Have you ever felt completely spellbound by a performer who knows exactly how to hold your heart in their hands? That's precisely what happened when we traveled four hours across four states to witness Jin's solo concert at Newark's Prudential Center.
Jin transformed the massive arena into what felt like an intimate variety show, crafting a performance that was uniquely his own. From the moment he appeared as a silhouette walking slowly down the catwalk to his explosive start with "Running Wild," he commanded every eye in the venue. His sparkly denim outfit made him look like "the Milky Way" personified – a fitting image for a star of his magnitude.
What struck us most was how Jin structured the show – alternating between high-energy performances and interactive game segments where he playfully teased the audience about our Korean pronunciation. The games weren't just entertaining; they were Jin's clever way of creating breathing room between demanding vocal performances while keeping the audience thoroughly engaged. His sassy comments and playful attitude had the entire arena laughing and screaming for more.
The emotional centerpiece came when Jin sat at the piano, bringing complete silence to the arena with soul-stirring renditions of "Abyss" and other ballads. When he performed "The Astronaut" while lying on the stage floor, the connection was so intense it felt like he was singing directly to each person there. That's the magic of Jin – his ability to make 10,000 people feel like they're having a one-on-one experience with him.
Join us for this detailed account of three days with Jin that left us emotional, exhilarated, and completely in awe of his talents. Between shows, we navigated merchandise lines, rainstorms, and the quest for the elusive Jin ramen, creating memories that will last far beyond the final notes. Share your own Jin concert experiences with us, and don't forget to subscribe for more music adventures!

OK ASIA
Introduction to Jin's Concert Experience
Speaker 1Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir with me, sarah, and Should I start over? No, actually it's me, sarah Shee, and Miss DJ Panic.
Speaker 2I was going to think of another name, but I'm like no.
Speaker 1DJin Panic.
Speaker 2No, that's too sweet. I was thinking of something more evil, but that's okay.
Speaker 1like panic is not evil, you know, actually panic is more of an alert kind of thing. Well, I gave a little hint as to what we're going to talk about today that didn't really sound like a hint, but that's okay, degen panic was not all right. How about gin gin, gin, gin, gin, gin gin.
Speaker 1Oh, ginger loves gin there you go if anybody knows that slogan, then now you know we're gonna talk about our technically three days. Oh my God. Yes, two official days, yes, hanging out with Jen in Newark, new Jersey, and then one day in Amsterdam via the theaters in our local area.
Speaker 2We attended the two dates in Newark and then attended the amsterdam show yes, that was cool it was. It was cute. Should we lead up to our when we got to newark or the?
Speaker 1adventure. Well, for anyone who doesn't know, it's like a four hour drive to Newark for us.
Speaker 2From Northampton.
Speaker 1Yeah, Northampton Mass.
Speaker 2From Northampton.
Speaker 1So we got on the road. We were going to be checking into a hotel, so we had to sort of time it to get there around check-in time and still give ourselves space to get to the venue which we've never been to, right.
Speaker 2But just so everybody knows it's a-hour drive but we had to cross two states to get to new jersey?
Speaker 1yes, we did, because we had to go through connecticut, through new york, yep, and then get to new jersey small piece in new york, but still we had yeah but still we crossed two states for gin well, we you could say we went through four because we had to start out in Massachusetts, go through Connecticut, new York and end up in New Jersey.
Speaker 2OK.
Speaker 1A four state run for us. Yeah, and it was well, it was funny. While we were in the hotel we just threw on the TV to whatever was on. It happened to be South Park. Yeah, and we're both trying to connect to the Internet. That's free at the hotel. Yeah, and we're having trouble and I'm like you know it's the government and like two minutes later, the episode you know main story comes into play and they're like the government has interrupted the internet. Yeah, it's like what? The? And we had two coincidences like that Bizarre. But we'll talk about the other one after. That was weird.
Speaker 2This is a South Park episode, a very old South Park episode, that people were having problems getting internet.
Speaker 1They're like you got internet.
Speaker 2Do you have internet? We need internet. And then we're over here in our hotel room like we can't get into the internet, Like what the heck?
Speaker 1Yeah, that was freaky, it was very weird weird, and so it had nothing to do with gin, but it was just sort of our, you know, because needed to get like the tickets accessible.
Speaker 2I had them in, you know, my little wallet she was ready but want to make sure that everything was.
Speaker 1But I was like yeah, we just want to check everything, make sure where we needed to go, and I'm like I need internet it was funny. Outside the hotel was not a problem. In the hotel was the problem yeah but yeah, so we got ourselves all prepared. We didn't have any of our gin gear yet, so no, so we were wearing our bts gear yeah, actually.
Speaker 2No, this was um the merch that you got it oh wait, that's right.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, we did have. We both wore our bts stuff down.
Speaker 2That's right, because that was a really cool shirt yes, that was um for people who follow her.
Speaker 1You may know her and if you don't, you should check it out. Hobie hartuu she's on Instagram, TikTok, probably everything actually.
Speaker 2We should give her a shout out. It's a really cool shirt.
Speaker 1Yeah, she has a little Etsy shop and she actually was hosting or co-hosting an event that was going on down in Newark for this show, so it was awesome. Yes, but yeah, she had these shirts with the Ransokjin. You know looked like a little video game thing going on and it was awesome and it had Newark on it. So yeah, we were twinsies in our little pink run episode tour t-shirts. People were liking it.
Speaker 2They're like we like your shirt. Oh yeah, and so many people. So, many had like fan made t-shirts for the event there were so many cool shirts and cute too.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, no, everybody was. Yeah, I forgot. We wore our BTS shirts down Right and then we changed into those shirts, so I forgot.
Speaker 2No, I have post-concert amnesia, it's like bad.
Speaker 1I'm like what day did we do what I don't even remember? And I'm like what day did we do what I don't even remember. So I was a little stressed at first because, like I said, never been to Newark Right, do not know the area at all. But it turned out it was very easy. We just hopped on whatever Route 21. It goes straight in, yes, right to the parking garage that I had found on the little maps, like across the street from the venue. So it was like super easy. Yes, right to the parking garage that I had found on on the little maps, like across the street from the venue. So it was like super easy. Yes, I was surprised. I mean heavy traffic, anyone who's been to Newark it's six lanes driving in on that 21. It's insane, it's crazy, I know.
Speaker 2Oh, and the manholes on the streets are even worse.
Speaker 1Yeah, Watch your underside your axle busting potholes down there. Oh my god, this is bad, is up here it is we're like what the hell?
Speaker 2it felt like we never left Massachusetts, like why in the world. That was bad, but, like you said, it was easy to get in yeah, I was surprised, the hotel we stayed was pretty much what what? 20 minutes away, yeah, and it was like a straight in and out. Yeah, just boom, boom.
Speaker 1We lucked out. That was really good, very much. Yes, we stayed outside the city because, after we secured tickets, checking the hotels around the area, holy moly like it was expensive. Well, you know, and when you're doing two days of a concert Exactly.
Speaker 2You don't want to spend 500 bucks a night to stay somewhere New York made money those two days.
Speaker 1They definitely made money.
Speaker 2Yeah, you know, because the other times that they make money is when people go see the New Jersey Devils, because that's actually their house. Well, when I mean their house, their arena, I know what you meant. Yeah, but people who do not follow hockey, yeah, yeah, or sports, yeah you know new jersey devils, it's a hockey team we're.
Speaker 1You know, family and I were hockey fans which I took some pictures because, you know, to show family, and they were like I'm like okay but yeah, so we had driven in sort of early-ish because we knew doors opened at 6.30, which thank you, prudential Center, for realizing that it was a very hot day. Yeah, that day actually, they even opened them at 6.
Speaker 2Remember, because it was so hot.
Speaker 1Yeah, the doors were technically at 6.30, which is still. The extra half hour makes a difference, because we always complain about this how venues wait into doors open an hour ahead and like half the crowd misses the first 10 minutes of the show.
Speaker 2It makes sense to do that when you have a sold out show. Right, this is sold. That there was like no empty seats? Nope not at all maybe a random one or two but I mean, I didn't see any no empty at all when it comes to the boys like jen and bts. Any bts member is a sold out, it's gonna be packed, so like hello, you should let us in at 5 30 even five.
Speaker 1I again, I don't understand.
Speaker 2It has to probably do with staffing and paying people to be there, you know it's unionized you know they're like no people are gonna be there, you gotta pay extra, which is that's?
Speaker 1that's the deal but it's weird because the staff are in fact already there. I know, so it you know. But anyway, yeah, like they're prepping and everything.
Speaker 2So, like what, let them come in a little bit extra so they can prep for you know and it's not like they. Everything is already like all right here, here, here, they don't even have to do cash, Everything is credit.
Speaker 1Yes, just tap your card or your phone, or however you have your stuff.
Speaker 2You're good to go, just give you the food, that's all.
Speaker 1The drink, the merchandise, yeah, whatever Exactly, or the merch, or the merch exactly, or the merch which is actually we. We tried going in earlyish because they they had um merch sales prior to the show happening. So you know early, early merch lines. So we were like, well, let's just see if we can go in.
Speaker 1no, the line was ridiculous because we got there oh, probably like 4, 45, 5 o'clock yeah we were a little on the later side because, again, we were trying to get to a hotel and then right navigate our way to the unknown. But uh, we were, uh, the line's too hot. So we were just standing there fanning ourselves, trying to find shade, trying to find a cool spot, oh my god, that was so hot.
Speaker 2It's like I was just dewy everywhere and uh.
Speaker 1But the good thing about that is big shout out and thank you to all the army who were out there giving out bracelets and stickers, photo cards. I mean we got so much stuff, people just coming up and like, hey, do you want a little goodie bag? Sure, why not, you know. So that was awesome. So you just got to sort of you know everybody's hanging out waiting, get to talking, chatting, seeing what's up, how far have you traveled? How far have you traveled? You know? I mean it was cool. And again, like you said, everybody complimenting our shirts. So again, thank you, hobie heart, though that was.
Speaker 2Yeah, I like all the freebies.
Speaker 1You know, like hey here's the bracelet, or here's this Somebody was giving.
Speaker 2They were doing like a random blind bag because they just put whatever in the bags. For some reason I got a whole card, photo card, like it looked like it was inside a cassette tape. Jewel case.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So that was cool yep, you got some good goodies too oh yeah keychains, photo cards temporary tattoos, yeah everything. Bracelet stickers, you name it and like, wow, this is so cool, you know yeah, um like you know. Yeah, like ribbons too.
Day One: Arriving at Prudential Center
Speaker 1Oh yeah, somebody had light stick straps. They made yes, I mean it was yeah. Yes, it was crazy.
Speaker 2Well, if you are following my Instagram, I took a picture of all the goodies that I received and displayed them out. There were more, I believe, but I don't know where I put them, so, but I think I got everything. I'm not sure.
Speaker 1I feel like I have more because I sent you a pic of mine to compare. I was like no, it looks about the same. The same little purple bags same little lacy things. I thought there was more, I don't know well, it just seemed like so much, because people just kept handing us stuff which I don't complain.
Speaker 2I love it, something I keep. Oh, this is from jen's show you know, yeah, yeah and I this one's from like like for the whole um, um, even for okay never mind we'll go that to that later, but we're still talking about that. But it's good to keep it like as a momentum oh, army gave me. You know, gave us this for this date and that's cool yeah yeah, it was awesome, yeah, it was so hot oh my god everybody was melting but surprisingly everybody was in good spirits.
Speaker 1Yes, you know a lot of times when it's hot and you're waiting in line, and you know I mean it was a huge crowd already waiting in line oh yeah, to get in the fact that everybody's just happy and laughing, having a good time, like noticing each other's shirts or costumes, like some brave people wearing those tuna suits, I was like that has got to be hot.
Speaker 2Goodness blazes wearing that synthetic foam or whatever it is, oh yeah I know I'm looking at them, I'm like no, that's okay, I I love you, but that dang, that's wow, I'll give you kudos, army I give you kudos cheese, but um other than that. Yeah, how could you do a bathroom with that? This is kind of hard to take off, I don't know I will you know.
Speaker 1It fits up over, I guess because the the bottom's open for your legs. So okay, it's, it's not like a pair of overalls or a jumper, it's, you know, a tube. Yeah, it's over you. So it still would be a little hard, I would think, because it's gonna ride up, you know your head's gonna. So, yeah, probably tough. But hey, like you said, kudos them. They were just going all out of course, it's the first night.
Speaker 2There's lines for everything even for the you know the gin ramen giveaway. Oh my god, that was crazy insane. The first night the lines were like should we even try? Should we go for it?
Speaker 1We're like you know what? We asked someone in line like how long have you been waiting? And they're like an hour. And then we went further down the line and one of the little people guiding you through the lines she's like just so you know, it's an hour wait from here, and we were like oh, okay, so we just grab some drinks and we're like let's get merch later. Yeah, we'll try after the show because, yeah, even the merch lines were insane, yeah, and it was just chaos.
Speaker 2I mean people were running everywhere yeah, because they're like which line should we go to which one? I think it's because they're like which one is shorter than the other?
Speaker 1one? Yeah, that could be, and it's like at this point.
Speaker 2you know, just relax yeah.
Speaker 1There were like two different photo stands that you could get your picture with Jen. There was a board to sign you know there were all kinds of, but everything had a line, lines, a line, a line. Worse than, probably, as as worse, the same as disney, yeah, worse, it was like crazy. But the chaos, the but, the the but, the energy was so high, oh yeah, the excitement you could just, oh, feel it in the air.
Speaker 2Everybody's just so excited to see him. Everybody, everybody, everybody, oh my goodness. So we just decided to just grab a couple of drinks and chill and then find our seats.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 2I don't know what you're going to talk about the Usher issue, whatever but we, you know, found our seats. They're really good seats. Thank you very much, sarah.
Speaker 1The venue's pretty good.
Speaker 2I love the staging. Very simple. It had you know that 8-bit kind of like cube.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, it looked like a video game, yeah.
Speaker 2And you know, two big screens, you know, and of course the bigger screen in the middle, just like a catwalk with the little.
Speaker 1I'm on mini stage yeah or micro stage, because it wasn't too big yeah, for him just to stand on a central point, to bring him out closer to everybody with the uh oh, my god, I had it in my head the buzzer yeah, it's like the big game show buzzer it was.
Speaker 2It's like a podium, like you do a speech it was like kind of that size and with a big ball on top. That yeah, or half moon, or half moon when I call it oh my goodness so we're just, you know listening to his music, you know they got things going on. You know, got the merch commercial. We're looking at that. Yeah, of course, they prompt you what to do with your army bomb, which was really cool, because that was one thing you were asking do we need to pair it with our phones?
Speaker 2yeah, or is it just turn on and just whatever? But it was just put it on concert mode and it was just gonna, you know, line you up no, that was awesome.
Speaker 1That was awesome because the whole like trying to be like I gotta put to put in my seat and whatever Nope it automatically did it.
Speaker 2On the prompt for the, at least for our renew, because we have the latest version and then the version before that. Yep, we're able to just concert mode and sync, yeah.
Speaker 1Which is cool? No, it's definitely. It's awesome. Yes, Because again the whole like trying to enter all your stuff and like hold it next to your phone and wait for it to blink. Yes, so now. This was awesome oh, another thing.
Speaker 2I know this venue. I don't know if in other venues have the same thing, but if you bring extra batteries, you cannot bring extra batteries, you have to have fresh ones in your army bomb. You cannot bring extra battery batteries because they were telling people no new one, no extra batteries, and they were like chuck them yeah, now that you can you, can you know they haven't sold them at the merch table?
Speaker 1I was gonna say yes, that's, that's how they get around it. They'll sell you more at the merch table if you just to let you know do not bring extra batteries.
Speaker 2I don't know if that, I don't know what, but at least for this venue they say no. So if you have already fresh batteries in your army bomb, that's great. If you forgot to put them in then you just want I understand that because uh we'll get on what happened, but um, but yeah, just bring know, have them already in your army, bomb so you don't have any issues of like security saying nope.
Speaker 1Yeah, because there's a few more concerts coming up. So, people, if you're going to Prudential in Newark for any other shows and you have whatever light stick, yeah, you won't be able to bring in extra batteries to make sure yours are fresh.
Speaker 2Yes, definitely. That's a hint. That's a good hint, you know. Oh, my goodness, I like the intro because lights went out and all you saw was army bombs and it's like quiet. We're just going well, because everybody.
Speaker 1It sort of took you by surprise, but he's prompt. It was eight o'clock and those lights went off. Oh yeah, no, no waiting for people to come to their seats find their way. No, it was like boom eight o'clock. He's starting.
Speaker 2It's just the way that it happens. Maybe just the runner lights, you know, on that catwalk was the only thing like semi-lit, so our boy doesn't, you know, trip or fall off the edge.
Speaker 1He knows where exactly you know.
Speaker 2And then you see this figure just walking in the middle of this catwalk. We're like, oh my.
Speaker 1God, oh, my God, it's him.
Speaker 2Oh my God, it's him. It's like yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, he was just a shadow moving along just walk in this.
Speaker 2We're like, oh my god, it's like I don't know. He's the astronaut. He's walking out from the dark. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 1Oh the energy, because everybody's like he's not saying anything he's just walking I know, yeah, walking on the catwalk, everybody's just happy to see him just walk in the dark.
Speaker 2Oh my goodness. And the moment that he gets to that podium and he's like let's start, Everything goes off. You know, he just hits on that. You know, semi-dome thing, Big button.
Speaker 1Oh, my God. Oh my God, I'm like oh, my God, oh my god, I'm like oh my god. I've been saying oh my god since he was walking.
Speaker 2Oh my god, oh my god, I lost it and started crying. That was my first cry. By the way, I cried three times on the first night, and that was my first cry because I was very happy I was like nope, not blurring my vision, I'm not crying, I want to see this.
Speaker 2I'm like I'm crying. I'm finally not gonna cry, but I'm like I'm crying. I'm crying. Just imagine I'm just crying for jen, to see jen. What happens if I ever see rm? I'll be like what? I probably faint and won't see anything that I get up. I'm like, oh yeah, did I miss RM? What happened, what?
Speaker 1happened. I know, because Jin's my boy. I know and you cried more than I did.
Speaker 2I've been seeing this boy since 2013. Well, I was so.
Speaker 1He's a man.
Speaker 1now I know, right, right, I grew up in front of my eyes I was just so like excited and you'd think I'd never seen him before. But it was different because this was just him, yeah, you know. So it was like, oh my god, wow, I I think I was just in shock because we could see him. Yes, like, see him, see him. The Jumbotrons helped for certain things, but we could see him and I was just like he's right there. Oh my God, I was just stunned, I was in shock, oh my God. But his energy, like from the get-go, because he starts with running wild, yeah, and it's just, he's running wild all over that stage and I loved that costume. Yeah, he was just sparkles, the bedazzled jeans and denim jacket.
Speaker 2I was just thinking that denim with all from head to toe. Yeah Sparkles, he was a Milky Way. Oh my goodness he was a. Milky Way. I was like, oh my God, look at you. You are the Milky Way, you look amazing, you are the galaxy, oh my God.
Speaker 1The universe. But, yeah, no, it was. It was so awesome and he had the little heart shirt under it, so, but yeah, no, it was so awesome.
Speaker 2And he had the little heart shirt under it, so you know it peaked out once more, Yep.
The Concert Begins: Jin Takes the Stage
Speaker 1That was a cute one. It was definitely. What was so great about this is it was so Jin, right. He had nobody to give him breaks, you know no one to come on and do a little whatever while he's off changing costumes and stuff. So he was presenting this like a game show, like a variety show. He would do stuff, he would talk to us, like that was his way of cooling down. I'll sit on a little bench and talk and make you guys play a game while I recompose myself, right. So it was really very well thought out.
Speaker 2It was cool because I mean he did, said you know, I have a special guest tonight and we're like oh my god, of course you're not. We're like is it one of the boys? Is it one of the boys? Well, I'm sure everybody's like who is it? Is it hobie? Is it rm jim sugar that day, you know. We're like, oh my goodness. And then he goes like New York Army. We're like, ah. And then inside of me I'm like, no, I wanted one of the boys. Okay, I'll take us.
Speaker 1Yay, but we're his special guest, I know. Okay, that makes it good.
Speaker 2I know I wanted somebody else. Anyway, thank you, jen. Thank you for making me feel special.
Speaker 1As we are.
Speaker 2We're the special guests.
Speaker 1Well, and that, like just everything. You know the way he joked and made fun of us because he's like, wow, you really can't sing Korean.
Speaker 2Oh, my goodness boy, the sass we're like.
Speaker 1Oh okay, mister, well he is but we all took it I know we're just like we were all happy to get attitude and sass from jinn we cheered for it.
Speaker 2I would have been like boy jeez, I paid money to see you. This is how you treat me. What? Give my money back. No, I'm lying. What was it? Uh, no, yeah, no, he. Yeah, I like the ass, I like the who watched the first game, because, of course, the first game was they will show up something on the Jumbotron and then Army had to mimic it but don't say anything. Was that the?
Speaker 1I thought it was the singing, that was the first one. It was the first one. I got concert amnesia. I got it all mixed up, but either way, we just played a lot of fun games with him.
Speaker 2I know Everything was fun, but yeah, what we like on the first night because they put up J-Hope.
Speaker 1And that's kind of hard, it's not really hard.
Speaker 2People were doing some things that J-Hope likes to do, like to mimic.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, his big over-the-top heart.
Speaker 2But the weird one was there was a guy lifting up his shirt and he's doing the body move like he's doing on his video j-hope and and jen is just looking at this guy like what, what? Yeah, what well. He kept looking at him like why is he lifting his shirt?
Speaker 1lifting his shirt, doing the body rolls and he even did the little killing it. Girl, yeah, hand sign, and jen's like huh, and but then he's mimicking. He didn't lift his shirt, but he did the he did a little body roll.
Speaker 2He's like what is this? I do like that. There was a fanboy there like hey, yeah, definitely we don't see many of you oh my god, I'm I'm laughing so hard, I'm crying already. So that was cool, poor jay was like what, and then he sees what it is, it's like j-hope, oh, okay, girl, okay, and he's like, sorry, j-hope that's so sorry.
Speaker 1he was too cute, apologizing, yeah, because he couldn't guess it, but oh my God.
Speaker 2But that's when he's like okay, which you know, because he was supposed to change to some pictures that there were up there, so that one was the cowboy. No, it was for Super.
Speaker 1Tuna, super Tuna. Yeah, we were picking which costume he was going to wear. He did the cowboy, right, but when did he do the cowboy?
Speaker 2No, no, the first night he did.
Speaker 1We got him in the little sailor captain suit. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2The captain suit to do Super Tuna. See, now I'm getting the freaking Right.
Speaker 1See, yeah, it all sort of Now I remember Like clogs up in your brain, but it was for super tuna costume.
Speaker 2Yes, so we got him in the little sailor suit. Sailor suit. He came out and did it. Oh my god, that was so funny.
Speaker 1Yeah, love super tuna. What started out as a silly little like thing to yeah to distribute to the army during the pandemic, post-pandemic sort of times, turned into huge. Like everybody loved super tuna I love super tuna. Even he was like he's like army's crazy, like why why do you?
Speaker 2what is this about this song? It's fun, it's catchy, it's it is, it is, you know it's, it's, it's like a horizon, you know, and everybody can sing that one kind of yeah yeah, I like that.
Speaker 1That was so cool but it was so, it was. Um, it was when we were supposed to be singing and we did horribly, but that's when the cowboy hot costume happened yes, excuse me having trouble speaking and whoa, whoa, that costume the mariachi looking pants.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, with the bolero thing.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, it was all black and it had the studs down the side of the pants. They were a little flared. He had boots on. Oh and that, yeah, the bolero had that jacket look wow, so good.
Speaker 2Like his body transformed with that suit. That outfit make him look so papow for some reason, right it?
Speaker 1it made his legs look even longer?
Speaker 2yes, you know, because everybody knows he's tall, skinny, lanky you know, but he is muscular because yeah oh when he's like oh, I need to change took his baller off with something else everybody's like yeah, he had like arms, little muscle t going on oh my god everybody went crazy.
Speaker 1he's like what exactly? Like he doesn't know the power he holds, oh my god. But yeah, when, so when he was, he used that for like rope it and he had changed the jacket. And we're sort of sorry, we're all over the place with this. It was just there was so much happening the whole time. Yeah, he, he had those pants in the boots when he was doing the astronaut and he lays down on the floor to sing. I was like I'm going to die. He's killing us. What are you doing, jan?
Speaker 2They kill me with, like the songs, because after he did that, you know how little break and whatever he brought in the piano. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's when you know it's going to get, that's going to get real, right, yeah.
Speaker 1He did.
Speaker 2This is the part where it's like hang, I'm gonna get real here and y'all gonna start crying. I'm gonna steal your heart right now or I'm just gonna rip it out of your chest because, yes, this is gonna be the song. That is so serious. Oh, my goodness, the piano playing.
Speaker 1It was so good, oh yeah, no, no, and then his voice. Oh, that place was silent yeah, well, he was that, for I know abyss was one of the ones he did. What was the other one? Oh, um, um, I will come to you if you need me, I will come to you.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's the piano one and then after that, then when he got me crying again, start playing background and I'm like oh no.
Speaker 2And it's like, okay, I'm good. This is one of my favorites. That's fine, for some reason, the way he just sang it, because you're seeing his expressions of pain. I'm like, no, no, this is where you're going to get me, this is where I'm going to start crying. And I was bawling. I'm like, okay, I'm not crying, I'm crying on background, don't kill me here, oh my goodness. And then, after background, level up.
Speaker 1So I lost, or no, another level, another level, because that one's, yeah, one of my top favorites.
Speaker 2Oh, my goodness.
Speaker 1Yeah, goodness, yeah, no, I didn't lose it until epiphany no, it was. He was doing the um, the medley of oh yes, like dynamite butter. Yes, spring day, no, microcosmos in spring day. Yes, because we did shine, shine, dream, smile. It was once he hit spring day. That's when I lost it. I was like I don't know why. I just started bawling my eyes out because we miss all of them together.
Speaker 1Well, I think it was especially because he did sing the line and through it all, you're my best friend and I was like oh, forget it, I'm done I'm not gonna cry and I'm like it was after that that he did astronaut, but he had those pants on that whole time and, oh my god, those pants those pants, okay.
Speaker 2So you want a pair of those pants, only if he's in them. Okay, you know I'm not tall enough.
Speaker 1I'm not tall enough to pull off those pants. Oh my god, you need to have long legs because they or if they were tailored for me, maybe it would work.
Speaker 2Yeah, of course.
Speaker 1But no, he just.
Speaker 2Nobody can get into jeans pants, except for Jin.
Speaker 1Exactly, are you kidding me? But so it was during the astronaut, I mean the looks he was giving the camera.
Speaker 1Oh my God, you know, because they had the little camera guy so that you could see it up on the big Jumbotron. But just seeing him from a distance, laying on the stage, I was like, oh my God, wow, what is he? He is? He's just trying to kill us all. But then the camera showing him and he's just his perfect self singing away. And that was the exact moment where I felt like I was the only person there. That song. I was like it's just me and jen and he's singing to me and this is perfect and beautiful, because I was so engrossed. Yes, I love the song, but like just everything the way they staged that and he did that, the delivery it was all on the delivery.
Speaker 2And we're looking at him, we're looking at his facial expressions, how he is just a passion that he's delivering these songs. That it just gets you, it got me.
Speaker 1Well, and he's laying down singing this, oh my goodness, on pitch. Do you know what I mean? He's an incredible performer, that's all I can say. But I did. I was like lost in this little world, little bubble all my own, when he did that. Oh my God, when I was there.
Speaker 2I was thinking of something that Suga has said on a live, because many years ago you know, know this, saying this quote of sugar saying that oh yeah, I may look, we may look girly, but I can make your girlfriend screamer, scream harder than you I'm like oh my god.
Speaker 1So all these girls are like what I'm like.
Speaker 2yes, you got, you are so 100%, it's true. It's so true, yeah, you can make girlfriends scream Jeez. Yeah, it's true.
Speaker 1They got something the power, the magnetism, I mean wow, yeah, it was just incredible, I know, and we're only on the first night.
Speaker 2I know that was just the first night oh my god but anyways, after that amazing first night, sarah and I try to get merch that was laughable let's just try, just like whatever they don't have you know, we'll come back the next day, the next morning, since we were staying. So that's what we did, and, of course, when that night they had, you know, run out of the key chain, and then half the T-shirts.
Speaker 1Yes, half the T-shirts. We managed to get the baseball jerseys. Yes, they had those.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1But to get the baseball jerseys? Yes, they had those. Yes, but only like extra large and double xl. We were like I'm just whatever.
Speaker 2I didn't want to miss out on that. They ran out of the black t-shirt, but I was able to get the white one. Yep, let's see the t-shirt, the jersey and, I think, the light stick strap we got that we got that on the second time.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, so I only got two items.
Game Time and Super Tuna Performance
Speaker 2For some reason, I thought I was able to buy three.
Speaker 1You might well, I don't know, because all I managed to get that first night. Oh, I got his um the picket oh, yeah, yeah I got the picket and, uh, the baseball shirt, and that was all I was able to get, because they didn't have any of the other stuff I wanted.
Speaker 2Yeah, like the light stick strap, the key ring, the wuto, the little wuto was gone?
Speaker 1Yeah, they didn't have, they were out of the headbands. The light stick wuto, there was a head thing like the light stick one on the adult side, you know. Oh yeah, human size hat yeah yeah, they were out of all that. They were out of all the mini photos and the that was on the first night mini pic. Yeah, I mean, so we, we grabbed whatever they had left. Yeah, the line was real quick because it was hardly any people were going through and like do you?
Speaker 2this, this, nope, nope, nope, nope yeah.
Speaker 1So we went. And then forget it about the gin ramen. That was just. Oh, that was good.
Speaker 2Yeah, we walked by the empty. Yeah, all you saw was empty boxes. Kiosk for that. We're like dang it. Fine, and apparently gin ramen was giving away T-shirts, but it was just like limited you know for the first I don't know how many, yeah, yeah, probably the first.
Speaker 1Like 100 people got them or something.
Speaker 2So ah, so oh well, but we're like, okay, early morning we're just going over there get some merch definitely go to that, that pre-merch line but, yeah, I was gonna say the second day again, like relaxing watching tv before we go in, remember what we were watching and what happened.
Speaker 1This was funny too.
Speaker 2We were watching friends like oh yeah, we're watching old episodes. Oh my god, yes, we were watching old episodes of friends. Of course, aren't favorite show Like me, and yeah, what was the episode I forgot?
Speaker 1All right, Rachel was babysitting Marcel, the monkey for Ross, yes, and he got out. He ran away and she's trying to distract Ross while everybody's out looking for Marcel.
Speaker 1Yeah, and she's like I know I've got a crazy idea, let's go to Newark. Yes, and Ross's reply I know I've got a crazy idea, let's go to Newark. Yes. And Ross's reply oh my God, is the murder capital of the Northeast? No, thank you. And we look at each other. We're like, oh my God, we're going and we've already been in Newark and we're going back in today. I was like what is this with the shows we watch before going?
Speaker 2Exactly.
Speaker 1Going into the shows and just to think.
Speaker 2France is what RM used to learn English, that's what he keeps saying right. And then why are BTS going to New York?
Speaker 1Yeah, doesn't he remember that episode?
Speaker 2Come on, rm. He keeps saying you know, Ross is the murder capital of the world. Come on, why are you bringing army there? Why Can you have a leader, have a voice and say can we just not go to Newark anymore, go somewhere else, boston, hello.
Speaker 1I was going to say no offense, newark, it was Ross Ross said it, not me Exactly. But here we are, down there we're both like what exactly? I mean, I don't how old is that episode of?
Speaker 2friends from the 90s. So 20 years, yeah.
Speaker 1So, of course, yes, allah has changed but come on, but just the, the coincidence, yeah, of seeing that particular episode exactly before we're going into new york.
Speaker 2so we have been there. I have to say I have no business to go to that town unless it's just bts related, because definitely there's nothing to do down there. We have gone to some places there. Everybody was rude with the exception of the target, but that wasn't even Newark, that was Rutherford. No, except for that nice lady at the parking lot. Yeah, that's probably the only nice person that we met in Newark that it was nice, but she didn't live there, she was just work there. So that's just to let you know.
Speaker 1So Well, it's because there were the second day. There were horrible thunderstorms oh my God, that rain.
Speaker 2So we had the total opposite we had heat and then we had the rain, that it was thundering and then for some reason they were saying possible tornado. They're like where are we going to be? Where are we going? Flash flooding yeah, extreme opposite, no opposite. No like oh, some rain, no, it was just chaos.
Speaker 1It's like what happened the wind was pretty insane right, it kind of cooled off but we're like, okay, is this just a wind or is this tornado starting? I was like we gotta run to a stairwell we'll run over here.
Speaker 2We're like, okay, okay, what are we gonna do? Like we gotta strap ourselves down to like the railing or something.
Speaker 1I don't know use our army bomb strapped. But we did. We went in early to go to the early merch line, yes, and we were able to get all what we needed.
Speaker 1Well, and it was crazy though, because I was like, all right, I'm not holding up much hope for us getting too much and we're probably going to have to wait Hopefully the rain holds off because it was in between sort of rain spurts happening, so we were like we might be stuck standing out getting drenched. We got there and there was nobody in the line. Exactly, we were like are we skipping people? Are we cutting in line if we go in? And some girl's like no, that's not the line, those are people just hanging out, and then you know we were like all right so we go in zip, zip, zip.
Speaker 1I mean, just walked right up to the front of the line, yeah, and I'm like, all right, do you have the strap, the charm, the mini photos, the mini picket, this T-shirt, that T-shirt? The guy's like, yes, we have all, give it to me, I want it all.
Speaker 2I was like well to get the black T-shirt, yeah, the light bulb strap, the key chain, and then I got the little Wuto head for my army bomb.
Speaker 1It's so cute it is cute, I love it. But I was like I feel bad because I didn't get like the, you know, the D-Day one. I didn't get the J-Hope one, I don't have the other ones, so it's like I feel I'd feel guilty having wuto and not you know, but wuto is supposed to be your, your, your boyfriend's. You know, I know psychic, so you shouldn't feel bad rj too, though, so you know who do I who do you choose?
Speaker 2but he has two psychics, so you know you got both. Get an rj. Put a wuto head on well, they actually.
Speaker 1Some people had headbands, one with one side, rj, one wuto oh, there you go so I should get that.
Speaker 2There you go I love that's my boyfriend, I'm telling you, admit he's my boyfriend?
Speaker 1yeah, no, I do. I took that quiz in like what 2016?
Speaker 2oh, my god after or 15.
Speaker 1You introduced me to them. I took a quiz, told me jen was my boyfriend, so he. I was like, all right, he's my bias. Yeah, I love them all I do.
Speaker 2But I was like the quiz said the jen is my boyfriend, but I mean, look at him, he has the sass, he, like you know you know he can cook.
Speaker 1Oh, yes, he's funny, yes he's adorable, yep, cute, sexy handsome like he's everything he's gonna tell you how it is. He doesn't like something he's gonna tell you there you go.
Speaker 2He's no, no, no, bs-er. He's just gonna tell you how it is actually, you know what this is.
Speaker 1This had nothing to do with us. I was just remembering, though, talk about sass. Right when he was doing his shows in korea, there was something they were showing behind the scenes. Tay was telling him he really liked the song tie me up, and jen looks at him and goes you mean rope it why are you thinking, boy? What jen like the side eye, he get it. You mean rope it so. So both nights when he was singing rope it all I could think of was.
Speaker 2Oh my god, girl, just because one had to like say it wrong, and you're like sign me up, girl well, hey, obviously jay had some ideas.
Speaker 1He was thinking of something else had some ideas. He was thinking of something else.
Speaker 2Wow, tay tay, oh, tay tay jeez, oh sorry, I just I had to because I was remembering. No, I'm sure plenty of army are thinking just like you.
Speaker 1You know I'm with tay tay tay just started something.
Speaker 2J Jin is like what's wrong with you, but he also knew which song he meant yeah, yep.
Speaker 1Oh, that's funny, oh, but yeah, so we got our merch.
Speaker 2Yes, and we got all the merch we wanted.
Speaker 1And then you know, like this epiphany ha ha, ha, ha, pun intended I was like, hey, we could just go put this in the car so we don't have to carry it right, because we have plenty of time, yeah, so so we went back to the car and that's when it started dumping. We were like, all right, maybe we'll just sit here for for a while not sit out there, yeah and that's when the storm blow over, and then that's when the storms coming in.
Speaker 2We're like, oh girl, look at this, but we didn't get the worst part, but we got some. It was pretty bad yeah, it was.
Speaker 1It was pretty bad, it was intense we were not the only ones, because there was some fan also going towards their car and like sheltering in their cars because, well, and one of them changed into some of the merch yeah, she's like got in the car, you could see. We were like all right, we're not gonna watch. But like I was like I think she's changing her clothes. But that was. You know, we already had ours from the night before. We had our baseball jerseys on. You know, I heard some people complain. They were like, why'd we get neon green? Because you know, like california got red and somebody else got blue.
Speaker 1Yeah, somebody had like an orangey red I was like I, like the neon green, I thought it was fun. Yeah, it was different, you know.
Speaker 2You know it stood out yeah, we should have been purple. How come it's not purple?
Speaker 1it's like it wouldn't have been fair. He wouldn't have been able to do all the different cities the way he did. If he did that, you know exactly, Then LA would be like why?
Speaker 2didn't we?
Speaker 1get purple or Tampa would be like why didn't we get purple Right? I think he was very smart about that. Yeah, he was. And for those who who couldn't go or didn't know, I think that there are places.
Speaker 1You can buy the merch, including on weverse. Yeah, and you may not know, but he designed all of this stuff, like drawings on stuff that he designed. He came up with the ideas of what he wanted, specifically for merch, and I was just like wow, because, like I loved everything, I was like I want, I do, I want all of it. I couldn't afford all of it. So I love you, jen, but I gotta pay rent exactly, we have a budget we have a budget, which you know, I know it's.
Speaker 2I always say we have a budget, but then I still blow up the budget oh yeah, no, I totally, it's like ah, dang it.
Speaker 1I, yes, I went over cheat, you know yeah, it's sort of like when you, you know, you go, you know you're going to a show at a casino and you're like well we'll probably. You know, I got like 50, 100 bucks I'll. I'll spend on gambling, right, like that I can stick to merch.
Speaker 2I'm like I'm only gonna spend 150 dollars on merch, nope, boom now that you said the last time that we went to a casino I didn't spend any.
Speaker 1No, I didn't either. I just did it on merch.
Speaker 2I didn't spend any. Oh my God, we did food, we did a lot of food.
Speaker 1We did a lot of food In the tiki bar. Did a lot of food and all shopping at the other casino. Oh yeah, yeah, that's right, all right, but anyway. So yeah, no, I, I blew my budget and I could have done worse. I really could have, but I was like, all right, rein it in.
Speaker 2You gotta remember how much can you pay off side note yeah, did you know that july is the slowest month for vegas? Oh really, huh. So is July the month of slowness in Vegas.
Speaker 1Well, it's probably also the hottest month in Vegas.
Speaker 2That's what I was thinking as well, and I'm like maybe, because it's just like 200 degrees down there.
Emotional Piano Performance and Ballads
Speaker 1Yeah, because I've been out there a few times, usually late September, early October. Every single time it was just hot. But I've told you, hot weather follows me everywhere. They're always like oh you know, hawaii. They were like it's unseasonably warm here for this time of year. I was like it's because I came. Oh my god, I attract heat because heat knows I hate it.
Speaker 2But anyway, anyway, we digressed exactly. Oh, let's talk about the gin ramen. I tried it today. Oh yeah, I was like, oh, let me have it today because we're gonna have the talk and I want to talk about gin ramen, not sponsored. It's really good, yeah and actually. Oh, I'm sorry, did you eat it? I did miss. Sarah has a gluten allergy and she's like I'll probably do it when I don't have to do anything, just in case I have like one of those like rumble, rumble anyways, it's so good it is.
Speaker 2The broth is actually made out of bone broth. Yeah, it's not fake. So I was like it had definitely does have a different taste. It's it's um milder, the mild, completely mild, because I had we'll have the mild, um and it it was not like extra salty. You know, sometimes some ramens are like so, so salty.
Speaker 1There's like oh, yeah, that's what I was.
Speaker 2It was just like the perfect saltiness, you know.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I didn't have to take away anything, I just put everything. Oh, it was so good. Yes, it's really good. Now I mean it's not because of gin, but I think it's now my favorite ramen. Now it's gin ramen. I'm with gin. You know ginger loves ramen and you know the Japan, I love gin. There you go.
Speaker 1Yeah, no, it was. It was good. I was like it was the little small cup size.
Speaker 2Oh, you did the cup size Good.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was like I'll just do the little cup that we got at the concert and it should be okay. It's small enough.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1I was able to eat it, and yeah, you're right, that was the one thing I noticed.
Speaker 2I was like the taste isn't sharp. Sometimes it's very like stingy. It's not so much that it's spicy. Yeah, it's the salt.
Speaker 1Yeah, it like all the sodium burns and it didn't feel that way at all. Right, it was just. Yeah, it was very flavorful. So about the second? Yeah, so in between rainstorms we managed to run out, went and had a drink and some nibbles at a little bar close by. We stopped by the fan meet event. Yes that they were having Great stuff, but it was crazy in there. Oh my God, it was packed.
Speaker 1Everybody was there either meeting and drinking and eating and looking at all the Some avoiding the rain because again it was off and on all day, Right, but so many great little homemade Etsy shop kind of fan-made items.
Speaker 2It was awesome, yes.
Speaker 1Really cool.
Speaker 2A lot of crafty people we did pick up a couple things there too because, you know, we can't help ourselves sometimes no, oh my god, I got this coaster with RM's face on it, so adorable love and I got that well, because I found the one of V in the gold sparkly love me again.
Speaker 1I was like it's like fate, I have to have this. Yes, so yeah. We both bought those, just yeah. Everything was so cute. The tote bags, those like Trader Joe but Trader Yoongi or Trader.
Speaker 2Oh, I wanted one, a later one. I need to bring up the budget.
Speaker 1well, I haven't well those. I know I've seen those in, like the etsy shops. So okay, if you go on etsy you can type it in.
Speaker 2You know you'll find them. I'll look it up?
Speaker 1yeah, because they've been around. I've seen them even prior to this. But seeing them in person, I was like, oh my god they're so cute, right they're, they're adorable, so I may end up with one. I know like I need another two girl with bag ladies, so after we did that we were trying to figure out what to do and then we saw people going in remember this was so funny.
Speaker 2Yes, oh, my God, yes, okay, speaking of cutting in line, so it was raining and then we saw people just going in and we're like, oh, maybe they're letting people in because it's raining.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So Sarah and I proceeded to just go into the venue. They checked our bags.
Speaker 1Yeah, did the little search Exactly Went through the metal detector.
Speaker 2And when we got to the person to scan the ticket, they're like where's your wristband? I'm like what wristband? This is VIP. We're like oh sorry, I thought they were just letting people in now.
Speaker 1Well, because that wasn't the entrance they'd used the day before for.
Speaker 2VIP no, it was different.
Speaker 1So we were like, okay, yeah, exactly, they're letting people in because it's awful out and you might get washed away in a flood, exactly, nope, nope, that was just us trying to sneak in. I was like, oh, you should have said something you know, it's like nobody stopped us at the door to say you don't have a wristband. This is vip only exactly, nobody said anything.
Speaker 2You know, I was gonna say well, it's your security, for because you don't should check for the wristband first, right?
Speaker 1but see, that's what happens when we obviously were walking with confidence and we were like we're just gonna stroll, I'm. We were like we're just going to stroll.
Speaker 2I'm sure the other girls are there like oh see, they're not. They just got in, they're not even VIP. I don't care. Sorry, this was not VIP yesterday, this was just regular entry.
Speaker 1Regular entrance. That was funny.
Speaker 2Be more specific, prudential. Have your staff stop you if you don't have a wristband. Have them check that first before you start checking right at the door because, yeah, everybody, let's just go right exactly girl.
Speaker 1It's like where's the wristband? We're like what? Oh my god, that was too funny. So that's when we were like, well, let's go get some snacks exactly.
Speaker 2We went back to the restaurant that we were in before, which, by the way, omg, we were sitting there forever. We could have had a free meal, I know because nobody was like coming to our table, and we're lucky we got food. It was chaos that everywhere in that vicinity, but yeah.
Speaker 1So then we saw people seriously starting to line up like I ran through the restaurant like where's our wit? I hey, I want our check.
Speaker 1We gotta go exactly because we were like if we wait to line up we're gonna be way, way at the back of the line, yeah. So we rushed out and we stood, I mean, at the end they had, like what, eight lines to get in. So it was sort of chaos, people just wandering, meandering around. We got in much quicker, yeah, because we had kept an eye on that line and we got in right away, yeah, and we bolted immediately for the uh, the gin ramen line. Everybody was going for the gin ramen line. It was crazy because they opened that day they didn't open the doors till 6 30. So I remember noting the time it was 702 when we got in, oh, and I was like, oh, my god, we gotta where's the end of the line for this? We, it just kept going and going and going. But they got us through so fast because it was 715 when we got out of that gin ramen line.
Speaker 2I thought we were going to be in it forever they had, I think, multiple people giving the ramen, not just two and they were just like tossing it.
Speaker 1yeah, because you got a like the little square pack and a cup and they were just like shoving at people and I was like can I have that box? Because she was emptying the box and she was like sure she threw in an extra ramen for me. I'm like, yeah, ironic, right, the person who can't eat it waits in line to get it, and it's not like you can't get it anywhere else. But it was because it was at the concert. I know it was the free gin ramen, exactly.
Speaker 1I saved the cup even after I washed it out because it's like styrofoam. So I was like, oh, I can clean this and display it.
Speaker 2My cup is at work. I have it as an emergency. You know, like food at work.
Speaker 1I have it as an emergency, you know, like food, but but yeah. So I was like wow, because the night before the the line snaked for like oh no, that wasn't saying five or six that was so lines yeah, and people were waiting you know an hour, so they must have gotten in like right when the doors open and everybody just rushed to it or something.
Speaker 2But we got our merch, we were happy. We just wanted the gin ramen.
Speaker 1We already had the merch so we didn't have to worry about trying to do multiple lines. But, yeah, they got us through because it was 7.15 when we were like, well, let's get some drinks and chill out and wait for the show to start. Do some people watching?
Speaker 2see what's going on, you know. And then I think we got lucky because when we were inside it started to rain again. So people that were out there, I was like oh yeah that's crazy, getting drenched.
Speaker 1We were in pretty much the same spot for the second night. We were like a little further over, but we still had a really amazing great view, view. And so for the second night, of course, you know, he made fun of us again for our bad singing yep, but at least we had idols, which is kind of easier, yeah, you know, oh, oh, so, so he's sort of. I think he still got it wrong, though, because I think he did it on purpose, because the second night he wore the like Taekwondo outfit for Super Tuna. That was cute.
Speaker 2So I think he didn't want to wear one.
Speaker 1He didn't want one of the outfits. No, because he was supposed to wear the cowboy, yeah, and he was like no, I don't think you guys really want that one, though, didn't you want a different? And he's like did you want 0, 1, 2?
Speaker 2So he came up with the karate.
Speaker 1He was like I don't want to do the cowboy outfit yet I'm wearing the taekwondo outfit.
Speaker 2He still looked good yeah. Oh my God.
Speaker 1Anything he puts on, we're like yeah.
Speaker 2You look amazing, but he still came out with this sparkly, you know denim thing.
Speaker 1Yeah, the first outfit.
Speaker 2I live, it's so good.
Speaker 1Well, you know, I mean it runs sort of the same way and the starting outfit and the closing outfit are sort of the same, but like everything he does in between, yeah, except for when he decides to change the rules of the game, of course, hey, he does in between, yeah, except for when he decides to change the rules?
Speaker 1yeah, the game, of course. Hey, it's his show, he can do whatever he wants, exactly. But uh, yeah, that second night, though, one of the the clues was the orange suit guy. Oh my god, yeah, and it was in reference to him, I guess, in the dynamite video.
Speaker 2But I know that was like what is the orange suit? I didn't. I didn't get it either but, then what's with that person wearing an orange suit that didn't make like I'm like how?
Speaker 1I. I found out later from some posts on uh instagram that it was someone who was dressed as the lorax. Okay, that's why. Because people were like, what's that pregnant person doing? I was like, well, they're not pregnant because it's bouncing around like a ball is in there. I was like it's something else. It was apparently someone dressed as the Lorax and because it was bright orange, it worked for the clue.
Speaker 2So it was funny, but why they were dressed like the Lorax, I have no idea. Did Jin have something that he likes?
Speaker 1the Lorax, I don't know, maybe it was just what they had on hand, I don't know. You know, because people do things to try and stand out, I know.
Speaker 2Like the light up stuff, yeah, yeah so.
Speaker 1Maybe they thought the bright orange Lorax outfit would catch an eye, and it did, because everybody's pointing at the Lorax poor jim is like.
Speaker 2I have no idea what this is but it was like yeah, like, how will you mimic that? Right, you couldn't even say what it is, you just have to like, mime it you know well, and that was actually that was another amazing thing when he was doing those.
Speaker 1He's you can't talk, it can only be. You know, like charades, you can only do hand signs and motion, no speaking. And he's like let's practice, Everybody be quiet. Did you hear how? I mean you could hear a pin drop. When he told us to be quiet, Everybody shut up for like maybe three seconds and then someone was like like, exactly, it's bound to happen.
Speaker 1I was like, oh god but but like when he said everybody quiet, we were quiet. Oh yeah he. He didn't have that same luck with a few other places I heard. Oh yeah, he's. He must be like these east coast people, like tell them to shut up. They're like, okay, give us attitude, we'll give it right back, we're not gonna say anything I don't know he was good, he was so good but yeah, he was just wow, wow, incredible. You know, music wise, it was the same, it was amazing.
Speaker 1The slight costume changes, like he didn't wear the mariachi-style pants the second night.
Speaker 2Right, it was a different costume. It was still in black though.
Speaker 1Yeah, like black baggy jeans, right, but it still looked good, oh yeah.
Speaker 2Did he look good? Oh yeah, and the two nights remember he was wearing some type of jewels on his face.
Speaker 1Oh, yeah, yeah, the first night they were like under his eye, under his eye, yeah, a little trail of sparkles Right and then on the second night it looks like he was wearing an eyebrow earring.
Speaker 2Yeah, it looked like eyebrow piercing, so he had little sparkles on his face and he was not wearing the white heart gin on the first act he didn't wear that one. On the second night he only wore the uh white um tank top everything about was just so incredible, so good.
Speaker 1It was just such a like it really felt very personal yes and that's what we love going to shows where you feel engaged in and like they care about you. And he pulled that off perfectly.
Speaker 2He's just talking to army. Hi, army. We're like okay, it's like so funny.
Speaker 1The way he talks in english.
Speaker 2She's so cute but sassy at the same time. Like, okay, like, okay, like, are you sincere? Like what? Sassy Jin? But no, that's who he is and we love him because of that. You know, he's not going to tailor it to anybody. Oh yeah, I know he's like this is who I am I'm sassy. I'm my creow. You know, Spanish is, like you know, sassy. I got attitude. So we got lucky to see that. Yes, we did, we got so lucky.
Speaker 1So, so lucky and it was, yeah, just an amazing show because it was interactive. You know, it was very, even though you're doing it with 10,000 other people. Yeah, it was just. You were playing a game with Jen and he was looking around the audience and he was noticing things, so it was awesome. He was a very generous, genuine performer. Yeah, awesome.
Day Two: Rain, Merch, and Different Vibes
Speaker 2I like that. Well, sarah and I were having some withdrawals and then, of course, there was a live stream From Amsterdam For Amsterdam on August 9th. So I'm like, sarah, you might not go, I just want to see this again, come on. So we did that again. And oh my God, was that as good, and I still cried, I still cried in the background. I'm like, and oh my God, was that as good, and I still cried, I still cried in the background.
Speaker 1I'm like oh my God, I still cried at spring day. So there you go, you know.
Speaker 2Because I'm like, look at him, look at the passion, look at him, it's just, oh my God, his voice is so amazing.
Speaker 1I noticed, though in Amsterdam his cowboy hat was different. Oh it was, I didn't notice that it was. Uh, the one he had for us was like pretty big, like wide brim, like big hat in black, the one for amsterdam it looked a little smaller and it was brownish and I was like rope. It has a different feel this time because the hat looks different. It was weird. There were a few little subtle things like that he didn't have the face jewels oh, yeah, and the second night, remember, I was like is he wearing an earring?
Speaker 1I think he has an earring. He hasn't worn one for a long time. He had an earring but no earrings, nothing, no, he was very sort of just wearing a necklace with a shoehorn charm.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's his. For the ambassador ship.
Speaker 1Okay, so that I think that, and the bracelet are from his promotions for his brand nice, yeah, yeah, they are nice.
Speaker 2They got nice stuff, very delicate, but it's like look Armin, look what I'm wearing. Go buy it, because you can wear it too Exactly. Subtle, you know it's not chunky, it's not clunky, it was just like it was nice.
Speaker 1It was like a. He really impressed me. She recognized a lot of the music because I listen to it all the time and make her listen to it. But, um, and she's like, he, wow, like he was so handsome in some points and then just funny and cute and others like she totally saw what we all love about jim yeah, because you know jimin's her favorite, so she's she's like. But it made me realize when we did the viewing of the permission to dance in the undisclosed location, she, uh, she was like. It made me realize that at that show she noticed Jin first because his hair had grown out a little. It was slightly longer.
Speaker 1And she's like. And he had that flowy shirt with the embroidery on it. It had, like, the bell sleeves.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And it was a V-neck but it was flowy and she's like, and when he had come out on the stage for that show, she's like I spotted him and it was like, and she's like, and when he had come out on the stage for that show, she's like, I spotted him and was like, wow, who is that? And she's like it was jinn. And I'm like you could have asked me and dj panic about it while we were watching. We'd have told you who it was, but she's she's weird sometimes about stuff. She's's like well, I feel like it's your thing and I shouldn't invade. I'm like BTS is for everybody.
Speaker 2Why is she saying that Music?
Speaker 1artists are for everybody. It's not. You know, she can be weird about stuff.
Speaker 2I'm like no, we need more ARMY.
Speaker 1We don't own them.
Speaker 2Come on, rachel, be part of the ARMY, be part of the ARMY. That's why we no. She kept saying I'm like oh, one of you can move on this, and I'm like no you sit there and watch him.
Speaker 1Well, we could have moved anywhere. The whole back row was ours for the taking Right, but she was like and when he brought out that piano that was so impressive and so beautifully done, she's like I didn't know what he was singing, but I was moved, I was glued and you saw her.
Speaker 2She was leaning forward and I know I was like wow, rachel is really like zoomed in because she was like propped to the front like oh my god like she did not want to miss anything. Yeah, she's like, I'm not missing this for anything. I'm like you, better not.
Speaker 1That's the power of Jen Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2Oh my God, she was all up in there.
Speaker 1She was like wow, she compared it to another one of our favorite piano playing artists. Who she's like that same brings that same emotion and power. Who she's like that same brings that same emotion and power. Like yeah, he knows he's got you hooked, yeah, and he sits down and starts playing and singing.
Speaker 2He's oh yeah, when brought that piano, forget it. He's got your heart, he got all your attention. He's really want to go ahead, get you.
Speaker 1It's like, oh killing me boy, and, and oh god, and his throat like the throwing kiss um his signature move yes he did that, got that smaller.
Speaker 2You know, look, this is like looking into your soul, not your eyes, your soul.
Speaker 1And he's gonna get it with that kiss and then the little wink after oh, I was like oh, my goodness, yeah, because for the amsterdam live stream they were focused right on him. For it so it was like oh, my God.
Speaker 2Yeah, we saw completely different angles that were like oh my God, so amazing. That whole theater was just like oh my God, everybody's like oh my God. It was like what?
Speaker 1Even the theater was screaming. I was going to say that was one of the most interactive theater experiences we've had. Yeah, other than the huge permission to dance one Right, that was crazy, but like the last couple we've gone to, like people have been kind of on the mellow side.
Speaker 1You know, they like waving army bombs and, like you know, a couple of clapping. But like this was people were hooting and hollering like he could hear us oh yeah, including me. I got caught up in it too. I was like, oh, my god, oh no, we're like yeah and it was incredible, and today we were clapping too.
Speaker 2I know right, you know everybody was clapping.
Speaker 1Well, that's what I mean. It's like were, like he could hear us. Yeah, we were crazy. So actually today is the last day of the tour. Yeah, we're recording this on August 10th and it's his last day in Amsterdam and then he's going to be coming to join the boys. So he did do a live yesterday. It was so cute, it was so, it was so. It was kind of sad too, though, because you could see he was kind of hurt. He's like, you know, usually I, I sing and it's all good and everything today. So he was saying but today twice, and I'm like, what are you talking about? He, he thinks he hit sour notes twice. Oh, during the show, I didn't, yeah, I didn't hear it when he's got to be a perfectionist, right, I don't know. He didn't say he just he's like, you know, usually I'm right on pitch and I'm good, but today twice. And he like shook his head and looked disappointed in himself. And I just want to tell you Jen you did amazing.
Speaker 2are you talking about what's our notes?
Speaker 1yeah, exactly, he's like you know, probably because it was the live stream, he was more concerned.
Speaker 2I mean, they've been filming it all of these, so you know they're going to come out with some big amazing like right, I wonder if the boys are gonna tell him oh yeah, what happened to you there, you know, because I'm sure somebody's gonna tell him oh yeah, probably jk he might be, the young jk he might be the young, but they're gonna tell him off too, just like what happened to you in that line, because they're like that. You know they at each other like if somebody does a move.
Speaker 2They're like, hey, sugar, you didn't blah, blah blah. Or like, all right, blah, blah, blah. When was it? When tay tay, remember then tay and jen were having an, it got a scuffle because oh yeah, yeah, you know dance.
Speaker 1You gotta come faster. Well, you should.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, that whole yeah so you know, I'm sure one of the boys will be like what happened? Yeah, what happened there?
Speaker 1well, hobi will have noticed, somebody will tell him off, but he'll do it in a fun, you know like. So, jen, exactly you were singing whatever, but like I didn't notice it, and I'm sure amsterdam army didn't notice, no, and I didn't like, but we weren't that live stream why?
Speaker 1I don't know what he's talking about I, I'm pretty sure he's very much a perfectionist. Yeah, the way his whole personality works, oh yeah, so you know that he's just more critical of himself than any of us ever would be. And like come on, did you hear us singing Jin Right?
Speaker 2Don't worry, does he want us to be perfect too? We're not like that. No, because then he couldn't make fun of us.
Speaker 1oh yeah, that's true, but it was great it was amazing every single show, but I'm still like. I'm like, what order did things happen in?
Speaker 2and what was the?
Speaker 1oh my god, because I was just so dazzled by the sparkly suit at the beginning and rope it, waving your army bomb around. And you know I mean like you just got caught up in everything.
Speaker 2So yeah, oh speaking of army bomb. Oh, the second night of of of new work, I was doing all good and then my army bomb started changing into red. I'm like and I'm like okay, but I'm like all right, so I'm just gonna do my thing. And then sarah's like what's wrong with your?
Speaker 1army bomb.
Speaker 2I'm like because everybody else was like the blue for whatever, yeah, and then I'm looking around, I'm like, okay, so there's other army bombs looking kind of like red. I'm like, okay, I'm not the only one, maybe, maybe just just the sinking, I don't know whatever. And then for some reason, my army bombs are like dimming. I'm like, oh, no, I'm running out of batteries. No, I'm like dang, I can have fresh battery.
Speaker 1How can they just I don't know well, it was funny because, like everybody else's, ours were all like blue and yours was this weird sort of lime green. Ours were pink, yours was red and then yours just sort of yeah, it started blinking and then it sort of started dying and I'm like my army bomb is dying so we determined that when your batteries are dying, bts jinn, whoever's performing, will know, because your army bomb will be red when everybody else is Exactly, and I was like oh my God, I hope this is not like.
Speaker 2I hope it's just the batteries, you know. Because I was like I hope this is not just like a malfunction or something, but I put fresh batteries for the Amsterdam viewing and it was fun.
Speaker 1It worked.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was fun, I just needed fresh batteries Anyway, anything else no.
Speaker 1We had such a good time.
Speaker 2Yes From the two live shows to the live stream yeah.
Speaker 1Just perfect. So much fun. And again, the basic premise of the show is the same, but every night's different. And it's incredible. His interaction with you is just special every night, okay.
Speaker 2His interaction with you is just special every night, okay. So we have seen J-Hope in Osaka live stream the staging that he had. And then we have seen Jins. Jins was very simple. I like that J-Hope. Of course, he had a completely different persona going on in there. Exactly which one do you like the best?
Amsterdam Livestream and Final Thoughts
Speaker 1Well, should we include Suga's, Because we saw Suga too. Sugars, because we saw sugar too. And his, his was simple also, but precisely staged for certain things. Yeah, not as many moving parts until the end, or well, actually it progressed that stage slowly lifted away throughout, so his was sort of in between them both. Well, I like them all, I do. They all have their merits and the things that make them Like Hobie's worked for what he was doing, suga's worked for what he was doing.
Speaker 1But I actually liked Jin's staging a lot more because it was all the focus was really all on him staging a lot more because it was all the focus was really all on him. You know, because even a couple of shows we've gone to not related to bts, but like that was one of the things. I was like it was very distracting all the stuff on the stage or all the things going on on the stage. So so it was refreshing to have something that was like really sort of just him out there presenting his music and doing things for you. Hobies was impressive. That was like, yeah, mind-blowing, really, like there was so much going in and and it worked with the music tricks.
Speaker 2What I have seen is for j-hope. Like, each song has his own like theme, right, you had to put that theme on stage for that right. Well, also on sugar, he had little themes as well yeah, that's what I was saying.
Speaker 1There were little stages, but they weren't over the top. No, any things like. The really over the top thing was the way that the metal cage stages yeah lifted up and disappeared and left right less and less space for him, you know, until he was finally at that door. And so it was different. It was simple in that there wasn't a lot of fuss about even those things. It was the piano with the chair and the table.
Speaker 2You know what I mean. Yeah, the other one was just like a living room, you know, and him just on this chair and whatever.
Speaker 1So that was simple. So, again, it suited what he was doing and that. So that's why it's so hard to compare them. Can't say one's better than you, because they all did what they were supposed to do. They showcased the style of music and the personality of who was doing it right. And so suga's simple sort of laid-back thing, and jin's being less about the environment and more about him. Yeah, and not to say that, like you know, he's egotistical and narcissistic or anything, but it was like he wanted to show that he was the music, like focus on me, this is what I'm doing, it's he was like I'm, you know, I'm the host.
Speaker 2Yeah. Yeah, welcome to my whatever, because I mean episode. You know, it's kind of like you're in a game show or some type of variety show, right.
Speaker 1He was contestant and host of his own show. Yes, and that. So that's why it was important that it not be too busy around him, because what he was doing was what, what you needed to watch, right, so it was awesome.
Speaker 2That's why I'm like can't wait for rm to do his, because I'm sure it's gonna be like so deep that I'm just gonna be crying the whole time and it's like I won't be able to buy the dvd because I'll be crying the whole time, or the blu-ray, whatever. Oh, anyways, all right, that's it, my friend. Yeah, so those who saw you know the show. Oh, my god, please let us know which one was your favorite. I mean, everything was awesome, but like the little games, you know what did he did. You know what kind of games he did, what, what kind of outfits he wore.
Speaker 2You know, because I would like to know kind of games he did, what kind of outfits he wore. You know, because I would like to know kind of sassiness or things that happened with fans. You know, because the one from amsterdam was a lady who was pregnant. Oh yeah, yeah, you know, just like I'm gonna sing with a baby voice oh, that was so cute, that was very cute that was yeah so you know, like what happened in your concert, in your gin concert all right, thank you everybody yes for joining us and listening please rate, review and share, share, share.
Speaker 1Give us five stars because we love our constellation gin our galaxy our universe and uh, please, please, become a subscriber, so we can maintain the podcast and I don't know.
Speaker 2Do some things, some projects that we have in mind, but just don't have the budget.
Speaker 1Budget, budget, budget.
Speaker 2So until next time, yep, bye-bye, bye-bye, johnny.
