A song can be catchy, polished, and still leave you cold. Another can hit one weird synth moment and suddenly your brain is locked in. We lean into that tension while we keep our Women’s Month run going, spotlighting women artists and women-fronted acts across K-pop, Thai pop, Japanese reggae, and K-rock.
We start with EVERGLOW’s “Code,” talking through what changes when a group moves companies and shrinks from six members to four. The track has a club-ready pulse and a glossy K-pop build, but we don’t just stamp it “bop” and move on. We argue about whether pop “generic” is a flaw or the whole point, and why certain melodies, textures, and vocal choices either stick for days or slide right off.
From there, we chase a music industry mystery with PRETZELLE’s “Ready or Not,” a bright Thai pop song that shows up as a new release even though the group has disbanded. That opens a deeper conversation about global release dates, labels, and how fans experience music discovery now. Then Akane’s “No More Cry” shifts the entire mood with Japanese reggae and dancehall energy, delivering a message about unity and choosing community when the world feels split.
Finally, we throw the “monkey wrench” into the playlist: ChRocktikal's “Peace,” a brand-new rock band fronted by Dreamcatcher’s Lee Siyeon. If you miss the feel of classic heavy rock and early metal with clean, controlled powerhouse vocals, this one hits hard and makes the live-show temptation very real.

OK ASIA
Welcome And Women’s Month Setup
SPEAKER_02Hey there, you're listening to Music Elixir with me, Sarah.
SPEAKER_00She am DJ Panic. Oh, yeah. Having a panic. Having a panic. Just having a panic. Why don't we leave that for Red and Rambly? Definitely.
SPEAKER_02We can talk of the stories.
SPEAKER_00That could be like. So thank you everybody for tuning in or listening. Tuning in, listening. Well, you know. Yeah. Both, I guess. We are continuing our month, women's month, dedicating it to the ladies in the industry. I need to like uh center myself because I'm too hyped up for what's going on.
SPEAKER_02But like I said, you know, all these things that kept popping up in the middle of this ladies' month stuff that were like, oh, I know, in our month.
SPEAKER_00In our month.
SPEAKER_02Like, you know, okay. Like, yeah, and they are big things, big events, but like, come on, guys, you have the whole rest of the year. I know.
SPEAKER_00Like, they know specifically how to throw. This is like my my fra my phrase lately, monkey wrench. My word lately, monkey wrench. Because I threw you a monkey wrench in the middle of a week for this playlist that we're going to talk about for this.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we had it all set in like yesterday. It was yesterno. It was Thursday.
SPEAKER_00Thursday or Wednesday?
SPEAKER_02Thursday. Okay. Because I was like, I have a day to do this.
SPEAKER_00I know. I'm like, monkey wrench. I took this one out. I put this one in because come on. We have already talked about the one that we had in there, but we're gonna say who it is. So I'm like, you know, this is like so brand new. And it just happened for this person this year starting in January. I find out about them. They are coming to Boston.
SPEAKER_02So we're like from a group that we've talked about before and that we like, and so you know.
SPEAKER_00So we're gonna okay, so we'll talk more about that because we're gonna leave that song towards the end. Yes. But uh we are so we're chatting about two idol groups, two female idol groups, a solo artist, and then a co-wet group, but the front person is female, so that's valid. To me, that's valid, but okay, more history about that one later. That's why I left her that towards the end. So there's this group that we were supposed to see Kon, but because of Visa issues, they were not able to appear on that K-Con New York in uh 2019. 2019. Which they debuted in 2019.
SPEAKER_02Which makes sense. That's why they were gonna be part of that K-Con lineup.
Everglow’s “Code” And New Era
SPEAKER_00But yep. So we are chatting about Everglow and their newest song, Code, that just dropped on March 3rd. Now, a little bit of an introduction of on the ladies, on the group. Uh, they were formed by Yuha Entertainment in 2019 and debuted on March 18th, 2019. So they just had anniversary. Oh yeah. Oh, by the way, we're recording on March 21st. So they used to be a six-member group, but now they are a four-member group. And under a new company called Chicksta, I wanna say Chicksta, C-H-X-T-A, and the group we have Yu, Qiyang, Onda, and Aisha. Those are the names I've got too. That's what we have now. Recently, that lineup started on 2025. This code, we're gonna be talking about the song Code. I do like it's another club vibe. Lately, I've been hearing that seems to be like the pattern for at least for what we've been listening to for the you know, female groups, have been like very poppy in the club kind of feel. So it's yeah, seems to be the trend maybe for the spring. Let's see what happens in the summer. Because we're in the summer that changes. Uh, the song is catchy, it's danceable. Uh the ver the I like the vocals. I thought they were gonna be a completely different because from what have we have heard in the past for this group. I like the melodies, it definitely has a tune, but not like in your face, like we have heard before, uh at least from other groups. And also before, they used to have songs like that when it comes to uh Yes, they did. Right? Foreverglow. I'm curious what's going to happen now that they're in a new company. Like this song, I was just like, okay, it's different from what I have heard in the past. Let's see what this new company is gonna bring out from the girls.
SPEAKER_02Did you listen? It was sort of like a little EP, yeah, like four or five songs.
SPEAKER_00I didn't hear the rest of it just on that one.
SPEAKER_02There's another really good one off of that to focus. Okay, which was one of the other ones I had sent. I was like, these two are pretty boppy, like catchy. Okay. They they stuck out more, but this one really caught my attention. So, but sorry. I wasn't sure are if you're done or not. I'm done.
SPEAKER_00Because I was just like, okay. Just because I didn't I it took it was good. It was good. You can tell my voice is like the Japanese fans just don't like it. I do like it. I just heard the other older songs that they had under the other company hit me more than this one. That's all I have to say. I do listen to this one, I liked it, but the feel is completely different. Yes, I know it's a different company.
SPEAKER_02Well, and they're four now, you know. I mean, they're they gotta change up their style a little. Exactly. They're gonna they're probably gonna do some experimenting. Yeah, would be my guess. Because the the EP has sort of more range sound-wise.
SPEAKER_00Because I did check it out, but it was this one in particular, just sort of it hit something, like clicked a little switch in my brain that just sort of like oh like we'll like always they send uh a leading track for an EP and we're like okay, but then when you listen to the EP, you're like, oh, wait a minute, why they didn't use this one as a leading track?
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay. But there's yeah, there's multiple sort of feelings and vibes on it. Okay. This one, I I don't know exactly what it was. There was just like I said, something clicked in my brain and was like, this is like a little sort of hip shaker, a little gets you get you moving, and it just it caught my ear and my mind, because they have, you know, like sort of this slow pulse opening, and then it builds the musical layers up to this weird sort of like sci-fi synth, and then they just bust out into that high-energy dance mode, like and it's all techno and sort of industrial, like it has a little bit of everything.
SPEAKER_00And you said it was focused?
SPEAKER_02No, no, code. Oh, for this one for this one, yeah. For code, there's there's sort of all these little elements happening in it. It's like a genre soup almost. No, focus was really good too, but I didn't listen to that repeatedly, so I don't I can't talk on that one at the moment. But for this one, I think that they had like some great bass drops in there. The again, that synth going on. Their voices are a mix of cool harmonies and that like auto-tune, robotic kind of sound. Uh, they do have sort of that sweet, gentle voice break in the middle where you're like, what I I don't know all of what they were saying, but it's just sort of like lulling you into this like happy place, and then they're like, BAM, they hit you with that sound again. And they're like, uh, I'll make a glitch inside your brain. We got your code, we got your password. So this was to me, like sort of like, I don't know, they're they're like your beat hackers. They're okay. They've they've got the code to what's going to enter into your brain and make you move and make you dance. I didn't get any sense of like they're like, oh, we're sassy and got this attitude, or we're in love, or we're doing it wasn't anything like that. It was sort of just like we're gonna infiltrate your brain and we're gonna switch on or off whatever we want you to be experiencing in this moment with the music. And maybe that's sort of what caught my attention was it was sort of like, oh, they're they're saying they're gonna crack your code and get you to move and dance and have a good time. So that was that was what I took away from it.
SPEAKER_00And it's you enjoyed that song more than I did. Well, I mean, I liked it, but I was like, I don't know. Well, see, sometimes it's still generic for me.
SPEAKER_02Sometimes though I don't know, generic okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Well, I mean I like it. Because it's different for them, I like is what made it interesting for me.
SPEAKER_00I did no, it didn't move me. It's not not that I don't like it, I like it, but it's not one that I will be putting on my a playlist. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_02No, it's just it's something that's catchy and it gets your attention. You know, again, I've said it before. They're called pop songs for reasons.
SPEAKER_00I know, but this pop bomb for me was generic. Anyways. Well, they're all generic, that's the point. There's some that hit you harder. They're made to be you hard. Okay, some there's some that hit me harder than other. Oh, yeah, no, no. This one didn't hit me like I wanted it to.
SPEAKER_02Because I I Well, I gave you two choices of their songs that I was like, these are they're more boppable than the others on the album. Okay. You know what I mean? Or on the mini EP. So I was like, they're they're good. And those two were at war with me as far as which one I thought was more in the line of what we've been doing. So that's all. I'm just saying it's enjoyable, and it's enjoyable for a reason. Yeah. Because it it hits all the things that it's supposed to, I guess. Okay.
A Quick Detour Into Premonition Talk
SPEAKER_00I do know, yeah, I did enjoy it, but it's not gonna be one of my favorites. Moving on to the next song. We all had to be No, I know, but this is it's my opinion. Like, that's your own. Okay, cool. All right. We're talking about what? What?
SPEAKER_02Think about what we talked about earlier, the divergent path.
SPEAKER_00That was it. I told Sarah a dream of mine, but I was just like, it's not concerning, but maybe concerning, but concerning because of myself. If we just did that, yeah. Okay. And premonition, you know, the wichi poo over here.
SPEAKER_02It's nothing, nothing dramatic, but it is a divergence. We had differing opinions, took different directions with it. Yes. I don't know if I'll say my I don't know if I'll tell my dream on the podcast. That's just crazy. No, you don't know, but it just that just hit me. See, that song made me think of it. There you go.
SPEAKER_00All right. Are we ready for the next song?
SPEAKER_02Yes, we are.
SPEAKER_00Now I this one came on my like new release radar, and then I started doing a deep dive on the girls, and they turned out to be that they have no longer they just stop activities back in last year, 2025. Yeah. So we we're chatting. So we listened to the song Ready or Not by Pretzel, and this is a Thai group. So I just found out that they disbanded on June 4th, 2025. But this song came up as like a brand new song released on March 4. I'm like, eh? Why?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't know. Because the same thing happened to me when I went to look them up. I was like, wait a minute. This says they're not together anymore. So or at least they're not working.
SPEAKER_00They disbanded. They have disbanded. And I'm like, what? So I went back to Spotify to make sure that just wasn't looking at something like an old or mixed up, you know, another song in the Janet. Release March 4th, 2026. I'm like, maybe for globally, and maybe this have already been released in, you know, in their country.
SPEAKER_02That could be.
SPEAKER_00Because that's a possibility. And then I was just thinking maybe the the company just needs money because they're just not making you know. Because that happens. That happens. That's true. So um, so yeah, uh, well, the this recording, um, okay. So the little deep dive I did on the group, besides this banding on June 4th of 2025, they began as a six-member group that went down to a trio last year, and then it ended out with um Ink, Ow Mine, I want to say that's the name, and then Grace were the last three members of Pretzel. I have heard some other songs before, they're just a girly poppy song, you know, group. Uh, this song is very light pop song. The name of the song is Ready or Not, if I have not said it before. You did. Okay. That's okay. But I I you know, this is a no pretzel for having that flurry, flirty vocals, sweets, which they show it on this one. It's definitely an easy listening and a relaxed song. Um, I do like that there was like also camera clickage, like the flash. Well, yeah, it's the flash charging. I noticed that too. I was like, So I was like, ready or not, maybe I'll take this picture. Hey, you know? So that was like interesting, which actually we have heard camera clicks on other songs lately for the girl group. We have, yeah. For female groups, which I'm like, hey, okay. But who knows when actually this was produced. So also another one that I feel that the production is feels genetic. Very the vocals were light, not really like standout, like we don't have any uh pop divas here. No, you know, it's just uh you know, very nonchalantly, you know, uh relaxing. It does happen. That's it's very simple and like uplifting. Again, not heavy production.
SPEAKER_02No, definitely not.
SPEAKER_00Very light. That's it. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was gonna say this one was it's sort of just mellower in every way. It's sort of got um slow jazz feel with a little bit of like techno beats behind it. It had um actually a very stylized 60s girl group feel to it, you know, but with a little bit of a modern edge. And I found that the music sort of mimics this like light sense of excitement under a calm facade. Like, so it's not that it's an exciting song, you know, there's no real big ups and downs about it, but that like you can feel that undercurrent of something going on, be it, you know, falling in love, thinking about love, looking for love. There's it it's sort of this weird little balance that was going on. So again, it wasn't like an outstanding sense of urgency or anything, but it was just this subtle underlying feeling. And yeah, I was like, what is with that? I recognize that sound from my ears doing photography of the charging flash. I was like, what has that got to do with I mean, I guess ready or not, I'm gonna flash your picture, but um, but it's overall I've just had sort of like this shy tentative feeling about the what they were singing about, like it was just leading the you know, leading up to something, heading somewhere, but you're not sure where. So in the meantime, it's just staying sort of on this plateau, this level quietness. So my my idea of the 60s girl group thing is where you were like it's kind of generic because everybody had this same style, this same look. Right. In you know, if you think of the sh well, Ronett's Shandells, whatever that's like all of they all had sort of the same, and again, that's what happens with pop music is everybody copies each other, does similar things, tries to catch a certain sound. But it was it was a good song. It was yeah, you know, nice mellow moment in the playlist. Easy listening.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Just unfortunately they're not actually a group anymore. But it's hey, you know, like we said, it's always good check out old stuff, new stuff, anything.
SPEAKER_00Like who knows what happened with the company. Sometimes these companies run out of money and it's like ah, we cannot produce you anymore. That sucks. But if you have any member from that group that is your fave and they're doing any solo projects, hey, support them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely. Who knows? Maybe yeah, maybe they just didn't when you go from six to three and then company has trouble, things just oh yeah, fall apart quickly.
SPEAKER_00So ready for the next song?
SPEAKER_02Yes, I think I love the song.
Akane’s “No More Cry” Unity Message
SPEAKER_00I know, right? Ah, it's been a while. Okay, so we're going to talk about Japanese reggae, dance whole queen. I'll call her that way. I don't know how they call it in Japan. Her name is Akane. I love her. I love her, and it's been a while since she dropped a bop. And her song is No More Cry. These are her lyrics. She is uh I just love her. Okay. So um bit of information I found about Akane. After graduating from high school, she studied abroad in Canada. And uh, upon returning, she began her career as a singer and songwriter because uh this lyrics here are from her for this song called No More Cry. She just devoted herself into the genre of reggae, hip-hop, and dance hall. Hey! This one was like you can tell she this is like singing from the heart because of you know, reggae tends to be a little bit political. A little? I know, I'm saying it little. It's okay, it tends to be political. So No More Cry. It's you know, her just a pure reggae, you know, just pure reggae, the arrangement that it reminds me. I mean, the arrangement just reminds me of being in Puerto Rico. It's very Caribbean, very Jamaican. Uh, the energy is so great. Her voice just both rasping and just powerful. Just a can is just sharing her message of unity, you know, that money and greed just is dividing us, that we're still the same. It's it's a song that uh that is just the song, it's it just aims to inspire and you know inspire and empower. All the songs that she had done like that, does she does have the same message, just reminding her fans or listeners that it's enough of this BS of like why is all this division? Why do we need to be so greedy? Why do people some you know we should share, we should have community, we should love each other. We humans should not be crying anymore. We should be living in peace. So um I'm I I just love her. And then okay, I had this song on repeat a lot of times, yeah, because of like the whole, you know, the easy listening, the power, the powerfulness, and her voice that delivery when she's like, enough, enough, you know, like come on, that's it. Just you cut the shit, you know. Now I gotta put explicit lyrics explicitly. You know, uh, and of course, the arrangement is just great for what she was delivering. I love her. How about you?
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say it's awesome, awesome, like reggae, calypso, because that stylized steel drum and brass. Love their brass in the you know what I mean? But then also that very that mellow bass, like you feel it, you hear it, but it's not not like slapping bass, it's not pumping bass, it's just there moving you along. With this message. So it's like definitely has that protest rally kind of feel to the this song. Um, stand up for yourself, stand up for society, let's come together, stop the pain, stop the anger, stop the sorrow, stop the lot. Like, just be kind to one another. And the one part that stuck out to me really strongly was when she says, one love, one heart, one art, one world. Like, we really need to sort of embrace that message, you know, especially like this was so poignant right now with everything that's going on in the world. It's like, come on, just stop thinking about yourself. Think about everybody. And like you said, not just about the greed and the power, but about people in general, your fellow man. Right. We're all in this together. We are all humans. Yeah. And we all need to like treat each other like humans. So it's just it really does have that sense of political statement that so frequently comes from a lot of the bigger reggae artists. Yeah. She's not quite as angry as Peter Tosh was, but she's like, or maybe she is as angry, but she's a little more gentle about how she pulls it off.
SPEAKER_00Her delivery is not like that, you know. But she definitely is driving that message.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, maybe she's more like the Bob Marley kind of the two different polar opposite sounds of statements and how they put them across. But she's, I think, just very much she's got the anger in her. You can hear it a little in the voice, but she but not like in a way of getting down on us, just being like, look, this has gotta stop.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_02We gotta all be people, humans with each other. And like for one brief moment, I was like, is she saying that if there's no more humans, there's no more cries? Yeah. I was like, is this getting dark?
SPEAKER_00I know, but I heard that too. No more human, no more cry. I was like, Jeez, okay. I kind of you got really dark there.
SPEAKER_02Or I guess it could be if if you're not human, you wouldn't cry. You know what I mean? Like right. But I sort of turned it around and said, I think she's just sort of saying, Yo, humans, let's not have any more crying. You know what I mean? Like, let's stop the hurt, the pain, the greed, the corruption. Yeah. The corruption. Yeah. And just yeah, come together. One love, one heart, one art, one world. There you go. It's all we need to do. Yes. So very powerful message. Now, I we talked about another one of her songs, didn't we?
SPEAKER_00Yes, we did. A while back a long time ago. I forgot to look that one up, but I think she was also part of other artists as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But she's definitely a good one to keep an ear and an eye on. Yeah. Give her a listen. Very good music.
SPEAKER_00Very she has collaborated with other main um big artists too. So one that comes in mind. Oh, gosh, she starts with A. I know it starts with A too, like Akane, but it's not Akane. Um, never mind. I'll remember later on who was who it is, because she is as good as two. She, ooh, she actually was in the 88 rising stage.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I'm trying to.
Croctical’s “Peace” And Rock Power
SPEAKER_00So Atarashiga Ko was one. Then we had um Soul, she is solo because they had some. Oh god. This is gonna kill me. I know it started with A. A A Witch. A couple of yes. Yeah, they have done collaborator collaborations. Uh and also there was another collaboration that they did with uh this other Japanese uh rap artist. That was oh my god, that song was powerful. Nah, yeah, yeah. That was a really good one. Uh, it was his song, and then A Witch and Akane were in there as they're also collaborating with that song. Oh, that song was good. Nah, I gotta remember that one. Uh, anyways, maybe we'll bring it and be like, let's talk about this one. Anyways, now, last but not least, we okay, so this is the monkey wrench band that I threw Sarah in the middle of the whole thing.
SPEAKER_02And that we were all cryptic about at the beginning.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes, yes. So the name of this band is a co-wit band. Now, the name of the band is Croctical, the name of the song is Peace. Now, why I was like, Sarah, Sarah, forget that one. We need to do this one because the front person for this group is Lee Sei Young, and she is the lead vocalist for Dreamcatcher, who is a, of course, idle group who are also very rockin' lately. They started as Phoenix, Poppy Girl group, then changed it to Dreamcatcher, had more members, and some members left, then it got poppy, and then it was like, no, we're gonna go all like rock, yeah, which we have pull an episode on Dreamcatcher as well. And we're like, wow, this is like so like not traditional for K-pop. And we were like, Dreamcatcher is amazing. Yeah, it's just like what rocking group, you know, not your typical girl group, yeah, exactly. And now see what she's like, I need to do a project, I need to do something. So her company said, Yeah, go ahead. So there is now this band that she is fronting, which is Crocktail, Croctic Croctical. Croctical, because I went, I saw an interview, and they said how to mention you know spell out the word or or the name. Croctical. Right. So those the CH is for chrome, and then rock, I think it was the genre. Yes, yes, tick was for metal, no, tikal or cow cal is for sword.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I don't know what the T part was, right? Because I did I was looking at that too, so it's like chrome rock sword, basically. Metal sword.
SPEAKER_00Wow. I'm like, yeah, that's amazing. I mean, I'm so happy for her. So this band just started, they just debuted in January. Now, what I like about this is that C Young is also the producer for the whole album. Oh, really? The whole album? Yes. Oh. Along with the guitarist. Let me actually introduce also the rest of the members. So now, like I said, yeah, Lisa Young is the actually vocal main vocalist for the group, uh, also the producer. Uh, also include Lee Young Young as bass and backing vocals, Lee Won't Suck and on drums, and Jay Wong Woo on guitars, and he's also uh backing vocals and producer for the uh for the group. That like I said, they just just brand new debuted it. They have an album, they're actually touring North America, they're coming to Boston. So Sarah and I were like uh kind of thinking, but anyways, so this song, oh my god, uh the whole album's awesome though, because I listed I started listening to the whole thing because I'm like, what else is there? But this song Peace that we're gonna talk about, it just like it brings me back to those 80 hair band, but more into the 90s, because you know, in the 80s was a little bit more, I don't know, had a different vibe, but this is more rocking than the 80s. This is like towards like late 80s, early 90s, when like alternative rock started getting with that grunge. Whoa, this powerful is greedy, full of attitude. Her performance, so much of a powerhouse. She is such a powerhouse voice voice. The guitarist just drum, just strong, drum drums are just driven. The bass player stands out too. Like, come on, it's everybody's in there. You can hear it, and the thing is that you can hear everybody. It's not like a a noise, but it's just like well-produced, where you can actually hear each instrument doing their thing, but her vocals. Oh my god, she is really out there, like, hello, surprise, it's me. I like that beginning. She's like, surprise! I'm like, what? Just like I'm introducing myself. Yes, I'm doing something else. Hi, everybody. Love it. The song, it's it's like showing that they're here to make an impact in the rock world, and I'm like, Yes, especially with her. Oh my god. I needed this. Oh, and by the way, I shared this song with our rock female DJ. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. I'm not gonna say the name of the radio station, but it's very popular here in Western Mass. I sent her a DM and I'm like, hey, too bad you guys cannot play this yet. Mm-mm-mm. But hey, why don't you give her a listen? Let me know. She was just like, oh my god, this is amazing. I love her. I'm like, yes! Somebody else that feels the same way as I do. So she's liking it too. And oh cool. Hey, if I get a 100% from one of our rock DJs here in Western Mayors, huh? That just let you know that this group is going far.
SPEAKER_02They're definitely, yes.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02They've got something. It's funny you were saying like 90s metal. I was thinking ACDC. So that's like late 70s, early 80s. Because it really like that was almost the very first thing that came into my head with that opening guitar and and bass back and forth. I was like, oh, you know what? This is so so ACDC, like pure heavy metal. Oh, going back to my old days. So it was like your quintessential rock and roll heavy metal song. What I love is her vocals are like so smooth and clear, but strong and controlled. There's no struggle with the, you know, a lot of heavy metal dudes are kind of like they can't do like her she's controlled.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_02She's not she's not just screaming and shrieking. This is like just pure power. The driving guitar just like pops out at the beginning and keeps going all the way through. It's like this recurring, it's not constant. It keeps coming back and just being like you know, and uh just awesome. It really like just when you're feeling a different sort of heart pumping rock feel, that guitar comes in and sort of swirls you around and throws you back into the mix. So it's like this circular grind of like sound. Love it. And then the two-minute-ish mark, there's like this fire solo that's just like someone just went wild for a minute having a good time. But like overall, yeah, this just put me in a whole I had my my metal head phase, like where I saw so many metal bands. I can't my brain is like it's probably why I don't hear so well anymore. But it it brought me back to that feeling only with a female front person, you know. Not I there were others. There have been other female metal front, but like not in a long time.
SPEAKER_00Not in a long time that it just doesn't sound like she is just like uh like you know definitely look pretty, but you know, I can cut you, you know, kind of deal, you know?
SPEAKER_02Because uh yeah, oh my god, it's just so well, just I'm a presence, I'm here, yeah. And you will you will hear me and see me, yes. Exactly, but again, without being not like shrieking, not screaming, not just everything so measured and focused and controlled. It's really wild. It's a great, great song. Yeah, between this and no more cry, I I went back and forth with those a lot. Like I was like, oh, I really let's repeat that. Let's repeat that. Yeah. Because you know, such powerful music, powerful feelings, and different from the others. You know what I mean? Right. Not pop, not no not techno, just real raw sounds.
SPEAKER_00Yes, love it. The the emotions that at least what Akane and what Si Young have been, you know, the way that they sing is like emotions. Oh love. Just love. Definitely. So from this play, these two are my favorites.
SPEAKER_02I'd say, yeah, probably for me too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean the other girls, they did a great job, you know. They're dancing, they're catchy, but guess what? It's just those two that have really got me, you know.
SPEAKER_02Well, I was gonna say, considering I only had like a day and a half with this song, it really did say it stick to me. Say it struck me.
SPEAKER_00What I thought you were just gonna be sassy to me because I just gave you like a day and a half to listen to one song. No, no, I managed to. But no, I was just like, I know Santa's gonna like this because this is like so R I L E. You're like, what?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, definitely. It was like boom. I was almost with ACDC. Hey guys, only gonna see ya.
Boston Tour Plans And Venue Chatter
SPEAKER_00She's oh no, but nah, okay. You know, I made up my mind. We're gonna go see her and then die the next day.
SPEAKER_02Leave work early, take a day off. Yeah, yeah. That's all right. All right, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, I'm working remote and my back hurts. But probably will because we're gonna be standing there like, uh, a new club for us too.
SPEAKER_02A new venue.
SPEAKER_00I don't think we've been there. Never call Club Sonia?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I so unless it was something else, like before, right, and we just didn't know. Because it does not ring a bell to me as a place that I've been. All right. But again, the way things change over so often, sometimes you're like, oh wait, didn't that used to be the whatever?
SPEAKER_00So probably it could have been some clubs that have closed. So, yeah. Like, this should be in the paradise. How come they're not going to paradise?
SPEAKER_02Or Brighton Music Hall, yeah. I don't know. Yeah. I'm not sure. Hmm. Hmm. All right, cool. Anyways. They're they're putting out their feelers, getting their legs, you know.
SPEAKER_00But you know what? I'm glad they're going to Boston New York. I'm sure there's one in the New York I don't care New York. I think they are going to New York too. But they're going to Boston. But they're coming to Boston. Coming to Boston. Massachusetts number one, please. Say BTS approved. They're going to days. Telling you. BTS comes here. Everybody should be coming over here, too. Right. Well, they're probably gonna start some. Everyone's gonna be Boston, huh? Huh? Yes, Boston. And then Western Mass. Hey! Hey! Come over here, even closer. I know, right?
SPEAKER_02You got Mullins? Yeah. Mullins Center. The whatever it's called in Springfield. There's a big Civic Cent. It used to be the Civic Center. I don't know what it is.
SPEAKER_00They changed the name so many times.
SPEAKER_02101 times they've changed it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Oh is it an insurance company now?
SPEAKER_02Oh Mass Mutual Center. Mass Mutual. Yeah. I don't think it's big enough. It's big enough for some other Oh really? I haven't been in years. Bruno Mars played there. Oh, really? Yes. Alright. The last time I went there was to see The Cult. Oh. Yeah. Okay. We're talking that early 90s rock. Yeah, late 80s, early 90s metal you were talking about. Okay. That's the last show I saw.
SPEAKER_00That's the only song I can remember. No, that's another song I know, but it's like the one that always sticks in my head.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was Sonic Temple.
SPEAKER_00Okay. See?
unknownFire.
SPEAKER_00The firewoman. Yeah. But they now will be only for those two songs, though, because that's the only ones I like.
SPEAKER_02No, I like a lot of their music. I just can't name any of it right now. Oh, okay. Because my brain is not in that place anymore. Yeah. They're on, they are actually in my playlist.
