Bad Love, Good Music: Why HANA Has Us Obsessed
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
When flowers bloom, they captivate with beauty—but HANA proves that blooms can bite back. This seven-member Japanese powerhouse, assembled through the "No No Girls" audition program under CHANMINA's expert guidance, has redefined what a rookie girl group can achieve in today's saturated market.
From our first listen of "Drop," we were mesmerized by the classical piano introduction that gives way to thunderous bass—a perfect metaphor for the group itself: delicate yet commanding, beautiful yet fierce. Each member contributes a distinctive vocal color to the group's sonic palette, creating a tapestry of sound that sets them apart from their contemporaries.
What struck us most during our deep dive was how each song explores a different facet of the Hana metaphor. "Burning Flower" embraces Latino influences with fierce declarations that "the flames will never stop." "Rose" examines the duality of beauty and protection through its thorns. "Tiger" showcases predatory energy with actual growls incorporated into the vocals. Their latest release "Bad Love" ventures into entirely new territory with 90s-inspired indie rock and emo sensibilities, proving their remarkable versatility.
CHANMINA's influence permeates everything from the production to the members' performance style, creating a signature sound produced with Japanese sensibilities and Western influences. With writing credits on every track, she's crafting a musical universe where these seven flowers can truly bloom with determination.
Whether you're drawn to electro-pop bangers or guitar-driven angst, HANA offers something that will capture your attention and refuse to let go. Listen with headphones to catch the intricate production details that might get lost otherwise—the faint background vocals, the demented music box sounds, the subtle piano motifs that connect their discography.
Subscribe to our podcast for exclusive content, including a special subscriber-only episode where we'll spill the tea on what's been happening in our personal lives. Until then, discover HANA and watch these beautiful, determined flowers continue to bloom despite—and because of—their thorns.

Introduction to Hana Hana
Speaker 1Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir with me, Sarashi and.
Speaker 2Miss DJ Panic, how are you? How's everybody? Oh, you weren't talking to me how are you? Well, I said how are you, and how's everybody?
Speaker 1But you said it so quickly I was like, oh, I wasn't supposed to answer that. Okay, so how are you? I am good. How are you? I'm good, actually, I'm good, actually, I'm doing well.
Speaker 2Thank you very much oh my oh, you follow him too. You follow him too.
Speaker 1There's this guy on instagram oh my god, love him like love him, yeah, the the manners thing, and proper grammar and correct exactly yeah we're not to talk about our health.
Speaker 2We just say, oh, yes, fine, you know. Yes, I'm doing well, that's it. That's all you need to say. Yes, I'm doing well.
Speaker 1Well, there's also some whole thing about to say I'm good implies like I'm a good person, I do good deeds, as opposed to I am doing well, as in physically well being. Yeah, oh, okay, so that's it. So, you know, the grammar police is people like to call. It'll be like, oh well, I'm doing well, thank you.
Speaker 2You're like, yeah, okay, because it's sort of those common things you know, yeah, Well, if you say that I'm doing well, thank you, yeah, that will be like oh, look at this stuck up. You know what I think it's like? Yes, I'm doing well, thanks. You know that that sounds so friendlier.
Speaker 1Yeah, then, like I'm doing well well, it's because they reply to you if you accidentally say, oh, I'm good, but we're so used to that's become like the norm.
Speaker 2That's okay to say.
Speaker 1But they're like oh well, I'm bad, you just want to punch them in their smarmy little face, I know. But anyways, we're not here for that.
Speaker 2No, we're not here for that. No, we're not. And actually these, this girl group that we are going to talk about, that we are finally going to talk about I know we've been, because we keep talking about it and then we don't. We blur that, saying we need to do a deep dive on this girl group. You know, because it's been wow January, they debuted in January. Well, the group actually started in January.
Speaker 1I think I have it in my notes. Let's see, I didn't have my notes ready to. I knew what we're talking about.
Meeting the Seven Members
Speaker 2Exactly so. This girl group that we're like hinting about is HANA HANA. Yes, girl group that we're like hinting about is hana hana. Yes, so hana is a seven member group from japan. Under the b rave, or want to call it brave a division of the japanese management company bsmg, made through the audition program of no, no girls. The audition started on 2024. I do remember that because I remember seeing the tweets and whatnot. And the final group was, of course, in January of 2025. So this year the group was formed by Korean-Japanese rapper Chanmina.
Speaker 1Hey, we love her.
Speaker 2Chanmina, when you come into the US, you're not going to keep saying that because you made that blur and made me so excited.
Speaker 1But anyways, she and Sky High are tight, tight, so that's why they're, I know, working together exactly his entertainment group, so yeah, so.
Speaker 2So the group meaning the name of the group. I know that in in japanese hana it's either your nose or a flower yep but, uh, the actual meaning for their name is a flower that blooms with determination, a flower that blooms beautifully and splendidly despite its thorns, a delicate flower that will die if not water, but still tries hard to live. Wow.
Speaker 1That's quite an extensive meaning, but it makes sense when you're talking about, you know, being a group named Hana, which more commonly like, I would think, flower as opposed to nose, exactly.
Speaker 2But I mean also when you think of Hana or Flower. They're just delicate, you know. You don't see them, you don't think of them reappearing again, unless you know come from new blossoming, you know.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2But for them it's just, it's a different thing. You know, yes, we bloom, but we just keep blooming. Yes, we're spiky with sassy, you know as well.
Speaker 1We're perpetual, we're strong, yeah, right but also we could be delicate.
Speaker 2Yeah, with everything, with females. That's the thing. A complete female has to be everything I know you know, not too sweet not too sassy, you know, just not, not too, not too pretty and then not too ugly either not Not too strong, but able to do things on their own Exactly. It's like you know, don't do this, but don't do that and don't do too much of that. You know, do less of this, do more of this, and that's like okay, it's always like a back and forth.
Speaker 2It's like you know. So I guess this Hana is like that, we're this and we're that, we could be this and we could be that.
Speaker 1Strong, pretty delicate, but with thorns that'll put you in your place if you mess around. Right, Exactly.
Speaker 2So are you ready to?
Speaker 1introduce the girls. Yeah, you want me to start first?
Speaker 2Yeah, or you want to start first no, go ahead.
Speaker 1Who should I start with?
Speaker 2Well, jisoo, do we want to start? No, go ahead. Who should I start with? Uh what?
Speaker 1well, jisu, do we have difference? Um, I'm going by chronological order. Well, I went by like there was a certain order on the um fan page, so I don't know. And then, and then I accidentally rearranged my papers by age, and then I rearranged them by astrological signs, so now I don't know where I am with.
Speaker 2Okay, uh, do you want me to start the name and you can say their birthday? And uh, sure, sure, all right. So we're going to start with jisoo all right, got her right here.
Speaker 1She's lee ji-soo. She's actually from south korea, in chion, south korea yes, september 8th 2000. She's a virgo dragon so you're the dragon, but she's a virgo, nice um our next one.
Speaker 1I have wait, I was gonna just throw in oh, okay, she's listed as a singer, dancer and I made little notes about each of their voices, okay. So I'm just gonna let everyone know. When you're listening, when you hear the melodic, golden, soothing voice with a really good range, that's her. I was studying them. I I cheated and watched one of their dance practice things to see who sang what parts, and then I was like making notes on their voices because I was like who sings what?
Speaker 2well, I want to say I cheated because I saw their most latest video, which is bad love oh, I haven't watched that yet okay I just I was watched.
Speaker 1Like I said, it was one of their dance practice ones, okay cool, but anyway, all right.
Speaker 2Our next lady is Momoka.
Speaker 1Ah, yes, she's the rapper One of the rappers, they've got two and her name is Takabatake Momoka and she is from Tokyo, japan, august 27, 2004. She is a Taurus monkey.
Speaker 2As a rapper, she's got a strong, vibrant, full deeper voice.
Speaker 1She's like your rough, rough rapper, just so you know.
Speaker 2Yes, and you're listening, you'll, you'll pick it out. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Our next one will be chica chica, tariki chica.
Speaker 1She is also from oh wait, no, she's from Fukuoka, japan. She's another Virgo and she's also a monkey Virgo. Monkey is sort of in the lead as far as the signs. Oh, I forgot August 31st 2004. 2004. Now she's listed as singer-dan. She definitely. She has a deep, rich voice. She does rap, though occasionally I've caught her in the rap line stuff. So she and Momoka have sort of a similar sound, but one is definitely more rapper, one is definitely more singer okay, and we have our next, next call now fuji naoko.
Speaker 1She is from osaka, osaka, japan, obviously, uh, august 23rd 2005, she's a virgo rooster. So are we on our third virgo?
Speaker 2I think this is the third virgo girl, wow now she's a singer dancer also.
Speaker 1They're, they're all singer dancer. I sort of feel like they all do a little of everything, but anyways, she's the sweet sort of silvery, melodious voice, kind of the high soprano that you hear. That's usually her. Again, like I said, they're sort of they like to interchange a little, I think you know, mix it up. But those were the the qualities that I noticed most from each of them okay, uh, next will be koharu ino, koharu Ino. Koharu from Kumagaya, saitama, japan, october 9th 2005. Libra rooster.
Speaker 2Oh, another rooster, Another rooster.
Speaker 1But Libra, so balances everybody out.
Speaker 2Yes, she is balancing the group.
Speaker 1Poor girl. She's a singer-dancer. She's this sort of sweet but smooth mid-range, so she's like an alto. All of them have great voices, just different characters. It was really cool. Started doing this, like watching and being like oh, oh, anyways, so next person next person will be y.
Speaker 1She is just Yuri, that's all it says on the bio. I was like Yuri Interesting Tokyo, japan, virgo, you're the dog Cool. But another Virgo, they are like just ruling the zodiac here. So she's singer-dancer, she's the clear, rich, robust alto, okay. So she's more, just a little deeper than our other alto, the other mid-range.
Speaker 2Okay, last but not least, it will be Hina, and she is the baby.
Speaker 1Yes, my Hina. She is from Tokyo, Japan.
Speaker 2March 25, 2009.ries ox. Now she is a march baby, but not a pisces yep, because she's too late and she's an ox just like me hey hey, well, yuri is a dog like me, but I was gonna say so. The two youngest of the group have our signs. We can vibe with them. We can vibe with them definitely.
Speaker 1But she's, um, also a rapper singer and she's the like, sweet, charming, cute rap who gets a little unhinged once in a while, wow. So like when you hear that that's her.
Speaker 2Hey, that is fine. That is fine. You know what? Which birthday did you say she?
Deep Dive: "Drop" Analysis
Speaker 1has marina, march 25th 2009 all right cool why no?
Speaker 2I saw somebody like uh, never mind, somebody has a birthday run. I'm not saying somebody posted it on the 29, but anyways, oh well as you know, I knew.
Speaker 1Remember, we had someone once we were like, oh, their name is their sign, and it turned out that that was not correct because somebody had messed something up.
Speaker 2So you know it's like and. But the thing is they're kind of from the same company they are.
Speaker 1So it's someone in their company putting in the wrong information. I don't know somebody's taking some.
Speaker 2I don't know, I don't know anyways moving on.
Speaker 1Well, either way, the 25th or the 29th, she's still a solid aries.
Speaker 2Yes, not a completely different sign, Anyways, oh man. So Sarah and I, we actually listened to the six songs that are out there right now. They just dropped a new song called Bad Love, which, by the way, I threw it out there to Sarah and she's like wait a minute. I was just listening to five songs and all of a sudden this new song comes up. I'm like it just came out. We gotta listen.
Speaker 1I figured that's what happened, because I was like how could we have missed the song if it was out there already, because we made this playlist? I mean, we started talking about doing this oh my goodness, yes, a month and a half ago.
Speaker 2Yes, I don't even remember A month, been months that we've been listening to these songs and then we stop and then listen, and then stop and then listen. Yeah, everybody. Our lives are a bit cray cray lately.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2Very, very cray cray. Maybe we could do like an episode of what's going on in our lives, but only post it to those who subscribe. Oh yeah, If you really want to know the tea of what's going on in Sarah Shee's and Panic's life we'll put it for only the subscribers.
Speaker 2We're going to only put it exclusively for the subscribers, so you'll know exactly what is going on in our lives, because it's been craigree. Yes, anyways, with that taken with that out of my chest. Um, we're gonna be talking about, you know the song. Drop burning flower, rose tiger, not blue jeans, since we already yeah, that was on our singles.
Speaker 1One of our singles episodes, the music episodes but we're gonna talk about what happened. I accidentally move in my hand and I hit my microphone. So okay, it was just I'm sure you'll hear that oh, and I know you will hear that you'll be, and I know you will hear that You'll be like dang it. That was me.
Speaker 2And, of course, the new song Bad Love. Anyways, all right, we're going to re-listen to Drop, and then we'll give her banter. Are you ready, miss Sierra? I am here we go.
Speaker 1All right After our re-listen together so we could watch each other's reactions to it? Yeah, we're bopping and dancing, you know. I love. The opening is almost like classical music at piano, and then that piano just keeps going. It's just this repetitive all the way through. It's very sort of a strange classical sound. But it's also got this sinister, like I don't know, espionage, undercover, kind of sneaking around. Feel to it too. You know what I mean. It's like this action. And then you said something.
Speaker 2That drop that bass, oh yeah the bass.
Speaker 1I was waiting for you to say that bass, I'm like the drop the bass.
"Burning Flower" Breakdown
Speaker 2Yeah For a debut song. This is strong, always love this. When it comes to a debut group, when they have something like this, oh, it gets my heart, it gets me. This is this is what I like. This is what I love. Where I debuted a song for my new, a new artist drop come on, and then that bass, that I that a drop oh, and I mean that's so good reverb the girl's attitude.
Speaker 2Come on. I was like, yeah, you can tell that these are chanmina children. They have actually channeled chanmina's attitude and poise and just delivery. And they, they're like we're not mama, we're not gonna disappoint you, we are your daughters, we are your babies, we are gonna make you proud. And let me tell you this song wow, wow, wow, wow. And for a debut song it's yeah chills. I was like yeah, this group's gonna make it, this group is gotta make it, because they're just that good?
Speaker 1oh yeah, definitely. Chanmina actually has writing credit on every single one of these songs, so that's sort of her attitude yep, her attitude, dripping in, oh yeah, through to these girls and they're picking it up and they're oh yeah, they're running with it and they're making it work well, you know, chanmina's like, like.
Speaker 2You gotta make it like this, you gotta do blah blah, you know oh yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1I really like how this song, like you think about, drop right, there's the whole drop in the bass, drop in that sound, drop in a new song, but also, like a drop in a puddle in a lake, in an ocean, still makes a ripple, makes a wave. Yes, you know what I mean. Yes, so like they're dropping in every sense of the word. Oh yeah, they're making a wave too. And one thing that stood out to me really well throughout the whole song is when they say don't want to be perfect, yeah, because we don't need to be. Nope, we're doing us, we're doing what we want to do. Mm-hmm, and they're doing it well.
Speaker 2Yes, they are.
Speaker 1So they can pat themselves on the back. Anyways, exactly this song. Like you said for a debut song, this is just kapow oh yes. Boom oh yes. Love oh yes.
Speaker 2Boom. Oh yes, Love it. If it didn't grab you, then I guess I could miss Not your vibe, that is fine. If it didn't grab you, that's okay. For those who actually were like, yeah and I'm like I'm with you, boo, definitely, this is like wow, yes, I love this kind of debut song.
Speaker 1Love. Well, because, yeah, it's strong without being a love song. It's strong without being like a hyper dance tune, it's just like it is solid musically, vocally, everything. Yeah, it's just like I like the.
Speaker 2You know, each girl have their own attitude, you know, one is like you know, I'm giving you the two. The other one is like I'm a soul tree, you know, and the other one, you know it, I'm giving you the two. The other one is like I'm a soul tree, you know, and the other one, you know, it could be like. You know, I'm a little bit of a loof or it's like. You know, I'm like kind of you know yeah. It has. You know the different flowers, different hyenas.
Speaker 1Yes, but that piano, like the mix between the piano and the bass all the way through, that is just so kind of wild. It's like you're on a wild ride.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, Composition of the song is awesome. It is Very good production.
Speaker 1Absolutely.
Speaker 2So next song, All right.
Speaker 1Which one are we?
Speaker 2We are going to be listening a little bit for Burning Flower Okay, now that you know that. Be listening a little bit for Burning Flower Okay, now that you know that was dropped. That was like Burning Flower Mm Ooh, this one is fun. This one is fun. Are you ready, miss Sierra?
Speaker 1I am ready, ah, burning Flower yes.
Speaker 2I'm the hottest one let them know who that is. Oh girl, I love that line so much, I know, right, I love that line so much. I look like a crazy person in the car when I was listening to that one omg.
Speaker 1Well, this is the one, this is the makina unhinged. I was talking about her rap in this. She's like in your face. Oh my god, it's awesome.
Speaker 2She really excites it, like just just like really gives it to you and I'm like yeah, you go, girl cheese, oh yeah, definitely you know it's burning flour, but they were like spitting flour.
Speaker 2I mean, you know spitting fire with flowers. You know the whole like latin that had the latino vibe in it, you know, just to make it hot, you know, because everything latino is hot, of course, like myself, I'm latina, so I'm hot. So, anyways, so it that vibe of the, the bass, again very boom, boom, boom, just to vibe. The girls are out there giving the attitude, that hotness, and just like, yeah, you know we're here. You know we're here. You know we're the burning flower. You know the hottest Hanas out there, atsui, I thought I heard that many times Atsui.
Speaker 2Atsui. It's like, yeah, it's hot in here. Now the ending of that song. It got a little bit sinister. It has that musical box that you like to hear. Yeah, that demented jack-in-the-box exactly, and of course, even the ending of the lyrics is that, you know, like well whatever, you know, I translated that last line because I was like what are they saying?
Speaker 1because they're saying it with attitude right exactly it's. The flames will never stop, oh girl. So they're like, we're on fire and we're gonna stay on fire, girl, so approach with caution definitely.
Speaker 1That delivery goes very well with those lyrics definitely, definitely, definitely oh well, what I like is at the beginning of this, when they're it's sort of just a vocal with a little bit of, you know, the piano in the background. But yeah, you hear echoey voices in the background singing along with them, like interjecting into the vocals, the main vocal, like it's very faint again. So, everybody, you need your headphones you do.
Speaker 2To hear this, you do. You need headphones, because there's other things in the background that gives it that flavor.
Speaker 1And that weird music boxy sound pops up all throughout. Same thing, but not constant. So it's just all of a sudden I started noticing it more while we were listening to Just Now. I was like hey, there's that sound again.
Speaker 2But, it's like when you listen to music in the car, you definitely miss some of the little details that are in the music, oh yeah. But when you put your headphones on you know it's like wow, what is that? And it just blending is so well so with production always, and it's even wow, what is that? And it just the blending is so well so the production always amazing, and it's even different from your, like earbuds, you know.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, that you can use at work. You still you miss a couple of things here and there, oh yeah, but yeah, this was just like that measured steady. They just everything about you know I'm the hottest one. Yep, ats. They just everything about you know I'm the hottest one. Yeah, that's we have to. You know, like they're. Let them know who that is. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2Like everything, even if she's saying I'm the hottest, like screaming it's not screaming like a cray cray. It's just like the hottest one. You know, like, um, just like exclamation point I'm the hottest one come on.
"Rose" and Its Latin Influences
Speaker 1So yeah, this is another good one.
Speaker 2This is like oh yeah, this is like one of my favorites, one of my favorites, so like girl power. Oh yeah, definitely. Anyway, moving on to the next song, um, it's gonna be rose, rose, okay, yes I'm like are you reading mine are out of order.
Speaker 1For some reason you are. Yeah, my list is out of order, I don't know why.
Speaker 2Okay, but anyway, are you ready?
Speaker 1miss, I am here, we go girl, another hot one come on well and that, like the powerhouse vocals, naoko, this is where she's like. She shines with that high note. I'm pretty sure it's her whoever, if it's not her, whoever's singing that high note. Wow, yeah, I mean, the deep rapper voice is really deep, that high vocal really high, and everybody in between just harmonizing so well. Yeah, oh, my God. And, as you pointed out, you said to me right away there's that piano, your piano.
Speaker 2There's the piano. Start the piano. It's like do-do-do-do-do-do-do.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, when they were writing these was like we need piano. It seems to be that who?
Speaker 2yeah, exactly whoever was writing for you know, composing the music? They're very piano. They like to use the piano to write music and they just leave it in.
Speaker 1Yeah, now they make it work.
Speaker 2They just make it work. Just like we you know some of our faves sometimes will like to prefer a guitar over a piano, and then also it changes the mood if they use a guitar from a piano, which it does, so definitely. I like that because there's not many at least what I have listened lately not much piano in it.
Speaker 2But they're using it now for the girl groups and for this for Hana. They've been using that a lot, At least on these three songs that we have been listening to right now. But the girls here, definitely different mood you know you do have, but this is like split for me. In the middle you have all your strong girls and then the other ones are a little bit more delicate, but not like, not delicate but more elegant yeah, you know we have.
Speaker 1There's the extremes, yeah, the high and the low, and then and then everybody in in the middle keeping that harmony, like keeping that balance right. Sorry, I didn't mean. So. The elegance, yes you know.
Speaker 2so we have, you know, the strong girls, the elegant girls, and it just makes it all work together. And of course, the composition was kind of I thought we're gonna start jazzy, but then it was like more like a latin, like we like to call it, and then very driven the bass was there, but not as heavy as the previous songs.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Which, of course, the name is Rose. You know, rose is still delicate, but for some reason, you know what I noticed too? That when they compose a song that is called Rose or Rosa, they like to give that latin vibe. Where roses more from spain, I'm trying to think, yeah, more of a european flower, and also like the flamenco somebody has. They're always wearing roses in their face, in their heads, you know, like on your head. It also their mouth too, yeah you know carrying the rose around yeah, I think it's.
Speaker 1It's definitely a european and I think it's the weather like roses are pretty hardy, but they're also beautiful and delicate looking, and that's actually one of the things they say about you know, being in bloom and all of that. But then they're like with my beautiful thorns. With my beautiful thorns, with my beautiful thorns, yeah, because all of me is beautiful, not just the wonderful bloom at top and the delicate petals Right. Even those thorns are beautiful because it's part of the whole. That's all of me, mm-hmm, every aspect. So you got to take it or leave it, and that's kind of what I feel this song is saying. It's like you got to deal with all of my, my delicate beauty, but also the beautiful thorns that come with it. Yep, I can be. I'll be sweet and wonderful. Piss me off, I'm gonna prick you. Treat me wrong, grab me wrong, you know. Yep, I'll hurt you. Yeah, which is true. Handle with care.
"Tiger" - Powerful and Predatory
Speaker 2Yeah, exactly, exactly, all right so now that you say I will hurt you or handle with care, we're going to listen now to Tiger Girl. Mm-hmm, oh yeah. So from a rose now to a tiger. Oh my God, this one's also really good. Another fame, all right, are you ready, miss Sierra? I am ready, ready, okay, here we go. Tiger baby, oh yeah, omg, because I'm a tiger baby, this ain't no pussy cats, that's for sure.
Speaker 1Oh, no, no, no, these are no little kitty cats, a big cat oh yeah, they're.
Speaker 2Well, they say they're gonna bite you if they get the catcher. They're gonna bite you, they're gonna hunt you down. Oh yeah, oh yeah, that's you better run away, they're gonna get you. Please. Another strong song.
Speaker 1I like they're like the whole, like roof, you know yes, that growl what well, in the that whole opening that piano this is another heavy piano, it's sort of jazzy like and then the music itself sort of starts to sound like prowling, like a big cat moving through the woods and that's. Those are some of the best lines.
Speaker 2Like you better run and like you said the piano. Like make it heavy yeah I mean a tiger, I mean it's gonna step heavy but stealthy.
Speaker 1You know what I mean Like, they're like yeah.
Speaker 2The delivery. Oh my God, their delivery. You know, they're just like very yeah, it's just angry, hungry, it's just like yeah, well, they growl at you, I know.
Speaker 1Full on growl.
Speaker 2This is not two. This is just like yeah, I'm gonna catch you. Like yeah, well it's like what do they?
Speaker 1they say I can hunt you down, I'll find you if you come around. Yep, I'm gonna bite you, baby run run yeah, oh, I'm a time you're like, dang.
Speaker 2I know you're so young chickies, that's why I'm like, but your baby is what the heck are you doing?
Speaker 1but wow, wow, the, the powerhouse voices in this.
Speaker 2Yeah, oh yeah, this was for the melodic divas that were out there with the voices. Our rapper girls were also like, like you got the tooth. But this is more the.
Speaker 1It's like wow, they were growly, they were, oh, they were perfect yeah, I was gonna say they sort of purr into the growl yes they just they got the the whole idea tiger down yeah, and I love how they start it, though I know, with that little attitude I know, I love that little attitude, yeah the attitude that says well, there is a, a flower called a tiger lily.
Speaker 1So there you go. It still fits into the sort of whole. Yes, it does flower theme with them. Wow my god. But yeah, this song, this is just like such a fun song. Yes, the energy about it's just sort of oh my god, it's like a cat playing with a toy, it's playful, it is playful. You see those. You know anybody watches those youtube videos of big cats playing with things like. That's what it is. It seems they're toying with whatever exactly they're toying with this person, whoever that was, you'll run away.
Speaker 2I'll catch you just like a mice, yeah you know, because I'm a tiger.
Speaker 1Yes, wow, oh my God, so good.
Speaker 2So, last but not least, we're not going to talk about blue jeans, because we already have on our previous episode. Please check that out. It's one of our singles and that's when we said we need to do a deep dive on the girls, and then it's like things happen Anyways. Dive on the girls and then it's like things happen anyways. So they drop a new song called bad love. That just I want to say in 24 hours don't quote me on it, but just in a very short time that video, when it dropped million views like wow, yeah, that that was.
Speaker 1I was seeing some of their posts about it and they were like thank you for what it was.
Speaker 2It just I was just like so happy for them, I'm just so happy for them. This is amazing. They just drop and I can't wait for an album. They haven't dropped an album. If they do have something, it's maybe just only in japan, but whatever that we have like on streaming platforms, it's only like six songs, you know, including with the new one, with the new yeah single.
Speaker 2So so I mean, come on, chamina, maybe that's why she's not coming to the us yet, because she's trying to get an album for the girls which I get it because come on, promote them, get them out there, yeah just with these six songs, it's like wow all right so yes, we're going to then deep dive on bad love that one does not feature the piano heavily.
Speaker 1No, this is guitar see now this composition.
"Bad Love" - Emo Guitar Vibes
Speaker 2Somebody was using the guitar because this was more half guitar heavy definitely, and this was someone influenced by like 90s indie rock I was feeling emo girl, yeah, that too I was feeling like if um, afi, you know chemical romance kind of time it was giving me that. You know it was the that guitar.
Speaker 1There was something about. It was very like the 90s indie move which did sort of morph into some emo stuff oh yeah I just I felt emo. This is totally different than the sort of like electro pop yes other songs. Yes, like this is this was.
Speaker 2This was more greedy dark.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, definitely the whole idea of this song is really.
Speaker 2The title says that all bad love like whoa, something happened here, because and they could say I'm just a kid, I'm just a kid, you know, was this a bad breakup, bad love, like they said you know, sticking with a relationship that's not working out exactly, you know, like that's.
Speaker 1That's sort of the feeling I got about it like what do you expect from me?
Speaker 2yeah, there's like I'm gonna, let's like I'm gonna leave you and go, then you're, then I'm gonna miss you, and then it's, I was like, wow and yeah, want to get away from this bad love, but want to stay with this bad love, exactly.
Speaker 1Yeah, you feel sort of that tortured torment, definitely emo.
Speaker 2Definitely emo. That's what I felt. It was totally emo.
Speaker 1But it was like I said it was, that beginning guitar sound was very much like it was a sad wailing. Yeah, well, you know there was something else. It's um some 50, not 50, 60s darker pop. There was an australian band called the easy beats. They played dark, moody guitar like that.
Speaker 1Leave it to the aussies, right. But um, yeah, when everybody else was doing pop, they were, and so it had a little bit of that too. It's definitely this darker. Yeah, like the beat is is really driving and it's it sounds like it should be going somewhere happy and it never does right, it just sort of rolls in the dark it also feels rushed, like you're on the run you know it was driving like you're always on the run, on the run.
Speaker 2You know like you're trying. You're trying to escape this bad love.
Speaker 1But it's gonna keep pulling you back in.
Speaker 2You know, yeah, even the delivery that the girls were doing. You know it's like despaired and angry and anxious like on edge about stuff. Yeah, it's very it's like I don't know what to do like I don't want to be here, but but I don't want to leave, and I don't want to leave, but I but I gotta get out in it but I can't get out.
Speaker 1It's crazy.
Speaker 2It's sort of like, yeah, almost a feeling of being trapped and it's like but I'm just a kid, you know, and you know and understand me. You know that I, you know that I cannot. You know I got to live my life. It's very emotional. I did saw the video for this.
Speaker 1I'll have to check it out, this video is dark.
Speaker 2Yeah, each girl is in a bad scenario. Well then, yes, that is definitely bad love, exactly On one of them. One of them, one of the girls, comes out of a trunk of a car and she's tied up. Oh wow, exactly.
Speaker 1Yikes.
Speaker 2And that's all I have to say. All right, wow, then the rest of the girls are not in good. All of them are in some kind of predicament.
Speaker 1All right, I'll definitely have to check it out now. Definitely, definitely.
Speaker 2This group is going places. I am so happy this group is going places.
Speaker 1I am so happy. Well, it's awesome because the sounds are all different with these songs, right, but this one definitely went somewhere else. Yes, like this. Well, drop is kind of also more on the heavy like sound wise, it's a little heavier. The bass yeah, it's less of the sort of electro poppy that the others are.
Speaker 2It's more.
Speaker 1But this song, just wow, and another one, written composed, produced by Chanmina, oh yeah. Well, think about her music too, oh yeah.
Speaker 2Chanmina.
Speaker 1We did a few of her singles as well. You can check those out. Yeah, she's got a dark side to her.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, she's awesome. That's why I love her, you know, that's why I love her. Just like, yeah, just love her vibe, love the way she writes, the way she carries herself, you know, ah, love, love, love. Yeah, chantina, come on, she's definitely training these girls.
Speaker 1Well, yes, that's one thing I've noticed, like the dance practice, that I watched the videos. The way they move and the way they carry themselves is very much how she moves and how she carries herself, so it's cool. I enjoyed all of these songs so much. Yes, and I think you're definitely gonna. You're gonna find something you can vibe to I, I definitely, yeah, I.
Speaker 2I love this group. I'm adore this group. It's now my fave, one of my faves from the you know japanese girl groups, you know and uh, because even blue jeans, it's like another song that you sing along with you know and that one is another whole sound to it as well.
Speaker 1Yeah, exactly, it's more melodic, it's sweet yeah a little like slower tempo and just sort of. We won't give it too much away because you should go listen to our singles episode Exactly, but you know that is so funny because this one, of course, comes before Bad Love.
Speaker 2It's like this is the one that you meet, that special person, but what's happening? Oh no, it's a bad love. Oh dude.
Speaker 1Exactly, oh dude.
Speaker 2So I can't wait to hear the next song. See what's going on after getting out of that bad love. Hey, come on.
Speaker 1it's turning into a whole story, a whole yeah, series of why not?
Speaker 2come on? Chamina's probably thinking of something I know right, she's gonna have a movie she should, I mean someone. Yeah, she has done stuff like that. Some of her videos are kind of like that, kind of like continuation from something that she has done previously. Yeah, the geese, the geese are leaving massachusetts.
Speaker 1I'm not sure anybody could actually hear it, but we could. We heard that they were loud.
Speaker 2Yeah, the geese are headed south if you if you heard the geese over the microphones. Just to let you know that, yes, the temperature is changing and the geese are actually going away to a warmer climate.
Speaker 1Anyways, anything else, miss sarah no, just be sure to check out, hana, because, wow, yes yes there is definitely we are.
Speaker 2I'm invested in Hana. How about you?
Speaker 1Yes, I am For sure.
Speaker 2I am so invested in Hana. I can't wait Come on.
Speaker 1I watched a video so I could pick out each voice. I was like wow, For seven people to have seven different voices.
Speaker 2You know what I mean. Yes, you can tell who's who.
Speaker 1And, like I said, everybody, there's times where you're like oh, but that's chica, but she's, she's doing a little bit of rap, right, you know what I mean. So they all sort of play around with their assigned parts, but right well, you know, they're honing their voices they're you know like oh, so your tone is this let's try this.
Speaker 2That's what I like. Yeah, that's when it should. That's how it should make them work together.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's when it should. That's how it should make them work together.
Final Thoughts and Subscriber Teaser
Speaker 2Yeah, that's how it should be, so you can have a very strong vocals group. You know, it cannot always be looks come on, oh yeah.
Speaker 1No, but getting variety like this doesn't always happen right there's.
Speaker 2You know it's hard, yeah, so it's. You gotta have a really good eye and chamina does well good ear, you gotta have a good eye good ear. Thank you for the correction.
Speaker 1A good ear because there's there's deep and there's high and there's mid-range, but they're all just different enough right that they blend, but they also stand out.
