As summer heat peaks, Sarah and DJ Panic seek refuge in the air-conditioned studio to share their discoveries of perfect summer anthems from emerging global artists. This musical journey begins with BGYO's sultry track "All These Ladies," a smooth disco-infused single with playful lyrics and an irresistible bass line that screams summertime cocktails and warm nights.

We then explore ONE OR EIGHT's passionate "365," which captivates with its intense devotion and powerful harmonies. Where BGYO celebrates playing the field, ONE OR EIGHT delivers a heartfelt declaration of unwavering commitment, creating the perfect soundtrack for summer romance.

XLOV emerges as the standout discovery with their EP "I ONE," particularly the crossover hit "1&Only." The track masterfully blends English lyrics with Latin phrases, clearly positioning itself for global appeal. We can't help but classify it as a "blackout song" – so captivating you lose yourself completely in its rhythm. The EP's versatility continues with the sweet "1 of LOV" and attitude-heavy "BIZNESS", showcasing the group's impressive range.

The episode concludes with ONE CLICK STRAIGHT's nostalgic "otw", which transports listeners to the alternative rock and Britpop era of decades past. With influences ranging from The Cure to The Beatles, this track evokes wistful summer days and college radio memories while remaining fresh and relevant.

What connects these diverse songs is their exceptional production quality and commercial potential. These artists may not yet have massive global recognition, but their understanding of what makes international hits suggests bigger things on the horizon. Step beyond mainstream releases and discover these perfect additions to your summer playlist before everyone else catches on.

Welcome and Disney Nostalgia

Speaker 1

Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir with me.

Speaker 2

Sarah and.

Speaker 1

Miss DJ Panic.

Speaker 2

I don't know, I've been like singing everything today. Hey, because I'm special.

Speaker 1

Well, no, I was singing everything earlier too. I'm not just singing about you, I'm singing about everything.

Speaker 2

Well, the last time you also gave me a fanfare, so I'm just thinking it's all me, me, me, me.

Speaker 1

People are going to get the wrong or the right idea about you. Why?

Speaker 2

not Everybody loves me. There's this character, this disney. Oh my, was it disney? Oh the good the. Is it the good?

Speaker 1

life of zach and cody. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. London tipped, london tipped in. Oh my god, I was gonna say I bet it's london right, love her always when she's like london me, just like me, me, me.

Speaker 1

You know what's funny if you think about that was um ashley tisdale, right, was the other girl on that show, the blonde, yeah yeah, who was in the high school musical, yeah. So when she went on to play that character, she was like doing london tipton yeah what was her character's name? Oh, I forgot it was like the name of a dog or something like a, a breed of dog uh, jeez, sharpay, sharpay, sharpay, I know you.

Speaker 2

I'm like what is her name? Right?

Speaker 1

isn't that a dog breed? It is okay, it's the wrinkly dog.

Speaker 2

That's why I'm like why is she called Sharpay?

Speaker 1

That makes it even better. It's me.

Speaker 2

I don't know, her parents were mean, I think.

Speaker 1

But I also can't remember. I think that the High School Musical came out after Suite Life. Oh yeah, right, yeah. So she was like copying Brendanda song's london tipton character. Yeah, exactly, I mean, I'm not saying like no, but it was just. It was kind of funny the progression yeah of uh of them.

Speaker 2

But anyways, we're not here to talk it all started because I went me and then that show just popped. I just remember london dipton.

Speaker 1

She's awesome I always, I know, when she was learning to drive the prindle. Yes, he's like the gear shift, she's like that. You mean the prindle.

Speaker 2

So I call it that all the time it's a Brindle? She was awesome, She'll do something, she's perfect. She's like yay me. I'm like oh my God.

Speaker 1

If you're not a Disney kid, you won't know what we're talking about. But if you are a Disney kid, you'll understand the references, you'll understand.

Speaker 2

Get all these references. Wow, it's been years, I know right, years. They're all grown-ups now we're all grown-ups now.

Speaker 1

Yes, whether or not we act like it isn't different.

Summer Heat Woes and Coping

Speaker 2

It's fun, it's funny and we're gonna have fun exactly today we are gonna be discussing singles. Hey, hey music some new music that came out and we're gonna date stamp.

Speaker 1

This is june 21st. Yes, happy solstice. Yes, I was gonna say something else, but it's unrelated to the singles, so it doesn't matter. Well, it does matter, it's important. Okay, our boy, august D, got out of the military.

Speaker 2

Oh my God, yes, today I was looking around for pictures and I'm like where are the pictures?

Speaker 1

He's keeping it low-key.

Speaker 2

I see I'm like, oh, dispatch was nowhere around for this one, because dispatch was there for all of them. Like everything, yeah, all of them like everything, yeah, all of them all of. Yeah, that's true, our sugar is like uh-uh, uh, mama, I don't want to know this.

Speaker 1

no, no, no, no, no I don't need a circus going on around me. He, he did post a, a quick letter to everybody. I don't know if we're going to talk about that later in a rant and ramblings or something, but he did at least you know, acknowledge that. But yes, today's solstice out well, actually it was sort of like last night into today, because the the 20th was the at like 10 42 was the marking of the exact moment of the longest day, blah, blah, blah. So from now on, the days are going to get shorter, it's going to get darker, earlier and earlier every day.

Speaker 1

That's fine. I don't want to be hot, I know. Only it's going to get hotter. That's the problem.

Speaker 2

That's the problem, I know.

Speaker 1

It's so bad already and it's only Yep.

Speaker 2

Well, it's almost the end of June but still, Yesterday family had for dinner ice cream.

Speaker 1

Yeah, no, it was.

Speaker 2

Although it was.

Speaker 1

There was a cool breeze yesterday.

Speaker 2

In the morning it was like really nice. I opened all the windows. I'm like, yeah, yeah. And then the day started to progress and I'm like, oh my God, it's getting hot Going on. Where's the breeze? This is awful.

Speaker 1

You'll hear Panic, and, and I talk we hate the heat.

Speaker 2

I am not the only one because I had to go to the studio a little bit earlier and there was another, another show finishing and actually one of those programmers said I am not leaving this. Today is the first and last day. You'll see me out until Monday, and maybe I'll stay home Monday because I don't want to be out in the heat.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

They're not going out of their place.

Speaker 1

Going to turn on the AC and hibernate, right.

Speaker 2

It's like I want to hibernate in my house. And then when we went to this supermarket to get ice cream, when we were heading out, he was coming in with the cart and I'm like he's like, hey, we actually interact each other by the ice cream aisle. He sees what I'm carrying. He's like I am going for that. And then I said slim pickings, man, slim picking.

Speaker 2

He's like oh man, because it's on sale. Right, it was, haagen-dazs was on sale. So I'm like, yeah, I got lucky, I got my favorite, I got my favorite flavors. He's like, oh, okay, I'll grab what they have, if not, I'll just get something else. But you know, yeah, he was getting ready, he was I'm gonna be eating ice cream all weekend. Uh, you know, it's true, like you don't want to cook. It's too damn hot. No, even if you have air conditioning here, it's like why you want to cook and well, because then you're just making the air conditioner work harder, trying to combat the heat.

Speaker 2

Yeah yeah, that's why you eat ice cream or salads, depending on who you are well, I was running around closing all the shades.

Speaker 1

Yeah, on the side of the house that was getting the sun until this afternoon and then I'll close all those shades. But because I like the natural light, yeah, but with the sun beating in the windows no doomed I had to move my two spider planes out of there.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, because they'll fry. I was looking at them. I'm like, oh my god, what's going on? Junior, you're looking like I don't know. And then be? I was looking at them and I'm like, oh my God, what's going on? Junior, you're looking like I don't know. And then Bebe was looking the same way and I'm like, but Rachel, rachel Green, it's in her glory. You've seen how tall that plant has gotten yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2

And she's giving me babies and I was like, oh, you like this weather? Okay, I'm just going to keep you here, I'm going to bring your sisters out of there and put them in the kitchen. And yeah, I can see that Junior and Bebe are getting more like more up eating like cooling off. I was like I am so sorry, my boy, my girl.

Speaker 1

They need indirect sunlight, right, they need sunlight, but not cooking in your front window.

Speaker 2

No, I just noticed. I'm like this is too hot for them. So All right, I know. So we're talking about music, we talk about ice cream and plants.

Speaker 1

We talk. I know we're like we're going to do singles, but before that we're just going to do some free, free form. You know what do you call that? Free thinking, creative, you know whatever? Yes, when you just well, it's like you just whatever comes into your mind you talk about, we do that a lot actually. Yes, we do. It's not like it's new.

Speaker 2

We call it a warm up. We're warming up. There you go, we are warming up. So this one we didn't prepare how many we're going to talk about.

Speaker 1

This is just going to be a free-for-all.

BGYO's "All These Ladies" Review

Speaker 2

Yeah, bgyo, oh yeah, bgyo. Also, drop something new. We'll just have to search for someone else. Okay, so why don't we start with BGYOs, all these ladies? So we're going to start that one. All right, are you ready?

Speaker 1

Yes, I am, oh yeah, got a good beat, good bass.

Speaker 2

Oh, he's starting with that bass heavy, nice vocals. Picking up Rosé yeah, that's Rosé's a drink.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I know, got me picking up up rosé but they could be talking about a girl because they're damn. This is a like sort of mellow disco. Yep, very laid back, but it's got that bass, it's got the beat, the cowbell. Yeah, in background there we have the funkiness, the higher pitched vocals. They're not as falsetto as some people get. This is definitely a summer vibe song. That guitar.

Speaker 2

It's a summer vibe song. Yeah, definitely More than friends, and usually in the summer you get more romance than in the february you know well, and it's interesting.

Speaker 1

This is all in english. Yes, it is oh, yeah, the lyrics are very saucy these lyrics are saucy, they're very uh double entendre going on here, oh yeah all these ladies talk about the waitress. Great, all these ladies need dessert, all these ladies. He's got a sweet waitress, so he doesn't need dessert. Okay, girl. They're saying baby, please, you got me on my knees. Well, it's good. At least they're sort of under the spell of all these ladies, right?

Speaker 2

right, that's crazy. Oh, got me losing track of time. What?

Speaker 1

uh, but they can't help but fall in love every time. Wait, casey tracy. There was like four girls there, three, three or four.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they named like what, four or five girls, right, Somebody?

Speaker 1

named four or five girls. I heard Casey, Tracy, Daisy.

Speaker 2

Somebody's handling way too many girls, mm-mm.

Speaker 1

Playa, playa oh, that background, the harmonies, and then the drop, oh, dropped the beat. Well, you know the the cover, or not necessarily cover art, but the uh banner art for the song the way they're all dressed like they're definitely in the club. Yeah, checking out all the ladies oh yeah, wow, what to do?

Speaker 1

oh my god, wow, wow, that was sweet right but also a little, you know, risque, a little right suggestive, but yeah, it was. That was so smooth, yes, so smooth what they're doing. I had to look up We've talked about BGYO before we have Almost four years ago, yes.

Speaker 2

Yes, it's been a long time.

Speaker 1

And remember we talked about. They were so sweet and cute in this little story of their music. Like this is totally. Yeah, you could tell four years have gone by, they've matured. Yeah, wow, I like that, though. That's a good, just like hanging out on the patio with a cocktail. Yeah, chilling out, chatting with your friends.

Speaker 2

Very nice, very smooth. It's definitely summer vibes, like I was saying before. It gets very smooth, but it's definitely summer vibes, like I was saying before it gets get it. You know, it's the sound, the sound you want to listen to. The summer guys are out there checking out the girls. You know, because you're going to the beach.

Speaker 1

Yes, definitely yeah, well, it's party vibes, it's light, it's light, it's not. It's not like the heavy disco we've heard from some of the other artists. No, yeah, this is just sort is, just sort of a. Yeah, I don't know, you cruise, you can cruise through the park.

Speaker 2

You can cruise through that one.

Speaker 1

Or walk along the beach. Yeah, something just really laid back, yeah, wow.

Speaker 2

I like that, though, yes me too.

Speaker 1

The vocals. They were definitely bringing it with that. Wow, oh my gosh, that was so good.

Speaker 2

I was just vibing over here like oh yeah, you can put it in your playlist for the summer. You still have a playlist, absolutely Alright. So let's see who am I going to go?

Speaker 1

next. Now we're probably going to have something heavy, right, Whoa what is this?

Speaker 2

Well, we'll see. We'll see. What do I have here?

Speaker 1

Well, I know, when we were trying to think of who we would talk about, we were both bummed out because we were so excited. Monsta X has new stuff, but it's like remixes.

ONE OR 8's "365" Analysis

Speaker 2

I know it's remixes. Yeah, we were like we can't really talk about that because we've talked about that. It's not new, it's just saying in Japanese that's the only difference on this song we still love the music, but you've already heard us talk about it. You can find the episodes there is a group called one or eight and they drop a song called 365, so we're gonna talk about I want to listen to that one and talk about it okay, all right, sounds good here we go oh I thought it was going to be sinister, but that's sweet voice at the beginning.

Speaker 1

Oh that bass, yeah it's it sounded so sweet, starting just some nice dreamy vocal and then boom.

Speaker 2

I know oh, that's the beats yeah it's like somebody trying to knock the door down. Hey, another one that has English lyrics.

Speaker 1

Oh, nice transition.

Speaker 2

Sounds like she has him under a spell because he's like.

Speaker 1

This doesn't happen all the time. You have to be mine. Well, now that I've met you, you have to be mine. And he's talking every day, all year.

Speaker 2

This person that's the 365 right, they want you all the time oh, yeah, I like that.

Speaker 1

Oh, now, the bass is super heavy. This is to really shake you up. So what's interesting about this one? It's it's sort of light, but a little more driven than the first song we listened to, so it's still got sort of a summer feel to it, but but like the nighttime, yeah this is more sultry.

Speaker 2

Oh wow, this is. This is a person who is just enchanted and intoxicated by this person because they just only want this person as per the other one. They're like, hey, the ladies are driving me crazy. This is just like, yeah, you're the one that I just want to be with only right.

Speaker 1

Oh, the other one's like I don't know who to choose, and this one is I've chosen you, yeah wow, yeah, this, this yeah these are really good vocals too enchanted, just cannot get enough. Look at this break, oh oh, I don't know where we'll go, but I want to be together. Yeah, like he just keeps talking about whatever happens, yeah, together oh wow.

Speaker 2

They just want to be with you. It doesn't matter what you're doing, doesn't matter where they're going. Where they're going, it could be to the corner. Just sit there. I want to be with you oh, listen to the angsty one in the background we got the diva in the background going ah, giving those high notes and they get yes and oh I really like how their voices work together on oh yeah, these harmonies are really good. Oh, you've got the violins with it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah the intense that's. That's the passion.

Speaker 2

Violin is passion definitely always and just and then oh I like that that was nice, that was so nice oh so this is one or eight.

Speaker 1

They're out of japan. Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 2

They're good. Yeah, they're really good. This sounds really good, ooh, okay, now moving on. We had talked about this group before and now they have dropped a new song, I think actually an EP. Hold on, let me check, let me check.

Speaker 1

Which group.

Speaker 2

I'll let you know. I'll let you know it's an EP. They dropped an EP on Juneune 13th. Oh, my god, friday 13th. It's uh x love. Okay, we have talked about one of their songs and, um, I'll tell you exactly. Let me get to the. Yeah, we talked about their first ep. Uh, i'ma be, oh then, we just did the whole thing because we're like oh, my god this song gets better.

Speaker 1

Like on each mix, we went cray cray we went cray cray on that one that was probably one of the first times where we were like we're gonna listen to everything because we're like we need to listen to more of this and it's like, oh my god.

Speaker 2

So they finally dropped and post another EP that is called I won. Either I won or one one, because now they're using the eye as a one. Anyways, get my sassiness, but it's kind of like the same thing. Actually, they have three songs on this and then the instrumentals, but apparently one and only is the leader track for this ep. So we're gonna. We're gonna listen to that one and maybe listen to the other two and see how it feels just like we did last time, wait.

Speaker 1

So where are you changing up who we're gonna?

Speaker 2

listen to. We kind of didn't have like an agenda for this. Yeah, no, that's true, but we were mentioning other groups before, but now we're.

Speaker 1

I know we can still talk about them. Oh, yeah, no, no, it's just so funny, because now it's more like oh wait, this one's a new one from someone we know, someone we've heard of.

Speaker 2

Yeah, you talked about two, three other groups and now we're like we have done none of them. Okay, well, you know, just giving love to like these debuted groups. You know they only have so much music, you know. And what we like is, when we find a debuted group, we like to see them evolve and see what they have and kind of, we do have our faves the scores that we always give them a lot of attention, okay, but we want to give love to these debuted ones where they just trying to get fans right.

Speaker 1

Well, I was gonna say because, because one or eight only just came out like debuted last year.

Speaker 2

Yeah they're just, they're newbies so they're babies. Yeah, definitely baby group they're not even toddlers yet.

Speaker 1

They're just one, they're just, they're newbies.

Speaker 2

They're babies. Yeah, definitely they're a baby group. They're not even toddlers yet. They're just one. It's just what they're going to be. Did they just try? No, when is their debut? There's not a year, a year yet, right?

Speaker 1

I don't think it's been quite a year.

X Love's "One and Only" Breakdown

Speaker 2

Okay, all right. X Love, all right. So it's going to be X Love, and the song is One and Only we seem to have a theme going here. It's a synchronicity, all right, good beat right off the Girl. I'm just like going by the new songs, these 30 songs that I actually dropped this year, jeez.

Speaker 1

This is all English too. Oh my God.

Speaker 2

What.

Speaker 1

Trying to be your one and only Call me when you're feeling lonely. Now, this guy is like I only devote to you. Oh my God, what. Trying to be your one and only.

Speaker 2

Call me when you're feeling lonely. Now, this guy is like I only devote to you, but when you're ready.

Speaker 1

Yeah, just call me when you're ready.

Speaker 2

Like. The other one is like no, I don't want to be with you, no matter what. What are you doing? This guy is like when you're ready, you know, I'll give you all.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we had the players, the clingy ones, now we got the. I'm leaving it all up to you, girl, exactly, attitude.

Speaker 2

Hey, papi, chula what.

Speaker 1

Mamacita, eh, margaritas Chica. Wow, well, it's got that little sort of Latin yeah, I don't want nobody else. Ah, that little sort of Latin, yeah, I don't want nobody else. I like the way they did that this single knows what market it wants.

Speaker 2

It wants not only the Latinas, but just the Western market. They want the whole North America, central America, south America, the Caribbean. They won everybody on this side, wow.

Speaker 1

This is another, though just good summer beats. A good cruising around with the top down on the car. You know this is so hot. Oh wow, that little 90s voice.

Speaker 2

I know what you like. Oh, wow, that little 90s voice. I know what you like. Oh, my God, the background voices. Oh, that's so sweet.

Speaker 1

Well, there's some like nice smoky, smooth voices here.

Speaker 2

Whoever's in the background with that out of tune. Whatever they're doing is hot yeah.

Speaker 1

Well, I was thinking that the guy semi-rapping there, that smooth, smoky voice, yes, yes, actually, all their voices are smooth and silky and tug at the right places in your heart. Yeah, showing.

Speaker 2

Yeah, can we say, this is almost a Blackout song.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 2

I try not to. I try not to.

Speaker 1

I try not to. I mean because it starts right away. Those beats just draw you in, yeah, and you're just like you know, you got the little shoulder move and the little head bob and you're like oh yeah.

Speaker 2

And then you start, the whole body pulse and you're like, oh yeah, you get into this dancing trance with it, and then those vocals to start speaking to you because just to hit those feels and how you feel and the movement, oh yes, this is a blackout song. Yeah, there's something about the the tone of the voices.

Speaker 1

They're just that right pitch to sort of do the earworm thing. Yeah, you like you're just drawn into it and you find yourself singing, even though you're like I know three words, but I'm gonna sing, I'm one and only yeah you know what I mean?

Speaker 2

yeah, wow I liked that a lot. Uh, the papi chulo threw me. I was like what, no way? And then the spanish words. I'm like oh yeah, I see what you're doing, what I know what market you want yeah, they're throwing their net wide oh yeah, they're taking this whole western side. They're like we want all y'all, we love y'all. We got the song for you, listen to us. Okay, now I gotta listen to the next one. I love these, this group's vocals Amazing. This is what happened to us.

Speaker 1

Last time, when we were listening to I'm a B, we were like whoa.

Speaker 2

The production of the music and the vocals, the production with the vocals, with the arrangement. They're a gold mine. Please produce them well, because wow.

Speaker 1

Well, this is a perfect breakthrough summer song, if this can get some airplay going over here.

Speaker 2

Oh yes, Because it's perfect.

Speaker 1

It is perfect.

Speaker 2

It's perfect for commercial radio. Yeah, actually, I think so far all three perfect for commercial radio.

Speaker 1

Yeah, actually, I think so far all three of these have been yes, they could totally play to the Western market. Yes, I'm not just talking America, I'm talking like global market. Yeah, so, wow, uh-huh, they're all that good. Oh, yeah, and they're all, yeah, just perfect for summer. These have all been really like just laid back. You know, summer feel hanging out at night, hanging out during the day. I, I don't know. These have just been awesome. Yes, wow, wow. Well, and you know well, bgyo is not so newbie, but like yeah still newer groups.

Speaker 1

You know what I mean.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 1

Some good producers Striking while it's hot.

Speaker 2

You want me to go next one for this EP.

Speaker 1

Sure, why not?

Speaker 2

Let's see what kind of change it will be.

Speaker 1

Although we better do those other groups. We mentioned first People.

Speaker 2

People. I'm giving Sarah a face because I really want to okay.

Speaker 1

You know what I'll listen to them on my own leisure. The other ones of this album? No, we can do this. No, no, well then, I gotta do some editing, I know that's why she's like lady, I'm the one who edits this nobody will know what I'm talking about, you don't? Know, who we're editing, because I'm going to edit it out. She is good we're getting hooked on some other music.

Speaker 1

That's the problem. Good, okay, well, you know what's funny too, right? The other artists we talked about possibly listening to earlier are all very good, but these all seem to be in the same like vibe same right.

Speaker 2

Why don't we do this?

Speaker 2

so the other artists that we talked about they already have a large reputation right, yeah, they're already established, not that a bgy doesn't bgy doesn't have a large reputation, but at least for for this side, not as much what I have seen, right? So let's keep the category for this group. They don't have as much reputation in the Western world, and then the other ones, since they're so globally popular, we can put it for another episode, all right. Okay, we'll do that that works, because I think to me it's not fair. I don't know.

Speaker 1

To talk about the already established artists right.

Speaker 2

Well, there's nothing wrong with it.

Speaker 1

It's just, it's good to take these up-and-coming groups yeah, and, you know, spread the word about them. Oh, yeah, because the music's really good. Yeah, really good. So I'm fine with it. No, it's, it's all good, I understand. It was just funny because we started on one trajectory and then we totally flailed off from it. And what's funny, though, is because I had listened to this song again in the car. Yeah, with headphones. It's a completely different song. Oh, yeah, completely.

Speaker 2

It hits you certain parts of your body that you didn't even know it would hit.

Speaker 1

Because I was like, oh, like, oh. Hey, these guys, you know, familiar with them, it's a completely different song different when you're driving versus with your headphones on.

Speaker 2

Yes, all right, moving on to the uh song, number two in x loves. I won and that will be one of love one of love.

Speaker 1

Okay, I'm not looking at the information okay are you ready?

Speaker 2

yes, I am sorry, I was playing the wrong song this is a nice gentle intro.

Speaker 1

It has like a dreamy feel.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they're sort of whispery. I'm on the one with like the slow dance hall kind of beats, still with a tropical feel.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's similar tempo to the first song, but a different vibe, like a different feel, and it's English again. Yeah, it's English again. Aw, even during storms, I'll take you to the sky, okay.

Speaker 2

Very sweet. This is a sweet song. You know, the beats are the production kind of sultry.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

But the melody and the lyrics are more sweet. Oh, oh, I feel melty, I know.

Speaker 1

You know, you feel like all melty, like this is the little like hearts in your eyes while you're listening watching them.

Speaker 2

I don't know. It's like a song that you feel safe with somebody.

Speaker 1

Oh, that's what I mean about. Like you get hard eyes because they're they're so sweet and gentle and kind towards you, I'll let you go.

Speaker 2

Yeah, let it flow, okay. So even though they're apart, I mean you know they're together, but if I let you go, you're still gonna be with me. Yeah, because they're like you're still in my heart, yeah oh, wow so it doesn't matter if we're still together or not it's still you, I'll still love you together, and if we're not, oh my god, really wow, let's just hope it's not like in a sort of you know, creeper stalker way. Like geez, I'll let you go, but I'll still always love you no, it's too sweet.

Speaker 1

No, it's such a sweet. Yeah, it is so sweet, oh man so different yeah, like I said, like the, the beat was very similar, but the whole overall feel of it was a little more subdued, a little more.

Speaker 2

It was sweet, it was kind it was soft yeah safe.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't that draw you in blackout like what am I what? This was like a very careful, thoughtful song, yeah wow, that was so sweet.

Speaker 2

Okay, guys, this is another one. The other one is business business.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I saw that. I was like how's that gonna to fit Business? Well, we'll just have to see what happens, right?

Speaker 2

See, this is what happens when we listen to them.

Speaker 1

At least them.

One Click Straight's "OTW" Discussion

Speaker 2

We're like okay, because it's going to be totally different. All right, are you ready? I'm ready, all right, okay, we're no sweet, no more. No, this is a bit more greedy sounds.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, this is greedy.

Speaker 2

Hey, hello, the rap line oh yeah this is definitely. Oh, this attitude.

Speaker 1

Attitude yeah.

Speaker 2

This is attitude, not all English Majority, though.

Speaker 1

I love the business.

Speaker 2

What's up, but your wish list? Hell up in my business exactly oh, this is, sir. Stop being nosy. You know it's my business.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it's sort of almost like a diss track. This is a lot about dance. Yeah, better know where you stand. Yes, walk away somebody likes shopping.

Speaker 2

If I like it, I'll buy. They got so much money.

Speaker 1

Forget it, you know, I just sort of like you know, get out of my face. Yep, I ain't got time for you they're not here to woo anybody they're just to let you know to don't mess with them.

Speaker 2

Don't mess with them, don't even try to learn about them. They do whatever they want. They get the money, they get the power. You know, like you know, move over yeah, yeah, no, that was definitely some some good, completely different from the yeah, that had like so much old school like rap yeah, that was definitely a huge departure from the other two songs.

Speaker 1

I know.

Speaker 2

The other ones were like oh my god, look at the vibes and the dancing and whatever this is you could kind of tell, though, from the fact that it's business.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you know what I mean business me, get off my business.

Speaker 2

They got something to say about something and it's you know yeah, how are we with our time, miss stira? Can we do one more?

Speaker 1

oh yeah, we can squeeze one more. Okay, for sure, all right, all right. So, oh my god, check out x love.

Speaker 2

I mean we completely do enjoy this group. I mean from like the last ep, i'ma be that we were like, oh my god. And then this one, yes, we're sold, we're sold with x love.

Speaker 1

We really enjoy this group and we want to hear more, we want to see more and I was gonna say like it's, it's been so, it's them, but different each time. Just you know, yeah, very good, very good group. So they are.

Speaker 2

Keep an eye on them is there a song that you would like to uh put on this chat? Put on the? Put on this chat. Oh my god, I'm talking like I'm at work I don't.

Speaker 1

Was there anybody else sort of on the newer side that has something?

Speaker 2

that's what I'm trying to see, if I can find something like. I know those bands oh, yeah, there's. I don't know if we did or not. Let me see if it came out. Oh, I think we only did one song, but they have dropped a new song since the last time we talked about. No, we have not talked about this one. It's from our friends One Click Straight. Oh, okay, they dropped OTW. Okay, we have talked about Telefono and they dropped this one on June 6th.

Speaker 1

Oh, okay, pretty recent. Yeah, no, we did not.

Speaker 2

We have not talked about it, no so this is another group that we want people to check out. They're so good, they're so good as a band and they're oh my God, please, please check them out. So we're going to be and also we interviewed them. Yes, we did, please check that interview. That was so much fun, they were so cool, they are so cool, anyways. So, um, yeah, like I was saying, they just drop a song on June 6th called OTW, and the name of the group is One Click Street. Are you ready, miss Sarah?

Speaker 1

I am All right, but immediately I've got the Cure going through my mind. What did you say? The Cure, the Cure. Yeah, this is a nice light beat too. Another very summer feeling song. They reminded me of light beat too, another very summer-feeling song.

Speaker 2

They reminded me of another group, but this is not a British band.

Speaker 1

The sweet, oh my God, lemonheads. What the beats or the vocals?

Speaker 2

Yeah there's just, yeah, the beats and just the guitars Do you remember the Lemonheads?

Speaker 1

Yeah, I do.

Speaker 2

There's one song that reminds me a bit of it, but yeah, that's.

Speaker 1

There's a very retro feel about it yes, 80s, 90s, just bands the like alternative pop, brit pop kind of feel. Yeah, this is like college band music.

Speaker 2

This is the music we went to see our buddies play. Yeah, this is like oh, so-and-so's playing blah blah in somebody's house.

Speaker 1

I'm not real sure what they're saying, but it's just a calming sound. It's very relaxing.

Speaker 2

Of course you know their production is so good. Oh, we heard a cello Got some strings going on. That just reminds me kind of like the Beatles-esque, you know.

Speaker 1

I liked that.

Speaker 2

That guitar.

Speaker 1

No, when they were all in, they all go. Whoo, that's a very Cure thing to do too. Yeah, how about this guitar solo? Yeah, wow, and the talking in the background yeah what I love about these guys? They it always takes me back to my youth. It's nostalgic.

Speaker 2

It's nostalgic for the both of us. That's why we love them so much. Yeah, because their songs resonate to. You know, with us some, some level that we really don't know. Understand the lyrics definitely, but I don't know the melody and just the way they sing which is like yeah and that's that.

Speaker 1

It's not quite a harmonica, it's that yeah, I know what you're talking about. I can't remember the name of the thing. It's like the little piano thing that you but you blow on it through. Yeah, it's like a wing. It's a wing instrument with with keys.

Speaker 2

Yeah, it's like the little piano thing that you but you blow on it through. Yeah, it's like a wing, it's a wing instrument with with keys. Yeah, that is not because an accordion is kind of like a wing instrument, but you don't blow on it.

Speaker 1

You squeeze it, you squeeze the box but, yeah, yeah, yeah but you know what I'm talking about I never remember the name of that darn thing.

Speaker 2

You see, I know the instrument. I seen it being played. I don't know Wind keyboard. I don't know.

Speaker 1

Blow keyboard. Who was? There was a group that, oh my God, in the 80s a lot, even Cindy Lauper. The Hooters Is that? Who used it?

Speaker 2

I don't know, but I remember Cindy Lauper, and one or many of her songs do have it Well, I think for some reason, the Hooters is what sticks out in my head.

Speaker 1

They had all the zombies, oh my God, and we danced. That's the one that had. I don't know, but they used that too, that sound. So that's what makes it like listen to a cindy. We're throwing all these bands, but but one click straight. Yeah, they have such a good like control over the, the sounds of brit college pop right, you know what I mean. Like the alternative, yeah, alternative rock, rock, yeah I, they just everything, Because Sego was the first one. We did right, Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2

It was a little more. Yeah, it was a little heavier, it was band, band, Just like, got a bit of grunge, you know, but it was Brit, you know, like that Brit pop but also grungy yeah.

Speaker 1

I love Sego. I love Sego, right, so they just. I love Siga Right, so they just, like I said, just have this control over so many different sounds. I'm just happy they're doing music.

Speaker 2

Remember the last time we were talking about it or I heard about them like wow, it's going to be now over over a year ago. And then when they came out with Siga and I'm like oh, my goodness, I haven't. It's been years since they dropped something and I was so happy to see them and I'm like sorry we gotta talk about this because it's been many years and their first album was really good and I'm back. I'm happy that they're back on doing music and please give these guys a chance. They're so good, they're so good yes, they are, you know they're.

Speaker 1

It's a family and friends and cousins and his fans, you know and and I don't know, it's just yeah, they're awesome and that so fit in with the feel of everything else we were talking about. Just it. It's a good summer, light, airy feeling. It just makes you feel good, it does. It reminds you of sunshine and outdoors and just enjoying yourself.

Speaker 2

We're having this feeling and it's probably completely something else.

Speaker 1

I know right when we're like what is.

Speaker 2

Siga about and he's like, well, siga's about a bully. I'm like oh my. God, and I'm over here like this is an empowering song that you can like yeah, and he's like, well, say it's about a bully. I'm like, oh man, but we love it.

Speaker 1

We love it because we well, you know, because when you're a bully, you feel empowered.

Speaker 2

You know, I mean it all okay, if you want, yeah, if you want to flip it that way, we'll go for that. So I would like to know what is this about? Oh, you know what we're gonna do. I'll do take this clip and just send it over to them.

Speaker 2

We'll just put it up and be like maybe that we'll get a reply from one of the guys uh, what is otw about? And uh, just, you know, keep in touch with them because, uh, this is another group that I am following. You know, they relatively new, let's say. I mean, they've been around for quite so many years, but it's hard for a band it's so hard for a band to just get popular, you know, um, but yeah, we're supporting them.

Speaker 2

And uh, yeah, see if I can reach out and get an answer on what OTW means. All right, let's end it there, my friend. Yeah, definitely Okay.
