A tiny concert moment turned into a full-blown fandom mystery: when Jun Matsumoto grabbed a drone mid-song during the ARASHI show, it instantly reminded us of Jungkook doing the same thing on the BTS tour. So we do what we do best and start digging. Who grabbed the concert drone first, was it happening across multiple shows, and is it pure coincidence that both groups were touring in Japan around the same time?

From there, we zoom out into bigger questions that every J-pop and K-pop fan ends up asking sooner or later: how long can groups really last, what the “seven-year itch” looks like in the industry, and why Arashi’s long history gives us hope for BTS’s future. We also celebrate BTS’s AMAs wins, talk about what major U.S. recognition can mean, and bring back the goal that still cracks us up because it’s also dead serious: SUGA wants a Grammy.

We don’t skip the messy side of pop culture, either. We react to legal action tied to defamation and misleading headlines, and we vent about the Ticketmaster class action email many fans just received. Then we get back to the good stuff: Arashi’s upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release, STARTO talent updates like Takahisa Masuda’s Yellow fashion brand, Snow Man finally putting a huge catalog on streaming, and Takuya Kimura’s album and tour news.

We close with a very real weekend recap: braving cold sideways rain for the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck pop-up in Boston, then finding out a meteor caused a sonic boom nearby hours later. If you like fan talk with receipts, laughs, and a little outrage, hit play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review so more fans can find us.

Welcome And Recording Ahead

SPEAKER_03

Thank you for joining us here at Music Elixir. I'm Sarah She and with me in Miss DJ Panic. How are we doing today?

SPEAKER_02

Today it's at Ransom Rambling. And we're recording again on May 31st. We're doubling on stuff because uh we have things happening in June and we're not able to see each other. So we're just like making some episodes for the month. Anyways. Yeah. It's uh yeah, I'm I'm I'm okay. Um this episode is gonna be after the one of uh we are Arashi's final our commentary on that. Okay, okay, enough. Please listen to that if you have not,

Who Grabbed The Drone First

SPEAKER_02

and uh you know if you did, oh my goodness. Uh I'm sure we all cried together. Oh my goodness, yes, yes, yes, yes.

SPEAKER_03

But anyway, but we can well let's let's mention now what we did we didn't want to mention during that particular episode because we wanted it to be just all about arashi. Yes, but we both noticed something during the Arashi concert while they were up in their little balloons singing away, is that our boy Matsumoto Jun reached out and grabbed a drone and was singing to it and holding on to it for a minute, and it reminded us of something else we'd seen from our other boys, BTS, uh Junk Hook in particular, during one of their concerts, reach well, he's been doing it in all of them now, yeah, because it was such a big hit, reaches out and grabs a drone and sings to it and sort of wake over. And we were like, interesting, because they're both the baby of the group, they're both the color purple, yep, and they're both touring at the same time. Yep. So we were like, who did it first? Right? Because we don't know. Has June been doing it for all the shows? Because we haven't seen any other shows.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

We know John Cook has been doing it, right? But like their tour started after Rashi's tour started. So this is the the burning question for us now. Who did it first?

SPEAKER_02

Who did it first? We want to know which baby did first. Who was the idea of like, oh, grab this drawer and be like, yeah, like letting up whoa.

SPEAKER_03

But we were we were both very excited because we were like, did you see what June did? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Grabbing that draw. What did it remind you of? Oh, yeah, yeah. Cookie doing the same too.

SPEAKER_02

So if anybody knows, please let us know. Was you know, June doing it on their tour, or was it just on a fluke on this time?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's crazy, right? I know. I was like, it was just so random to see it like random coincidence.

SPEAKER_02

What? And BTS was in Japan. They did that Tokyo as well. They did tonight. So they did. Hmm. And we know that Jin and um Iba have hang, you know, the boys know. Yeah, they know them too. So who knows? Was Matsu June there like hanging too? Who watched whose show and got the idea?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. What a quinky dink. It's just too too much. Too much. Big boy, you know, those two groups are huge. You know, our sh is, you know, for 20 plus years, and then now we have BTS for 17 years. No. Uh no. 13 years. 13. 13? Yes. I'm saying it. Why am I saying 17? I was gonna say 17.

SPEAKER_03

They'd have all been a little young.

SPEAKER_02

Why am I thinking the number 17? You know, girl, sometimes it pumps.

Idol Longevity And The Seven-Year Itch

SPEAKER_02

Am I predicting something in 17 years for BTS? Oh my god, I hope not. I hope it's not what I think it is. Okay. Enough of that.

SPEAKER_03

Well, no, but you know, the good thing, right? Yeah. The fact that Rashi are all in their 40s is at least a good sign because BTS are only in their 30s. Yes. So we can hope for at least another 10 years out of them, too. At least. Well, you can't know Jin's always talk about being an old man, and I'm like, you've been hanging out with an old man who's been doing this for you know, I mean, RSH as a group was 26 and a half years. Yeah. They were all at it before that when they joined the company to start, you know, before they even debuted. So they've been like in the idle life for a very long time. So BTS can they can keep going.

SPEAKER_02

I know. That's the thing. Like on the BTS uh documentary when they were like in the LA, you know, you can find on Netflix, and RM was saying uh that they have been very lucky to be together this long. Because seven years seems to be like the it year of like, are we going? Are geese surviving, or is this is over, you know? Well, especially in the K-bop industry. Huh.

SPEAKER_03

Well, the seven-year itch is a thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's like with everything. Once you hit the seventh year, it's either the make or break it point. So if you can get by beyond the seven, usually things are pretty good. Usually.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

So we'll see.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. BTS can be like, you know, I know the RG's has been together for over 20 years. Possibilities.

BTS AMAs Sweep And Grammy Goals

SPEAKER_03

Yes, indeed.

SPEAKER_02

So we'll see. Speaking of BTS, as many of you know, the boys have won three awards. Yes. Yes on the um AMAs. AMAs. Um, I'm reading from Sun P or actually reminding me what happened that day from Soom P. So on this year, BTS win, of course, the three awards. And of course, the Group of the Year. What is it? Okay. So yeah, they won the award of artists of the year. That's when everybody was just like, Wow! So this is just the beginning. I know they won a Grammy. Well, I know Sugar wants a Grammy. Yes. We've got Sugar wants a Grammy. Sugar wants a Grammy. So, you know, the boys, you know, the new album, new awards are coming. So we're hoping for more awards for them. The big one is the Grammy. So we'll see. Yeah. Because you know, like I said, uh Sugar wants a Grammy. I mean they all do, but I think Sugar's been the one that half vocally said that I want a Grammy.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, no, we we had a whole big joke about that a few years back. We are Sugar wants his Grammy.

SPEAKER_02

Sugar wants his Grammy.

Legal News, Media Trust, And Ratings

SPEAKER_02

Oh man. Not much for the K-pop industry except for like, of course, people going uh uh court for things, some more malicious and suspicious, you know. Legal process proceedings against individuals targeting artists as for JYP. Still more legal actions towards that. I'm glad about that, that there's uh more to that. Oh, uh, watchamakallet, Kim Su-hyoung. Remember that that they dropped the charges on that. He's now he's not guilty. Oh you remember they're saying that he would shoot he was dating an underage, da-da-da, and apparently was not. So now he's so okay.

SPEAKER_03

Hold on. I think I saw something. Ah well, I was gonna say, other than that, we've got some comebacks. Hearts to hearts and Stacey staging some comebacks. Actually, Tae Yang has been dominating with his solo endeavor recently. Oh yeah. He's been he's been popping out the videos and doing songs. Quintessence. He is yeah. I I was seeing it, I'm like, after the big announcement of Big Bang, you know, I mean, I'm like, and all of a sudden he's like, wait, let me get this solo stuff out of the way. But uh he's been all over the place, so he has a family to feed. That's right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's right. Does he have more no, I know one child. Yes, I know that they have one child, but uh yeah, I remember when he got married, it's like, no, and then he became a father. It's like, oh yeah, congratulations.

SPEAKER_03

Well, you know he that's like the biggest crime you can commit as an idol.

SPEAKER_02

I know.

SPEAKER_03

So sorry, I was just using that to fill in while you found what you're doing.

SPEAKER_02

You know, that's fine because I think everybody knows about this. He's actually suing back the people who were, you know, defamation, you know, okay after the whole thing. I wasn't sure if you were trying to read a whole yeah, no, no, I think everybody knows about that one. That was a big shit show. And now they say it's like, no, he is was actually not guilty. I was like, wow, okay. So now everybody's like pedal, you know, they're suing the person who uh it was an anchor, they're suing that person, and uh of um apparently they were fabricating all this, so he's suing that it was an anchor, it was a TV uh TV anchor.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, ooh, well that's um in the past few years there's been a lot of criticism against some of the K media.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. One was of sugar.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I was gonna say for what happened with sugar, like showing things that weren't even him. Yeah, like yeah. So that's it's good to hear that they're taking action, especially if it's proven that the news person was just making stuff up, lying. You know, creating hype. It's just some people got nothing better to do.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's like, oh, we need ratings, what can we do? It's like, really? Really? Yeah. If you want ratings, say bring more positive news, you know, and uh I don't know. Uh think of something else and just fabricating and damaging people's reputations.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, exactly. In general, around the world. We need more good news. Yes. Oh my god, we do. We just we need people to focus on like good things.

Ticketmaster Class Action Fallout

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we do. Just for a little while, give us all a break. Uh you know, good good news have been happening. Let's see a few weeks ago when we're talking about Ticketmaster, you know, getting karma back. Yeah, karma's like, yeah. So we're waiting. Oh, speaking of Ticketmaster, have you received an email on this class actual lawsuit for okay? So you have family received one too, and I receive one too. So everybody who have bought tickets through Ticketmaster, they receive this class actual lawsuit, and you maybe get some monies.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Like I said, by the time it's all said and done, we'll probably get like two dollars and ten cents.

SPEAKER_02

We should have more than that, girl.

SPEAKER_03

I know. Years of hidden fees and price hikes and everything else. So we'll like thousands of dollars, please. Thousands? Well, I like how their little thing is like five grand. They want five grand back. Well, when they're like though, if you want to do your own lawsuit, I'm like, Oh no, why would I spend money hiring a lawyer? No, I'll just I'll keep my name in the pool for the class action suit and see what happens.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Exactly. I I I prefer that too. I don't want to.

Arashi Blu-ray And Fan Club Advice

SPEAKER_02

But I know we were talking about Arashi, and on our last episode, we were just hoping for a DVD or Blu-ray. And um actually this was, I guess, announced 16 days ago. Well, I remember seeing something, but I thought it was for a different right? I I wasn't sure if it was for the for the final tour, for the final day. So um I'm reading this from Tokyo Hive uh saying that Arashi's live Blu-ray DVD, Arashi Live Tour 2026, We Are Arashi, will be released on November 3rd, the group's debut anniversary.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And uh uh as a family club store online exclusive. That's when we're like, uh So, like, don't don't don't cut off your your Arashi fan club yet. Because I think there's more for more stuff for you guys if you you know you're still in the fan club. So the release will be featuring feature footage from the final show of the group's current tour, well, past current tour. And also the tour marks the end of Arashi's activities as a group. Okay. The Blu-ray will be available for purchase in two different versions: a fan club exclusive edition and a regular edition. The fan club exclusive edit edition will include behind the scenes footage, which we will love to see that. I know, right? And uh following uh they'll be following the members from the from the announcement to their return activities last May through the final tour. It will also feature Arashi Movie and Commentary, which include five birthday versions originally released for fan club members, along with commentary from each member. Now, will that also be for the other edition or that's only for fan club?

SPEAKER_03

I'm not sure. I think that it that's only for the fan club version is gonna be the behind-the-scenes stuff.

SPEAKER_02

But I'm hoping that the edition will have the the birthday things, which already fan club has seen it, but we haven't.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, they I mean they included that in the the final uh tour, you know, the in-between stuff, they were showing clips of all of that. So maybe because of the way they're basically they filmed the the final show live stream to be the DVD. So maybe that'll be included in it anyways. I don't know. I'm not sure. But if you listened to our last episode, you heard us talk about how we want June to create like a documentary to put out do another one for Netflix and have it be all this behind the scenes stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Come on, feed your fans. You are a global sensation, even though you've maybe not feel it, you know? Yep. I think that remember there was that episode, it was June with Taca. Oh, yeah, yeah. And June was just saying to Taca how how they you know how proud he was that he made it, and and I'm like, what are you talking about, June? What are you talking about? It's I don't I don't get it. So I'm like, hello, then you you you do have an international fandom. Come on. Just just give it all. Give it all. You were you we're all you know prepare for this. Come on. We don't want to wait. We just want it now.

SPEAKER_03

We've been we've been buying all this stuff this whole time anyway. Yeah, well exactly. We'll eat it up. Don't worry.

SPEAKER_02

Sarah's been getting bootlegs from people because she can't get it over here at all.

SPEAKER_03

Some stuff. Once they started releasing theirs officially, we we got real stuff. But yeah, for a long time we were relying on people who recorded it and sent it over. So we had some really bad dubbed stuff. What happened? In their rush to get it out, the whoever was translating just started throwing in whatever some some of the stuff we saw. We were like, what the

Starto Talent Spotlights And Fashion

SPEAKER_03

toads were running, what?

SPEAKER_02

That's funny.

SPEAKER_03

But we were just glad to be able to see it.

SPEAKER_02

So that's still speaking of starto talents. Ah, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Uh just if you're going where I think you're going.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

This is on one of the members from News. Okay, nope. This wasn't the one I was thinking of. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So Takaha Takahisa Masura. Lunches fashion brand called Yellow.

SPEAKER_03

So why I didn't know this one, but I know there's another exciting one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

That you're Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I think I saw that, but maybe I'll let you s talk about that one.

SPEAKER_03

No, I no, you were the one telling me about it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. Did you saw another one? No. Okay. So, anyways, Masura has lunch a first fashion brand, uh, Yellow. And um, a lunch event for the brand was held in Tokyo on May 29th, not too long ago. The same day the items went on sale. Ooh, the brand was uh created as part of the Takahisa Masura Zozo Town, a project by Zozo and Lai Nyaho. Uh, known for his strong interest in fashion and for designing costumes for news tours. Yay! Yeah. Oh, you didn't know that? No. I didn't know he was doing the fashion thing for them. Yeah, that's cool. So Masuda said he poured his experience, creativity, and love of fashion into the collection. The lineup features 16 items reflecting Masuda's personal style, including oversized MA1 hoodie rumpers. That's funny, Massachusetts. Anyway, sweat setups and t-shirts with customized detachable pockets. What? Ooh. The brand name Yellow was inspired by Masura's favorite colour as well as his member collar and news. I was gonna say, is it actually yellow or is it kiroi? It says yellow. Ah, so interesting. I know. During the event, Masura joked that he planned to send every item in the collection to fellow news members. Keiichiro Koyama and Shigeaki Kato. Let's see, there's a clause here saying they'll definitely look good in them. And I think they'll only wear yellow from now on. Oh, okay. He said and hinted that news could potentially wear the brand during a future concert. Oh, that would be cool. Yes. He's like, he's like, listen, dude, you guys are gonna be my model, and you're gonna wear this.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Noah, because I remember watching something like a little behind the scene thing with news. Okay. And it showed him he was the one, he's like, Well, this is my idea, and this is the materials I want. So I was like, Oh, that's cool. It's he makes this costume, sort of like June. Okay, does a lot of that like he comes up with the ideas and and then he'll be like, No, I don't like that material. So same thing. That's what that's what he does. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I I love his voice. It was wild. I was like, he's he's my he's the power boy there. Oh yeah. Oh my god, I love his voice. Oh my god, I'm a yay!

SPEAKER_03

So that's wild. He's taken his his uh concert production ideas and put them for I like that the detachable, changeable pocket thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, now I want to see this collection. Yeah. I want to see this to definitely want to see this collection. Yeah, that's wild. Hmm. Is it only male brand? Well, you know what? Doesn't matter. Yeah, I will wear it anyways. I will wear it anyways. But have you found anything? Have you found something? No, no, no, no. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Like I said, it was something that we had sort of gone back and forth about a few days ago. Okay. Because the announcement was made. I don't remember when. I'd have to look at my You should know what I'm talking about. Okay. Oh, I just went to the wrong place. So the other trying to guess which which thing we were talking

Snow Man Streaming Breakthrough

SPEAKER_03

about and what got mentioned was um Snowman. Yes. On their official site on X Twitter had announced starting June 1st, previously released singles and albums streaming has been confirmed for a total of 72 songs that were previously unavailable on subscription services. Yeah. So basically, tomorrow, Snowman's gonna have 72 songs available on streaming services for us to enjoy.

SPEAKER_02

By the time we have released this, all their songs are already streaming. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

I wanna see millions of streams because everybody come on everybody, yes, some of the songs that I have been playing on OK Asia.

SPEAKER_02

Now you can hear and stream. I am so happy about that. So so happy because these are albums that were only available in Japan. Yep. Or if luckily, if there is a you know, record store that is carries Japanese imports and stuff, yep. But you know, it's like maybe New York because even us in Boston, we're like, hey, you don't have anything like this, you know?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, we'd have to rely on like C D Japan and Yes Asia and all that, you know, all of those companies overseas that we have to order from. So yeah, that's so this is this is awesome. And this is a way now fans definitely stream, stream, stream Listen, listen, listen. And and if you're not familiar familiar with them, give them a listen because their music's awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my God, they have so many bops.

SPEAKER_03

And the more recognition they get on that, the more content we'll get, more readily available to us. More artists might also get, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_02

You've seen, you remember when I shared with you uh Date Sama doing something. Oh yeah at the Cans Festival? I'm like, what? I was like, what? No way. Because I I okay, when I saw that at first without looking, reading at the content, and I'm like, oh, look at Date Sama doing his thing, but where is it in in Japan? Right. And I was like, no, Cannes Festival? What? Why?

SPEAKER_03

And I'm reading and I'm like, is this true? Is this true? Well, no, I did the safety. I was like, did someone AI that like do his performance and put it in there? But it was real. And I was like, he was the main character there. I know.

SPEAKER_02

People are like, and there are some there were some photographers, like international saying, Nate Sama. I'm like, what? That's not even a Japanese accent. That's like some foreigners calling his name. Almost like, what? I'm like, yes, my boy, yes. Oh my god. He was owning it. I know, right? So owning it. He's like, hey, hey. I'm like, ooh, ooh.

SPEAKER_03

The the confidence. The he was just exuding energy. Oh my God. It was wild. That was wild.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Yes, it was. I was like, yeah, look at him. But I did it first.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, is that an AI thing?

SPEAKER_02

Did someone it was like, I was like, really? Is this true? Is this for real? Wow. But no. Yeah. That was amazing. That was so amazing. So yeah, you gotta go check out Snowman. That's just a preview of what's one of the members of Snowman. Because everybody has their own flavor.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oh yeah. You know, ultimately.

SPEAKER_02

Everybody's giving a different look, different attitude. It's just oh, but they are so awesome as a group. Performers, singers. Oh my goodness. And now they're gonna be streaming as of June 1st. And like I said, you should be streaming now because this episode is already gonna be by in the middle of June somewhere. Come on. I and I wanna see millions. I want to see millions of streams already for Snowman. And also with the listen, you know, monthly listeners, I want to see at least a million of you know monthly listeners.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna I'm pushing for that.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. But yeah, so when when we saw that announcement, it was like, whoa, whoa. Really? I was like, what? Because that was another thing. I was like, is this did somebody make this up? Right? I know. Because this was another group.

SPEAKER_02

We're like, hello. Hello. You know, like, uh, like, what are you waiting for? You know?

SPEAKER_03

Because there's like their debut song was fire. It was awesome. We were like, explosive.

SPEAKER_02

Just like the name of the title. D D. Oh my god, yes. So I'm so happy.

unknown

Woo!

SPEAKER_03

So hopefully that's one of the songs that's gonna be. Yeah. We hope. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It better be. Now, Stones have been there, but they only have released their singles.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know why. Well, that's why I was saying that if fans and people listen to this, give it support, that'll show that more of them, more of the artists' music, like just put everything out there. Yeah. You know, I actually did it. They were like, Well, that ever throw it all out there. Throw it in there, put everything in the kitchen sink. There you go.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. But I mean, of course, it also depends on what label they're under. Apparently, you know. That's very so that's a thing, you know. Like Travis Japan is under Capitol, which is you know, a US base pretty much. So we're gonna be hearing everything that Travis Japan's gonna throw out. For Stones, I think it's Sony. No, is it might be, yeah. Because I'm like, why are you doing dirty to the boys? Because why are you releasing everything? Just only singles, NEPs. Like it didn't make sense. I'm like, you know, they have more music than just this, you know? And then they have new songs and they're not really completely releasing everything.

SPEAKER_03

Which yeah, I guess uh labels pick and choose what they feel is it's you know, it's not fair.

SPEAKER_02

It's just not fair. Come on, come on, song. Here we go. Sony music. Uh maybe that's why they're under Sony Music. Exactly. Just like cap, you know, Travis's pants on the capital, and that's different. Yeah, exactly. So yeah, I can't wait. I can't wait for snowman. Hey, hey, hey. Definitely, definitely. Ooh, one movie I want to see is the Sakamoto Days, which Meguro is starring on that one. Okay. That's why they had the new single out Bang. Okay. So, hmm. If they release this live action worldwide, that can give also a ledge for the boys. Mm-hmm. So to be more recognized internationally. Yep. But yeah, oh my god, I can't wait. Snow babies, we made it. So yeah, we're very happy about that. I spoke with one of our friends. We're like, oh my god, look, look who's gonna be on streaming, and she is very excited.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they're one of yeah, she's a narration and a snow baby like us.

SPEAKER_02

I know the fan club name is not really snow babies, but we call each other snow babies. We call each other snow babies. So I can't wait. I can't wait. That it's awesome. Another person who I cannot

Takuya Kimura Album And Tour Dates

SPEAKER_02

wait. Let's see. I just saw this. I have no idea that he was gonna sing. Takuya Kimura announces first album following label move. Hey! Yeah, uh uh. I love this man as an actor. Love this man as an actor. I have seen oh please, just love, just just love. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Love that man. Well, I told you he spent like I don't know, 20 years is most beautiful man. Japan's most beautiful man.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Even the grace that he has, they just like you still look just just just like I don't know, frosting on the cake. I don't know. You're you're just amazing. I'm gonna cry. Did you see what Nina Mia posted? No. We're talking about Takuya Kimura first. Then we talk about Nina. Hold on. Okay, yeah, you can finish Taku. Come on. It's Takus, but come on. We'll then you start. Come on, girl. My eyes are puffy still from crying today.

SPEAKER_03

No, it was something popped up because one of our friends posted it, so I was like, oh no. Oh no.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay. Takuya Gimura, real quick. Um, the uh his first album is uh released since moving to the newly established private label CNC Stage under Avex Music Creatives. Okay. Uh Takuya, oh, he's gonna do a live tour.

SPEAKER_03

Wow, but of course it's only in Japan, probably. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's gonna be touring on uh going on Kobe, Korea? Oh wow, oh okay, so he's going on September 5 and 6th, he's gonna be at the Gilean Arena in Kobe, then he's going to Inspi Arena in Seoul, Korea uh South Korea, then he's going back to Japan to on October 7th for Marine Mess Fukuoka, then he's going to Taiwan two nights, and then finalizing his uh tour in Chiba at the La La Arena, Tokyo Bay. That's cool.

SPEAKER_03

I know awesome because yeah, he's mostly just been acting for a long time.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I've seen him most, is just being an actor, which I love. Love. So this is cool. Now he's doing some music. I know, and I gotta check this out. Yeah. So, anyways, for uh for my tauya. Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

What happened, Ronino? What did he do? He posted a picture on Twitter, X, sorry, on X Twitter. Yep. It's five champagne flutes on the stage with champagne in them. And he says, a storm until the very end, a storm with five. May everyone welcome a refreshing June 1st. With his champagne. But it's so beautiful like I mean, you know, it's a stage with champagne glasses, and it's the way it's you just knew the minute you saw the picture what it what it was about, what it was for. You wouldn't have even had to see that Nino posted it. You'd have been like, it's a hargy. So they must have had their little celebration afterwards.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I see it.

SPEAKER_03

Gone out into the empty arena to do their own final farewell together. You know, Nino, he's like, whatever, I just post whatever I want. Whenever.

SPEAKER_02

You know what's so funny? What did you see in the background to the right? The crown? Their little is the yellow. Is the yellow one standing? Is the yellow it's just his. It's his little balloon. I don't know if he uh did that on purpose or it was just there. Yeah, I don't know. That even makes him more. Yeah, I don't want to cry anymore, girl. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

But it like I said, it's like such a simple picture, but you knew exactly what it was. You know what I mean? I was like, it's Argy.

SPEAKER_02

But the only moon there is his. I know. Nino Mino. Yep. He he he will not cry on that stage, but he'll make you cry. He's making me cry again. Well, he did he got a little misty, but thank you, Nino. Thank you, Nino. I'm glad that oh no, never had social media. He's like, no, I gotta take care of my dog. Doing none of this. Very private person. Even though I'm an idol.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. Oh, you know, here are the costumes. It was the I think it was the second set of costumes. Remember I was talking about it looked like cake frosting? Yeah. It was the second set where they're all in sort of like solid colors, monochromatic. Ah, okay. Like all blue, all brown, all beige, all red, all purple. But they're they got the bling on them. Yes. It looks like frosting. I liked those costumes a lot. They had the stripes down the side, the sequiny stripes. Yes. So anyway, sorry. I'm I'm getting inundated with arashi stuff on my feed.

SPEAKER_01

I know. Girl, I feel you. I can. I know.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so awesome shot of them all playing in the water during paradox with the fire behind them. Oh, you're watching some of the fan stuff? No, this is on their site. This is Arishis. Oh, this is the official Arishi.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. No, I'm not in there.

SPEAKER_03

I'm easily distracted. I'm like a magpie. Shiny stuff and it's Arashi. I'll I'll watch it. Oh my god. So cool. So cool. Oh, you know, actually, all their balloons had gold. It was just the base over their heads were their different colors. Yeah. No, so I'm saying the yellow balloon in the background of that picture.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

That's just the gold of the Oh the top? Yeah, all of their balloons were gold along the top.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I thought it was each had their different color on the top. No, no, I guess it was just the band around. See, post-concert amnesia.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_03

That's why we're gonna have to watch it again.

SPEAKER_02

So only when they had the lights on had their color though. Right. Okay. So the top was yellow.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, it was black with gold.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

On all of the all of them.

SPEAKER_02

So okay. Okay. That's what it was just Nino's color. I was like, Nino balloon. Hey, why not? Oh.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, sorry. Again, like I said, I'm like a magpie. I'm easily distracted.

SPEAKER_02

It's Arashi. So we're gonna leave it there. Because then we're gonna continue to talk about Arashi. But yeah, I see the pictures. Uh they actually posted on Twitter. Yes. So and then we see some of the juniors. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So any other news that we can think of?

SPEAKER_02

No, because I'm seeing an Arashi now.

SPEAKER_03

Actually, do we want to tell everybody about our big adventure? Oh yes.

Hello Kitty Truck Storm Story

SPEAKER_03

This is the like we're just gonna talk about what we did this week portion of the conversation.

SPEAKER_02

This weekend we travel to Boston very early. Um our families were saying, Are you sure you're going to Boston? Because it's gonna be raining. I'm like, listen, I'm not is is is Massachusetts, it's New England. One one day we'll say, Oh, it's gonna rain, it's gonna do this, and then it's nothing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So I'm not looking at the weather.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Not looking at the weather until the day.

SPEAKER_03

The day we go. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We both wake up to nice, sunny, you know, day. We're like, oh, I guess it's not gonna happen. See, see? Yeah. The minute I get into my car to proceed to go to Sarah's, it starts to rain.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, uh, I know it was like it only took an hour for that to happen.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Because I was like, oh, cool, the sun's out, and you're like, I'm on my way. I'm like, awesome, we're gonna have a great ride in. By the time you get to my house, I was like, what's happening?

SPEAKER_02

So why were we going to Boston? It's because it was the Hello Kitty truck cafe pop-up store or pop-op truck, let's say. Yes. So um many moons or episodes ago, uh, I told Sarah about the Hello Kitty cafe truck. It's this cafe truck, and how I waited two hours to get Hello Kitty merch. Because I love Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty's been my girl for many, many, many, many decades, let's say. And um Sarah missed out. She's like, oh my god, okay. So then they they came back to Boston, then something happened, we couldn't go, but then now this year it started now in Boston, and we go and we're all excited, and then it rained. But rain like not just rain. It was rainy, windy, cold. Cold, yeah. Oh my god. We uh it it's the pop-up is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. or until they sell out out of you know, merch or whatever they have. The thing is that we go there early, you know, we wait and we go. We got there at 9. Still pouring rain. There were already like what 60, 50 people there waiting.

SPEAKER_03

I would say about 50, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There were uh the first four people that we saw, they had they were sitting on folding chairs, and that just thinking, how long have you been on that line?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they were camping out.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, what? And we're yeah, like I wanted to ask, well, what time did you guys uh arrive? You know, because it's like hello, the day before, two, three hours later, five hours later, exactly last night. I saw somebody in the comments say some people were out there at 7 a.m. Wow, 7 a.m.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, it's like merch lines, you know. Almost like what is this BTS stuff? Like what? But that oh the wind and the rain was like no joke. Oh my god. Yeah, because remember when we came out, we had parked and we were like, all right, which direction do we need to go? And we looked down the street. Now it was windy right where we were standing, and definitely rain was hitting us, but we looked down, and there's like people getting blown across the street with their umbrellas inside out.

SPEAKER_02

We were like, oh no. I know. We're like, What is this is a storm, girl? This is a storm. We're like, okay, we're here. It's like we're here. This is like we're here, might as well.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, let's just do it. But we were apparently in the sheltered spot because we got to the end of the road, turned to head to the truck, and it was just like there was no point in having the umbrella because the rain was going sideways. And it was like we got wet. Uh at least when we were in line, we were sheltered for a little bit because we were in that like alleyway. Yeah. But once you got towards the actual truck, it was more in the open.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

And you were like, oh, there's the cold, oh, there's the rain, oh man. That rain was cold. And it was like the coldest day. We've had 80, 75 to 80 degree weather all week. Yeah. And then yesterday, it's like 43, and they're like, with the wind and the rain, it feels like 35. I'm like, it could snow for crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Like, it's so cold. Some people were saying, hey, the Berkshire's may get snow. And I'm like, the Berkshire? No, come on. Come on. It's May. It's almost June. Like, what? Oh, yeah. I was this is the hell is this? Oh god. Oh, so yeah, we Sarah and I waited in the rain, in the cold rain, windy rain.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

But we got our Hello Kitty stuff. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. And it's cool. I love this sweatshirt. It's so cute.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my God. And it's I know. It's like people, you know, I'm there for much. It's like, listen, it's like it's when you have a niche, mine is Hello Kitty for life. You know, I'm gonna be there. And people was like, oh my god, you're so crazy. Just like you waited two hours under the sun. I'm like, I did, but this time I came prepared. I just didn't was not prepare for rain. Yeah, it was that's the thing. I was prepared for like a nice day, but not for rain. I was like, dang it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we had our umbrellas, and but it wasn't enough because of the Yeah, no, it was like like we needed, you know, those basically kept our our glasses from getting speckles on. That was about it.

SPEAKER_02

We needed those rain suits that they use at like the the going boat.

SPEAKER_03

The Gordon's fishermen. Yes. We needed one of those those yellow like hats and slickers and stuff. Exactly. Or Paddington, you know, the hat and the rain boots and the coat. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, I feel bad, but I don't know. You know what? I do not feel bad for these girls though. That they were like so on, like not dressed for the rain. They were looking all cute, but it's just like cute, wet.

SPEAKER_03

You look like a wet cat. Cute, wet, and cold. Yeah. I was I'm like, I had on, you know, full length. My hands were cold, yeah, full-length pants and a shirt and uh a fleece jacket, and I was cold, and I'm watching people with like bare legs in mini skirts. I'm like, are you nuts? I saw somebody on flip-flops, and I'm like, Yeah. Oh, I know. In the rain, yuck. Uh no.

SPEAKER_02

Flip-flops?

SPEAKER_03

No, this is not a pool. This is not the beach, it's not your shower at the locker room. Ew. And it was, um, it's yeah, and it was cold. Yeah, no, way too cold for that. People in shorts and like just shorts and a t-shirt. I'm like, it was too cold for that, even without the rain. Exactly. Because it was sunny, yeah, but it was cool out. You know, you could feel the cold air coming in, but like, once you threw the rain in there, forget it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I don't know how can you know, people are that unprepared, and you know, I I'm like, I mean, maybe it doesn't faze you and you're okay like that, hey? Yeah, more power too, yeah. Exactly. But we were like, oh hell. No, that's just no, that's not that was yeah. So, but yeah, we wait we waited for like one hour. We were done by almost 11.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was quarter of quarter of eleven when we were done.

SPEAKER_02

So, but um thank God we got there. So I'm just saying it was a blessing that it was raining because that that was a lot of people still with bad weather. Yeah. Just imagine if it was nice. I know. I couldn't miss out. We could have missed out on some stuff because of the last time that I was there, and I was like, Yeah, no, I get there like around 10-ish. Oh, hell no. There were things that were already sold out, and the line was around the block. Yeah, I think. And I'm like, family were like, are you really gonna stay? And I'm like, Yeah, watch me. And I'm there waiting. I made a friend. We were talking about, you know, first, you know, when was uh the what what what Hello Kitty attracted us? How did we started with Hello Kitty? You know, and she was really cool, and then we made one with all the friends and whatever. And then today I was just like, Yeah, it's gonna be cool, you know, gonna but they're early enough, but I guess not. But um again, if it was nice, who knows? We could have been again around the block.

SPEAKER_03

But because of the weather, uh you know, it was yeah, people were like, nope. Not going. Yeah, I'm out. Or they were waiting for it to clear up, you know, hoping it would clear up.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-mm. So maybe after that then I was looking into the comments and just like, yeah, by the time I got there, a lot of things were sold out. I'm like Yeah, you were there like seven hours later. Yeah, no. You missed your window. So yes, that's how I am with Hello Kitty. I'm waiting for the next Boston stop. Let's see what kind of you know, the if they bring new stuff. Yeah. Or if it's the same things and I'm all right, unless you want to Yeah, we'll just have to see what what kind of stuff they're doing. Gotta check what's in the in the on the menu for pop-up. I know. Like I hope that they were gonna bring the the blanket or the blanket, and no, they didn't brought the blanket, they bought something else. Um, so what happened? Do you feel the shaking? That was me. Oh, oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

I thought we were having another case. So you say that. Because I'm like, okay, go ahead. Well, we find

Meteor Boom, Then Wrap Up

SPEAKER_03

out too after we leave Boston. We oh yeah, we get home, we're like, oh, let's go out to eat, you know. So we grabbed some food. I get home, and all a bunch of our friends, mutual friends, were like asking, you know, is everybody okay? Because I've got family out towards Boston and down, you know, around um, yeah, everybody okay? And I'm like, what are you talking about? Yeah. Apparently a meteor came busting through the you know atmosphere and created a sonic boom that was felt from Montreal to like Coventry, Rhode Island or something. Yeah. And they were saying like people were reporting their apartments shaking and all of this. So this meteor came crashing in, made a boom, a flash of light. They think maybe if any debris landed, it was in the ocean, anyways. But like we we just missed. We missed a boom, this this whole event, this meteor event. We were like, what? Huh? That's crazy. My parents didn't hear a thing. They had no idea it had happened until they saw it on the news. Because I called. I'm like, you guys okay? All my friends are freaking out, saying there was a meteor. And they're like, What?

SPEAKER_02

And then when you sent me that, I'm like, what? What?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like a little after two o'clock in the afternoon.

SPEAKER_02

We were already in Western Mass. But it was like in the land of dragons, because that's what they say in Massachusetts. What's in Massachusetts? The land of dragons and castles and witches. Whatever.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. But that was too bad. I'm like, because yeah, and I mean it was also, it was all over like Instagram and threads, a bunch of people. So I'm like, like my my social media is blowing up about this. My friends are sending me messages asking about family. I'm like, what? What meteor? What meteor? Everything's fine over here. So that was pretty wild. We missed it just by a couple of hours. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

I know. I mean, we were so cold and and damp and miserable. We're like, okay, we got our stuff. Let's leave.

SPEAKER_03

We're not gonna hang. We're just gonna go home, get some soup.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We wanted we wanted warmth. We wanted food. We're like, we're done. I got what I wanted. Let's go. Yeah, no, no, no boom boom. No, we didn't hear that. No. Oh my god. That was wild. All right. All right. So that was our weekend. Wow. Ups and downs. Yeah. Ups and downs. Yep. It was a yeah. Uh a very emotional Sunday. Um kind of like cold and almost miserable because it wasn't for Hello Kitty. Because I love my Hello Kitty.

SPEAKER_03

Well, Hello Kitty and the food. Because the food was really good.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. That was okay. But oh my god, this weekend. Oh, so training. I know, right? And the family wants me to go shopping. I don't want to go shopping now. You know, there's food in there. We don't have to go shopping today. Wait till they get paid. We're good. We're good. All right. So thank you for listening, everybody. Please give us five stars. That's all we need. You know, more constellations, you know. Exactly. Give us five stars for another we don't have another meteor coming down here. Stop the meteor. Give us five stars or thumbs up, whatever you're listening from. And then I guess we'll see you guys next time. Yeah. All right. Bye-bye. Bye bye.
