Ticket buying has gotten so weird that a normal week can feel like a full-time job, and we’re not letting it slide. We’re Sarashi and Miss DJ Panic, and we’re back in full rants-and-ramblings mode with the concert news that actually affects your wallet, your schedule, and your sanity.

First up, we talk real life for a minute because it’s all connected: food sensitivities, allergy season, and the little “experiments” we do just to feel normal. Then we get into K-pop tour shockwaves, starting with i-dle’s North American tour cancellation and Cube Entertainment’s explanation about reorganizing schedules around global activities and a July comeback. We dig into what that timing really implies for rehearsals, staging, promotions, and why a later tour might mean a better show for fans and artists.

From there, the industry gets even bigger. Hybe, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment are reportedly moving toward a joint venture to create a global K-pop festival “Fanomenon,” with ambitions that openly aim past Coachella. We talk about what a mega K-pop festival in South Korea could mean for K-culture, global touring, and whether events like KCON get pushed aside.

We also break down Ticketmaster and ticket resale reform: Ontario’s face value resale cap, the fight over hidden fees and dynamic pricing, and the ongoing pressure from governments and fans to make ticketing fair. We wrap with more live-music buzz, including BTS tour kickoff energy, and why concerts are still our favorite form of therapy even when adulting is hard.

Subscribe, share this with a friend who’s tired of fees, and leave a review. What’s your hottest take on resale rules, tour cancellations, or the ticketing mess right now?

Episode Kickoff And Loose Plan

SPEAKER_00

Hey everybody, thanks for joining the conversation with Music Elixir. I'm Sadashi, and with me is Miss DJ Panic. Yeah. So I guess we sort of we did it again. We were trying to do music. We had it. We've been listening. It's just been a rough week for both of us. So we've decided it's gonna be a rants and ramblings instead. Mm-hmm. There's lots of new news and some news that we actually forgot to mention on our last rants and ramblings because we got so caught up on the ramble and the rambling and the discussion.

SPEAKER_04

And the joking.

Egg Sensitivity Test And Allergies

SPEAKER_00

That's how you know this is a real conversation because we're like we we were gonna talk about something, we got sidetracked. Yep, and here we are.

SPEAKER_04

So before we talk about news, I'm gonna talk about something personal. Oh so some of you know, or you know, um, I do have a uh sensitivity to eggs. Oh no, but lately I have been introducing products that contain eggs. Okay, and uh like mayonnaise is one of them, being fine. Um anything else like made with eggs, I'm like, okay, I have been fine. Tomorrow it will be the big the big challenge. I'm gonna consume a piece of egg, like just egg. Okay. What kind how are you gonna prepare? Hardboy egg. Oh, okay. Family already prepared the egg for me. So I said, I'm just gonna have a quarter of the egg and see what happens. If I have a major reaction, then I know what it's making giving me the major reaction. As of like right now, mayonnaise is fine, any you know, cakes and stuff like that that contains eggs, I'm I'm fine with. So if the eggs is like diluted with other things, I'm okay. But tomorrow will be the big the big reveal if I'm done with my sensitivity or not, because a few years ago my gallbladder was removed, so I don't know if it was the gallbladder that it was giving me the egg sensitivity. Oh, interesting. So now I'm you know, and since the gold bladder has been removed, those products I have no issue with. So we shall see. I'll tell you on our next episode, I'll tell you, yay, no. Oh yes, I can eat eggs again.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's sort of like my thing. Like a little cross-contamination doesn't really affect the gluten problem. It's like solid, you know, like if you fry some French fries in the same stuff as something else, it's it's okay.

SPEAKER_04

Right. It's the actual product. Yeah. That is just 100% it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, exactly.

SPEAKER_04

So tomorrow I'm gonna eat the 100% it.

SPEAKER_00

Us and our food allergies and our bad eyesight and our Oh god.

SPEAKER_04

Speaking of allergy season, it's allergy season. Oh my god, it's been awful. I went outside yesterday and I came back tired and yawning, and I'm like, why am I all like, oh, oh yeah, because I went outside where nature's at, it's trying to kill me.

SPEAKER_00

And it was like a perfectly beautiful, warm, sunny day. So uh but you could see the stuff floating in the air. It was bad.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, uh the junk was out there trying to get you. That that's unavoidable. That's just like, well, at least you can take some antihestamine in. At least for me, I'm fine with that. So but tomorrow will be the egg revealed, yes or no.

SPEAKER_00

Start with a quarter of the egg and work your way up, right? Just a quarter. See how that that happens. No, that's what I mean. And next time you can try like half and see what that does. Right. Right. Like give yourself time in between to see the results, recover from the results.

(G)I-DLE Tour Cancellation Fallout

SPEAKER_04

So actually, on our last episode of our ransom rambling, we mentioned about idols canceling the North American tour and uncertain about the uh Lollapaloo Shah, you know, appearance and all that stuff. So finally, uh there was something said by Cube Entertainment, kind of vague, of why they had to cancel the tour. Do you want to go ahead with that, my friend? Or do you want me to uh well I think you had the article up? Okay, so I'm reading out from Soomy Idol's North American tour confirmed to be canceled on in Cube comments. So I'm reading this verbatim. Cube Entertainment has confirmed that the entire North American leg of Idol's syncopation world tour has been canceled. Several days, ticket holders for the North American stop of Idol's ongoing syncopation tour unexpectedly received notifications that concert has been canceled. Oh, yeah. We saw that on X Twitter and we were like, what the heck is going on? Fans are going cray cray, we haven't seen anything. That's how we kind of we heard about it.

SPEAKER_00

Because you know, yeah, it was all fan stuff. The fans were just like and then going to Ticketmaster to confirm that. In fact, it said everything's cancelled.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that was I on the last episode. I actually did go to Ticketmaster and check on the adult page, and then in fact, everything was canceled. So on April 20th, May Daily reported that Cube Entertainment had officially confirmed that all of the group's scheduled concerts in Canada, the United States, and Mexico will not be taking place after comprehensively considering the direction of Idol's global activities, local scheduling, and all other circumstances, we decide to reorganize the North American tour States Cube. We are currently preparing so that they can meet their local fans through even higher quality concerts and wide variety of activities. As Idle has been confirmed to be making a comeback on July, it is said that the cancellation of their North American tour, which was scheduled to kick off on August 2nd, will allow them to carry out their comeback promotions on a more relaxed schedule. More relaxed schedule. So many speculations that we have made. You made one big one. BTS is now touring the US. And it's all sold out shows. Another speculation. So that's another one. They're like, yeah, let's uh give the money back to all the fans and like make this right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. Make it right. It could be a number of things, but it also now that they've actually made their statement, when you think about if they're making the comeback and album coming out in July, I'm sort of assuming that's what they mean by comeback is that they're gonna that that is kind of fast to like try and prepare everything for a tour to start in August. So maybe they did feel like they were just trying to rush things too much. You because you don't want your artists to be like flailing about trying to remember like you know, things they had to learn in a short period of time as far as staging and all of that. So, huh, you know, that could could legitimately be the reason. Yeah, because yeah, usually when they make a comeback, they there's a few months before a tour starts.

SPEAKER_04

So like uh we remember it's like oh Ida's coming on tour, and they were like, Well, no coming to Boston. I don't know, maybe this time you schedule Boston, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Hello, you know, I think after Well they they were gonna do it before.

SPEAKER_04

I know, so I like I said, I was ready with my pen line, ready to support my girls because I'm like, yay, there's a group that I'm just gonna love so much, and yeah, and then pandemic happened. Yay, ruin a lot of things for us, one of them being RSH2.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Oh, good for you.

SPEAKER_04

Great tickets. We're gonna for murder about that. We are. I have like the best tickets for Monster X, but then you know, we're doing really good with Monster X this year. We're our manifestation station.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, indeed. You know, we have IRB IP, and because it's in Boston, yeah, close by, we don't have to do all the same planning because the last time we saw them was New York. Yeah. And there was that whole thing where they we don't even know where, how they announced, like it was starting earlier because Babs was in town performing too. Oh my God.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, Babs, let me hating. It's like all of a sudden, you know what? I'm just gonna start, I'm gonna do a concert today. Repair, repair MSG for me, please. I'm like, what? Yeah, because that's just like it was like that. And I'm like, what's going on? It's like, oh yeah, Barbara's friend decided to have a concert today. And I'm like, what? Hey, no. Where did this come from? What he wanted to surprise her fans. I'm like, what? What where's the egg then now? What happened? Oh yeah, your your show is bump up like what an hour?

SPEAKER_00

An hour, yeah. They were opening the doors and starting an hour earlier. We were like, and luckily we did arrive early, but it still was not we missed the first three songs.

SPEAKER_04

It was like, what then? I missed the first three songs, the first song that went to the yard. Because again, everybody decided to have some kind of theater show that day, and the lines were everywhere on that damn block, and everybody was being crisscrossed. And I'm like, wait a minute, where's the where's the where's the one for Monster X? Where's the monster? Oh girl, so pissed. It was eight o'clock, the show started, and we were still outside, and we're like, What? Just let us in. Oh see the things I do for you, Monster X. Come on, come on, oh, call me some slack. Anyways, so you know, for G Idol, okay. This is good.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I went back to their old well, you know, it's funny, like every article you read, they still put the G in it. G Idol, right now. I'm like, they changed it.

SPEAKER_04

They're not girls anymore, they're women. I am, you know, I know, but you know, this is what happens when you start with a group name thinking that they will not last. This is what I think. Thinking that they will not last. So they just give them a name and I'm like, oh, they're not gonna last. But no, this girl group, my girl group are are evolving. Come on, that song mono, haw.

SPEAKER_00

Come on, yeah, amazing.

SPEAKER_04

So I I I'm still supporting my girls.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so universe is planning something better for them, and for us exactly, give us time to recover from this year's concert lineup, and for us, so maybe we're hoping.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm looking for fall winter, maybe?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, winter comeback, like maybe or maybe even starting 2027, you know, like give them six months, yeah. So January, February of next year. That would that would be ideal, yes, actually. Yes, so we'll see what happens, but idle.

SPEAKER_04

We're going to see you.

SPEAKER_00

Idol, yes, yes, we will be there.

K-Pop Giants Plan Phenomenon Festival

SPEAKER_04

We're putting it out there. VIP for idol. Now, if there's V V IP, okay, putting it out there too. Seeing the girls, yes, meeting the girls, yes, go for it. Woohoo! So we want to talk about the JYP and the blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_00

And the blah blah and the other the other, the hype JYP S M Y G to form joint venture for Korean Coachella.

SPEAKER_01

Is that what you're talking about?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this is a joint project that aims to create a global scale music event starting in 2027. Pretty big news. And we were actually this was the story we meant to talk about last week and totally lost track of. Yeah. But we even speculated a little. We were like, oh, I wonder if that's why JY Park stepped down so he can focus on on this. This is a huge event. Right. And that's like that's his thing, having a vision and creating it. Yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

So I know people are like, oh, he's so crazy and blah blah blah, and then I don't know, he's off the hook. And I'm like, yeah, that's what that's why we love him. And that's why people love him too.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So this was well, did you find it in Korea Herald also, or did you see it?

SPEAKER_04

Uh, this is from All K-pop.

SPEAKER_00

Ah, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Which is, you know, they make their own thing. But it's kind of like, what which one do you want to? You want Korean Herald or I want to read it from All K-pop? It doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_00

Which by the Probably like the same article.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So uh South Korea's four largest entertainment companies, Hybe, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment, are moving forward with plans to establish a joint venture aimed at creating a global music festival. Global. Global. That's it's huge. So the move signals a major shift in the global strategy strategy of the K-pop industry. According to an April 16th report complied by Business Post, the four companies recently submitted a business combination filing to the Korean Fair Trade Commission as part of the process to establish a new corporation dedicated to concerts planning and festival production.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, yeah. Yeah, it's funny. It's the the wording's a little different, but it's almost the same as the Okay. The Korea Herald.

SPEAKER_04

So the finally is finally uh requires because of Hive is classified as part of a large conglomerate with assets exceeding five trillion won. What? Yeah, true. Wallace M Entertainment is affiliation with the Cacao Group, which is also designed as a major corporation corporate group. Although the regulators did not confirm specific filings, it states that review timelines vary depending on the details each case. Blah blah blah blah. Okay, I don't care about that. Okay. So aiming beyond Coachella. Why G why J No J Y Park J Y Park has positioned phenomenon as a festival designed to surpass globally recognized events such as Coachella. His vision includes building a world-class K-pop performance platform and establishing a flagship culture intellectual property for South Korea. See? His vision is so huge. That it's like I need to step down because I got this in my head that I'm planning this thing bigger than just my my company, because it was his company. Yeah, exactly. And he stepped down and uh wow.

SPEAKER_00

So do you have any more? Well, it's joint venture is being considered as a collaborative model to explore the global expansion of K culture, including K-pop. In case you couldn't tell, the title phenomenon is fan and phenomenon melded together to create a mega event. They're planning, hoping to launch this in December of 2027 in South Korea, featuring artists from all of the agencies. And then from there, they're hoping for like a uh global expansion touring the event across major cities starting in May of 2028.

SPEAKER_03

Yo, what? Yo, bye-bye Kcon.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wow. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Bye bye Kcon.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this would be their way of debuting their own Bye bye Kcon. Having some some of the established artists performing, but also introducing.

SPEAKER_04

If they're gonna do this and go global, bye bye Kcon.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, yeah. Because that's exactly yeah, bringing K culture and K-pop into the mainstream. But so we're looking at like a year and a half out. They could be bringing this globally. Major festival like Lollapalooza, like Coachella. So oh pretty cool. They're like, why are we sending our artists to these events when we could have our own?

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you and I also I don't think we talked about it in the episode because we hadn't talked about the article, but we were like, this could be a good destination event. So let's manifest that too. We're gonna go to the phenomenon in South Korea in 2027.

SPEAKER_04

Sarah and I will be going to South Korea to attend to the Phenomenon event. We're gonna be having some good old time. It will be a major trip, so we start saving right now. Or the universe will just plant us some money somewhere. We'll win some money. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe benefactor will give us.

SPEAKER_04

Well like, hey, I'll invite you over. Because you guys talk about me and love me. I'm like, we do. We love you. We love him, he's so breaking.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's we understand his vision. We do, we get his vision.

SPEAKER_04

We don't poo-poo him or make fun of him, we love him. We do. I know when people are like, why is he singing that song and why is he wearing that? And I'm like, because he's an entertainer.

SPEAKER_00

That's what it's all about, yeah. Exactly. Ah, he's yeah. Yes, so that's wicked cool news. Very awesome.

SPEAKER_04

Well, K-Kon, you don't want to make it available for New York anymore, like it did last time, and it used to be in Dallas too. They used to go to Texas, that's gone. So now it's just gonna be LA. Well, at least California's been. We'll see what happens. So wow, wow. You know, they're probably thinking, you know, if people are spending all that money to go to K-Con, why don't just like do the same? We're just gonna have artists.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, that would be that would be wild. That would be awesome.

Ticketmaster Resale Caps And Fee Lawsuits

SPEAKER_04

It will be. Oh my god. Can't wait. Well, we'll see. We'll see. So now that we're still talking about concerts and then a possible major K-pop, Lollapalooza like event going on, you know, for next year. Let's talk about Ticketmaster. Because every when that verdict happened, yo, things have been changing like daily. Oh, yeah, I know. Daily. This is not like oh nah now, we gotta wait. No. These are things happening like now. Every day, something new popping up. Every yeah. So one of them being Ticketmaster in Ontario for resale tickets after new law caps prices. So I'm reading this from actually a um Korean, not Korean, can uh CBC in Canada. Uh this article is from Abby Hudges. She is a reporter for CBC News. Uh, so the Ticketmaster has begun the listing resale tickets for Ontario events to comply with a new provincial law that caps the prices of such tickets at face value. Hello. That's what we've been saying. Hello. We have turned blue from saying that from this podcast that it should be at face value. It's ridiculous now. So there's a clause here saying we remain committed to creating a fair and secure ticket marketplace for everyone in compliance uh with all applicable laws and regulations. Uh this is uh Durierne said, adding that Ticketmaster has been notified customers of the changes. This is in Canada. We're like, yay. I remember I I saw somebody on X Twitter saying, How about US? When is this gonna happen?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_04

When is this gonna happen?

SPEAKER_00

Well, even in Canada, so far it's only in Ontario.

SPEAKER_04

So So you have the lawmakers there, they're like, Yeah, we're cutting the shit on this. Cut the shit. Yep. You said, you know, we're gonna pass a bill, which they did. They passed it's a bill. Uh a budget bill. Uh so the morum comes after the Ontario governor passes budget bill, which includes the resale ticket price cap. The bill received royal assessment on Friday. So this happened Friday, and this was reported when April 24th? Is that when it was reported? So April 24th. So Friday was April 24th. Yeah. And she yeah, this was posted on the 24th.

SPEAKER_00

So hey, yay. And just so you know, we're recording on April 25th. So this literally just happened yesterday.

SPEAKER_04

So StubHub, Sick Geek, Oppost Change. Yeah, because these are the two biggest ticket resellers.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know, it's like, oh, whoa. Of course. It's like, what? Why? Why are you doing that? Why are you doing that? Because you know, you they get a cut from that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. No, same way that Ticketmaster does when you resell on Ticketmaster, they take a fee again from you. Yeah. And people are like, well, that's so unfair, because if I have to sell my ticket, they take a cut. So I'm only getting less than the face value. And like the reality is, think of even just 20 years ago, if we couldn't make it to a concert, we were either out the money, or you had to find someone you knew who liked the same group who might want to go and buy the ticket off you. Yeah. Which you would still have to sell for face value. Yeah. So I'm like, so what's worse? Spending$75 on a ticket and ending up only getting like$50 because of whatever transactions?

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Or just getting nothing. You're not going and you're out the$75, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

So like, it's like your car. You buy it for$20,000, you drive it off the lot, it's immediately worth$16,000. Yeah.

unknown

You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

It's the same thing. It depreciates in value.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

You know, I I know. Even though when like these cancellations that are happening, people aren't getting what they paid because they don't refund the fees. They only refund the face value of the ticket.

SPEAKER_04

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

So it's the same kind of thing. And if you want to be able to at least get offload the ticket and get something for it, it's a better option than nothing. You know what I mean? And then this again gets rid of all the scalpers because they're not going to be able to make money off these tickets. Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Or fans, you know, trying to make some money so to pay off the pay off their own trip to go see the green. That's one example that Sarah made from some army. Hey, I want extra to pay off on my trip. I'm like, really? Yo. Yeah. Sounds like this is the first rodeo. Girl, you you don't do that. Now you don't do that. Now everybody's like, what? You're the reason, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. I can't go because you bought a ticket and now you're gonna charge double for it to cover your own expenses. That's just and so yeah, part of all of this is due to, and this is actually from the office of the attorney general in the District of Columbia, so that's here, DC. That like all of this is coming about because Live Nation and Ticketmaster boosted profits by charging predatory hidden fees, taking advantage of residents buying tickets for their favorite artists. So this is specifically to DC, what they're talking about. But like, yeah, they they would advertise a certain ticket price. Like you when you go in, they're like, tickets could range from 75 to 90 dollars. You get in there and suddenly everything's a minimum of 125 and up. Deceptive low ticket prices that did not include mandatory fees. They did not properly disclose the fees it charged. They used misleading pressure tactics to sell tickets. So that's like the dynamic pricing stuff. Right. And uh so now Ticketmaster has to pay$9.9 million to the District of Columbia.

SPEAKER_04

So are we getting some money for that VIP Melissa X that we just, you know, purchase?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, because like I said, this particular um piece I'm reading is from the Attorney General of District of Columbia. But it's gonna set a precedent across the board because that's sort of like what Ontario is doing is like saying, you know what? We're not saying you can't resell your ticket, but what we're saying is you have to sell it for what you bought it at. Yeah, and now they're saying that the full price of tickets has to be shown, including the fees, and be upfront throughout the purchase process, which Ticketmaster did start doing when all of this lawsuit stuff started to happen. And then they have to share additional information about the fees it charges and share additional information about its ticket hold timer, which like when you're gonna purchase your tickets, you know, they're like you have five minutes to decide. And if you're trying to get it. Oh my god, that's stressful. Exactly. Stressful. So yeah, unnecessary, just unnecessary. So this is yeah, exactly. Like if you've got them in your hold, it's like having something in your shopping cart. Someone can't come take it out while you're deciding on the next item you're gonna buy.

SPEAKER_04

Well, even at you, like let's see, um, like Amazon and maybe all the retailers, you know, they're like, oh, you have 24 hours to, you know, cat, you know, purchase your your otherwise it will be let go. I mean, not saying, you know, hold on to tickets for 24 hours. No, exactly.

Harry Styles Scalpers And 360 Stages

SPEAKER_00

But I mean most people don't, but give you more than 10 minutes to sort out your exactly. You know, call the people you need to call. Like, are you still in? Do you want to go? This is what it's gonna be, you know? It's pretty, pretty wild, pretty crazy. And then uh, I guess we could also mention, even though it has nothing to do with K-pop or J Pop, but Ticketmaster also just canceled a bunch of the Harry Styles that you and I were talking. We wanted to see Harry. I saw that blur his residency.

SPEAKER_04

Those tickets being recovered. And I'm like, oh my god. Harry.

SPEAKER_00

It seems like what you have to do is now put in like a request to get tickets and they'll notify you if you can buy them. But still, it's now all of these because they found out that it was in fact a set of like scalpers with multiple IP addresses and multiple IDs buying loads of tickets to resell. So yeah, it at least it seems like Ticketmaster Live Nation are taking all of this seriously and hearing fans and the government basically saying you can't do this to people. No, no, no, so that's pretty cool. So we might get to see Harry.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, we'll keep that we'll keep that in mind. Oh my god. I do want to see Harry, but when does the concert start what in August? No, yeah. September. September. Okay, okay. Am I thinking this is doable? Okay. I'm like, I do want to see Harry.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think it's like maybe mid-August through early November. Because it's like three months, I think. It's a residency, yeah. Residence MSG. I know it's definitely September and October.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because I I was trying to get us tickets and I was like clicking every date, and I was like, how are they sold out already? They just went on sale. Girl. These scalpers.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so I I'll put a request around there to see Harry. You put yours, see whoever gets them first. I want to see Harry. Oh my god. And I think he's also uh doing a 365 stage as well. Oh really? At least at the concert that I saw that's on Netflix currently for this tour. You can see it on Netflix if you cannot, you know, go. But the stage he's a you know, like like BTS is around. Cool. So I'm like, yeah. Because he's like on this there, the stage is in the middle and he's going around singing and whatever and doing his thing.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, oh that really is the best way to see things. It is. We had a dinky little place down where I grew up. It was a circular stage. I mean, it was small, but some fairly big names came, you know, they might have been big names 20 years ago, but still. Right. When you like someone, you like someone and you'll go see them, and it was the best venue because there's really no bad seat when you're in a 360 arena, you know. You because yeah, it's accessible from all sides, whereas in a regular arena setup with the stage at one end, yeah. First of all, you're missing a bunch of seats that don't get filled. That's true. And then some people get awesome views, and then other people are like, Where's my binoculars? Exactly. So it's like, yeah, even if you're in the nosebleeds with 360, you're gonna see something. Yes. You know what I mean? Yes. So it's it's awesome. Listen to me. You know what I mean? You know what I mean?

BTS Tour Hype And City Prep

SPEAKER_04

So speaking of BTS concert, uh so like Sarah said, today's April 25th, and it's the start of the North American tour in Tampa. Yes, OMG. Did you saw the mayor of Tampa? She took the uh the old Capitol building and turned it purple.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, awesome!

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, with light, and and she's on social media like hey, and then she's what was she dancing to? I don't know if it was a butter or body to I think it was butter, and then she was like pointing to the building, like, turn it on now. I'm like, look at her. She's like took the air, the time Tampa Airport, big sign says, Welcome, army with balloons. Oh wow. I was just like, what? And also at the airport, there's a pop-up store. I'm like, what? Can we just fly to Tampa?

SPEAKER_00

Just go to the pop-up store. Well, I think they even also um they started the merch sales yesterday.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

They had early merch sales and stuff. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

The pickup. You can go pick up uh yeah, yesterday. I don't know, was it also for early?

SPEAKER_00

I think so too, right? I think so. There were certain lines for people who had pre-ordered to pick up, but there were also lines of just go get your merch, like how we did with sugar and how you could do a gin. Remember, we were talking about, I was like, hopefully they do this. Yeah. Because that would really help a lot of people. Yes. And it would also help them because it'll keep the lines down day of the concerts, you know. Exactly. It's just yeah, a really good planning. But they they've closed off some roads down there near the stadium, too.

SPEAKER_04

The uh the local news station was directing people as of BTS is in town, so you know, these are the roads that are closed. Please use these other roads if you're not attending. And I was like, yes, this is the way it should be. They know very well. BTS is here, it's kind of like royalty.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I was gonna say, hopefully, you know, all of the cities doing things, having concerts, yeah, will take these types of things into consideration. Because it is, it's this is massive. You have people not just from the US, you do have people flying in from all over for these shows. So it's like the only one that I think would really be a hard time is is Vegas. Because that allegiance stadium is like bonk right in the middle.

SPEAKER_04

It's like that's oh I'm sure they already have like, yeah, go to the Casino and it's a pop-up and another one for pickup, blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_04

We'll see about that because you know, Army will be posting out there like, so this is what's going on in Vegas, you know, just like right now for Tampa. So this is what's going on in Tampa. And I think some of uh whoever were picking up merch, the boys were also rehearsing. They're like, Oh my god, the guys are rehearsing or this and that. I'm like, aww. Yeah, that's so cool. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, there's people like camped outside doing it. It's sound check.

SPEAKER_04

Listen, you can hear I hope the weather's nice down in Tampa.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, hopefully it stays because they're an open air arena, like we're gonna be going.

SPEAKER_04

Another thing, too. I wonder what if they're gonna have the same outfits.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't know. We were talking about that.

SPEAKER_04

It's Tampa Warmer is not like you know, in Korea and Tokyo, yeah. That is still relatively cool. Yeah, no, it's definitely freaking almost the Caribbean.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we talked about that though. I was like, they are not gonna be wearing those leather outfits in August.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, Jimmy with a big old coat. I know, right? And who else has the fluffy coat? Oh my god, sugar, sugar, sugar with the big fluffy.

SPEAKER_00

They're gonna be like, huh. I'm sure they'll adapt them.

SPEAKER_04

You know, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe they'll have leather shorts on.

SPEAKER_04

And then wow, you know, it's gonna be in August here in Boston, so you know, it's really muggy, and then the sun's still out there.

SPEAKER_00

Humid and nasty, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And sun beaming on you on black clothing and on top of leather. These kids were melting inside.

SPEAKER_00

Well, even the show starts today, it's still maybe a little light out, but even in the dark, it just stays hot and yeah, clammy at night here. So I'm I'm pretty sure they've taken all that into consideration and they'll because Vegas is hot too. Yeah, you know? Okay.

SPEAKER_04

See, see, we're concerning, we're concerned about our boys' health when it comes to heat.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know, because they were getting hot, overheated, and tired on the stages in Korea and and Japan. So, you know, yeah, they were still putting bullets and it was cold there. You could see people's breath, so hmm.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Uh but yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But yeah, the boys are like, it's hot, it's hot. I was like, really? Jeez. So, well, we'll see. Hopefully, uh there'll be a new new costumes. But I'm glad this is happening for Ticketmaster. We have been waiting for this karma to happen.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Because um, you know, people Sarah and I use concerts at therapy, you know. This is our therapy, this is how we distress, this is how we have fun. We don't really go to major vacation destinations. We save our money for concerts, that's our vacation destination. Exactly. You know, we have traveled to New Jersey plenty of times and New York City, and New York City, of course, just to see our favorites, and uh you know, yes, this it just I'm glad that this is happening.

Cheap Ticket Deals And Concert Nostalgia

SPEAKER_00

Very, very glad because this is well. Plus, we've been going to concerts for years. Yes, you know, remember we're the same age as Steve Ayoke, of course. So that means we've had a lot of concert years, yes, and we've talked about remembering ticket prices as low as$17.50.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, now that you said that, did you sell the whole Ticketmaster? Oh,$30 tickets for concerts. Have you seen that?

SPEAKER_00

No, I did not.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, it's a group, there's a small group, usually just American um concerts going here. Okay. Um, but one of them is uh Five Seconds of Summer, Five Death Punch, there's some other rap artists, uh, a lot of bands. Okay, and maybe a couple of solo. But I was just like, because family was like, oh my god,$30 tickets? I know, right? Really? Where? It's just like Ticketmaster. Really?

SPEAKER_00

Well, even in the early 90s, there were 20 bands for 20 bucks things going on.

SPEAKER_04

I remember that.

SPEAKER_00

Like I remember that.

SPEAKER_04

There was one at you know what you called uh which is now Xfinity or Verizon, what? Oh, uh Great Woods. Yes, yeah, yeah. I went to one, actually, that was my first one here in the in in Massachusetts when I moved here. And uh my coworker at the time uh landed two tickets, and then one of them had a oh my god, Beck, Evanescent. I'm trying to remember my favorite ones. Interpol. Oh, wow. This is when Interpol started. Yeah, so it was like in a small stage, and I'm like, oh my god, and I'm running from the big stage to the other stage because I didn't want to miss it, and I just got there when they started the song, and I'm like, Yes, yes. So that was really cool while I left my friend. She's like, but I want to watch this one. No, I'm here for Interpol. You just know how much I love this band, and I ran. I'll be back. Yeah, that was that was awesome. So that was awesome. I get we got to see amazing bands, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

For 20 bucks. Yeah, no, I saw Blondie, Echo and the Bunny Men, Mindy My Boston's, oh, what was it? Fountains of Wayne, James, Local H. Oh my god, do you remember?

unknown

Right? Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, yeah, it was there were a lot of bands, but like there were big names, there were little names, there were everybody in between.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So it's possible to do this type of stuff, you know? Yeah, and it's like music festivals. Yeah. And actually, you know, now that I think of it, yeah, a lot of these up and coming groups could try going to the Boston calling. Okay. Because that's the same, that's a festival, that's a three-day multiple artist performing. And it's cool. I because I I went a few years ago and it was really awesome because you like you could just go anywhere, any stage you wanted, and it's just incredible. So that's you know something people could think about. Like, don't you don't have to aim for the Lollapalooza and Coachellas. Go to smaller festivals like that and get yourself out there. Because it's cool, because we're just never gonna stop promoting Boston. Boston, come to Boston, everybody.

SPEAKER_04

Anyway, it's a smaller city, it's a cleaner city, it's um really I I public transportation is a must to you, so to keep your sanity. Yeah, if you didn't grow up driving there, it's a little exactly. If you do not know the neighborhoods, please do not drive into Boston. I do recommend that. But you know, the tea is cool, the public transportation, and it's walkable too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was gonna say you can actually walk a lot of the big stuff in Boston.

SPEAKER_04

So if you like to walk, this is your town. This is your town, and there's like a lot of things to do in there. A lot of things to do. Yes. We like we don't live there, but I mean we kind of live there.

SPEAKER_00

You know, proximity. It's proximity. Yes. Yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_04

So do we want to mention I was gonna mention some of the groups that are gonna be uh$30. Oh, okay. Or$30 off. Hold on, now it's$30 off. I thought it was like$30. Hold on.

SPEAKER_00

But still,$30 off makes no okay. Let's see.

SPEAKER_04

Summer of over 4,000 shows,$30 tickets. Oh, okay. On sale April 20th through May 5th. Unlock early access details below. So we have this the countdown started on Ticketmaster on uh 30 days. It's been three days, three days, 20 hours, 50 minutes, blah blah blah. Okay, so the shows including Suicide Boys, 311 and Dirty Heads, Five Seconds on Summer, Ari Lem Lennox, Avenge Sevenfold, and Good Charlotte. Oh my god, good Charlotte Yo, I didn't see this one, baby metal. Really? Yes, okay, so we're gonna get on that.

SPEAKER_01

We gotta get on that now.

SPEAKER_04

I thought they didn't have any Japanese, but I think this the Black Crows, okay, whatever. Breaking Benjamin, Charlie Poof, hey, uh Chicago and Sticks.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? I think I did see that, but I didn't really read all those names are striking me as something I sort of looked over. Yeah. Because I was like, I didn't see baby metal in there, so me neither.

SPEAKER_04

Now I see it. They're right next to a good Charlotte. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Like I said, now we gotta get on there.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, now we gotta see our kicks. We gotta see our little girls. Okay, uh, let's see, coral reef, uh, deep purple. Wow, yeah, Derman Kennedy. Don't know how to pronounce this one, but his last name is Bentley. Uh Empire of the Sun. Hey, Evanescence, which I already mentioned. Five finger death punch, the fray, cosmic, what? The fray, the fray, the fray, yes, goo goo dolls, goose, I don't know who they are. The guess who Guns and Roses, eh. Yeah. I don't even know. I won't even pay them for a dollar, anyways. Hank Williams Jr. Oh wow! Uh Hardy James Taylor. Uh well he's local. Uh Jason Aldean. He's he's a country singer. Okay. John Fogerty. Okay, John Mellencamp. John Mulaney. Iron Man. What? Now, this is a band I need to see. Yeah, no, because they're they're they're optimal. Come on. Bruce Dickenson, yeah. My man. It's my man, and the poor guy has gone through something. Oh my god, yeah. I mean, okay, I gotta go see Maiden. Cash on Kit Cuddy, Lil' Wayne, uh, Lindsay Strings, Luke Bryan, Leonard Skinner, and Forner Wow. Uh Munchin M motion less in white Wally Crew?

SPEAKER_00

No. I don't know that it could be all a Motley Crue though. I didn't think we were getting along.

SPEAKER_04

No, Motley Crue. I mean, we have seen clips of Wachuma Collie. He's not even singing. He's just saying names. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We're like, what the hell are they doing?

SPEAKER_00

Way back in the day I saw Motley Crue, but I don't know that I would now.

SPEAKER_04

I was living in Puerto Rico and they never came to Puerto Rico. And my mom was not gonna let me go to the States to see them. So you know that's okay. Uh let's see. New kids on the block? Well, whoa, whoa, wow. New kids on the block? Really? Yeah. Wow. Okay. O A R or Mount Joy. Nayo and Akon. Outlaw Music Festival. Parker McCullum. Paul Simon. Wow. Pitbull. Hey! How am I seeing Pippo? It's funny. Uh the Pussycat dolls. I can't believe they're still around. I know. Uh Riley Green. Rob Zombie with Marilyn Manson.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_00

It's yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, you know. Yeah. Shine Down. Simple plan. OMG. Family's gonna freak. Simple plan.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, we gotta go. And our local boy stained. Oh yeah. They're right here from uh South Springfield, Massachusetts. Hey! I remember seeing them live. Oh my god. That was like, wow, I love this group. This is amazing. Uh let's see. TLC and Salt and Peppa The Romantics. Oh, wow. With Toto and Christopher Cross.

SPEAKER_00

He was uh um well I used to watch General Hospital. He did Laura's theme and General Hospital Sailing, sailing. He did that song Sailing.

SPEAKER_04

Sailing.

SPEAKER_00

He wasn't my style then either, but I watched General Hospital, so I knew the song. I can't I couldn't tell you how it goes. I haven't watched General Hospital.

SPEAKER_04

And I know the romantics, but that guy knew.

SPEAKER_00

You'd know if you heard it. Okay. Because it never really was, you couldn't escape it.

SPEAKER_04

Oh it's one of those like get off my head, I don't want you. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, no offense to anyone who does like him. It's just not my thing.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. So and apparently there's more artists in this$30 ticket thing.

SPEAKER_00

Wow.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, but simple plan. Simple plan. Baby metal. I know. Yeah. That's awesome. I am hidden.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. They're cool bank accounting it. I just hope they're local. This ticket. Yeah, that's another thing. I'm like thinking that okay, so in my head, well, we know baby metal is coming to Massachusetts. Uh the other two that I really want to see, I don't know where they're coming. I don't know if they're coming to my MA. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

They probably would. Iron Maiden's been here before.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

They were here a couple of years ago. Missed them.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, love. Love.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

What were you gonna say?

SPEAKER_00

That was a rant and a half.

SPEAKER_04

Because we're so excited.$30 tickets.$30 tickets. Like, come on. Yes, 100%. Okay. Just made my weekend.

BigBang Tour Tease And Budget Reality

SPEAKER_00

Well, let's see. I was gonna say in other news. We'll have to see what comes of this.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But at the end of their Coachella set, Big Bang did announce they're gonna be doing an album and a tour. G D have mentioned it. Yep. So the three remaining members, I should say. The trio of Big Bang now.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So what Jay Sang, Tae Yang, and G Dragon. And G Dang.

SPEAKER_04

Day Song. Day Song, G Dragon, and Tae Yang. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm saying Yang instead of Yang. Sorry.

SPEAKER_04

That'll be No TOP. He's doing his own thing. You know, his his record's doing really well. His solo record's doing really well. Um, I know fans are like, maybe he will just pop somewhere.

SPEAKER_00

Appear, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he'll make like an appearance. You know?

SPEAKER_00

Yep. We'll just have to wait and see. But in the meantime, they have announced that they're planning to um do a what they could do?

SPEAKER_04

Big bang with special guest. Oh top. Yeah, that's TOP. That could work. Oh my god, yes. But of course, you know. I mean, I don't think TOP has any not grudge, but not, you know, like he's still okay with the other three members. I don't know. Oh, we'll see. We'll see. Um manifestation station. If this is to happen, please have TOP as a artist, please. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Ahead of this, there's a this is from the Korea Herald. Big Bang stirred up fans with an eye-catching teaser poster for the upcoming world tour uploaded by YG Entertainment on Friday. So yesterday. Okay. So we'll see, we'll see. That's big possibility from Big Bang.

SPEAKER_04

That's huge. I will love to see them. I mean, just GD himself sold out all his stuff over here, and I'm like, yeah, I couldn't see. People were going wild for it. I was just like, well, first of all, he was not in Boston, so yeah, no, the closest he came was New Jersey. Yeah, no. I mean, sorry, GD. I love you, but come on. My budget, my budget. You know, I can't go so far now. Car payments. I have a brand new not a brand new car. Yeah, it's a brand new car. New to you. New to me, you know, pre-owned, but I mean, uh then still have car payments. And my goal is to finish paying off my car December.

SPEAKER_00

So now I I did that with my car when I bought it. I was like, I am going, you know, I did the like four-year plan thing, but I was like, will I get penalized if I pay it off early? And they were like, no. I was like, then I asked the same question.

SPEAKER_04

That's what I worked for.

Fuma Kikuchi Health Break Update

SPEAKER_00

Because I was like, I don't want this looming over me forever. And then so in closing, should we just send out a little shout out to our our fumakoon? Yes. So Timeless member Fumakikuchi is this is on Starto Entertainment News. It was also in Tokyo Hive article, but I'll read the report from the Starto Entertainment. SPEAKER_03

Yay!

SPEAKER_00

Yes, so we wish him well. Hope he gets better, heals up.

SPEAKER_04

Speedy recovery, Fuma Coon, and stop going out with Yamara. Have you seen the Johnino? Just I've been seeing a lot of Yamara and Fuma coon going out, going to eat, doing their thing, you know. Stop going out. Nino's on tour.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_04

I know they're holding up the channel. They're holding up the channel, but you know, with that being said, maybe I don't know, too, yeah, too much thing scheduled for him. And if the if he's doing that extra project, if Yamara and him have to do extra episodes just because to cover, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And um, so maybe running around in the cold Tokyo air.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Might uh, you know. Yeah. Who knows? But yes, we we wish him well and hope he gets better soon. And you know, speaking of Nino being on tour. Wait, wait. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Good okay, so the Yonino channel, you know, episode. Fuma coon is sick. Yum and I will go over and take care of Fuma Coon. How about bring him homemade soup? Yum yum will be like, like, Fuma Coon is sick. I'm bringing him some soup and stuff like that. And then I'm sure Fuma will be like, What are you doing here? You know, I'm sick, what do you want? Okay, so that will be a good episode. Everybody will love that. Senpai taking care of going. What? What?

Jin And Arashi Delulu Connections

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but I was yesterday I was thinking of something because so after BTS's two dates in in Japan, yeah. Like some of the members went back to Korea immediately for you know, Jay Hope for his grandmother's services, and everybody was going back before they came over here to the States. Right. But like we know RM and V stayed and went to the Pokemon world there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And Jin had stayed also. And I had a thought. I was like, I wonder if Jin went to go see the Arashi show. Oh my god. But it was just a thought I had because I was like, what did Jin need to stay for? Promotions, but did he go to because it didn't say he stayed like in Tokyo? So wherever Arashi was playing, did he go? Because he's okay, let's look at the schedule. And then I was like, and I wonder if you have to schedule? How about you schedule? And did Aiba go to the BTS show?

SPEAKER_04

Like oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Right? We can't find it. Anything could happen.

SPEAKER_04

We're gonna be the Lulu right now. I'm gonna look this up. So do you have the Arashi tour schedule?

SPEAKER_00

I mean I bet I can get it pretty quick. Oh no, I guess it didn't line up. Because they were there the 17th and 18th. And the next show the previous show was the 6th to 8th for Arashi, and then not again till the 24th to the 26th. So no, he wouldn't have made it because he had to be flying over here to Tampa. Darn it. But that's not to say Iba didn't possibly go check out the BTS concert on their in-between time.

SPEAKER_04

Right, because the Japan was the 17 and 18.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So that's like I said, the RShi shows in Nagoya were the 6th and 8th. Right. And then they didn't have any more happening until the 24th through the 26th. So they're doing shows right now. But it was, you know, that was just my little Dululu. So it is very possible that Ibo got to see Jin and maybe they met up after, and that's why Jin hung out. I know they're saying it was promotions, but I want to have faith that those two have a really good little buddy bond. You know what I mean? Because they're so cute together. I know when they were doing their little taking care of the animals, but then they had that like let's just hang out and have, you know, afternoon tea together. And oh, that was so cute. Okay. So it's a possibility.

SPEAKER_04

It's a possibility. We'll see if if something comes up, someone's like, oh some behind the scenes thing.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. Java with an army ball. That would be awesome. I know. Okay. But anyways, all right. So that was our delulu moment.

SPEAKER_04

You know, it's possible. You know, definitely.

SPEAKER_00

Because you know, two BTS members were on the snowman show. So hey, exactly. Anything can happen. That's promotion. Exactly. Okay.

Closing Livestream Plans And Listener Requests

SPEAKER_04

All right. Shall we end it there? Yes. Alright, everybody. Thank you for listening to this episode. Our ranch on ramblings. It's gonna be for a while. Our life has our our lives have been complicated the past two weeks. Yes, in the case. Like, oh, yes, adulting is so hard. That's why we love our concerts so we can de-stress and have some fun. And pretend we're not adults for a few hours. Exactly. Exactly. Just like we did the live streams of BTS. It's you know, we're we're taking it as going to a concert. So we have gone to Korea and of course Japan to see BTS. Yes. And then we're going back to Korea for the business.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, we are.

SPEAKER_04

And we're gonna be the Wanoke Rock live stream. Not live stream, documentary, they're calling it a documentary on May 2nd.

SPEAKER_00

But we're gonna do the Rashi live stream on May 31st.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

So we will be going to Japan.

SPEAKER_04

We're going to Japan and we're traveling very cheaply. Very cheaply. It is within our budget. Yes. It is within our budget. Family's like, you going back to the theater for yes, we I am. Absolutely. What we're doing is a double feature. It is like really.

SPEAKER_00

Well, because it's the anniversary concert for you know. Yeah. So hey, of course. Gotta do it.

SPEAKER_04

All right, everybody. Just you know, read and review. Please read and review. And if you would like, yeah, share. You know, talk with your friends. But please leave us a comment. We would like to hear your opinion on what's going on with these news. The whole ticket thing. If you're a new land, an idol fan, you know, what do you think about that of that outcome? Please, you know, send us a comment on X Twitter. Uh, you can also I forget. Do we have the Google show notes for the Google form?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Okay. It's it's I believe it's still in there. Yeah. Okay. So you can Google form us. Yeah. I mean, and if there's mu and again, if there's music you want to hear, an artist you want us to talk about, let us know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Let us know. Yeah. Because we, you know, we're trying with the music. This was just a bad week. No, yeah. This is like, oh my god. Okay. So until next time. Bye bye.
