The electrifying energy of ONE OK ROCK's DETOX Tour at MGM Fenway left us breathless, sore, and completely fulfilled—exactly what a transformative rock concert should do. The Japanese rock powerhouse has steadily conquered American venues, advancing from intimate clubs to increasingly larger theaters with each tour, testament to their growing US fanbase.

What sets One OK Rock apart from other international acts is their commitment to reaching fans everywhere. Rather than limiting themselves to predictable coastal city stops, they consistently venture throughout the American heartland, connecting with audiences that many overseas bands overlook. This dedication has built them a devoted following that packed MGM Fenway with passionate fans.

The production was nothing short of spectacular. Geometric laser patterns above the general admission floor, offering completely different visual experiences depending on your vantage point. Massive video screens captured every emotional nuance as vocalist Taka poured his heart into each song, bassist Ryota kept the rhythm with drummer Tomo, who entered his characteristic trance-like state (complete with infectious smiles throughout), and guitarist Toru delivered '80s-worthy shredding solos.

Beyond the technical brilliance was a powerful message. Having lived in America for ten years, Taka spoke movingly about how music transcends cultural and language barriers, bringing people together during difficult times. He connected struggles faced in both America and Japan, reminding us that shared challenges can unite rather than divide us. This sentiment perfectly encapsulated why ONE OK ROCK resonates so deeply—they create music that communicates universal emotions regardless of the listener's native tongue.

The setlist masterfully balanced tracks from their 11th album DETOX with fan favorites, creating an emotional journey. Australian opener Stand Atlantic perfectly complemented the headliners with their own high-energy performance, having previously toured with OONE OK ROCK.

Whether you're a longtime follower or discovering them for the first time, ONE OK ROCK delivers a concert experience that demands your complete physical and emotional investment but returns it tenfold through connection, catharsis, and community. Follow us for more concert experiences and subscribe to catch our future musical adventures!

Welcome to Musical X

Speaker 1

Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Musical X, the way I always say, another. And yet again, here we are, inundating you with random music and information and news, because that's what we do, yeah, so anyways, I'm Sarah, with me is dj panic. Welcome to music elixir well, I think, didn't I say that friends, oh no I got sidetracked by family friends what are the romans?

Speaker 2

whatever, I don't know, friends romans countrymen yeah, yeah lend us your ears.

Speaker 1

Country people, how's that?

Speaker 2

yes, thank you. Thank you, thank you for listening to this episode. Yeah, enjoy. Yeah, let's okay. Today, if yes, oh, my god, I can't talk, we're gonna talk about.

Speaker 1

Yes, go ahead. Concert experience. Yay that we had this month of june, this month of june, yeah, that's 2025, because who knows when you're going to be listening to this episode?

Speaker 2

yeah, because if you're a brand new listening to music elixir, if you're going to be listening to us in the future, you will not know which concert, because who knows this? This, this actual group, this actual band, come to boston. I know it's been two years, but they like to come to boston and we enjoy them so much when they come to boston yes, didn't we?

One OK Rock's US Tour Success

Speaker 1

we did a concert experience of the last one too. Yes, we did so. That's why it's good that you know which one what year.

Speaker 2

It is because we've done more than one, exactly exactly so we are going to do our banter and chatter and laughter and on one, okay, rock yes, so one okay rock is doing a major us tour, which of course they're a band who will just just a major us tour. They go a lot of you know states here in the united states. They do canada. They're like they like to go to toronto and montreal. Oh my god, they're like not afraid to hit whatever spot in the us, like I don't know how they do that.

Speaker 2

I don't know if it's the production company or the management company that they're using, because they're not afraid. They have, of course, california, you know, but I mean they have hit a lot of cities in the East Coast you know Well, and throughout the Midwest too.

Speaker 1

I mean, they go to a I'm not sure about this particular tour, but I know they've been to like Oklahoma. Definitely they go to Texas. It's not like some of the other Japanese groups that say touring the US and they go to New York and they go to Chicago and they go to LA and that's the US tour.

Speaker 2

Yeah, there's like they're not Seattle, it's like the company that they use, are not afraid. Yeah, like this. They want to hit as many cities that we can.

Speaker 1

Can you?

Speaker 2

make that possible and it's like that's why they're so popular in the us, because they just hit cities.

Speaker 1

They just hit a lot of places.

Speaker 2

We had to go to new york to see them true, we did that, what I did, though you you went with me and family I think 2016. Yes or 2005? No, not 2005. 2015, 2015, 2015 I think it was a 2015 tour okay because we had extra tickets and we invite you girls yep and then and the first time I saw him in boston was when we went on my birthday.

Speaker 2

Yes, and that was 2019 yeah, and then family and I have gone to New York because we went to the Terminal 5 one and then we went to one at Mansfield in 2016. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1

That was part of a festival thing, right, yeah, they were opening for Sauce.

Speaker 2

Five Seconds of Summer. We were the only ones wearing the 1OK Rock merch. I am so proud of that because we're like sticking like like sore thumbs sticking out Like who are these people Like? Are they in the right concert? And I'm like, yes, we are in the right concert, we're here for 1OK Rock.

Speaker 1

Stick it. I would have been too, because I could not even name a song from, to be honest, four seconds of summer, no, five seconds of summer. Well, there you go. I don't even know their name and then the other one.

Speaker 2

We were gonna see them opening for lincoln park. Yes, oh, that was a very tragic.

Speaker 1

That was year yes, a very sad, sad year, because that I mean it was like the day we were down there it happened. It got announced they weren't doing it.

Speaker 2

We were like oh man it was gonna be like the concert of for us of the year, because Linkin Park we love Linkin Park, yes, and then One Ok Rock two major bands that we love in one roof.

Speaker 1

I know that would have been like.

Speaker 2

But yeah, it was. It was devastating to a lot of fans, a lot, a lot of fans.

Speaker 1

Oh yes, and including the band yes.

Speaker 2

Yeah, a lot, a lot of fans, oh, yes, in including the band. Yes, yeah, taka was also destroyed because you know, chester was one of his influences, yeah, inspirations. So yeah, oh, besides that, we are so grateful and we are so like lucky to have one. Okay, rock, come to Boston when they can, oh, yeah, and they have come to Massachusetts in different parts of Massachusetts, like I said, mansfield, of course, a lot of times in Boston. I know Connecticut is not, but I mean still New England, yeah, and it's you know, it's close enough, it counts Exactly.

Speaker 2

It's kind of the same distance as going to Boston, at least where they were going to play.

Speaker 1

Well, and what's good with Boston is they've been different venues. Like upgrading their venues, oh my God.

Speaker 2

From the Paradise to the House of Blues, to the MGM Fenway, which it was hot.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it was.

Speaker 2

It was oh my.

Speaker 1

God. But it's like it is so funny, right, because the Paradise is, it's iconic.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

It's definitely, you know, got a lot of history and whatnot, but it's dinky. Yes, it's small, it's insanely crazy, right. And then you got House of Blues. It's a little bit bigger still on the smaller side, but, like you know, you got three floors and it's a room, but like now MGM theater, it's like it's big. It's not gigantic, but it's a good.

Speaker 2

It's a good decent size. It was good. It's still good decent size.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, it was good it's. It's a still a decent size for audience and band. Yeah, like they're still close to the people, but they get more of the people in you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2

We have gone for all the concerts in the venue and I have no complaint.

Speaker 1

No, I've had anywhere you sit is good. We have sat in the middle which everybody thinks.

Speaker 2

Always get the middle seats. Yes, they're really good seats, but then we have sat from the side seats and that was really good.

Speaker 1

Yeah, for this time we were floor seats yeah, we were on, not even seats, not floor, we were just general admission. We were standing, we were with the crowd.

Speaker 2

It was really good, a total different experience. Right Because whoa the production for this tour. Oh my God, they have put in there even the kitchen sink. It was like amazing, but yeah.

MGM Fenway: Venue Upgrade

Speaker 1

I was going to say, yeah, amazing, go ahead. Well, just, they had the huge video screens, they had the lasers, they had them the lasers blew me away. I was just like whoa yeah, it was wild, it was wild, like wow, they're like.

Speaker 2

It felt like they were right over our heads, like you can almost touch them. You can't.

Speaker 1

But I mean, it was just like wow, they're so close, it was so weird too, right, because it was sort of like a sci-fi movie, like it was a cage over us. Yeah, it was a net holding us in. It was kind of crazy. I know that sounds a little weird, mm-hmm, but yeah, it was sort of like they were holding us in, but it was also just so crazy geometric looking from underneath. Yeah, because we had friends who were there also. We met up with them after the show and their experience of the laser light show was very different. It was different Because they were up in seats and anyone who's been to a show with laser lights, yeah, you know they they go up and down across the audience and you get blinded for a second and you and it's sort of more just lines of color sort of going around, right when you're on the floor, underneath it.

Speaker 1

It's actually a pattern and it's a completely different view. It's a show, it's like a visual wonder, basically. But our friends who are up there are like yeah, god, you know the lasers shining in your eyes. It was distracting and we were like oh no, we were just like. No, we were, it was different.

Speaker 2

In this net of laser our, it was a different experience definitely yeah and it was wild. It was wild everything. Yeah, the production was like wow, a tier, like so good, so good, and of course, the group, ah hello, yeah, perfect, they're awesome, perfect, oh my god, taka's voice taka I don't know how can this man do this?

Speaker 2

every time they go on tour he always gives his all. And how come you're not like I? I'm sure he has been practicing a lot, because I do remember on previous tours where he's like my voice is shot or my, or I'm losing my voice. We're like taka, please take care of yourself. But for I mean, he's giving his all. It's just like what in some songs he's like really screaming it out for a long period of time that we're like, oh my god, how can he do this? How can he do this?

Speaker 1

well, if you follow them on instagram, which?

Speaker 1

I know you do you can see he actually he, he works with a lot of different people. He, he meets up and talks with a lot of people. Yep, and I think that what he's really been sort of focusing on is sort of getting ideas and information and tips from people of like, how do you do this, how do you maintain this? How do you keep this going? Because, like he is, he is very passionate, yes, about his music and about one okay, rock and his fellow bandmates. Like you can just tell he really feels it and like, in the music you can hear the sometimes the pressure gets to him a little yeah but then you can also hear the joy and the fulfillment he gets from it, so like, yeah, they're just incredible.

Speaker 1

And you get all of that in the music when they're performing live. Yes, you know they just. Oh my god, this drummer, tomo, like hello, have you ever seen anyone smile so much? Right, so much. He is just happy the whole time, tomok, it gets into a trance when he is behind those drums.

Speaker 2

Yes, there's an audience out there and he's supposedly performing, but I think he just becomes the drums and he's just like I don't know. He gets involved in his own drums, gets involved with, you know, Ryota's beats, because Ryota and him are, like you know, bass player and drummers. If they're not besties, it doesn't work Exactly.

Speaker 2

You know, and those two are so, like you know, so intertwined, you know, but they have so much in common, it's like they're, but they have so much in common, it's like their fathers, they, they're married, they have that personal, like you know togetherness, but also when it comes to music, they also have that togetherness yeah it just works so beautifully.

Speaker 2

So he's involved with getting the beat done. You have his buddy over there backing him up with the face, you know, and they're both like uh, I love their relationship on stage. It's so awesome. But he, like you said, he's always smiling and then when he starts, big smile. And then he will like at the end of each song he's like I don't know he gets this song. He's like I don't know he gets this moment that he's like oh, I don't know.

Speaker 1

I'm like what are you doing?

Speaker 2

Tomo, You're making me cry. What is that? He looks like. He's like in pain. I'm like is he okay? I'm like, Tomo, are you okay?

Speaker 1

Tomo. Well, one of our friends was saying like the thing with drummers is the endorphins that they release because they're they're being so active, and he's like like he's just bursting with endorphins and feeling good and joy and it's like you can see it oh my god yeah, he is. He is one with the drums. Yeah, he's in this little bubble of just getting it done yes it's amazing with that being said, you were not at this concert.

Speaker 2

This was the terminal five. An incident happened it within the crowd oh, okay and taka got to see the problem and he said to the band stop, tomo is so like in a trance or just playing the drums. That taka was like tomo, tomo, stop, stop, like. But he like getting off of that trance. He's like like what happened you know, but he didn't know because he was just so you can tell.

Speaker 1

He closes his eyes and he just goes off yeah, no, he's just, he's in a trance in the moment.

Speaker 2

He's it's just you're just seeing somebody in a trance playing drums. It's crazy. So yeah, seeing him do that, it's just so amazing, and I love that this venue has the the big screens yes you're able to see their face, facial expressions, a lot better, even though we were good where we were at.

Speaker 2

But we can really see how passionate, how emotional they're out there for each of song. You know what the mood, whatever the song emotional they're out there for each song. You know what the mood, whatever the song is, they change their mood to that song. Oh, it's amazing.

Speaker 1

Yeah, well, that's what I was thinking. I was like we don't get to see it like that intensely and that close usually. So, yeah, it was wild. And then, of course, we can't forget Toru and the shredding guitar. Well, we were talking about ryota and and just because I love their relationship so much, but I don't want shredding there's one song that it was like complete 80s shredding he was going off.

Speaker 2

We're like yes, go boy, my man now yeah, he's another one who's married and a father. You know, the other single here is mr zaka living the life but you know he's he's busy trying to keep the band you know going yeah even though everybody does their part, of course, um, but anyways, that show this show currently right, not right now detox, detox, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. So we got the vip experience.

Speaker 2

So that's why we were on in the floor general admission with that we were able to get big dibs on the merch, which a lot of people were lining up to get close to the band and were like been there, done that.

Speaker 1

I'm going to get my merch first.

Speaker 2

Again. In our previous concert experience we went for merch first and that's like we're going for merch again first, because we're not missing out on that. And guess what? Also, our friends didn't go for merch first and they miss out on the on the their favorite t-shirt yeah, the shirt they really wanted was sold out, so yeah and we all. It's so funny because we all got the same t-shirt and I'm like did we all get the same t-shirt? Wow, and it. And it turns out to be that, yeah, it was the most popular.

Speaker 1

Because, after the concert walking around Boston, Boston. Yeah, we saw people everywhere, Everywhere wearing that shirt.

Band Performance & Stage Presence

Speaker 2

I was like, wow, you were in the show too. You were in the show too.

Speaker 1

I didn't wear my shirt, but I had the tote bag, which had the same image as the shirt.

Speaker 2

Yes, yes, I did try a shirt so let's talk about merch I got the detox t-shirt, the red one, I'm gonna call it red.

Speaker 1

It was a different red it was sort, yeah, like a neonish kind of well, would you call it crimson maybe?

Speaker 2

yes, I want to say that it was like a crimson and it's a black tote bag. Uh, so we got the t-shirt with that, which of course, has the tour merch on the back. Yeah, I did like the blue one with the. I did too with the flag, yeah so I'm like, maybe later on I'll get one.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I don't know well, it's funny because our friend wound up getting that because the the red one was sold out. Yeah, and she was like I'm a little disappointed. And I was like, no, I'm feeling bad, I didn't buy both shirts.

Speaker 2

Yeah, because I really like them, yeah, but then they had this long sleeve shirt that I do like. I bought that one.

Speaker 2

I did like the blue with the pink, yeah, and the white and I was like see, I like I always like that combination, that color color combination, and it's long sleeve black, and I was like, see, I like I always like that combination, that color color combination, and it's long sleeve black, and I'm like which I'm gonna be using when it gets colder here in massachusetts. And, uh, let's say, they got, we got pins.

Speaker 1

We bought the pins.

Speaker 2

Uh, of course, being vip, we got a signed poster yep, so that's cool. What else did we get? I think that's what I got. There was more stuff there too yeah, I think that's all there was two other t-shirts and one other shirt. It was in white. They had another shirt in white and, uh, the hoodie, of course, the pullover, um, and the tote bag. I mentioned that already yep, did they have? Patches? I don't remember, I don't think so no right okay, that's all I can remember right now, because I think I already had like things in mind what I wanted to get yeah, no bag always number one.

Speaker 2

One because we're bag ladies as well. We love our bags. You know, family's like another tote bag and I'm like yeah yeah, it's, I could.

Speaker 1

I could go around with matching t-shirt, tote bag combinations for like three, four months solid without a break.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I have tote bags that have been around for uh, they're probably 10 years old now oh yeah, yeah, I've got some older than that actually, yeah always get the tote bag.

Speaker 2

If they have it, get the tote bag, you will not be disappointed. No, no, no, no. And there's some older, cooler ones and better than others and you're like, wow, this is really awesome. So, anyways, uh, so we did our merch. You know now that we're like, oh, kind of like that other shirt. But we had a budget, of course, always Of course, but how about, like the crowd?

Speaker 1

People were. Some people were a little like pushy. Yeah, but it's also, you know, 1OK Rock's like rock. Right and rock crowds are a little more aggressive.

Speaker 2

You know they're a little more like we got more angst. Yeah, when you go to a rock concert, you have more angst and that's where you it's so pent up and you're so excited.

Speaker 1

The adrenaline is probably as high as uh tomo so some people are like what they're just freaking out, yeah, but I mean like, um, yeah, some people are shoved, you know, really want to get up there, yeah well, you know, because everybody you want to see your favorites, you want to see the people up on stage, but like it's, you know, if you're not right in front first, yep, you don't get to tell other people to move or to physically move other people.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Like that's just rude. And that's, and that's what we saw a couple of people do. Yeah, for the most part, though, the crowd was good. Yeah, people were just. You know you, you get so into the music Sometimes you lose sight of your surroundings, right? So, like we had people who were headbanging and jumping so hard that they were jumping into us, right? So it wasn't, it wasn't on purpose, it wasn't intentional, you know aggression of any sort.

Speaker 1

It was just like I wanted, like, watch them and see what they're doing and exactly so I'm bobbing my head like my days of headbanging, and you know thinking that like I need to be.

Speaker 2

No, I'm done with that. I want to see I want to watch the band.

Speaker 1

I want to see what they're doing. Yes, because part of their show is interpreting their music. Yes, and so you want to. You want to see that and experience that and being part of that, right. So so the crowd was good in that there was a lot of energy and people were excited and people were cheering and yelling and having a good time, and every concert you go to you're gonna have those people that you go yeah why are you here?

Speaker 2

you're just exactly you're annoying everyone there was one guy. He kept moving from one side to the other with a drink and I'm like what are you doing? Enjoy the show.

Speaker 1

What you gotta move from scientists, what's wrong well and looking at everybody in the crowd instead of watching the show, exactly. Yeah, that's a little to me. That's suspect sometimes like what are you?

Speaker 2

yeah, what are you casing exactly? And I'm like can you sit still? Can you please just stand there, just enjoy the show? What are you doing? Yeah, there were some people that were annoying me. Because of that. It's like what is it? And, um, I don't know too many cameras, I'm on our face too yeah I kind of was like okay, whatevs, that's yeah.

Speaker 1

Like sometimes.

Speaker 2

I feel I want to bring a bar stool and just stand on it towards the back so I can see the show, and then they can see me, hello.

Speaker 1

We actually we could see pretty well.

Speaker 2

Yeah, when we were stationed, it was good. I'm not going to say where, because I don't want people to be standing there, I know.

Speaker 1

But we were the first ones to do it, oh yes, and then suddenly people were like oh, that's a good idea. Yeah, they started copying us.

Speaker 2

Yes, as always. As always when we do things because we're our innovators, yes, you know, listen up, like we invented it.

Speaker 1

It was more just because I was.

Speaker 1

I was like lazy and was like yeah, I don't just well, we're gonna, we're like we're gonna be standing here for the whole time, yeah, yeah so let's brace ourselves over here that's like when we were at house of blues and we were like, let's get right up near that little um oh my goodness, they have side bar thing yeah, it's, but it's not quite a bar, but it's big enough to hold your drink. Yeah, it's wide enough to hold your drink, right, so it's literally a bar that you can lean on. But but we were also protecting the shorter people that it was in our crew, that's true, we had a couple of shorties.

Speaker 1

I mean.

Speaker 2

Sarah is a shortie, but this time shardy there were people shorter, shorter than her, and we were barricading the shorties from the bulldozers behind us. It was just like cheeky. They like want to come in. I'm like no, this is not a space. There's people in front of us no, get out. She's like no, get out. I remember pushing her back like oh no, that was insane. I'm like and what are you doing over here? You know there's not enough people anyway. Why are you over here now anyways?

Speaker 1

but yeah, no, we're all about the comfort. We're all about the comfort when it's standing but on this one we finally go spot and then, of course, people were following, you know and I was gonna say we should give a quick shout out to the opening band. Yes, stand atlantic, they were.

Speaker 1

They were a really good opener for these guys great energy and I guess, um, the lead singer was saying, when they were in europe, maybe a couple years ago, touring, that they were, they opened for them over there. So really, yeah, so they've worked together before, which is really cool, yeah, so I think that's what she was saying was like they were with them a couple years ago in europe. So that's awesome yeah, which speaks for them as a band as well. That obviously one okay rock was like you guys are cool, we like your vibe, we like music you do.

Speaker 2

Let's work together again yeah, hey, which they have fans from theirs there too, because they were dancing there was. I remember the singer saying, oh, this is an oldie one, and an older one and you can tell which ones were fans, because they're like they're like oh, they're their fans awesome. This is great.

Speaker 1

This is great yep, so so definitely, because that's a, that's a hard job being the opening band oh yeah place to be yes, check them out.

Speaker 2

They are on spotify. They're really good brand, Really really good band. If you see that name, go for it. Go check them out. I think they're.

Speaker 1

Australian.

Speaker 2

Yes, okay, yeah, yes.

Speaker 1

So an Aussie band.

Speaker 2

They were loud, they were so sarcastic. We love that.

Speaker 1

We love the sarcastic. The Aussie bands are definitely their own kind of oh my goodness their attitude.

Merch Hunt & VIP Experience

Speaker 2

We're like yeah, you're like you fit here. You definitely you sound more Bostonian than I say oh man, but that's awesome.

Speaker 1

Yes, but yeah. So this was just really what I liked, too was it wasn't quite, but it was very close to being like an album tour, like they didn't do just Detox Right, they did a lot of it, oh my God yes and so, and of course that's the point of touring, is you're?

Speaker 1

promoting your new music. But like they had a good balance. It was a good focus on the new album right along with older songs, but like yeah, so it was really kind of cool. I just liked the whole, the whole vibe of it and I think that was purposeful. They wanted there was a specific uh message. They were trying to convey a specific emotion they were rolling with like.

Speaker 2

Like each tour, they have a you know a message to bring every time they're touring, and this one was very important because of what's happening worldwide.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you know.

Speaker 2

Ataka did mention that he's been living in the US for the past 10 years, so he's been seeing a lot of what's going on in the us and you know when you, wherever you live, you feel the struggles of what's going on within the country.

Speaker 2

he even mentioned in his speech in japanese that also the struggles that are happening in the us are also happening in japan yeah so there's like there was still there was a lot, a lot of similarities and that he he feels what's going on and he feels the pain and you know that things, that he's hoping that things will be changed. You know his message was very positive and, like you, know that was something he said too.

Speaker 1

Was that the reason he does music and the reason that music is important? Yes, is because it it conveys a message, but it brings us together yes as people and, you know, as neighbors.

Speaker 1

So, like he's again just such a passionate guy they all are but like sometimes I'm like taka just feels everything all at once. Yes, and that was a really good thing about his speech, was that? It's very important. I think that he pointed out that, yes, things are are not great here right now, but they're not great a lot of places and they haven't been great a lot of places just as long or longer. You know, right, like the world currently is a struggle everywhere, you know yes, and it.

Speaker 1

I think it always has been, it always will be. Social media adds to that because suddenly everything's just right there.

Speaker 2

Yeah, make things like, oh my god, like this is. Yeah, make things like oh my God.

Speaker 1

Make things a little bit worse? Yeah, I think so too, Everything like everything is just so intense.

Speaker 1

He feels it, but he feels that music gives him a way to express release, brings us together, and that's an important message that we talk about all the time, too is music unifies us. You know, you don't have to understand the words to know what people are feeling and what they're trying to express. So it was just incredible. Incredible, like it's an experience going to see them. Yes, it's a happening. Like it's an experience going to see them. Yes, it's a happening. It's a thing that you're going to walk away from feeling all kinds of like, not just because you were dancing and singing and jumping. You're going to be, like, tired from all the thinking you did.

Concert Crowd Dynamics

Speaker 2

You released those endorphins too, because I mean, we came out exhausted. We're like oh wow, like d like oh, wow, yeah, you're just like I need to like we're so we came out so tired we're walking like zombies, like oh, oh, like sluggish, and like I need water, like my feet hurt.

Speaker 2

Everything hurts everything's sore it's like you're there the concert, you don't think about your feet, nothing, yeah, no, because you're like oh my god, my song is up. Oh my god, look at you know. Look at toru. Oh my god, look at tomo. Look at that guy, look at all that it's like, oh, you know, it's like you're so involved with what's going on, what they're projecting and showing, and the singing and your favorite song and the crowd around you, and then when you get out of there, it's like OMG, dang.

Speaker 1

I didn't even went to the mosque.

Speaker 2

There was no mosque, but I felt like I was in one. Oh my God, yeah, no, it's that that endorphin high you're like all euphoric, yeah, and then you leave and you come down and you're like, and you're like exactly, ow ow, I didn't know I had a muscle there. Oh my god, why does it? You know?

Speaker 1

yeah, yeah, you're. You're just, you're feeling so good.

Speaker 2

You dance through the pain and then later you're like oh you're feeling so good, you dance through the pain, and then later you're like, oh, I should have probably stopped Right, that was too much dancing.

Speaker 1

I shouldn't have kept going.

Speaker 2

Next time I'm going to bring, like more ice bags to put around my legs, just bring that. I did brought the Tylenol and theol and the apple, you know all that stuff, because I knew it was gonna be like.

Speaker 1

Well, I had to hit the ice machine.

Speaker 2

Oh my god, oh my goodness they were like I need a shower. I prefer a tub where I can just melt in. Well, I'll take a shower and just try to like relax. Oh, but yeah, it was no, it was amazing it was, that was, and our friends enjoyed it.

Speaker 1

Yes, from their, their perch. Yes, up in the stands with their seats.

Speaker 2

Yeah, we're kind of jealous now well, when I tried to do the vip, when I'm like with vip, I thought maybe you could also get seats. But no, the thing was like you get VIP and it's gonna be general admission floor, that's it, wow. And I'm like oh okay, fine, fine, anything for Taka, anything special anything for the group, not just only Taka fine you know well, the last time that we did VIP we you know we had pictures taken with the, with the band oh my god, that was so cool, that was so cool, that was so cool, so cool, so cool.

Speaker 2

You know, just handshake each member yeah it was amazing and everybody with big smiles, you know like they even got me. Oh my god, so anyways anything else?

Speaker 1

no, just they're. They're still touring right, they're still.

Speaker 2

I think, uh, let's see today's june 9th. I saw a recap of minneapolis.

Speaker 1

I think, oh, yep yeah, they did that, so they have more tour days yeah, I think, though, it's only going through mid-june, so they may be done by the time we release this. Okay, but people who were there know that it was awesome. Those who missed out make sure you get to the next if you're close to whatever city, go for it.

Speaker 2

Go for it next album next tour.

Speaker 1

You should definitely check it out and go, that's so cool.

Speaker 2

So, yeah, one, okay, we just we were at that tour for their 11th album, detox, which that's another.

Speaker 1

I was gonna say that that's the surprising your favorite song, the one we we talked about a few episodes ago.

Speaker 2

They didn't play it no, there was. I posted it. I'm like I hope you play parties over and they were like all the fans. I'm like, oh my god, me too. And then another person. They're like I'm so sad that they didn't play it and I'm like I know but, maybe next time, you know, but you know that wouldn't be such oh my god, that's why.

Supporting Act: Stand Atlantic

Speaker 1

That's why, when I was saying it was so almost like an album tour, but not because they didn't play everything, but yeah that one was it's, so that one is different for the mood that they were going for this tour right, so it's like it wouldn't go with the message that they were trying.

Speaker 2

That they're. You know that they're get. You know the message they're giving out or projecting out for this tour, so I get that yep.

Speaker 1

So I actually and I was gonna say, you know, just as we talk about other songs from it, you know what I really liked it and it's so different for them was the song this can't be us. I was like they'd never play that live on tour. Um, well, maybe they will, you know, when they're a little older, but but I really liked that song. It's very emotional and haunting and, yeah, sort of like the polar opposite of the emotion that parties over it yes, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1

Yes, but it's like it's so it was. It's such a beautiful song, yes. So again, even if you didn't get to see the tour, check out the album. It's very, yeah, like emotional. You're gonna.

Speaker 2

You're gonna go through several different feelings with this, oh yeah and uh, there's a few songs in there that I'm like taka who hurt you. Yeah, oh, my goodness, my heart, my heart what geez yeah yeah, so this sushi. This sushi did something and you, your heart got broken. Sushi is his dog oh my god, he's so adorable. I like the reel that is like new member of one on game rock and here comes sushi.

Speaker 1

Oh my god, so cute yep, he came to join them part way through. So so cute, or maybe he was with them the whole time. I don't know, hey, and those bosses we saw, those were their bosses. Yes, they were the bosses. Later on I was like, oh my god, it is their bosses.

Speaker 2

What? Oh my god, we, they were not in them, I guess no, no, they were already inside the venue. Which, by the way, the show behind the scenes of Fenway, mgm Fenway they have amazing game rooms for them.

Speaker 1

They were playing games.

Speaker 2

They had the hockey game, the air. Oh, air hockey, air hockey. They had this like another game with a pin or something. They had some really cool games. They were like entertaining there. So the green room there is impressive yes. With a big sign that says Boston.

Speaker 1

And I'm like good.

Speaker 2

Don't forget Boston. And Tomo likes Boston Because he's like I love Boston, I love.

Speaker 1

Wisconsin and I love Dunkin', love Wisconsin, I love Wisconsin. I think everybody just likes saying Boston, boston, it's a little easier than New York. New York is kind of hard, boston, boston.

Speaker 2

Definitely Boston, Boston, Boston.

Detox Album & Tour Message

Speaker 1

Speaker 1

Hey, it's a good mid-size venue. Yes, it's sort of the small side, but not a little club. It's comfortable.

Speaker 2

The cool thing about this like everybody in the audience are able to see the artist, except that lady from that one, waza.

Speaker 1

For some reason she had an issue with but anyway, she wanted to look at the TV because they actually have TV screens, not big screens, but they do have little TV screens around, so you can see.

Speaker 2

So if you have to go to the bathroom for some reason, at least you're walking and seeing the screen?

Speaker 1

Yeah, you can see, you're not missing anything, so you're good.

Speaker 2

You're good, but I mean, come on.

Speaker 1

But yeah, the seats are good. It's a good location. There's lots of restaurants around Lots of good food, oh yeah.
