Five songs. Three countries. Zero dull moments. We kick off with Japan’s Six Lounge, a trio that proves rock’s heartbeat is still loud and live. The track is all lift and launch: punchy drums, humming bass, and guitar flashes that nod to classic grit while sounding clean and current. It’s the kind of sound that drags you into motion—head, hands, and maybe an air guitar solo.
Then we slide into a velvet lane with China’s Tia Ray and Heart Shaped Hole. A Spanish-tinged guitar loop meets soft R&B swing while her vocal ties it together with poise and bite. The imagery is intimate and memorable, turning a love song into a promise to do it right and do it slow. It’s the kind of hook that lingers long after the fade.
Alamat’s Sinigang, named after the beloved Filipino sour-and-savory soup, is comfort rendered in sound. Minimal percussion, delicate keys, and harmonies that bloom like steam from a bowl. Produced by member Alas, the arrangement leaves room for voices to intertwine, capturing the sweet-and-sour ache of longing and the warmth of being held by a melody you trust.
We shift gears with Tomohisa Yamashita’s The Artist, a pop-rock cut built on a relentless cadence—a tattoo in rhythm and permanence. Smooth vocals ride a gritty bed as Yamapi frames the artist-fan bond as both fuel and vow: I’ll be strong for you, can you see me? It’s precise, propulsive, and unashamedly direct.
To close, a hypercharged collision: Mori Calliope x Kenty’s Gold Unbalance. Sparse spark, then blast-off—new metal edges, EDM swells, even a jazzy flicker—plus two rap breaks that snap without stepping on each other. Her fierce attack and his grounded glide lock back to back, no matter what.
If you love discovering global music that actually flows as a playlist—rock that roars, R&B that soothes, pop that pulses, and a collab that rockets—this one’s for you.

Cold Open: Music On The Brain
SPEAKER_03Welcome everybody to another episode of Music Elixir with me, Satter Sheet, and Mr.
SPEAKER_00Japanic. Yeah. We're gonna rock and roll. And do some body rolls. Yes. So we're talking, we're gonna be chatting about five songs. Yes, we are. Singles. Yep. Yes. Singles that actually they came out in November. Um, I know you're listening uh to this episode in December.
SPEAKER_03But uh well, we need time to listen to them once they come out. Right, you know.
SPEAKER_00So we're recording on December 6th. Just to uh let people know. So so some of you already have heard these songs. So you're just gonna hear our reaction of what we heard.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, our take on it.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Some of these we already know about. I think some we have not discussed at all. Artist-wise, you mean? Yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yes. There's three new ones. And two that well, actually, one of them we haven't really talked about him in a solo sense, I don't think. We've talked about him in relation to other groups that he was in, his acting.
SPEAKER_00I don't think we did a deep dive on him. No, I don't think so either. And if we did maybe a song, yeah, I can't remember.
SPEAKER_03Probably, but it was a while ago. I've thought about it. I'm like, there is so much music like in my head. Yes, that I'm constantly, how do I remember all of these things? How do I recall all these things? Because it's like it's music and nothing else. My brain has no capacity for anything other than music.
SPEAKER_00Do you? I'm sure you this happens to you too. If you hear somebody say like a phrase that sounds of a song that you love, and just pops in your head, and then you start singing it.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. Or you see something that reminds you of a line from a song or just brings back a memory of the song. You you remember something you were doing when it first came out, or when you were last listening to it, and it's yeah. It it's I just have a soundtrack constantly in my head playing that I don't even always sort of realize. It's just there.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Because we're music addicts and we listen to so many stuff and things that we love, we just keep it on repeat.
SPEAKER_03So it really gets stuck in your head, you know. My father used to yell at me that uh like when I'd be singing something and he's like, Why do you need to know the lyrics to this? Like, like he just appreciates music as something he hears. And I'm like, No, I know all the lyrics to this song. And he's like, Yeah, well, that and 25 cents won't get you a cup of coffee. Oh my god. Like, come on, dad. His way of saying there's more to life. I was like, There's not.
SPEAKER_00No, it's music. It's the heartbeat, it's the heartbeat of the world and every human. Oh, speaking of every and the heartbeat of the world and every human. I have a co-worker who's not really into music. I was like, what? For me, that was so foreign. I'm like, really? You just don't enjoy any music? And they're like, it's not any. There might be a song, yeah, but I'm not really like go out there and get an album. I'm like, what? What planet are you from?
SPEAKER_03That's like yeah, such a foreign concept.
SPEAKER_00It's just and I'm like, I know, I'm like, I know you're speaking English, but I don't understand. You know, it felt like that. I was a second they say that you know, their partner do love music, they're total opposite from them, and they like to dance, go to clubs, listen to music, like the music in the card, you know, they do it, and I'm like, okay, so I will be vibing with your partner.
SPEAKER_03But the my coworker is cool, it's just yeah, I was yeah, no, it's always odd to me when people say, Oh, well, I don't know, I don't really listen to much. And I'm like, How is that possible? Yeah, like the world is filled with music, filled. There's so many different things to choose from, and nothing sparks interest in you. And that's like I said, just such a strange idea to me. Yeah. Because I had a a roommate in college that was like that. She'd be like, Why do you always have music on? It's distracting. And I was like, See, for me, it's not. Exactly. I was like, I just need it in the background to keep me moving, and sometimes it keeps me focused, and sometimes it just allows me to sort of escape whatever you know thoughts are running around my head. Exactly. Yeah, we didn't last long as real. Yeah. There were a lot of other problems and differences, but that was one of the big ones. I was like, sorry, I need music.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So yeah. I yeah, that I think that was I was basing most of my dates on like what kind of music you listen to. You know, this is back in the 20s, you know, yeah, my 20s. You know, it's like, so what who are you listening to? What are you listening to? It's like, oh, okay. You know, depends. Either I will judge you or be like, hey, I don't know. Okay. This is how much I'd be when I'm on air, I'm like, I'm addicted to music, everybody. Come on. There's so much going on in my head, and just music, just love. Anyways. So um, some of these songs are gonna be in my roster. Um, I say favorites. Going back to the playlist. After that banter. We had a after that banter, because that's how we are, we jump into different talks. So we have, let's see. Actually, you know what? This was one of these artists is gonna be our first Chinese. I don't think uh no. Jackson Wine is Chinese. Never mind. Do we talk about Jackson Wine? Well, female Oh oh, okay. Female Chinese artists. There we go.
SPEAKER_03There, alright, yeah. Okay, I don't believe we've done any.
Episode Setup: Five November Singles
Six Lounge: Pure Rock And Roll
SPEAKER_00We don't do yeah, there's not many that we can get a hold of. I know there's plenty, but to get a hold of music, no that we can get. Anyways, but let's start with this band from Japan. The name of the group is Six Lounge. They've been around since 2012. Just to give you a little bit of rundown on the group. Uh, if this is the first time you ever heard of Six Lounge, it's a trio, but they have this group have evolved through the years, especially with bass players. But I'm gonna give you the current lineup right now. It's gonna be with Yamaguchi Komori, he's vocals and guitar, Iwau Ruki, bass, churus, chorus as well. He joined on 2015, and then we have four drums Nagamatsu Shintaro. Yes, right? We should check. No, so they're from Aui Tiita, Japan. Like I said, they formed back in 2012. So these are veteran rockers, and we can tell in the music. Now, I want to have you go your feels on this song that is rock and roll.
SPEAKER_03Well, the first thing that struck me was they reminded me of a combination of The Damned and the Foo Fighters. Like if you blended those two bands together, because it's very like old school rock and roll, but also very modern sounding. So, like I said, classic rock and roll, great brace, getting ahead of myself. Okay, bass and drums. I was trying to blend those two words together. And those occasional like screeching sounds of the guitar coming in and out. Like there's this really like which is a very rock and roll kind of sound. There's awesome progression of sound all the way through. They sort of slowly build on guitar comes in, then the drums really start, and the bass, and then the vocals just blast in as another whole instrument, and it just culminates into this like explosion of music at one point, and you're just like, you can't help but sort of let loose, sort of headbang a little, sort of wave your arms around, play air guitar along with them. Just so intense. It's incredible. And I just feel like they're sort of paying tribute and saluting the fact that this is the age of rock and roll. Because somewhere I heard them say, Jedi rock and roll. So this is the age of rock and roll because rock and roll is timeless and it's always gonna be sort of at the forefront of the music scene. Like you're never gonna get rid of just classic rock and roll sound, and that's sort of what I took from this. And that's that's Matt's take on it. How about you? I just I loved it. I loved this song. I was like, gotta hear it again, gotta hear it again.
SPEAKER_00If you are a music addict like we are, that we have been listening to like classicals, to like, you know, old, you know, honky tongue to like, you know, whatever. Because there's some hunky tongue songs that are really awesome. Oh, yeah, definitely. Even though some people are like, ew, country. And I'm like, there's some country songs.
SPEAKER_03You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Well, no, I'm not talking about this song, but I'm talking about us. No, no, no, no. I'm saying honky tongue.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah. When you talk about, I don't always think it's like its own thing.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. But anyway, so to me, this song is like raw, energetic, just like rock and roll. The track gives pure rock from nostalgic 70s and 80s. You have actually mentioned it. The guitar riffs, come on. So much fun that it just got me air guitar. Did you air guitar? Because there's some parts that you have to air guitar.
SPEAKER_03I did, I said that. You know, like bang your head, wave your arms, air guitar.
SPEAKER_00The vocals, oh my god, the vocals of Yamaguchi, jeez, are so like that the raspy and the song, so like oh yes, that's typical, like rock singer. Love now. The drums, they were loud, powerful, but we sometimes it also went so well. Now, you know, the bass player and the drummers, they gotta be in that unison. Oh my goodness, those two together, mmm, beautiful. Because that bass, it was like singing and humming with the beat. I mean, I was hearing them both. I'm like, God, this is so awesome. Sometimes I feel like there's a duet with the drummer and the bass player that I'm like, the singer, he's doing his thing, but it's like there's a love relationship with the drummer and the bass player that I love completely, and they were just really going along. I love that relationship when it comes with drummers and bass players, and it just enjoyed the song a lot because it was like the nostalgic, the energy, just the energy, and just so familiar of some other you know, artists that we have heard in the past. Of course, in Japanese, but I mean it was amazing. It was just they're still they're veterans, yeah, since 2012.
SPEAKER_03Because his voice was conveying something to you, even if you don't understand the words, his just growling, sort of, you know, and then semi-yelling like you're like, he's telling you something very, very adamantly from his heart about rock and roll.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he doesn't overdo it, which I have heard another singer who's Japanese and very well known, he just overdoes it, which I'm kind of ashamed that he has been changed his style of you know singing, unless he's just having issues with his voice. I don't know, but I'm not saying names, but Sarah knows who I'm talking about. And um he used to be really good with his vocals when it comes to rock, but then I don't know what happened, anyways. But Yanagucchi, hey, love, love his vocals, he's amazing.
SPEAKER_03Yes, incredible song. Yeah, if you're a rock and roll enthusiast, especially, yes, you will totally vibe with the song.
SPEAKER_00You will enjoy the song. A lot. I think a lot. You will air guitar, definitely, definitely.
SPEAKER_03Maybe air drum too, because that the drummer's incredible. Yeah, that's some some real good work going on in there.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. Oh, the bass player too. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Everybody all like I said, even the guitar, because there's that point where it's like you know, I mean, it's just very clear and very strong sound without being overbearing, like not your rock soloist being like, you know what I mean? It's just very simple, but makes a statement. So yeah, this is this is your pure rock and roll song.
SPEAKER_00Awesome. Now, want to move on to the next song?
SPEAKER_03Sure. Are we going in order? Yes, okay. Wanted to make sure. Because otherwise I have to rearrange my notes.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm just gonna be yeah, in order from now on. Anyways, because it's just like it's it's easier for me for now. Anyways, so our next artist, her name is Tia Rei with the song Heart Shape Whole that was released on November 21st. Uh, a little bit of information on Tia Rei. Uh, she was born Yuan Ya Wei. She is a highly acclaimed Chinese song singer-songwriter known as China's Soul and Pop Queen. Uh, follow for blending traditional Chinese sound with contemporary RB and soul, achieving massive success with hits like Be Apart and earning international recognition and numerous awards while also gaining fame from the show The Voice of China.
SPEAKER_03Yes, she's busy, she is busy. Well, I saw in the credits she does she does have writing credits on this song. Yes, also, so that's cool.
SPEAKER_00It is awesome. Oh my god, her voice. Jeez, oh my goodness. Tia's voice is bright, sweet, tender, and sensual. She's definitely a soul and pop queen with this song. Okay. The song composition with the acoustic guitars that pairs with Tia's voice is just perfect. The blend of the lower voice along with the lines, I wanted. I need it. I never gonna leave it. I know they said she says that really quickly. Oh, beautiful. Anyways, I love the message of the song also, because it's like the protagonist is like searching for a companion who shares the same heartache, but wants to take it slow because you know what? I want she wants this to last. The protagonist wants to wants this to last, you know? She is done with heartaches, she's done with this like people who are always, you know, no, no, taking it, not loving her or loving their relationship. So oh my god. It's this is one that it could be a black house song. Because sometimes I will be like, isn't it the son of it? Oh my god, it's just so beautiful. And that guitar that it was used also of like beats, it was awesome. Yeah, definitely. Really, really just beautiful blend. How about your take?
SPEAKER_03Well, I got sort of like mild electric Latin and R B rhythm because there was that guitar was very sort of Spanish sounding. It was fanciful and and soft, like a memory playing through, you know, your mind, and it it goes through the whole song. So it's a very light, soulful guitar. I loved that. I loved that sound. It was just beautiful. Uh her voice is soft and reflective. And I liked you were pointing out too that there was a a deep male voice in that need it, want it, never gonna leave it. It sort of made me think like this is showing that it takes two people to make this relationship. So it it was very interesting because you really only hear that with the headphones on. So you it sort of popped out at me. And I love that that line where there's a hole in your chest where your heart should be and it's shaped like mine. So they're sort of saying, like, yeah, she's searching for someone, you know, they have matching souls, matching hearts. Just really, I think it's sort of talking about because there were a couple of lines that made me seem like this was her talking to someone she's already been sort of involved with, and she's like, you know, I'm sick of all the the bad stuff and the the BS that goes along. But we really are sort of made to be together, and so they're sort of even though things aren't running smooth right now, we can fix this because we do, we do fit. There is, you know, this hole in your chest, and it's shaped like mine. So I feel like they're sort of discussing how they're gonna get through this and make this work out, but it's just her delivery is just so sweet, but also sort of like demanding. Like, I want it, I need it, never gonna leave it. Just an interesting dynamic, and it's lovely all the way through. It just sort of takes you in, rolls you around gently with all these emotions. Yeah. And you're like, hmm, this could work. Yep. You know, if we just sort of take our take a take a go at it and and sort of work through all the little bumps and scrapes along the way, we'll be good. So and it was funny because the first time I listened to it, I thought what she was saying was there's a hole in your chest where your heart should be, and it's shaped like love. And I was like, Oh, that's an interesting. And then I really look when I had the headphones finally, yeah, and I was like, shaped like mine, mine. Oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00I guess mine to love, my friend.
SPEAKER_03What's up? That doesn't rhyme. I know, but it doesn't have to. Doesn't have to. It has to convey the emotion of what she's feeling. So I was like, oh, that's inter, you know. So at first I was looking at it, she's like, dude, you need to figure yourself out because you have this hole in your chest, but it's shaped like love. But then when I heard it shaped like mine, I was like, oh, okay, we're in this together. And we gotta make them fit back. So it was really pretty wild. And you know, your mind does that sometimes. You're listening to things and you're like, I can't quite make it out. So you you insert a word. You think will fit. Right. So that's what I did.
SPEAKER_00Step ahead of the lyrics. And it's not supposed to be that, you know.
SPEAKER_03Okay, cool. Well, that's again where the headphones come in handy because then you can really hear it a lot clearer. When you're in your car and there's other noises and you're distracted. So great song. Yes. Really? And her again, her voice is just Yeah, she is a pop queen.
SPEAKER_00So RB. Oh my god, so social. Ooh.
Tia Ray: Heart-Shaped Soul
SPEAKER_03Like, why is she not huge, huge, huge?
SPEAKER_00Right? And it's not like she's a newcomer. She's been around, you know, she's she's been a singer for years. Again, Chinese artists, they just don't. Anyways, I'm not gonna get involved in that. But you that's just by saying Chinese pop. That's just to let you know. It's just try talk about gatekeeping. No kidding. Anyways, moving on to the next song. So we're going to talk about Alamette's song Cine Gang from their album Destino, which released again on Alaman on November 21st. Now, um little in the introduction to Alamat, Alamad is a Filipino boy group formed in 2020 by Viva Artist Agency and Ni Nuno Media. Before I start saying Nino, which is not, there's a new one there. Guess I when I read it first, I'm like Nino, I'm like, no, it's new, it's there's a new one there. Ni Nuno Media. Uh consisting of six members, which are Taneo Mo, J-O, I'm hopefully saying that right, Thomas, RG, and Alas. Uh the band debuted with nine members but was later trimmed down to six. King departed the group in late March of 2021 due to personal reasons, followed by Valfur and Gami, who also left in late March 2022. Because I do remember hearing a member named Gami, and I was like, oh, what happened? But uh, I guess it's just like, no, I just kind of you know, move along, do something else, whatever. I'm like, okay, you know, that happens. Yo, this song. OMG. You wanna go first? Sure, I can. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03I got sort of I want to see if you got the same feels I got simple RB, the light percussion, piano style synth, a little bit of bass, the soulful and pleasant vocals, great harmonies throughout. This is it was such a gentle song. Some of the things uh I was hearing seemed like a song about loss of a lover, because can't go a day without thinking about you and what we could have been. Or maybe not e maybe just someone that they've been silently in love with for a long time. I just sort of swayed back and forth to this, just sort of kicked back, relaxed, and just enjoyed the sounds that were coming through because again, those harmonies and the way they sort of sing over each other and with each other was just so beautifully orchestrated that it just seeped into you, and sort of even though it's a little melancholic and a little, you know, like yearning to it, it still felt good. That was sort of where I was with this song. I just sort of, you know, I think also from a previous artist that we listened to and talk, I was like, are they saying Dahan slowly? I think they were saying they were okay. Yeah. So I was like, so he's just sort of like slowly trying to get over you, slowly trying to come to terms with these emotions. I don't know, but it was just so beautifully said, and I was so excited for being like, I think I recognize a word.
SPEAKER_00Like, you know that I know this word. I know a word.
SPEAKER_03That's how it always I pick out one word and I'm like, oh, oh, slowly, slowly what? What's going on slowly? Jeez. But just it seemed sort of a little heartbreaking, but also, you know, sort of resigned to the fact that this is just how it is, and I gotta either work through it slowly, work on this slowly, but things aren't going where I thought they would, how I planned. So I'm just gonna sing about my heartbreak. You know what I mean? But it just beautifully, beautifully done. Yes, really enjoyed this one too. Yes, a whole other mood.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. This was completely a whole other mood. Oh my god. So uh wow. So Cine Gong, I went to translate what it is. Ah, and uh also, but before I say what what the Cine Gong means, uh, this song was produced by one of the members, which was Alas. Uh nice, yeah. So that was cool, which I hear um a little bit of a deep dive that I kind of did on the side. The group do like to like partake on the songs and you know, the creativity and whatever, and but on this one, Alas actually produced this one. So yeah, and oh MG, boy. But CineGog is a sour and savory soup, which is a favorite comfort food in the Philippines. Oh, interesting. But you know what? This RB song got me on a trance. OMG. Complete blackout song. I got it got me just doing body rolls too, because at some point I'm like, da da da. Hey! It's like oh, it's just like it gets you, got into my ear, got into my body. I was just like, definitely, this song is delicious, just like the dish. I mean, it's just hot and it's steamy. The melodies sometimes sound like sour just because there's something going on. Because this, you know, their their voices when they blend, those melodies. OMG. The song is definitely umami rich, just like the soup. This is I'm definitely going to what the soup is because this definitely has that. Their voice blending just makes it feel so good. Inside, I'm just like, wow, because the overlaying of their voices, and oh my god, and of course, the music accompanying the song, the lyrics, come on, smooth, you know, the slow bass, and the drums, not too like just there. Oh, everything was just like ding ding. Just want to say that couples, if you're trying to make a baby, this is your song. This is your song. Because even though it sounds kind of like bittersweet, it's just like, but they want you by your side. Uh-uh, uh-uh. Forget it that I'm like, yes, I'm with you. I d yes, I want that. So now if I see the if I go to a Filipino restaurant and they have the soup, I'm gonna be like, I will have some of that and I'll put the music on. I'll be like, mmm.
SPEAKER_03Give it a try.
SPEAKER_00I can see it. Oh, I can taste it now.
SPEAKER_03Well, I was gonna say, and that that makes sense too, because love, longing is sweet and sour at the same time. You know what I mean? You're looking forward to something, but if it's not working out, which some of the lines in the song lead you to believe, you're like, oh, that they use this dish to compose the song.
SPEAKER_00Because, like, who they put it together, because I'm like, that's quite perfect.
SPEAKER_03It adds another level to what's going on. It's exactly because the song is a comfort food, you know what I mean? When you're listening to it, it's despite the sort of underlying heartbreak sound to it, it's very comforting and soothing, puts you at ease.
SPEAKER_00And you just yeah, you just sort of like I never tasted the soup, but I'm thinking if it starts with like the sour and then you have the savory at the end, it's like some kind, you know, some uh, you know, relationships. It's like it's a little bit sour, and but then when you like really like savor, it's like balance, balance. Okay, so now we're more mmm, and it's like and this song is mmm, geez, so good. Oh, it gave me those bumps on some parts because there's one the voices. Oh my god, this I know, right? I love these groups, harmonies, their voices. Oh, they're so good.
SPEAKER_03Obviously, the production has a lot to do with that too. He knew whose voices to put where and how to bring them in and blend them. So, yeah.
Alamat: Cinegang And Comfort
SPEAKER_00Awesome, you did amazing on that was so beautiful. Yes, it was delicious. Oh my god, so good, so good. So, of course, this song is in my secret playlist because hey, mm-mm. Anyways, you know you have that playlist, yeah. That's gonna be in that playlist. All right, huh? Moving on to the next song, because I can keep talking about this one for a lot longer, anyways. It's gonna be Tomohisa Yamashita, aka Yama P with the song The Artist, also released on November 21st. So for those who've popular day. Yeah, for those who do not know who Yama P is, some well, those who are you know followers of Music Elixir know who Yama P is. But if you're new to the podcast, Tomohisa Yamashita, also known as Yama P by his loving fans. Hey, it's a popular Japanese idol, actor, and singer. He's recognized for his roles in dramas like Nobu Ta Wall Produce, Code Blue, and recently Alice in Borderline, which he was naked. I don't know if I don't know 100% naked, but come on.
SPEAKER_03It's a big change from his earlier roles where he was playing lovesick teenagers.
SPEAKER_00So now that I said people check out Alice and Barnum if you want. Okay, as well as Apple TV's drops of God. He started out as Johnny at Johnny's and Associates. Jeez, if I can talk. He debuted with the group News before going solo on in 2020, where he gained international fame thanks to his English skills and acting projects. Hello, Alice in Borderland.
SPEAKER_03Well, before that, he's done a lot of international acting. Canada, Paris, like France. I mean, he's just being bilingual helps. Definitely, and being as good looking as he is also. Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Hello. The man does not age. I know, right? Is this another one that is like, when do you age? You'd like to get better. What are you juicing? Where do you go? I want those products. It's not fair. Oh, yeah. Another one that so beautiful. Anyways, I am very happy to hear that he has a new song. This is another this is a pop rock song. Of course, this is a relationship for me as an artist that he is and that he wants to be and become. It's you know, the song is him. It's completely him, and the you know, just describing of what how what is going on with him as an artist. I like the beat and the grunginess of the song. I don't have much to describe to it, just like it's just yumuppy. It's yumuppy. And by the little description that I've given you, this I think that's what the song is about.
SPEAKER_03What do you think, Sarah? Well, I was gonna say, yeah, when I was listening to it, I sort of I think yes, he's talking about himself as the artist in his relationship with the fans, the audience, however you wanna to view it. It's very strong, like steady rhythmic drums in the repetitive guitar. So there there was a line where he said it's like a tattoo. And I was like, This is a very interesting dual use of that word, because when you hear tattoo, you think of the body ink. But tattoo actually means like a steady drum beat, a very like it just a cadence. In this song, all the way through, he has that cadence behind it. It's like a heartbeat, but it's also like a tattoo, because that needle just punches you in a very steady rhythm, and it leaves a a mark that's like permanent, indelible on you, on you as a person. So what he's talking about is this is just this steady rhythm, but it's leaving a mark. I want you, I need you, you kill me, you need me, I it's he's he's definitely relating himself to his audience, which is really just sort of wild and cool. But his his vocals are also are in direct contrast to how the the steady beats are happening. His voice is smooth and sort of longing against this stark, almost sometimes rough music going on behind him. But again, it's still just a steady, steady cadence. And he's telling you he's willing to to go all out, to do everything. I'd die for you, gotta be strong for you, you're shining through inside my mind, you burn so bright. Can you see me? You know what I mean? So he's really trying to relate to his audience, right? Could be could be an individual, but I'm thinking a broader spectrum here just because of the title of the song. And this is just he wants this connection so bad. Like you hear that in his voice, and it just it pulses through him, it pulses through the music. And so, yeah, he all he can do is focus on being his best for you. I really was sort of mesmerized by this song. That continuous beat, that heartbeat, that cadence just kept you connected, but his voice being so different in contrast to the that constant sound really sort of just makes this unique blend that stuck with me. It struck me very I don't I don't know. I loved his voice in this. I just I was so yeah connected with this song because I'm dun dun dun You kill me.
SPEAKER_00You know, he's well known, he's well loved, you know?
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. Well, I was gonna say also, yeah, he was sort of bounced around in a few different bands, trying to find his way, and finally went solo. I think that was a good move. We've talked about this before, like sometimes someone stands out too much. They're they're too separate from from the group.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03And I'm not saying that groups don't have individual sounds in people, because we like lots of bands where there's huge contrasts in in styles between the members, but they blend. Right. He was one of those ones, it was like he never could quite find a place in a group, but as an individual, he stands out. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00So it's he was one of those I think just couldn't quite fit in anywhere, and it was much better to just now that you said that remind me, was yeah Yamapi and Subasa before news or that was after news? They didn't they didn't mention that here. Wasn't there a duo? There was tacky and Subasa.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, not Taci. Oh my god. Although funny you mentioned that because Yamape and uh Kazuya, Khamanesh, had done some work together, only then it got tabled. I'd like to hear that somewhere because they were working together, but then there was a rift. I don't believe that it ever got released. But I would find that interesting. I wonder how they worked together. Oh my god. Right? Maybe that would have been his combo. Kamino.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, okay, well we go, we're gonna talk about Kaminosh. Anyways, last but not least, we are going to talk about a this is probably our first. Mori Calloope. Co Calliope. She's a VTuber or Calliope. Calliope, yes. I I heard different pronunciation for for that one.
SPEAKER_03Well, I knew a Calliope, but it looks like Calliope, and so you know. So all right, so if she's the goddess of music, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Well, like I said, uh that she is a uh virtual YouTuber, also known as a VTuber, um, and singer affiliated with CO Cover, Cover, Cover, Cover Corporations, HoloLive Production Agency. I'm like, no, I can't talk. Um I've been stumbling over words. Oh my goodness. You know, I said on okay. Ish was like, I'm not perfect, you know it's shenanigans over here 100%. You know, that's why you listen because you wanna hear, you know, the train wreck. So, anyways, moving on for Morty, uh, who debuted on September 2020 as a member of the HoloLive English Myth Unit. So, yes, there is a voice to this character, but of course, this character this person is going by their character name, which is Mori Calliope. Okay. But on this song, we have featured Kentana Kanyema Otanana's Kenti. Kenty. Of course, the song was the name of the song is Gold on Balance, and again, November 21st. Big, big for like releases. Yeah, wow. This is another one that was released on that date. And uh this is like my first time ever hearing like a YouTube, you know, a V tuber music. Um, not really that like I know vaguely about VTubers, but never like never done a deep dive. But because Kenty's in it, I'm like, oh okay, this is kind of cool, you know? And it this is something that um I can definitely see Kenty just diving into. So, but we're gonna talk about Morty and the song, let me tell you, is electric. Heavy with elements of like new metal. Mori and Kenty's voices definitely complement each other. Wow. Just like so beautifully. The song is like sinister. It's like also has rock on vibes. The rap delivery. Now I also read that Mori is well known for her like vicious rap. Not found it. Maybe we'll find a song and review it. Um, but her on this song, her delivery was so cool. That came out like around a minute three. And then Kenty also rapped on this song. His delivery was around two minutes into it. And I'm like, this is all cool. Like, definitely those two do blend. I'm happy that Kenty, you don't know if Kenty looked for her, or I don't know what's going on. How this this pairing happened, but whoever made this happen, yay. It's so cool. They blend so well. I completely enjoy the vibe of the song, and I feel like they should do another song together. Because this just for they just they pair each other so well. Song composition, sorry I did not find out who it was, but I hear that Morty Calliope does most of all her songs. So I'm assuming it's her. And let me tell you, kudos to her. That was a really awesome song.
SPEAKER_03Yes, she did write, have writing credits on it.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03With a couple of other people, but yes, she did have writing credits.
SPEAKER_00Yay! Yeah that's awesome. Love. So I need to yeah, I gotta look more into her. Definitely. Her stuff.
SPEAKER_03How about you, Miss Cra? I liked that slow start to it with just a few little tinges of sound here and here. And then the vocals come in and then it just turns into like super hyper music. Like just wall of sound everywhere. All electric and energetic, swells and dips of music that they make it sound like an epic journey. The the way this goes up and down is just so cool. And you were talking about the two-minute mark with Kenty's voice. Did you also what I noticed there was the music got a little jazzy and flashy, but then right back into that wall of sound coming at you. I mean, it was like eclectic, just I mean, stuff coming in everywhere. It was so cool. And I heard um them saying yuki, which is courage, or snow, but I think they're talking courage in this. Um Kotaba, talk about your words. But they also then in English say back to back, no matter what. Uh, once again, it's us against the world. So sort of binding that idea in my head that this is some sort of epic journey they're taking, not necessarily in the sense of traveling cross-country, but musically, these two blending is an amazing voyage on itself. And so they seem like, you know, a team, but not like defined as anything specific. Just them against the world.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And they're gonna take over the world together. That's sort of like this this fight, this struggle to to come out together and still, you know, make an impact. Right. And just really cool and you know, dance, dance and keep moving, and we gotta, you know what I mean? It was just really cool. But the the way this music, like, you can't even really pinpoint what kind of sound this is because there's so many things happening. Like I said, when that jazzy, like I was like, where did this come from? And then all of a sudden it goes back into the brand, and you're like, wow, what what happened here? But it is this is one that I could see being used for a drama. It gives you that energy of just going and going and going and fighting for what you want and getting where you want to go, and and again, they're doing it as a team.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Now that's just saying her voice, too. Oh, yeah, I know her voice.
SPEAKER_00Wow, yeah, she's just fierce. Amazing vocals. She has amazing vocals. Now that you said drama, I'm looking more like a sci-fi drama.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, that's it.
SPEAKER_00Just because she's a VTuber, you know? And then, you know, we got Kentine like in some space thing. That'll be awesome. That will be great. There is a video for this.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I didn't see that.
SPEAKER_00I haven't seen it yet. Because this she's a VTuber. I'll bet it's gonna be some sci-fi kind of thing, anyways.
Yamashita Tomohisa: The Artist
SPEAKER_03So cool. We're definitely very flashy and colorful and I love frantic. It's gonna be a lot going on. It's gonna be movement.
SPEAKER_00I'm very proud of my Kenti. He is going, you know, he is, you know, dipping himself on whatever he can get into, and he's doing it in flying colors. And Mori Kaopi, I mean, we love that. Love the song.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, definitely. Love the vocals, and I love the the way their voices sort of contrast each other, too. They're just they're so they they're so different that they work really well together.
SPEAKER_00They compliment each other. It's just, you know, I mean, you can hear her and then you can hear him, and it's just like, but they don't overpower each other. It's just it's a well and I like that her voice is the more aggressive.
SPEAKER_03Usually the male voice is more aggressive, but it's her. She's a little more aggressive than him. He's so he's sort of like the grounded, like No, we're not gonna see.
SPEAKER_00He's very, you know, chivorous. Just like this is her song. Let her take the lead, yeah. When it's my song, I'll do my thing. I'm just here as you know, supporting artists. I'm supporting you, you know, you know, and just you know, that's how he it's my god, why is my boy? Anyways, okay, enough. So awesome, yeah, definitely different moods. We have some REs, some rock, you know, and then we have some pop.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, five very different songs, but yes, just as a playlist, they sort of went really well together because you just sort of move through moods, yeah, and you could pick and choose. Oh, but maybe I'm not so much in the mood for this, so I'll save it for later. But they still all work together. Yeah, there was there was a good flow to this, so yeah.
SPEAKER_00I liked it. Awesome. Anyways, so I know uh we have mentioned that holidays are coming, and Miss Sarah now we are going to be taking a break. So we may have well, we'll let you know when we we're on the holiday. Okay, we're taking a break now. No episode, thank you very much. So we just want to let you know, you know, and I want we want everybody to enjoy their time with whatever they're doing for you know, family, chosen family by yourself. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03And if you and if you miss us that much, you can check out some of the older episodes, right?
SPEAKER_00Like hello, Travis Japan is back on the top three, almost listen.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I saw that. Interesting, right? I was like, oh, okay, yay! Well, because they they got some new stuff happening, so I think they just drop a new album because I've noticed that too. Anytime someone comes up with something new, people go back to the episode.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, hey, thank you, thank you, thank you, Talia fans. That's something awesome, and of course we have the orations listening to the uh of bickering and crying and just being salty anyways, but hey, it's 2026 is not here yet, and who knows?
