One tiny bite of egg turns into a full-body reality check. We talk through what it feels like when a food allergy shifts in real time, why experimenting alone is a bad idea, and how fast your brain goes from “I’m probably fine” to “Where’s my phone to call 911?”

Then we do what we do best: let music take over. We get into BTS obsession mode, including the hilarious moment a coworker’s subconscious gets hijacked by merch dreams, and the even funnier part where our own BTS dreams show up with the wrong members despite a quiz swearing otherwise. We dig into why a truly great album becomes a daily companion, how your favorite track changes with your mood, and why the “back to their roots” versus “too westernized” debate misses the point when the artistry is clearly coming from more mature, lived-in emotions.

We also branch out to other favorites, from T.O.P’s intensely personal work and the baggage people project onto artists, to Mamamoo’s comeback excitement clashing with the harsh math of US tour dates, travel, and midweek shows. And yes, we rant about concert smoke machines, migraines, and the chemical fog that can turn a night out into a recovery day.

Hit play, share this with your music-obsessed friend, and leave us a five-star rating and review. What song are you replaying nonstop right now?

Testing An Egg Allergy Alone

SPEAKER_02

I know, I don't know why. But I was thinking about. So, how did your egg sprament go?

SPEAKER_01

The continuation of my egg allergy. So let's start with uh personal stuff. Yeah. But I hope everybody, whoever is listening, I hope you're doing well. Because the things just happening in around the world. So, anyways. So if you're listening, it's because you want to distress and also have fun with us and laugh at our shenanigans. Or be mad at our shenanigans.

SPEAKER_02

Or laugh at our ridiculous lives, yeah. Right. Or commiserate.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But I'm sure a lot of people relate. Yes, definitely. So, continuation. So last weekend I did all right, for those who just started to listening to uh Music Elixir podcast, I mentioned that I do have an egg allergy and sensitivity to with eggs. Now, if the egg is incorporated like in or diluted like in the mayonnaise or in some type of baked good, I don't have a reaction. But um, so I was telling Sarah that my gallbladder was removed a few years ago, so I was thinking maybe that's why I'm not having the sensitivity like I was having before. So the the big, big challenge is to just have the egg, the actual corporate ingredient that will well send me to the bathroom. Or give me migraine, it's like, yeah, my allergic reaction is from stomach cramps to a uh migraine to just be sitting on a toilet. Pretty much. So if if you have This is the TMI if you have a if your lactose intolerance, you you know how I feel.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. You know how you feel with like gluten allergies too. It can take on many different forms of reaction.

SPEAKER_01

So life-threatening, like some people's throats will close, and you know, they go into a shock. No, and mine is not that at that point, it's just very uncomfortable. So I did. So I took this egg, I cut it in half, then I took the half and cut it in a quarter. I I took that quarter and cut that piece in half.

SPEAKER_02

Oh wow. So you went with an eighth?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I didn't because I'm like, I'm gonna start very slow. Good thinking. So I chewed it. The minute I swallow it, in seconds, my throat was just like now. I'm like, oh no. Am I having like the actual major reaction where your throat closes? I was all by myself, family was not around, which was a big major no-no. Yeah, that's no.

SPEAKER_02

Always experiment with people around.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, and I was like, oh MG. So I had my cell phone in hand just in case if I needed to call 911 if I was having a major emergency. So I'm telling family about it. This is what I'm doing, this is what I'm taking. I'm gonna say I got my clariton next to because Claritin, um, don't want to name it, but that works for me. So I was like, oh no. So I took a claritin, my head started getting like in a fuzzy feel. You feel like like it felt like if I was like in some kind of drug. Okay. So I was like, ooh, what is this? Ooh, I don't like this. I'm like, okay, let me go take that clariton. I'm like, let me calm down, let me see how I'm feeling. My one of my tonsils was hurting. Oh. Yeah. I'm like, what? This is so weird. So I'm like, okay. I'm like, oh my god, let me uh let me let me make sure how am I feeling. And I'm like, and I have my phone, I'm like, I have like on button for 911 and be like, yeah, this is what I'm experiencing. But it didn't happen. I was drinking a lot of water, drinking a lot of water. Then I was taking the medication. I took the medication and drinking water, and that was I still was having the sensitivity, but it wasn't as major. I wonder if the actual medication helped some of it to calm down. So, no eggs for me. Okay, no eggs for me. That was scary. I absolutely that was a new reaction I never had with eggs. So new. New, new, new, which I'm gonna tell my doctor when I have a physical uh tell her. So I did this. So new.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, that's you should have waited for family to be around.

SPEAKER_01

I know, but I'm like they were doing things and I didn't want to wait.

A Restaurant Reaction And Hives

SPEAKER_02

Yikes. No, I had I actually had that happen once in a restaurant. Luckily, I was with my family, but like I was like, I'm getting hot. I was like, I feel like my face is burning up. Yeah. And I was like, and I'm getting I'm getting all congested. I can't breathe. Like, but not like my throat was closing up, just like my head was filling up with something. It was low lighting and stuff, and everybody's like, no, you're just kind of crazy. But then we left and we went outside and I was covered in hives. Oh my god. I was like, see, I told you my face was burning up. I was like breaking out in rash. I couldn't breathe. We ran next door. We were in New York City. We ran next door. There was a, you know, whatever pharmacy, Dwayne Reed or CVS or something. Grabbed some antihistamines, popped those puppies, and I was okay in about 20 minutes. But I was like, I was like, you guys, I don't feel right. Like something's wrong. I must have eaten something I shouldn't have. I don't know what it was, but I and they were all like, no, you're fine, nothing's wrong. But when we got outside, everyone was like, Oh my god. It's like, what, what?

SPEAKER_01

If the restaurant was dark and you they couldn't see your the you know the your face, they yeah, nobody can know. It was like, no, you look okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. It was like that low light sort of orangey. So they were like, no, you're fine. But outside, everybody was like, Oh my god, you're right. There's something very wrong. It's like, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_01

You shouldn't go back into the restaurant. We're suing you. My friend got poisoned by your food. Oh girl. No, don't do that, people.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, it was obviously just something that I didn't realize was an ingredient I shouldn't have had. You know what I mean? I had figured it would be safe because it was a like vegetarian, not many, you know, fried or battered anything. You know what I mean? So I was like, oh yeah, no, it's good. It's alright.

SPEAKER_01

Did you figure it out what it was?

SPEAKER_02

Do you remember what you the food there were a lot of things because it was uh sort of like they bring you a plate with multiple items in it. Oh so you can try a little bit of everything. It's just okay. I don't know. I don't know what it was, but man.

Turning A Coworker Into Army

SPEAKER_01

Could be one, could be the all of them, could be a combination of things, yeah, exactly. So I know, girl. No. Anyways, oh just just want to say to everybody, or actually, yes, I'll I'll just well why don't my I have should I say corrupt? No, I have enlightened her into the K-pop world. And uh with BTS first.

SPEAKER_02

With a coworker? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, and um she is all about BTS now. She just texted me and said, I'm gonna tell you Burbader, hold on. Okay, my co-worker said, Oh, because I went to TJ's, because this uh tomorrow I'm going to a workshop. I went to TJ's and they have this uh freezer bag that is purple. Oh, okay. I was like, oh, BTS. I mean, anything that I see kind of like this purple color, and I'm like BTS, okay? Purple is BTS. All right, it's this is the fan me, the army me. So um, so I texted her and I'm like, hey, TJ's has a purple BTS aesthetic bag. Because she loves her and I, we talk about TJ's all the time. And she goes, nice. And then uh then she proceeded, I had a dream last night that we went to a BTS pop-up and bought a bunch of merch. The obsession has infiltrated my subconscious. I started laughing, and I'm like, So what did you buy in your dream? And she goes, Everything. Yes, that's how it goes.

BTS Dreams And Quiz Fails

SPEAKER_02

That's exactly how it goes. Well, yeah, that's funny that she had a dream about BTS because I did too. It was only uh RM and J Hope. But we were we were actually shopping. Okay, and RM for some reason was like, I'm gonna go find us food. I was like, okay. Meanwhile, J Hope's like picking out a whole new wardrobe for me. He's like, no girl, this will look great. I was like, okay. He's like, it makes your eyes pop. I was like, thank you. I don't like it was so weird. And I don't think we originally started together. Like I was in the store and came across them. Okay. It was like, ah, I just need help finding new clothes. So RM stuck around for like five minutes and then was like, I'll go get us food. Because obviously he was like, This is gonna take forever now that Jay Hope's taking over taking over the be the fashionista that he is. But it was it was really why I woke up, I was like, what the heck? Because I had I think what spurred it was uh, you know, I've told everybody before, I love taking those little quizzes. If there's a quiz involved, I'm like, oh, I'm gonna do this. Right. Doesn't matter what it's uh it's like quizzes for everything. But there was one particular one that was like, take this quiz to see who you'll dream about tonight. And I was supposed to dream about gin and sugar.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, because that was your that was the quiz?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the quiz told me I was gonna dream about gin and sugar, and I was like, Oh, all right, awesome, you know. Nope, RM and J-Hoe. Oh my god. So I'm gonna tell that quiz they were wrong, but nah, it was just so funny though. Because it was sort of the same thing. Like she's talking about merch, which is usually you know clothing and stuff. And I had a dream as well with BTS.

SPEAKER_01

So oh no, well, now that you said that in your dream, the opposite of gin and sugar is J-Hobe and RM. Yeah. Right? Yeah, you have had another dream with RM before. Yeah, I have. Which is being recorded also on this podcast. Which I was like, OMG. Yeah, I had a dream with also RM, which I was just like, no, I think that it was RM was not happy with me for some reasons. And then I'm like, I tried to explain it, he just didn't want to hear it. He walked away from me. I'm like, no. Anyways, I think it was just my subconscious feeling feeling bad that I felt like I was cheating on the group. I don't know. With who? With irchi? Yes. This is my hype of IRC. This is like when I was doing deep dives on IRC, you know, like I was not not really, so it was, yeah. Because RM and my he he was he grabbed me by the shoulders and he's like, what about Army? What about what about BTS? What about me? I'm like, what? What are you and then he started walking away and I'm like, wait, I'm reaching out to him and going, wait, yeah, I think I I remember which I woke up like, oh my god, why do I feel like like I cheated on my boy?

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's how I felt about Arishi when I started listening to BTS. I was like, I'm not cheating, it's just you're on hiatus. I need something to fill the gap. You know, and actually we'd already been you had introduced me to BTS earlier, but I was like, nope, Arishi are my boys, you know what I mean? And it's like for a little bit of time there, we swapped because you were like, I need to know more about this group. Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

Because RShi's like non-existent in like on the internet, you know. I had to learn from you. You were my internet. I'm like, so what's this? And who's dang? What happened? Isn't that uh yeah?

SPEAKER_02

I was like, come over, we'll watch this concert. Come over, we'll watch this concert. And then they started doing all the free stuff. So oh my god, when they were on it, oh my god, yes. You were able to really dive into it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and that's when RM pops out the leader of ETS. What about us? I'm like, that's what it got me when he's like, what about us? I was like, what? What are you I didn't know it was an us? What? You're telling me now. It felt like a Korean drama. Oh my god. Oh my god. I haven't seen, you know, Menudo was my first boy group. And I don't see Manudo popping up on me and be like, what about us?

John Taylor And White Hair

SPEAKER_02

I know, yeah. Durand Duran doesn't come to me and say because they know also deep down, if they do something, I'll be there for them. Right. Speaking of which, John Taylor. Yeah. He he'd obviously been dying his hair because it was too dark for his complexion. He's let it go, and I think maybe he's bleached it. Right. But it's white. Like it's not blondish, it's like pure white. He looks incredible.

SPEAKER_01

The man was always good. I mean, his looks is just oh. Even with that sun kiss, well, I don't want to say burn, but sun kiss, you know, face that he has.

SPEAKER_02

Well, plus his he had some rough living for a while there. He's talked about it openly.

SPEAKER_01

So the whole band. You know, that's what happened. So you know.

SPEAKER_02

So age in in rough living definitely took its toll, but with the white hair, it's very, it sort of softens his look. Okay. And he's just very very handsome right now. And I'm like, oh, I still love you. That's his that's his way of bringing me back. Yeah.

An Album You Can't Stop Playing

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Come back to the mature men. Oh man. We know what we we know we can do. We know what I'm doing. Anyways. So I'm corrupting my friend's brain. And now BTS have infiltrated her subculture, uh, subconscious. That's funny. It's awesome though. She's embracing it, and that's awesome. Yeah, so so she was um how did that come about? Oh, we were just talking plainly talking about music, and just just like at lunch, I'm stuck, why are you like listening right now? And I'm like, listen, BTS has been the one that is just every day. It's just every day, and this new album has just half me every day. I have tried to listen to other stuff, and I still come back to BTS. Um, that's why Sarah and I have not done deep dives on any music because we are so devoted and just passionate about it.

SPEAKER_02

Let's call it what it is. Obsessed. I am that album, I'm obsessed with it. And every new date they play, yeah, I add the bonus songs that they're doing at the end. Or not the end, but like towards the end, they throw in two bonus mystery songs. And I've so I've got the the playlist of the concert, plus I've been adding all the bonus songs to the end. And other than one, well, two songs, it's the whole album. So I've just been listening to it, and I'm just like, oh my god. And every day my favorite song changes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I'm like, oh because your mood changes, something happens, and your mood changes to that song.

SPEAKER_02

Girl, I know. And that that whole album is a multitude of moods. It really is. You're just like, oh yeah, I f I feel you here. I feel you. And then the next day you're like, Well, I really like this, but now this is the one I feel.

SPEAKER_01

So it's been, yeah, it's been distracting. So, you know, I some of you that do like our dedicated song episodes, um, that's gonna take a while. It's it's gonna take a while because I don't want to just make just an episode just to make an episode and just just give you like, oh yeah, the the other pop and electric, whatever. No, I don't wanna give you that because it's like what's going on? Because you can hear it through my voice. That it's just like, why did they do a music episode on these songs and just talk like that?

SPEAKER_02

At least on my part. As opposed to uh a poker face, you have a poker voice. Yeah, the yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So um, yes, it's I'm all about it. Yes, yo. I am. It's this album is really good. This album is really good, it's too good. I haven't had that feeling for an album that I cannot stop listening to in if if not decade, years. Because all I can't remember was there were f two albums, one in the 80s was Louder Than Balms by the The Smith. And then uh close to the 90s, no, in the 90s, the Pixies, their last album, the French one. Oh, it has a French title now. Uh La Trope. Anyways, it was like their last album before they they said, Ah, we're taking a break, you know. Trying to remember. Oh, I got Spotify open. I should have just looked for it here. So that was the other one that um I was like, I can't stop listening, I can't stop listening. That's the one with the UMass song. Oh, okay, yeah. Ah God, I love that song. And then guess what? I end up moving to Massachusetts near UMass. Like, whatever. Oh, Thro The Mom. That's the album that I was just couldn't get it off. It was so those are where just and then now this one. It's been years. It's like I haven't had an album that I have been just like I can't stop listening. I just can't. And it's BTS Ari Dung. Um, if you want to think that this is also this has been all that say that this is kind of a music episode because everybody can has been listening to that, and we're talking about music. Um, so I guess yes, this is a music-dedicated episode on what we love so much. Have do you have that you have the same feeling like what you on other albums like you have for BTS on Arirang?

Roots Talk And Comment Fatigue

SPEAKER_02

Um, well, like you, not in a long time. I would say um actually Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre was the last like whole album that I just was obsessed with. And it's the same thing with Ariran. I'm like, there isn't a single song on it that I'm like, eh, you know. Right. Like, even groups that I love, love, love, love, love. Sometimes on the album there's just one song you're like, uh, this isn't really my vibe. Right. And it's only one song, but that means the whole album is not hitting you. This whole album hits, like, really hits.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it's so funny because you know, you we we always talk about, you know, I try not to read the comments because people annoy me, but like you see all these comments, you know.

SPEAKER_01

That's a thing that we are aiming right now. It's like, don't look at the comment section because it's just like it's gonna make you like it's it's it'll make you crazy. It's your opinion, fine. I'm gonna leave it like that. And I don't want to listen to your opinion, so I'm not gonna go through the comment section. Okay, yeah. Besides, it's my show because I they you know, I host that and I listen to people there.

SPEAKER_02

Anyways, go ahead. But yeah, so like when you know, everyone's like, well, the whole beginning of the album's like, you know, so much better because it's back to their roots. And I'm like, well, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

I I get what you're saying, but it's different. It's not it's not the same as their old songs. The genre is, the style is. But what they're putting into it, the emotions they have now as older men and after their experience, you know, being in the military, being apart for a long time, this coming back together, all of these things. Are just so they're more mature, more thoughtful. So again, this the the genre's the same, the style's you know, hearkening back to their roots, and that's what they talked about, going back to their roots and their culture and all of that. But I was like, it's really it's not the same, and you can't look at it as such. Do you know what I mean? Because that's detracting from what they're actually doing now. Like when you really listen to these songs and think about what they're saying, it's these are mature men who are putting their emotions out there raw to you, as opposed to, you know, it's not teenager like angst. This is grown men being thoughtful. You know what I mean? So I'm like, you know, it's fine if you want to see it that way, that this is like their old sound and you're happy with it, okay, that's good for you, but don't discount the second half of the album that you feel is more westernized or whatever. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Why do they think is more westernized? Because there's more English, there's more English.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and there's less less rap and hip-hop going on in it. So they so you know, they feel like, and I'm like, again, you gotta remember one thing, people. RM did help write butter, which is everyone, you know, the whole dynamite through permission of dance people are like, if that's when you started listening, you're not true to army. Like, no. And whether or not he makes a face when he's like, Oh, we're gonna play the stuff you know now. Like, that's just as an artist, you know, David Bowie would do that. He'd be like, I don't know why you like this, but okay, you know, I'm an artist and I created it, and I guess you know, I'll take ownership of it. But so yeah, that's what that's what I mean though, is I'm like, how is I think it transitions very well from that old sound, if you want to call it that, to to the newer stuff. And we we were talking about it a couple like a couple of weeks after it came out, and I was saying how like Into the Sun, I was like, this could have been on any one of their solo albums. Now I know V primarily wrote it, Jim and Jung Cook had writing credits, RM, I think Sugar also had some writing credits. But I was like, if you listen to that song, like there are certain points where it fits into what every single one of them did solo wise. It's sort of crazy. You have to you have to just stop and listen to how each of them are singing their parts, and it's like you're like, wow. So this could have totally been on V's solo album, could have been on JK's, could have even been on RM's. It's just all about the way they're singing their particular part. It's like crazy. And and that's sort of how the whole album is. It's sort of like each one doing individual with everybody helping out. So it just fits in everywhere, and that's why it's so awesome because it's completely them. And that's yeah, can you tell? I'm obsessed with yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I'm saying. That for us right now to try and dedicate ourselves to uh do a deep dive on somebody is not gonna, it's not gonna hit like it's hitting us right now with Adam.

TOP's Solo Work And Redemption

SPEAKER_02

Right, right. Although I do have to say, when we were on our last episode, we were talking about various things going on and like Big Bang getting back together, and we were like, TOP, why is he not his new stuff? Is really good.

SPEAKER_01

Like album TOT album, he took his time to really make this and deliver what his emotions. This is all his emotions. This is all like I'm in your face. I'm telling you this, and you thought I was doing that, and you thought this is his rise from the ashes because oh my god, that this man got so much trash, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Thrown and but he's also got loads of baggage that he's been lugging around because of what all the things that come.

SPEAKER_01

Like you just said, I'm gonna take that as of he took all your trash, he's picking up all that trash that you have left around him and throwing it back at you. And on that album, oh wow, mm-hmm. So that I have always I'm like GD, everybody's like, and I'm like, I have a soft spot for GD. He is the tech lady leader for you know, uh Big Bang. And I'm like, yes, but right when I see TOP and the way that he delivers and the way that he just like is himself, I'm like, uh he's my bias, always always my bias.

SPEAKER_02

He's unapologetic about what you know. I mean, not complete, like he's not disregarding how people have viewed him or perceived him, but he's like, look, this is who I am, and so so I've snuck in some of his stuff in between just because I was like, you know, he really is yeah, he really is good and talented, and people take certain things that happen in people's lives and turn it into who that person is. And that's unfortunate, and that's that's a lot of what he's saying, is like, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, the name of his album, Top Spot, Another Dimension. Yep. He's always have been in another dimension. And in and like I said, so a lot of people always throw trash at him, like, oh yeah, this and that, and meaning me, and but and I'm like, that's who he is. Even in the in the in part of this, one of his lyrics, he said, I just want to make music. Yeah, I just want to make music. But it's like you you see my music, you see my art like uh some kind of insult, you know?

SPEAKER_02

It's well, because like I said, people turned an incident in his life into who he was, and that's not really how it works, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there's each country have their laws on things, and unfortunately, which I just think that he was, I don't know, targeted. Could be. I don't know. Of course, Big Bang was like the biggest at the time.

SPEAKER_02

Well, GD got targeted for a while too.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, GD too. Yeah, well, I would say everybody in that group was targeted. They were the two though that had the like major headlines about Big Bang is like the biggest K-pop, you know, before BTS. It was Big Bang. You know, you had other groups like you know, EXO and whatever, uh, and also Super Junior, but not to like Big Bang.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like it was like, I know, I like those other groups too, but Big Bang, come on. I remember like, when are they gonna come over here? And they only did like Asian tours. I'm like, that's not a world tour.

SPEAKER_02

I like when they're like, oh, yeah, it's a world tour as long as they leave their own country, yeah. Because that that's how our she was too. They're like, world tour.

SPEAKER_01

And I was like, these are all this is Taipei, Hong Kong, no, no, Hong Kong, Taipei, Taiwan, you know, Taiwan, whatever, nothing, Indonesia. No, where are you? And in like the states, uh, or Europe.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it's like when we talk about though, they're like, we're doing a US tour and it's eight cities. You're like, yeah. Wow. Yeah. So I snuck him in a couple of times to listen. Yeah, no, because it was really like riveting. The music's really it's riveting.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

On a different level from how the BTS album is not for his album make you think.

SPEAKER_01

Let's see. I mean, yeah, there's some bops in Marder Reb, but just but not like it's gonna come, and like, yeah. No, his his album is like his soul, his mind, his TOP. It's TOP. And I'm like, Yes, that man, geez. I still love him. It it did. I I was kind of hurt when he said, Well, I'm leaving Big Bang, but I was like, that kind of hurt, boo, but I completely understand why you're gonna leave. He's like, I gotta do music, I gotta do my music. And that's why he he on this album. Wow. I'm looking at him right now and I'm like, I love you. Don't get jealous, but come on, TLP came first. TLP. I don't know, TLP or Super Junior? Hmm. Okay, never mind. I think I was in both at the one uh 2012.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I was gonna because when we went to New York, we went to one of those stores down uh Koreatown, and you were like, ah, I remember you being like Super Junior.

Amber Returns And K-Pop Origins

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Because it's like, what? Because it was like the start of things, and I'm like, what? What they have this here, of course. It's New York, they gotta have everything. Yes, but yeah, I was so happy about that. And of course, my first love of girl group is is you know 21. Oh, my girls, my girls, 21. And also then it came FX. My god, their vocals that girl group vocals, amazing. Oh, okay. Speaking of 21 and FX, well, actually FX, Amber made out came out with saying, Hey, you guys miss me, and I'm like, Yes. And then she's like, I think um, I'm gonna start writing music. And I'm like, Yes, cool, it's been a while. Now you understand you do need to take a break. She was doing all the things just to like, you know, but yo, this teaser this t-shirt that she came out with, I was like, Oh new Amber. And she's she's probably being finding herself, yeah, searching for her, you know, what she really wants and be.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because all of her social media stuff was always sort of just like a day in the life of Amber, you know what I mean? So I missed the the music teaser thing, so yeah, I don't know how. But like I said, I was seeing all the day in the life stuff.

Mamamoo Tour Dates And VIP Mystery

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I guess I was so happy that I was able to see her. I didn't did a VIP to see her. Oh my god, it was so much fun. She is so cool. Love her. Yeah, she was yeah, she was my bias of FX. Actually, I did I like her so much that I went to my hairdresser and I'm like, I want this haircut. That's when I started with the whole like short hair, and then she got a bus cut, and I'm like, I want that haircut. And then my mohawk started, and it was because of her. Yes, my girl crushes Amber. I love her. Uh anyways. Um, yeah. So what else would you like to talk about, Miss Tierra? Oh, I don't know. Besides, you know, BTS. Yeah, TOP. Oh, oh, oh yeah. I wanted to Okay, let me find it. Because family was like, oh my god! I'm like, what happened? So the outwaited comeback, Mama Moo. Oh, they're doing a comeback in June. All right, and they already announced tour dates for the US. Really? Ooh, yes, awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I do remember hearing rumors about that, but nothing solid.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm really happy, but not oh why? I'm happy that the girls are coming back, and I can't wait for this comeback, you know, album. Uh the tour dates are in August.

SPEAKER_02

Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

People, you uh people. People. No, it's no. They're not the closest is New York. It's in Belmont Park.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Did we go to Belmont Park?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we did.

SPEAKER_01

Is that the one for sugar?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the U UBS Arena.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, August 12th. Exactly. Uh yeah. The next one will be Chicago, uh, Fort Worth, Texas, Cedar Park in Texas, Los Angeles, yay, San Jose, and Kent, Washington. Wow. Does it? What is that? That's the US tour. Wow. Not even eight. Yep. Wow. Yep. Two in California and two in Texas.

SPEAKER_02

And then one in New York and one in Washington. So yeah. Six. Mm-hmm. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. August 12th.

SPEAKER_02

What is that like a Tuesday or yeah, that's like in the middle of the week, right? I think so, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That it's so like in the in the minx of BTS touring.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. It's a Wednesday.

SPEAKER_01

Oh geez. See that when I say in the middle of the week? Yep.

SPEAKER_02

I thought it was Tuesday. I did my my math wrong.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's just tough. It's a week after we see BTS.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I know. That's a bummer. Yeah, it is. Why not, you know, September or something?

SPEAKER_01

Can you cancel this tour like Idol did? So they can concentrate on the comeback? Because I mean, according to this, the comeback is in June, and then right away they're going on tour like in a couple of months.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's like Idle. I think their comeback is actually July. Right? Yeah, they were gonna yeah, July. They were gonna start touring right away and they decided to focus on the album. Getting stuff together, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Oh man. Yeah. That's um, you know, what's up, what's up? We didn't, you know, you didn't like Boston. You like Boston. You were calling it Hogwarts. I know. You like how you were like, I mean, have it. I'm like, were you faking it? I hope not. We love you. I mean, come on. Oh.

SPEAKER_02

I know they could totally do MGM again.

SPEAKER_01

Right? But I guess it went on a bigger venue. I mean, yeah, but there's bigger venues. Yeah, we got the garden.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they could do the garden.

SPEAKER_01

You know, Tys twice was at the garden and that was and that was packed. That show that we went on Friday, that was a sold-out show. Yes, it was. So, like, come on. Um so yeah, this um I'm not so well yeah, I'm not gonna be seeing Mama Moo. I know I do want to see Mama Moo, but I mean so May 5th, what? When are they gonna go on general sale? General sale for their tickets will be on May 15th if you want to go to New York. Um the pre-sale is gonna be on Wednesday, May 13th. Hmm. I wanted this a VIP package. I'm gonna see that. Ticket sale. But what is in the VIP? Oh, I like that they have a countdown. 10 days and 22 hours and six minutes.

SPEAKER_02

VIP probably has like the sound check, you know, the early entry, all that stuff. Maybe uh a freebie.

SPEAKER_01

Not a freebie, but like some merch and whatever.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um it's a maybe a hello and a goodbye, you know, the pre-show, post-show stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Why put that there's a VIP, but do not give me what's in the VIP? I mean, don't people want to know me unless you have to be in I don't know. I can't find it. But anyways, now we know. My mama's coming to the US, but no. Not feasible. No, definitely not. But I'm glad that the girls are back. Mm-hmm. The women, because now they're all in their 30s as well.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I was gonna say, if it were at least like a date in Boston, it could have been mildly feasible. Yeah. But New York is especially Belmont. I know, especially Belmont's because it's that extra step out onto Long Island.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. That's Long Island. It's not in within, you know, Manhattan, which a little bit easier for us to get to. Oh man. Right? Yeah. How was that drive over there? I don't remember it. It wasn't too bad.

SPEAKER_02

No, because we I don't well, we were down early.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, it was pretty smooth sailing in because it's harder going straight into the city because there's more traffic going there. We definitely we hit some spots that were tough, but it's a a different route. You go over the bridge and whatever, and it's like, yeah. Right. So I vaguely remember the drive.

Smoke Machines And Migraine Memories

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Yeah, I know I was like, I was with you. So I'm like, I know trying to remember. I do remember way back when you were feeling ill. And I'm like, Do you want me to drive? And you're like, No, I'll be okay. Just just need some time. I'm like, okay, take as long time as you want.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, that was like one of the worst migraines I've ever had.

SPEAKER_01

How did yeah? Like what happened? You thought maybe the um the smoke, the um smoke machine, yeah, might have gotten you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that it had something to do with that because smoke machine stuff makes me like it just stuffs up my head.

SPEAKER_01

The chemicals they use for the smoke. Because it's no longer dry ice. Remember smoke machine used to be made of just dry ice?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Now who knows what it is.

SPEAKER_01

Now it's just spraying exactly chemicals. Because it's it's not water anything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's not vapor anymore. It's like smoke smoke stuff, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I remember those back in the 80s when people when they started making the smoke machines really cheaply, and it was this like oil kind of cartridge that smelled like vanilla, and you were like, ooh, yeah, it's I remember that. Nasty. That was just the stuff that we went through for shells. From the second hand smoke, smoke machines. Oh god, never go see Mer Sisters of Mercy unless you don't care about your lungs. They still do that.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_01

This is just all smoke. You can't even see the group. And I'm like, why even? Wow. Why even go see your live dude? Why? It's it's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, oh no. Yeah, it's I went to see them the uh the uh palladium in in Worcester, and it was so bad that the venue opened all the exits to air out the venue because it was too much. And then as soon as they started to dissipate, they cranked the machine again. I'm like, are you freaking kidding me? And this is like the era that face masks, nobody wore face masks, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. Uh so, anyways, actually that happened at um at the uh paradise once they had to open all the doors. I think it was when I went to see Jesus and Mary Chain.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, all the group, yeah, that just loved their smoke machines. Like, why? Why didn't he and they opened the doors? It's crazy. I remember one of the bouncers was like, I'm getting an asthma attack, and he was outside like I was like, oh my god, dude, go home. I was like, I can't, I can't.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, wow, find an inhaler quick. Jeez.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, that's hazardous, very hazardous. Oh my god. So yeah. Oh, my. Oh. Well, if I had money, I'll go see you in Korea or Singapore or Macau.

SPEAKER_02

That would be cool. Well, we are we have a plan in place for a destination event.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. That's um in let's see, uh, what year and a half? Mm-hmm. Possibly. Yes. We'll see. Yep.

SPEAKER_02

Gotta yeah, we gotta see how it's gonna play out as far as yeah, ticket sales and all of that, too, because if they're not made available globally.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if it's they only gonna launch this only in Korea, and we're just like, okay, uh, why make a major announcement if you're not gonna have any international people go in there?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm sure they will. We just like I said, we gotta see sort of how it works, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Because they wanna take it globally, that was one of their ideas, or one of his ideas because we're all the visionary Mr. Pack. Just you know, thinking of that. Oh my god. So yeah.

Favorite Tracks And Farewell

SPEAKER_02

So, my friend, yeah, I think we're good, we're good, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right, so we did talk about music, yes, but this is an open conversation, so we would like to hear from you. You know, uh you also obsessed with Ariran. Please let us know. Have if even within Arirang, is there a song that you just like nonstop listening? Like me, there was a whole week I could not stop listening to Mary Go Round. I knew you were gonna say that. And it's still oh, so I interacted with Spotify. Once in a while, I interact with Spotify. On next Twitter because they like they reach out to me because I'm like, hey, which venue is in your area? And I'm like, blah blah blah blah blah. So one of the questions was like, which song, which something about you obsessed with what it I'm not saying it no um verbat verbatim, but what which one? And I was like, BTS Merry Go Round. And anything that had to do with music, BTS Merry Go Round. So we'll see. Yeah, mine was fire.

SPEAKER_02

Mine was fire. The minute I heard it, I was like, oh yeah, this is my song.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I have to say that it um from uh body to body, hooligan, fire, and 2.0 were my songs. Like it was I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm all about that, blah blah blah. And then one morning I was like, I'm just gonna play 29. Just p keep it on receipt, repeat, running 29, just one morning, just because I just wanted that zen like feeling. You know, it's like a minute and a half, you know? It's like the the hype with the slow and then the silence and whatever is in there in between. I was like, you know, that's pretty cool. This is pretty cool. I like that, anyways. So thank you everybody for listening. Please give us a rate, give us five stars, please. This is the only thing that we're asking for. You know, I mean, just subscribe so you can listen to you know when the episodes come up. So all right. We'll take care of maintaining the podcast. Yes. So until next time. Yes. Bye bye.
