know that ben and jerry's at the time they love to do like some ice creams in benefit, you know, like, uh, raising money for right. Yeah, so that was the rainforest was one of them. So let's see. Oh, they had one called aloha macadamia. I remember that one. Oh no, that was gone. Oh, maybe this was okay. So this was was also a favorite of mine. So the aloha macadamia was only lasted from 01 to 02, only one year. It was, uh, milk chocolate, cashew, brazil nuts, butter, ice cream with macadamia nuts covered in white and dark fudge and milk swirly and milk chocolate swirl. Oh, that sounds delicious.

Speaker 2

Goodbye let's see, uh, I never tried bovinity divinity. I don't even know what that is, uh, but it lasted quite some time. Milk chocolate, ice cream and white fudge cows swirled with white chocolate ice cream and dark fudge cows, so it had little cows in it. What, oh, frozen yogurt. I'm surprised this was gone. Chocolate chip cookie dough, frozen yogurt, but I thought they're still making. I guess it's just the ice cream just the ice cream.

Speaker 1

Yeah, okay. Wow, we're definitely right, we're all over the place. I forgot about this one.

Speaker 2

Cool britannia. This was another favorite of mine. Yeah, it was only made in the 90s, from 1995 to 1998. Vanilla ice cream with strawberries and fudge covered shortbread that was really good. Oh, wow, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh oh man I forgot about that one. Yeah, that was another favorite of mine. Oh my god, cool britannia bye. That just sucks. No, I mean it's, but if my chunky monkey leaves I'm gonna die. No, not die, but like I'd probably go over there and picket it, but uh are you?

Ben & Jerry's Flavor Graveyard

Speaker 1

are you looking in their uh flavor graveyard? Yeah, that's what I'm looking at oh my god, this one.

Speaker 2

There's one called these Nuts. What, oh, this is nuts. Okay, girl, oh my.

Speaker 1

God.

Speaker 2

Your head hits nuts. Yeah, oh, vermonti Python, what I never. What is this From 06 to 08. This is a coffee ice cream with chocolate, cookie crumbs, swirl and fudge cows, so it's like a coffee ice cream wavy gravy that's another favorite.

Speaker 2

Yep, yep, that's an oldie wavy gravy, oh my god, yes. From 93 to 01. Caramel and cashew. Brazil nut ice cream with chocolate, hazel fudge, swirled and roasted almonds oh my god, yum, yes. Oh my god, see, here's the. This was was around for 10 years, the rainforest crunch, which was my other favorite. So ice cream with rainforest crunch, a cashew and Brazil nut butter crunch yes, that was really good, but it lasted quite some time.

Speaker 1

I can't believe I remembered the name. When you're like rainforest, I'm like rainforest crunch. Yes, because it was full of nuts. Yeah yeah, nutty brittle.

Speaker 2

Love. So that was like the heyday of like Ben Jerry's. Now the company has been bought and it's a little bit different, but Ben Jerry's used to be just an amazing company when it was just Ben Jerry, you know.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly, they were awesome.

Speaker 2

They were these amazing hippies in Vermont. Vermont they had amazing ice cream, but the company's still good, but it's not the same. That's just hard to say. And they yeah.

Speaker 1

So oh, yep, well, I've got. Um, I don't remember what company is, but coconut and pineapple bars, oh, and actually, ooh, and actually ages, years ago they used to make fruit bars. There was like banana, strawberry, peach, orange. It was insane and they were maybe they were fruit yogurt. Okay, they were so good. And I worked in a little general store, you know, mom and pop place, and we sold them and everybody, like we'd always on our break, you know, we got to grab something out of the cooler or whatever.

Speaker 1

I was always like every time they brought a new flavor oh gonna try this one. And I lived off of those for a summer, just like the best treat Every day.

Speaker 2

It's like the best treat. Come on, I think you know.

Speaker 1

Well, think about it, compared to, you know, when we were real little, those frozen pop things that are just like sugar water, oh my God.

Speaker 2

Those that had like supposedly flavored, yeah I remember you can still get them.

Speaker 1

I know it's insane.

Speaker 2

I know they used to sell them for like five cents. Yeah, they're not five cents. No, oh no I don't think.

Speaker 1

But no, it's fine. My cousin loves them and I didn't know they still made them and was shopping around somewhere and like bought her a case wow, because it was cheap, actually, right, so maybe they are only five cents. But I was like, oh, I, I can't deal with them anymore now. Yeah, because it's just like sugar. Yeah, no, it's, but she still loves them, so I bought her a case for her birthday she's so excited.

Speaker 2

I'm sure it's like, oh my goodness, I will be too. Be like, damn you. But yeah, not more. Now my tastes have refined and I don't do those anymore. The more you know, you know, the more ice cream type of. No more of those. But even though I made I told you about. There's a treat, frozen treat, that we make in Puerto Rico called limbel. I think I have talked to you about limbel it's still which we used to make out of Kool-Aid, still sugar water, yeah, but there was one called limbel de leche which was made with evaporated milk and condensed milk. And you freeze it.

Speaker 1

Yes, that would be sweet too, though, because condensed milk is sweet.

Speaker 2

Yes, so it's condensed milk is sweet. Yes, so you, it was condensed milk. Evaporated milk was there, and maybe a little bit of whole milk, and then, uh, you mix it up with a bit of cinnamon, oh okay yeah nice, it is good, it is good. This is the, you know, the puerto rican version of ice cream which I'm thinking about it. It's like it's much better than the sugar water. Oh yeah, because at least milk has protein in it, you know.

Speaker 1

Although, being the condensed milk, it would be like really high fat, high sugar content.

Speaker 2

So yeah, you know. So like which one's?

Speaker 1

less bad. Yeah, there's the drawbacks to both.

Speaker 2

I will go with the limba le leche, you know, and then the sugar water pop.

Speaker 1

Well, at least it's got flavor like a good rich flavor, right, Whereas the other stuff is like just sweet sugary.

Speaker 2

No, that's the thing. Because you have one, you finish it and you want another one, At least with the limba lo leche. You just have one and you're gay. You're okay, You're done.

Speaker 1

Well, because it's heavier. Yeah, It'll fill you up a little more, right. So there you go, limba lo leche okay, so we've gone through our favorite coffee flavors. Favorite ice cream flavor this is summer and all that's.

Speaker 2

All we can think about it's frozen treats, but uh, we had a treat. Actually, on the interwebs we have found out that mr ninomiya we're gonna talk about mr ninomiya because he seems to be the topic for today, because I have seen blurs and it's just him yeah, a lot of things I've well over the past few days too.

Speaker 1

Yeah, he's been going on variety shows right, talk shows, promoting his drama, right yeah so of course that's why he's been popping so much um.

Speaker 2

There's one variety show where he was being interviewed. First of all, he was, uh, in some game or something yeah and the host was in, you know, asking him questions.

Speaker 2

So I'm gonna read this blur that I found from a fan. The person asked him, you know, if he gets to see any of the members. And then Nino Emilia says well, I see members in the streets, often meaning Arashi. The other day I saw Lida, rita, rita, yes, early in the morning. We live in around the same area. In around the same area. He couldn't catch a taxi that early in the morning. I said what are you doing? Just use the app, I'll call, or I'll call one. So for till this day, mr ono does not like to use. No, he's not tech savvy at all. No, no, no, not at all. The streets of tokyo trying to hail a cab no, he all.

Speaker 1

He was all about bicycles. He'd ride his bike everywhere or get a ride from his mom or a taxi. No driver's license for him, so apparently still not giving you an idea?

Speaker 2

to just go to japan and be a taxi driver.

Speaker 1

Just go around looking for oh no people are hailing and I'm like no, you're not.

Speaker 2

No no, no, you turn on the light like not busy.

Speaker 1

Looking for an. Oh my God. Well, I've thought about that before. I'm like I could be a driver for any group, actually, because I've driven in so many different countries England, ireland, scotland, italy, france, allance, all over here, all over the united states, new york, boston if you can drive in boston, you can drive yeah, I mean same thing.

Speaker 2

If you drive driven in florida, you can drive in boston. Yeah, I've driven in, I drove to florida new york city girl yeah, New York City girl yeah.

Speaker 1

Well, new York's easier than Boston. Boston has, like Everything's a one-way street, but none of them are near. They don't go in the directions you need them to, when you need them to, and they're not. It's not a grid like New York, it's the old streets.

Speaker 2

They're using the old plant.

Speaker 1

you know they're using old cow paths yes, wherever the cattle wander, it's because, like, like, chicago's a grid, new york's a grid, right, they're fairly easy, you know. I mean they're newer cities, yeah, everything, yeah, you have your one way. But, like in boston, you're like, oh well, this next right should be one way, this way, right. And it's not. And you're like, so the next next right? Oh nope, that's not either. Like, like it's not even every other one, no, it's, it's insane it's a free-for-all in there, but anyway.

Speaker 1

So, like I said, if I I've driven in london, so not only is that another one, that's not a grid, oh yeah, but you're on the wrong side of the road, which actually, though, I think is the same as Tokyo.

Ninomiya Hints at Arashi Comeback

Speaker 2

Now, there you go, I can do. There you go, go over there, try to learn some Japanese, take some driving lessons, take commercial driving lessons. I guess you have to. Yeah exactly and become a bilingual taxi driver and just look for Ono only.

Speaker 1

Drive around the streets I don't know. Where are you? I need to win the lottery so that I don't you do not need an app, we have to come get you, I will find you. But I find it interesting that Nino's like he's in the neighborhood. Oh really, really, he's right there with all you guys, all right.

Speaker 2

He's not too far.

Speaker 1

He's not off on his island fishing. No, he's not hermited away somewhere. He's right there in the city with everyone.

Speaker 2

I think June says like you're getting too dark, we have a show to start. You need to start practicing. Stop the fishing, Get the choreo down. We need you.

Speaker 1

Yeah exactly. Well, because that's another thing. That's yeah, that, nina Mia. I don't know if he's just teasing us, right, yeah, exactly, well, because that's another thing. That's yeah, that, nina Mia. So, mr Nina Mia, I don't know if he's just teasing us, right, mr Nina?

Speaker 2

Mia was, or if he's hinting at stuff, Having a meal, having dinner with the members of Snowman Yep on their Variety show?

Speaker 2

Yes, and apparently there were some discussions and hints from Mr Ninomiya, so let's see. Should we start with them? Because I think Fukuzawa was the one that started with. This is a blur, translated blur that I'm going to be reading. So Fukuzawa asked Ninomiya or Mr Nino, you guys created Arashi Inc right In the future. What will Arashi send? Sakuma Daisuke interrupted and said will Arashi hold concert? And Nino goes? Well, I guess so.

Speaker 2

We probably should is sort of what he was implying, and Sakuma, you know Daisuke was like does it depend on the timing? So Nino goes. I guess it depends on the timing you know like like, oh my god, like not making sure, but Kano, yes, really. But we're like, oh my god, nino, not making sure, but kind of yes, really. But we're like, oh my God, nino.

Speaker 1

Well, it's the classic him. Well, I guess we should do shows. It just depends, yeah, and the depending on timing, because the anniversary 25th anniversary of RSE is coming up in November, you know.

Speaker 2

So it could be maybe an announcement, but not could be an announcement.

Speaker 1

Well, like I said, you know, Nino is such a brat.

Speaker 2

Exactly, exactly. We have not seen June or heard June doing any dramas or anything like that, right, but he did actually uh, produce the major event, uh, the um, the we are start to oh yeah, in april. So I'm thinking maybe just starting to get himself used to the process of um, you know doing stuff. This is us putting, like you know, two and two together. You know like, like you know, june is like.

Speaker 2

Okay, let me start getting into my producer mode yeah you know director mode, produce, you know make, you know getting things together and blah, blah, blah and stage and this and that. So who knows we? So june's been fairly quiet, so we're thinking.

Speaker 1

Maybe he's thinking of he's, yeah, he's in, in, uh, creation mode. Oh yeah, getting everything in the world. Oh yeah, iba and show have both been doing some little musical stints here and there. They're doing a lot of hosting, getting their pipes ready. Exactly. This is just some, you know, wishful thinking on our part.

Speaker 2

We're thinking this is just warm-ups. You know they're doing their warm-ups on this, you know.

Speaker 1

But the fact that Ono is in the city Right Hanging out and Nino seeing him regularly Like hello.

Speaker 2

Well, not just only him.

Speaker 1

Right, but he did mention later, like you know, specifically yes, so oh my God, I was just happy when I saw that. I'm like oh my God, I know Me too. Did I just read? Did I just see that correctly? Oh my god, I was just happy when I saw that. I'm like oh my god. Yeah, I know me too. Did I just read? It's like did I just see that correctly?

Speaker 2

the joyous moment that we just had.

Speaker 1

We're like, oh my god, this is amazing well, because I only just saw this, the dinner with snowman thing this morning. So I was like what? The dinner with snowman thing this morning. So I was like what that yeah, wait a minute in conjunction with the other thing, that other show.

Speaker 2

So still talking about that dinner. So koji asked or says uh, we were restless, we thought it might happen last year or this year. So then abe. Abe then said I'm happy we got to hear that, like the maybiness, abe said that I don't know if it's just abe thinks that it's really gonna happen, but I think maybe knowing nino because you know nino's face when he's being a rascal yes, you can tell that little smart ass you can't?

Speaker 2

oh, I don't know, maybe so then koji then said when arashi concert happens, uh, you gotta have meme to be your backup dancer. And then nino goes like by himself. We're five you know, you know nino and meme is like I'll dance to Nimo no Miyakun solo Because we know he was actually being the when they were doing the Takizawa Kabuki. He had to miss rehearsal some of the rehearsal time because he was backing up for Arashi at the time. So you know they were not.

Speaker 1

There was still juniors, though yeah, every time I watch a concert you know one of the old arashi concerts I'm like oh, who do I recognize? Who do I see?

Speaker 2

like we have seen shintaro, yeah I'm like, oh my gosh, shintaro, baby shintaro there backing up and and a couple of other members of Snowman backing up Stones, obviously Travis Japan. I mean we're looking at the crowd and I'm like, let's see the juniors. Where are they? And I'm like, oh my God, there he is. Oh my God, that's all I did. It's so cool to see the juniors. It is Because now they viewed it. You're like, oh, that's so cool.

Speaker 1

So, uh, but yeah, those are some blurs that mr ninomiya was throwing out there and we will be very happy I would be yeah, I'm gonna not just us, but the world, oh yeah no, but I'm thinking like I may end up just booking a flight and getting my butt over there whether or not I can get a ticket to the show. Just stand outside the stadium soaking up the energy with that being said, about us going to japan uh-huh uh, family tells me that friends of ours are going to japan.

Speaker 2

Oh, really, in january. They're like um, I gotta tell you something that it might hurt you and I'm like what, what do you mean? What happened? Our friends are going to Japan. I'm like what? What? They're going before me. No fair why. It's like they're going for a knife Lessons oh yeah making knives yeah, it's for a knife thing.

Dreaming of Japan Travel

Speaker 2

It's for two weeks. Oh wow, so there's gotta be some type of you know seminar or something I don't know, for two weeks specialty classes, huh but wait for it. Osaka, oh really, I'm like oh, that's when it really really killed me, because you know how much we want to go to Osaka.

Speaker 2

We like Tokyo, but Osaka we always felt that it's like our town. And just to say, first of all, the first blow, japan. Second blow for two weeks. Third blow, osaka. I'm like I'm dead. No, so you know, they're a family as well. So the wife is like I think two weeks is too much and I'm like I'll be there two weeks.

Speaker 1

It is not too much.

Speaker 2

I was just like okay, she can stay home and I'll just go. How about that? I'll go. What did?

Speaker 1

she talk about Two weeks is too long. What Two weeks? Well, I'll go. What did she talk about? Two weeks is too long? What two weeks? Like that would be the minimum that I would be there.

Speaker 2

She's complaining for two weeks.

Speaker 1

I want to be there for two years exactly that's what I mean like anything less than two weeks. I just don't feel like I get enough out of it.

Speaker 2

You know, it's like some people just don't know what some people are just not about that. You know the country and that's fine. I mean I'm like that's just to let me know that you're really just going, because it's a family thing that you know for the business and whatever. I understand that. And no, I know she's not all about that. So that's why she's like two weeks and I'm like, oh, please, by, by, by the end of week two I'm gonna be like I'm staying you can't make me leave you can't make me leave exactly why do I need to stay here?

Speaker 2

I'm gonna hold to hold on to that door, the departure door. No, no, I don't want to get in there, like the three-year-olds having a tantrum. Don't make me, that will be me. People are going to be like OMG, where's that lady? Oh my God, oh my God, baby people are gonna be like omg. Oh my god, yes oh, ah, laughing, too much I know anyways, and it's gonna be in january, which is a okay, I'm still gonna have a tantrum.

Speaker 2

So, to my friends, enjoy yourself oh my god, I know that would have been perfect, though they do the uh, oh, that would have been a different. We start the um end of year yeah yes, this would have been the first, because last year it was the johnny's right new year's but it was called something else yeah, it was something else, because they stopped calling it johnny's right prior to that okay, but this year, yes, wow. So just let's put that out there in the universe with our woos you know we are seeing signs from nino media.

Speaker 2

He is giving us that, giving us the lulu ideas, yes, giving us those hints. You know he has this blonde color and you know he is the golden heart, the yellow heart heart. Yeah, to me he's like he is a golden person. Um, also, what is out there that is very golden? Pyrite is out, there's a very golden. Uh, citrine is very golden. You know, these are stones that are very attractive to like manifestation. Yes, I think mr inomiya is gonna make this happen. I don't know, I've been leaving it to him. I mean, come on giving those hints and just being cutesy are you tripping?

Speaker 1

maybe I swear to. I just saw something fly in front of my face. Oh my God, you're tripping. What did you put in my water?

Speaker 2

Oh damn, because that would be. What did you have before the water, water. Nothing but water, then I guess it's the Norhanton filter water. I guess.

Speaker 1

so I was like something just flew in front of my face, omg, but anyways.

Speaker 2

So with that, what else we want to say? There's not much on the cape. No, yoko has a new album. Oh, yes, yes, finally. It's been a been a long time, so I'm glad about that. It's a collaboration with Sunset Roller Coaster. I don't know if they'll tour, though. Remember last time they were going to tour and then they canceled that I think it was because of the pandemic.

Speaker 1

I'm trying to remember now. It might have been, maybe it was. This has probably been.

Speaker 2

Is it been four or five years since the last time we saw them?

Speaker 1

yes, oh wow, that's a good question well, you know, I so have lost track of time. I just found one of my um vamps tickets from 2010. Whoa, yeah, I was like what, wow good grief so, yeah, I was going through some papers and I the ticket stub fell out. I was like what's that? It's like vamps. Geez, when was this one from trying to find the date 2010, wow yeah, 2010, that's great ring.

Speaker 2

I'm trying to think the last album that they had oh, was it 20? 2021 was the last album but that wasn't it, yeah, but that wasn't the tour. We saw them. No, we saw them before that it was for the 2019.

Speaker 1

Was it 2019? Yeah, I was thinking 2018, but 2019.

Speaker 2

That was, that was when. That's when we saw them in boston, okay, at the paradise.

Speaker 1

Good grief 2019. That was a huge year for us yes seeing asian artists. And then the pandemic happened and ruined all kinds of things, like arashi coming to the us, yep and bts and hyukoh and monster x. We were supposed to see them that got canceled um, yeah, I mean like they had the perfect seats.

Speaker 2

That's what kills me with this group cursed, even with the solo artist cursed and we're going to see him in august.

Speaker 1

I am oh my god. And wanho gets out.

Speaker 2

I know he's not in monsta x anymore, but there's a connection.

Speaker 1

Uh, he, he's got like less than 60 days, less than two months, and he'll be back, and he's already. I I've been seeing stuff like they're already talking about music and nice, he's gonna. He's gonna come out of the gates running.

Speaker 2

I think I think even though they're in the military, they do have their free time, that he's been working on stuff on, you know, so we might be able to go see him solo. He better come out with a bang like. Come out like, like major like. Oh my god, yes, because of the last album was just something that he threw out.

Speaker 1

There was a little more somber than you know, than usual yeah because it's just last album before going to the military, so it didn't well, plus it was during pandemic stuff, so it's hard to be looking forward to anything when it didn't seem like anything was gonna happen. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2

So so I'm glad that he's coming back oh my god, my God yes. I know right. Yes, let's see what else is going on. I know we're just like anything, talk about anything.

Speaker 1

Well, I didn't see a whole lot of you know, just more dating scandals and more this, because I'm like, seriously, they date. What is up with that?

Speaker 2

they just don't understand it's and it's all speculations. They saw blah, blah and blah blah and it's like the you you saw they were really there. They were. Well, you know, you know, and if they were, let them be. You know, and if they want to say yes, we're dating, let them do it. They shouldn't even be saying yes, we're dating. That's just stupid.

Dating Scandals and Double Standards

Speaker 1

Well, because years ago when June was doing the Hana Yuri Dango stuff, yeah, or right after it ended, he got together for like lunch or something with the female lead Okay, mao Inouye, lunch or something with the female lead okay, mao Inoue. They and I think she was engaged or married at the time but like they just happened to share a meal together yeah, got some lunch, oh my god, in a very public place, like they weren't trying to hide.

Speaker 1

They weren't in the back there and people were like, how can they do this? She's married. It was like they just did a series that lasted years and then they got together and did a a big, huge movie finale thing. They've known each other forever actors, performers, right. Obviously they've built a relationship, you know a friendship?

Speaker 2

Yeah, they're co-workers.

Speaker 1

They're not allowed to have lunch without like the work. I mean, shit blew up over them having lunch together and it was like really they can't just have lunch and not have it mean anything, that's so stupid.

Speaker 2

That is so stupid.

Speaker 2

Now being, you know speaking of you know females just hanging out. Now being, you know, speaking of you know, females just hanging out with you know? A co-worker? I do remember seeing a blur this many years ago, many, many years ago, uh, the drummer of maximum hormone, was hanging out with, uh, it's a friend of theirs. They went out for drinks and whatever. So they saw them together and people were freaking out. She is married and she is a mom too. How's that? What's she doing without her husband? What is she doing, you know, with some guys? Like, first of all, they they're just friends from, like millennials, you know. So what? He just like honey, just just go out. And this is when she was just recently, just had not recently had the baby. I want to say the baby had already like a year or two. It was a toddler.

Speaker 2

Let me tell you dealing with a toddler, come on yeah, I'm sure husband's like I just go out, honey, you low school steam, I'll stay with the kid. You know you go out with. You know with our buddy, blah, blah, blah, and people were having a cow. She had to apologize because everybody was on her case. Married woman out there out in town, her husband at home with the kid, and she's out there with some guy. And I'm like, first of of all, it wasn't some guy, this is a guy that they know each other, the band knows him for years, they're just you know family, you know like hanging out with your childhood friend, he, you know that's how close they are.

Speaker 2

And she still had to apologize, that she feels, uh, that sorry that she did that, that she should have just.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I'm like what. It's not like they're sneaking around somewhere. They're not in the darkest corner at the back of a restaurant.

Speaker 2

She was just going from Izakaya to Izakaya having drinks and you know, having a ball, having a time, and the thing is that they were not only together. There was other people there too, but she was not, the husband wasn't there.

Speaker 2

That's the thing, the husband wasn't there, she was all by herself. Ah jeez, that's yeah, that's the end of the world. Married woman out there, oh, and the husband's at home with the kid? What? Wow? Yeah, guys should take care of their kids too. Yes, they should, absolutely. It's not all on the female, it's not only on the mom. Guys should also take time with their kids, change diapers, feed, feed.

Speaker 1

Yes.

Speaker 2

Take them out for the shopping, take them out to the park, all the stuff that yeah.

Speaker 2

Parents take him out for the shopping take him out to the park, all the stuff that every yeah, parents should do that equally with them. Read to them at night, tuck them into bed, yep, exactly, uh, okay, we're going back to that. Cook dinner. Yeah, you know, let her blow steam. Actually, she was the only one making money for the family. You know, salary man do that all the time. Why can't she do it? She's you know, she's a professional double standard.

Speaker 1

We were talking about this with that's one of our music groups talking about the. Uh, the expectations and standards are different, mm-hmm.

Speaker 2

Oh man. Yeah, nah, okay, let's finish. I think music-related, we don't have much except we're complaining about what's going on. But no, we talked about Nina Mia and possible hintings of a comeback this year. Possible, possible.

Speaker 1

Nina, mia style this would be the year. This would be the year. Yeah, 25th anniversary. Even the guys from snowman.

Speaker 2

They were saying koji said like we thought it was last, gonna be last year or this year, and nino's like, well, the fact dice came, it's like a concert are you gonna do, I know, and being him a little extra concert live, live.

Speaker 1

I think he was jealous. Nobody said he'd go dance for our they should do june mj.

Speaker 2

please take snowman as your backup dance. Don't do the no, not the juniors, but Snowman. Have Snowman, be your backup dancers. Have Mimi, have Mimmy. Do the police have like your last backup dancers for the last show.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, have them in there please, that will be awesome june will be like no, it's gotta be the juniors. It's gonna be some juniors, you know, but it will be awesome though well, you know now that they're their own thing.

Speaker 1

I don't know what they do speaking of their own.

Speaker 2

Omg, canty's, canty's song, his whole everything yes.

Speaker 1

Drastic makeover yes, he's just all over the place.

Speaker 2

We gotta talk about this song. We can. We'll talk about this song in one of my singles, but OMG, in one of what?

Speaker 1

In one of the singles, the music episode yeah, no, I know, I did not hear what I said. I'm seeing things, I'm hearing things. Okay, I think we're done you need.

Speaker 2
